Best steak in London hands down. The ribeye here is better than any I've ever had. Everytime I come here the food is excellent.

Had a lovely early evening meal … food was great & the service was great Our server MO was so so lovely & went above & beyond 10/10 service what an asset they are to your Covent Garden restaurant

Their fillet steak is amazing. Second only to the one I've had in South America. Their waiters are all well trained on allergies. And they fry their fries separately due to my gluten allergy. One of the few steak places that offer truly gluten free chips (with no cross contamination). The restaurant is a bit loud but that's just because it's busy.

Awesome place where to have great steak!

Went there to have my birthday lunch. Was greeted very warmly at the reception and was shown to my table instantly. The vibe of the place was great. Ordered a fillet with fries along with a champagne cocktail. The cocktail was quite nice. The steak and fries arrived in a bit and the steak was cooked to perfection. After the meal when my server Florence found out it was my birthday she got me a birthday drink, which was a welcome surprise. She made sure I was happy with my meal and took care of everything in a friendly and professional way. Would highly recommend this place and best regards to Florence for making my day special.

I visited Hawksmoor for my birthday, and the meal was exceptional. Our server Nathan (Nate) was superb, very attentive and kind. My partner is a vegetarian, I know it seems a weird choice to visit a Carny restaurant but it was 'My' birthday. The choice was limited for him but he settled for egg and chips, which made me lol. he said they were the best fried eggs he's ever had (possibly cooked in beef dripping 🤭) Everything was perfect and would definitely go back, it beats many steak restaurants I've visited in London. I rarely eat everything but clean plates all round.

Came on a reservation on a weeknight and it was good I did. The place was full. I got led into the table right in the middle of the main room, which didn't look bad for being underground but the room was very noisy (room also didn't have anything to dampen noise). My friend checked and it was at 85-90db for the whole time. I feel bad for the waiters who are likely to get hearing problems from working in such a loud place. I personally quite liked the rib eye which was not tough at all though my companion more used to steak found it mid. I was not a big fan of the bone marrow sauce but casually liked maple bacon. Fries were decent but nothing special (though ordered separately). I didn't care much to drink alcohol on the day (particularly supermarket bottles of beer) though I couldn't find a soft drinks menu so ended up having a glass of wine. This probably contributed to the bill totalling 200 GBP for a good food and a bit of drink for two though in a loud and busy atmosphere. I probably won't be back but it's not a bad place.

Best steak you will find!! Been to this restaurant on many occasions and never walked away unhappy. I love the potted beef starter with the Yorkshire pudding. ( gravy is really really nice) Mac and cheese is full of flavour. I don’t think i have any negative comment. it is quite expensive when you get carried away with the sides like I do. They do offer an express menu between certain hours if you looking for a lower cost solution and is great value for money. ( also has the potted beef starter ) I’ve not come across anywhere as good (other than the other hawksmoor restaurants in London. We’ve been to all apart from the Canary Wharf. I would definitely recommend going here for any occasion but again it’s not the cheapest but you will get quality.

What to say, 5* In every dept, me and my fiancée went for our New Years meal we were staying in London for 3 nights over New Year in radisson blu round the corner. The meal was absolutely superb had a prawn cocktail starter, which was the best I've ever had, and for that little bit of luxury, It even had caviar in, and fillet steak I can honestly say the best I've ever had or tasted by a mile cooked to perfection our first time here as a one off which we do when we're away can only say go go go never mind price it's worth it. My partner and I are visiting London from Australia and booked Hawksmoor for a celebratory dinner (we just got engaged). We had been looking forward to it for the last few months, but unfortunately were really underwhelmed. The service and venue itself were really beautiful but our food quality was not aligned with the cost. We started with drinks and the Potted Beef which, while enjoyable, was all on the cold side. For mains we were quite shocked that they did not seem to have any cuts of meat smaller than 600g available, so ended up settling on the only smaller one on offer - a 450g Chateaubriand (totalling £70) with sides of chips, creamed spinach, and béarnaise sauce. The spinach and sauce were nice, but the serving of chips was maybe 10 or 12 for the entire cup. Our biggest upset was the steak, which we asked to be cooked medium rare. It came out later than the rest of the sides, for which our waiter apologised, but it ended up being quite overcooked and more well done than even medium. We were asked about 2 minutes after receiving the meal if everything was okay, but at that stage we had barely eaten any of it so said yes. As we continued through the meal, it became more clear that the steak was overcooked. We finished the meal and let the waiter know about the meat before we ordered dessert, to which she was apologetic and said that if we had mentioned earlier they could have done something. We finished with a sticky toffee pudding which was really tasty (and that they took off our bill - unsure if this was as an apology or to celebrate our occasion) and some complimentary champagne (again unsure which this was for). Unfortunately while the staff and space were good, the experience was tainted and we left quite upset. With the bill coming to £150 total, we did not feel this was a worthwhile experience.

The ribeye was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and tender. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and the perfect complement to the steak. Excellent service and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I have eaten at a few Hawksmoor restaurants but this was the first time I had to pay myself! The venue is in a vaulted basement so not the best start. Seating looks overfull with some tables near the bottom of stairs and one bar high table in the pathway to get to the toilets. Our table in the middle of a square room - just not elegant - given the prices. Eaten many times at premium US chains like Ruth Chris - not at US premium standard yet! £433 for 4 with no deserts or coffee and 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of red wine including service. Service in the restaurant was very good - less organised for pre-dinner drink in the bar. Lots of bars nearby!! Food was excellent although no lobster, oysters, or signature bone marrow at 1830 in the evening between Christmas and NY.

What a let down. All I can say is it must be a good place to work as the staff just stand arounf laughing and chatting with each other and dont really pay any attention to the tables. Food is incredibly overpriced. I would recommend either Smith and wolensky, STK or Goodmans for a much better meal at a similar cost. Everything was very average at best and the buttered greens were a bunch of overcooked sprouts with leaves. Wont be returning.

We went for Sunday lunch after seeing good reviews online. Steak and Yorkshire pudding were incredible, unfortunately the veg and everything else was a let down.

Still one of the best places to get a decent steak in town and the ambience is perfect for dates, business meets and gatherings. Nicely tucked away just around the bustling streets of Covent Garden and Seven Dials. The staff are attentive and very knowledgeable. Especially with the wine pairing. We went all out with a 3 course with a large serving of Chateaubriand to share and matching desserts and wines. Sauternes is always a must for me! Hawksmoor has never let me down and if steak is your choice of menu, I cannot recommend them enough.

Went for the classical Sunday Roast and it did not disappoint. The restaurant was packed so reservations are recommended. Also, order the stuffing!

Whilst I would love to say I had an outstanding experience, sadly that was not the case. The food was beautiful and the flavours were perfectly balanced. However, the experience was soured by the staffs attitude, they were rude and distasteful, making myself and my family feel rather uncomfortable. It is a shame because the food was 10/10.

Cool place, good food and lovely staff. Unfortunately I got food poisoning from the scallops. I couldn’t take my flight I had to book an extra hotel for 2 nights and I missed some appointments. Not what you are expecting from places like this.

Generally considered our favourite Hawksmoor, we've been here so many times we've lost count. Try the Chateaubriand medium rare, one of the best texture and flavoursome steaks in London, and we've tried many.

Food and atmosphere was really good. Service was ok but would have expected better. Food also took a long time to be bought out based on it not being overly busy

Great meal, pleasant surroundings with my fave people, but the bill was pretty extortionate tbh (£60 service charge, really!?!?)

It's OK. But we were kept waiting 30 mins for a table despite having booked, then another 40 minutes for the food. Rump steak was overcooked. The acoustics are awful due to the brick ceilings, so don't expect easy conversations across a busy table

Great buzzing restaurant in good location. Superb food including excellent steaks served by friendly efficient staff.

Great food, as always. Waiting staff were friendly but the door staff were cold. Made it a little uncomfortable walking in. Unfortunately I won’t be going back, the price just isn’t worth it. £40+ for a steak. £6.50 for a side (just one side) and I think the steak sauce was £3.50 or £4. So what’s that, roughly £60 for a steak, before drinks. I can go to Lidl, buy steaks that are around 10/20% worse & cook it with any sauce I fancy, plus any sides for less than £15. On a side note, there were some people in there with young kids, more money than sense. The kids didn’t even look like they wanted to be there.

My husband had a fantastic birthday treat, he loved everything from the cocktail before to the happy birthday dessert. I had the monkfish and would really recommend too.

All essy, staff did their upmost and were great. A shame it all felt quite rushed m.

Had a great meal at Hawksmoor Seven Dials. The steak was excellent, and while the peppercorn sauce was a bit heavy on the Dijon, it was still tasty. Good selection of red wines by the glass. Our waitress, India, was lovely—friendly and attentive, she really made the evening enjoyable!

This was a very mixed experience. Last time the manager came and spoke to us to recognise our loyalty The early part was good, food excellent as alwaysservice pretty good. We said that instead of dessert we would have cocktails in bar. The waiter said he would set us up and transfer the bill. He they came back and said he could not. We settledthe bill and waiter took us over to the bar, but didn’t hand us over. As a result we sat up at the bar, got ignored by everyone behind the bar . The final straw came when one of the barmen put a container of waste liquid (slop)right in front of my dining companion This ruined the mood and ambience we had just spent £300 in restaurant Eventually a bar waiter approached and asked if he could help, we asked for cocktail menu but then he went and chatted to other guests. At this point I decided to leave , he looked across but didn’t try and stop us When we collected our coats we weren’t thanked or asked if we had a good time,which normally happens I’ve been loyal to this Hawksmoor but if I’m honest can’t see me coming back for awhile We enjoyed cocktails elsewhere

The food was average/fine, but unfortunately, the sound level was absolutely unbearable. It was so loud that we were all struggling to understand each other, especially those seated across from one another at our table of four. The table we were given was right next to the kitchen, making it even less relaxing as staff were constantly running by. Our main waitress was very nice; however, the other staff were so-so. The person at the main entrance greeted us rather coldly upon arrival, the waitress who brought our digestif just appeared at our table, semi-slammed the drinks down, and left again without a word, and twice there was confusion with food being brought to our table that wasn’t ours. Having been to Hawksmoor Air Street several times before, and being used to the dignified feel of that restaurant, I was very, VERY disappointed by my first visit to the Seven Dials branch. The atmosphere very much resembled sitting in a shopping mall food court (loud, cramped, uncomfortable and chaotic)—with dimmed lights. I can’t imagine coming back again and definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone seeking an upscale dining experience.

Cocktails were great. The cuts were not up to expectations sadly. This is the second time I visit Hawksmoor but both occasions the meat was overcooked and dry. Spaces were packed and no hanger for jackets.

Service was very good - the staff kept constantly refilling our water and wine. They were very attentive. Steak was good - tasty! Chips and garlic mushrooms were very good!

3rd time here, and it's just so so good. Love the steak, cooked to perfection! Bone marrow was divine. Both the fries and chips were tasty! The oysters were also so good! The only downside, if any, was the lightning. Otherwise, 10's across the board!

From the moment you enter it is very enjoyable. One the best steak restaurant in London. The best quality steak and cooked to perfection. It has a good wine list but if preferred some good beers and cocktails. Waiters are friendly and very helpful which makes the whole occasion a great experience. Don’t forget if booking for a Monday you can ask about taking your own wine 🍷 and pay only £5 a great way to really enjoy yourselves. December 22, Its always a good test of a restaurant, l continue to visit Hawksmoor and again a superb time, great food,friendly staff and super service.

We went there for the Sunday Roast and although I'm not a meat fan, it is possible to order a la carte. I had the grilled monkfish and it was excellent! My companion had the classic Sunday Roast and enjoyed it! Fast service, typical and rustic decor. Very generous portions.

As always, it was very good experience. The most important aspect is the consistency of each dish across different visits, and by no doubt, they deliver.

I visited this place because my favourite Korean celebrity was here a few years ago. Genuinely good food and equally great service. The steak was just 🤌, the lobster was decent (not as incredible as everything else, to be honest) and the sticky toffee pudding & the chocolate waffle were fantastic. Pricey, surely, but justifiably so given what they offer. Will definitely visit again when I'm back in London.

Excellent food as always and very friendly and attentive but on this occasion very disappointed with the greeter when we first arrived. Not very friendly at all. We all had raincoats on due to the weather which we have always taken off upstairs but in a rather abrupt way we were told there was another place downstairs. Definitely not the best first impressions. Thankfully once seated everything perfect.

Spectacular steak. Amazing all round. Dig the garlic mushrooms. We had 2 T-Bones between 2 adults and 2 teens. Highly recommend.

Come here regularly and it always impresses! The steak quality and taste is just perfect and the sides are to die for. Although the prices seem to have risen a bit since the last visit it still represents good value and I don’t mind paying a bit more when the overall experience is so good.

I've tried many steaks in London, from cheap Flat Iron to Steak Company, but this was the most delicious steak. As for the price, if you want to taste this high-quality meat in this high-end atmosphere, you have to pay twice as much in Gangnam or Itaewon in Korea. I tried the rib eye sirloin sirloin (medium) and it was very delicious. The wine is Malbec by the glass.

Excellent food and service outweighed by the incessant and absurdly elevated noise level making it impossible to have a normal conversation with anyone at the same small table. Decibel meter at times reached 110-120 db

Went to Hawksmoor recently, and honestly, it was such a letdown. The cuts weren’t what we expected, and everything was seriously overcooked. For how EXPENSIVE it was, it just didn’t live up to the hype. Do not bother.

Came to have a lunch with friends, Nuria and Fran were our waiters they were exceptional! Great knowledge about the menu and wines and amazing service. Will definitely be back!

I had an exceptional dining experience. The ambiance was inviting and cozy vibe. The food was fantastic. Nuria our waitress was exceptionally amazing making sure we felt well taken care of throughout our meal.

Lovely service and fantastic quality steak and wine

Food was lovely as always. Dinner was ruined by a noisy group beside us and very poor service unfortunately. We’d finished our mains 40 minutes before our waitress cleared our plates. Multiple times items were forgotten from mains and coffees at the end. A disappointing expierence for a birthday celebration.

My only regret is that my stomach was too small to eat more!! Everything was perfect

Our annual family get together and year after year Hawksmoor does not disappoint. The food is always of exceptional standard as is the service. A relaxing way to spend a few hours catching up with family over excellent food and drink.

The food was excellent, and the atmosphere and service were also great. The downside was the high noise level in the venue.

Stopped in for dessert, specifically sticky toffee pudding. We started out with cocktails, a Sour cherry Negroni and Gingerbread Man. Both were excellent. Next up the Sticky Toffee Pudding. One of the best desserts I have had, so rich and moist and the clotted cream was perfect to cut richness of the pudding. Highly recommend!

We have been before food and service very good as always. Will be back next year.

In addition to the normal criteria of food, service.ambience we can also add “response in a crisis”. For this we give the team 11 out of 10 for being phenomenally supportive when one of our dinner party suffered a seizure. Their response with an on site first aider coupled with calling emergency services and the way they managed the whole situation with calm urgency and empathy to all concerned was both impressive and appreciated.

Mo our server was simply amazing. Very knowledgable. Very friendly. Perfect balance of attentive but not overbearing.

As always a great restaurant with outstanding food and service. My only critique is that yesterday the restaurant was deafeningly noisy to even manage to have a conversation with the people at your own table without having to shout at each other to be heard… adding even more to the existing noise.

Chateaubriand was fabulous. Service was good until it wasn't when we were moved to the noisy bar after 1.5hrs to free space for the next diners.

The woman at the reception is very rude and never smiles, she is very bad and I don't know how she was put in this job, she is the worst person I have ever seen in London.

I’m a Hawksmoor fan and a regular whenever I’m in London. Seven Dials never disappoints in any way. I dined pre-theartre at 5:30. Tonight, a senior staff member came to my table - ‘Hi, good to see you back with us again’. The food is always top notch, but Paul’s visit made the evening memorable, particularly as I was alone. We had a 7p reservation, but I knew my 4 jet lagged kids were never going to make it till 7p, so we stopped by the restaurant at 6p to see if they could get us in, if not we were just going to cancel. The hostesses were phenomenal! They called downstairs to see if they could get us in and they ended up getting us a table, I was so thankful. The staff was so kind to my 4 kids between the ages of 6-13, even though it's an upscale restaurant, I never felt like a burden or unwanted there because I had kids with me. Now onto the most important part...the food. The steak is so tender you can practically cut it with a fork, my son got the monkfish and loved it. I cannot say enough good things about the food, just wonderful and while pricey, worth every penny. If you are looking for a quiet place, this may not be the place for you as it is quiet loud downstairs, but that doesn't bother us. I am so glad we tried the Hawksmoor and will definitely be back the next time we are in London.

Called to make a reservation and was given a tentative hold for a corporate event with 3 weeks notice. Was told I’d be contacted to confirm within 48 hours. We went through the menu options. Not only did they not call me back in over a week but when I called to check in there was no available times. Do not recommend.
