Been popping in here for a while now, it's one of those hidden gems which you stumble upon in life every now and then. Bar food is exceptional, coffee is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is magnetic.

Really disappointed with the service here. This was the first time I came to this pub with my friends and was shocked by how we were treated by a member of staff. We were settling into a booth and planned to then go to the bar for drinks before being approached by a female member of staff, who I believe was the owner, asking if we were “with anyone” to which we replied that it was just us. This led to her belittling us and telling us that “this isn’t a playground or youth centre” and that we needed to leave to “make room for real customers”. This women assumed our ages, without checking for ID, even though we are all 19 and 20, and kicked us out because of her prejudice and ageism. I will not be returning here.

Popped in for a drink whilst out on a afternoon stroll with my fiancé we originally just had a drink in mind but we gave into a huge bowls of Nachos and a scotch egg, food was delicious a real little gem of a pub. Great outside seating. We will pop back again.

Stopped for a pint and a bite, and found this gem of a pet-friendly pub. They have awesome outdoor seating in cute pods and their one-item menu is superb! It was called a Yorkshire wrap and had gourmet quality roast veg alongside my choice of roast beef/lamb/turkey. We had a side of the best pigs in blankets I’ve ever had.

My first visit to the area and having a few drinks with family. We stopped at The Royal Oak and stayed for a couple of hours having drinks in one of the pods which is a nice touch. The only disappointment was the fact they had live entertainment but no room to sit/stand to enjoy it so we swiftly left. Would come back

All too predictably, it has become a yuppie pub, not a local pub. So unless you have £££s and remarkable patience, avoid and head into Woburn itself. At least places like the Black Horse in Woburn don't have any misconceptions about what they are. Another chance for Woburn Sands to cater to the mixed economy that is present here bites the dust and another example of locals being pushed out of their own town. So much for the takeover bringing a change to the Royal Oak. I'd give it two out of five but the last pint (Pravho) there on 11/6/22 didn't taste right and my bowels agreed. #SameAsItEverWas

I am a regular… fantastic venue. Helen, Kelly and team are always welcoming. I can’t rate this pub high enough. It’s the furthest walk in Woburn sands for us but always our favourite. Love the events, love the staff, love the atmosphere.

We’d seen the sharing platters on Instagram & kept saying we need to go. Should have gone sooner! They were amazing! They are huge, so go hungry. We loved the atmosphere & the staff really looked after us. I’m going back with my husband because he’s a foodie and he’ll love it, we’ll probably go for the mixed platter as that looked brilliant & perfect for two. Pre ordering is required for the platters. They had the footy & then boxing on this particular night but they’re known for having live music showcasing local talent. Pop in 🍻

Great staff , friendly locals pub where we were made most welcome, totally refurbished so don’t listen to old reviews, beer great and not a foodie pub , but will provide platters with 24 hour notice and have food themed nights , and great well kept ales to boot 🍺

This is the first time we've been back to the Royal Oak since it's refurbishment and the new owners in place. We were having a double celebration & asked Helen to organise the "meat and fish" platter that can be pre-ordered. The food & service were outstanding - the passion from all of the team shines through and I cannot recommend it enough. Well done "Royal Oak" and we'll be back very soon!

If you like proper pubs then you'll love this place. I went to watch a football match and enjoyed the evening so went back the following night. The pub doesn't do food but a fish & chip van pulled up outside, so I sat eating fish and chips while watching football and drinking beer. Thanks to Mick for making me so welcome.

The only pub left in Woburn Sands where you can watch a football match! Enjoyed by many who like to have a pint and a chat about the game!

Bien y mal.

I started going here at 18. I am now 58, have worked and lived all over the world and happened to be back in wolverton to deal with the passing of a relative so went in for a burger. The experience took me back to the 80,s when this was the after pub place to go to and the food is still as good. Well worth a visit

I have watched this place get progressively worse over the years. I "used to" buy a large amount of selection boxes for friends and families but now take my custom elsewhere. First of all they seem to employ obnoxious, rude and unhygienic staff with Napoleon complexes as a standard. Second, The place is getting progressively dirtier to the point I have had hair in my selection box and I am sure I saw something verminous scuttle under a table on one visit. Thirdly, The whole covid thing gave everyone a chance to be scared of cash. Personally i like cash and have never been scammed on my cards... because i use cash. Now all the restrictions are lifted. One of the staff members loudly and arrogantly refused my legal tender as i attempted to buy a selection box (is that even legal?) and seemed very pleased not to take my money. I have never seen a business model that doesn't want to take money? But I guess they can have their donut and eat it.

Bar man (maybe manager)with with jet black hair and glasses very rude. Politely asked how long my food would be he then tutted and booted the kitchen door open, came out and said not long. This was witnessed by other customers too. I only come in this pub once or twice a month and this man is alway rude. Obviously doesn’t like his job very much. Shame to the pub and the other nice staff. Won’t be back as long as he is there. What a shame to the cricketers he is.
