Score and reviews

We are never disappointed here, it seems to have become even better over the past year with the restaurant service at its most attentive and charming, superbly led by Luigi. The meals remain creative, with great flavour, it has become our favourite London restaurant.

If you have the £39 fixed menu than the true Roux experience will not be savoured. The restaurant itself is quite atmospheric and grand but the staff did not get off to a good start by asking "still or sparkling"? Smoked Sea Bream starter was fine but certainly not memorable. However Glaze Cumbrian Pork Belly had little meat and no crackling with a poor presentation. Manjari Moelleux dessert was tasty but more comfort food than exquisite. Two glasses of wine were included as well as chocolate petit fours. The bill for 4, including service and water, was approximately £48 each. This is reasonable for the area but I found the quality of food disappointing.

A fine restaurant located at The Langham, London. Classic elegant restaurant design. Great service. The most important thing is wonderful delicious dishes and is open all day (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

Oscar Wilde Bar

02/11/2019: Afternoon tea in the Oscar Wilde Lounge is a rather decadent affair. Located in the Cafe Royal in Regent Street. It has been refurbished to a very high standard retaining all the original features. A little over the top?- of course it is- thats why it is associated with Oscar- very flamboyant! Excellent choice of different teas with full explanation of flavours in menu. The afternoon tea itself is a wonderful mix of sweet and savoury and is extremely well presented. Staff are very professional and courteous. Vegetarian and halal can be catered for. There is a resident pianist who is excellent- plays just the right music and at just the right volume.
22/12/2019: Gelegen hartje London nabij Piccaddily Circus in het prachtige Hotel Café Royal is dit een van de beste, zoniet de beste Afternoon Tea in the City.

Cahoots Bar

16/12/2019: We went to the Cahoots Underground. It is a 1940s-themed bar, offering illicit cocktails and rations. There was a really nice and friendly host, manning the entrance. He was checking everyone’s reservation, and making sure the table for each guest group is ready, before sending a group down.
12/12/2019: We arrived shortly after day time opening hours and were seated without a reservation.
