Service was nothing special, just doing there job. Food was good- but not worth £24.

Super delicious fish & chips. We were lucky enough to get a table outside in the sun. "Mayfair prices." Still, we'd happily go back. Definitely recommend it!

They offer different types of fish but the teaste of Cod fish was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend everyone visit and try their food—the quality and flavor are outstanding, and the price is reasonable for the experience. I enjoyed and will definitely be returning soon! 🚀

The Mayfair Chippy is a true gem for anyone craving classic British fish and chips. The fish is incredibly fresh, wrapped in perfectly crisp, golden batter that doesn't feel greasy. The chips are thick-cut and wonderfully fluffy inside—exactly how they should be. The outdoor seating area is great, especially on a warm day, and the atmosphere overall is lively and welcoming. It can get busy, so expect a bit of a wait if you don’t have a reservation—but it’s well worth it.

One of the best Fish & Chip and Mussels you could get at this area. Reservations is recommended if not there is a walk in waiting list. We had the Cod fish for Fish & Chips. The sauces were really great match. The starts size Mussels is big enough for one pax.

We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant! The staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive, especially toward our child. They brought over a coloring sheet and crayons to keep them entertained — and even gifted the crayons to take home. Before we left, they surprised our little one with a small bag of sweets. We also really enjoyed the food — the fish and chips, chicken bites were delicious!

One of the best Fish and Chips in London, a bit crowded and chaotic on peak hours with small spaces but the fish was super even in the frying and the fries themselves are thick and really good, the sauces complete the dish in a superlative way. Among the waiters, shoutout to Annarita, really nice, professional, welcoming and beautiful too of course! :)

Literally best fish and chips EVER. Absolutely incredible. I got the fried Cod with chips on side and the sourdough bread. For dessert we got the sticky pudding and berry crumble and literally every single thing was perfect. I’m a tough food critic and I can’t say a bad thing about it. 10/10 recommend

Yesterday was my Son’s birthday so we went there to have a meal, Even though I made a Table Reservation at 5:00 I still have to wait for 10 mins and I don’t mind of the waiting time but the thing is I got a really terrible service by one of the staff. Not even 1 hour of sitting and the staff comes up to me and asked me to give the table back because other customers are waiting for the table, at time my son is still eating and haven’t finished yet so I told him that “we are not finish yet and my son’s still eating” and then he told me “ he’ll give me 4 mins to finish the food and give him the table back”. I really enjoyed the foods and I always order takeaway from this restaurant and this bad thing happened to me at my first time of Dining in.

The restaurant is wonderful. The employee Issa is there. He is very wonderful and has the highest morals. The important thing is that you inform them that it is halal. It is best to order through Issa.

Excellent restaurant. I chose it for the Sheppard pie and it was the best I have had in England so far. Everything on the plate was delicious. Service was very polite, with a smile, and fast. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for good English food in London.

This place is a victim of social media success far too busy for its own good we were sat at the bar ( a plank of wood attached to the wall ) we had to hail a member of staff to take our order. the food was ok but it was so hot and stuffy ( maybe the air con was not working ) it was slightly unpleasant to relax and enjoy a meal out and then the bill came 🤨. Overhyped overpriced

The beer was lukewarm, and the fish and chips were so oily that I couldn't tell if I was eating fish or oil, it was disgusting. And yet, two beers and one fish and chips cost about 10,000 yen! It's unbelievable, I'll never go there again.

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. We were there with kids and it seemed like we would have to wait for ages, but actually we got a table super fast. The fish and chips was amazing, and although I was pretty hungry, I had to take some with me for dinner :).

Fine fish! Though custard was burnt, when served with apple crumble (they didnt charge us, though, and we were offered ice cream). We did have to ask for our drinks, with over 15min since we had made the order.

Love this restaurant! Discovered it by chance. I had the shepherd's pie (to doe for!!!) and my family and friends had their famous mayfair cod chippy (huge delicious portions!) Very very friendly wait staff. Do make a reservation before popping by as it will make your life easier and dont forget to make space for their lovely must have sticky toffe pudding!

Although we had to wait for about 20-30 minutes to enter the restaurant, as someone else said to us when leaving "it is worth the wait". We were visiting London for a conference and my two colleagues had never had fish and chips before, so we found the closest and best fish and chip restaurant with gluten free options and we were not disappointed. The servers were all friendly and helpful regarding gluten free options, as well as giving me the option of just a battered sausage when I couldn't find an option on the menu. My colleagues were both extremely happy with their fish and chips, and I very much enjoyed my battered sausage and chips as well. While a bit more on the pricier side, it was definitely worth it. If I ever go back to London, I will try to return and maybe try the fish for myself as well. Thank you!

Hands down the best fish and chips I’ve had so far! I went with the haddock and chips, paired with their curry sauce — absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly crisp on the outside and flaky on the inside, and the curry added a great kick without overpowering the dish. I also tried the crispy oyster mushrooms, and they were an unexpected highlight — so moreish and full of flavor. A friend recommended The Mayfair Chippy and it was definitely worth the wait in the queue. Can’t wait to go back!

Didn’t have a reservation so had to wait for 30-45 mins to be seated which wasn’t too bad given the weather was bright and sunny. The service was good, friendly people. The food came out quick and went for standard cod and chips. It came with tartar, curry sauce and mushy peas. The tartar sauce was really good and went perfectly well with the fish. The curry sauce was good for the chips. The fish was fried well, flaky and moist fish and crispy exterior. My usual critic for all fish and chips is that seasoning is always less or the cod does not have too much flavour. Definitely on the pricey side, £25. But with the sauces and large portion of chips, it does make it worth a try!

Me and my hungry son found this establishment open quite late in the evening (10 p.m.). We thank again the establishment which closed at 10:30 p.m. for welcoming us. To save time, we ordered 2 fish and ships and a bottle of water. It was ok, well served, with 3 sauces for the fries. But the addition of more than 60 pounds was an unpleasant surprise. I was expecting a little over £40, no more, as the fish and chips were nothing to write home about.

We ordered the standard fish and chips(haddock) and it was great. The accompanying sauces were the cherry on top. We did not reserve table on a Saturday and walked in, had to wait about 30+ minutes in line before we got the table. This place is probably quite an old establishment so the atmosphere inside wasn't too over the top fancy or anything , but great quick service and great food! Highly recommend...don't forget to reserve table in advance!

We didn't have a reservation but I had read good reviews so we queued outside, which is normal. The young woman who was in charge of reception was great at first, she managed the queue well with a smile while gradually settling in the families who were waiting like us. On the other hand, once a table was ready, she told us the outcome: we only had one hour to eat… ok! So far so good. Except that it’s an hour in total, including the time spent waiting at the table before being served… Once settled, I wanted to go change (the diaper) of my 2 year old daughter and asked for the toilet, she told us that it was not possible but that we had to go right next door (shopping mall with toilets open to all and baby changing supplies —> ok good solution) While I went there quickly, she came by to kindly remind my partner that we only had an hour to eat! In short, we had to eat in a hurry and couldn't even have dessert, although we had asked for it! The young woman clearly blew in our faces when I dared to ask for the menu and then came back 3 seconds later to say “No, I’m sorry but no dessert possible because we have to clear the table! » Fortunately, we had a super nice and helpful waiter (I didn't ask his first name) who was able to put us at ease despite the stress that was constantly weighing on our shoulders... we dared to ask for 2 more mojitos and laughed together (with the waiter) because we weren't sure if we had "time to enjoy it". The stars are for him ;-) In short, it was a shame because they were delicious fish & chips served with 3 very good sauces. We wanted to end the evening on a good note but that wasn't really the case. Maybe we should have tried another Mayfair Chippy instead of the one near Oxford Street… We'll know for next time!

A semi-traditional fish and chip shop found in the most unlikely location. It’s a victim of its own success. Good luck getting in as there are always queues outside. We’ve actually never been able to return for a second visit!

The foood was amazing! Unfortunately our appetites were ruined when we found a piece of hair in our food 🥴 we let our server know just as for an “fyi”but the instant gaslighting we received was crazyyyy. She immediately said something along the lines of she saw our friend’s piece of hair go in the dish… 1) the hair was obviously not our friends 2) she didn’t acknowledge the issue at hand. After all of that, she defensively offered for us to speak to the manager. We kindly declined because we didn’t want to make the issue bigger. We just wanted to let her know of the incident as a heads up. A simple apology would have been sufficient! She later did offer for the dish to be remade but of course why would we accept the offer when no apology was made. Overall, food was great. Although, the response to the issue we experienced could have been better.

Do recommend the cod and haddock, however, their opentable booking service does not work. We had a table booked but were told that we were too late so they canceled our booking although we were 25 minutes too early and had our confirmation with us. If it were for only the waitress at the door I would have immediately left because of her rudeness. We then ended up waiting in the rain outside for about 40 minutes until we were assigned a table. The waiter inside was the complete opposite, very friendly, great with the kids and had great recommendations. The food itself was amazing, everyone was happy and full. I have had fish and chips before but this was really a great experience. For the food, atmosphere and everything inside it was one of the best places so far in this price range I had visited. Sadly, because of the outside experience and the long wait although we had a booking I cannot rate it with full 5 stars.

We went to both branches. The new Knightsbridge restaurant was disappointing. Both haddock and cod were overcooked and the batter was too thick and not crispy enough. The old Mayfair branch as good as ever. Both fish dishes beautifully cooked and the batter melted in your mouth. Chips superb at both places, mushy peas too runny in Knightsbridge, wonderful in Mayfair. Gavi amd chablis wines were delicious

It was good food , slightly over priced

If you are in London it is obligatory to have fish and chips. With Malt Vinegar, Mushy Peas, Tartare Sauce (and Curry Sauce if that’s your thing). A 2 minute walk from Selfridges - either go for lunch or be there by 5.30pm to avoid having to wait in line. If you are on your own you can typically get seated pretty quickly IN the window and watch the world go by. 1 portion of Fish & Chips is enough for 2 .. too much for 1 so it makes for an extra meal. The batter on the fish was good.. the fish a little tough - but since no one asked I didn’t say anything (my bad). I liked the little bag of candy given with the check .. at £35 for one portion of Fish & Chips with a Coke .. it’s on the pricier side .. but then of course it comes with personalized “Mayfair Chippy” paper underneath it. A good experience - chips were cooked perfectly

Despite being in the very fashionable Mayfair district retains a lot of the charm of a local chippy. Food is very good and not greasy, slick service and you can even book a table online.

Absolutely outstanding meal at Knightsbridge. The prawns are large and succulent, tasting how prawns should taste. The large chips are delicious and the peas with butter perfectly cooked. Tucked away just a short stroll from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street, Mayfair Chippy is a charming little spot that makes for a great lunch stop after a day of shopping in central London. The restaurant itself is quite small, with cosy and tightly packed seating, but the stylish decor adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. There’s a small amount of outdoor seating available too, which is great on a warm day. Service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and efficient. One thing to note for families: while they do offer a kids’ menu, you’ll need to ask for it, as it’s not listed on the main menu. We ordered the cod bites and chips for the kids. The cod—both in the regular and kids’ portions—was absolutely spot on. The batter was light and crispy, with the fish inside remaining perfectly moist. They also offer gluten-free and non-alcoholic batter options, which is a big plus for those with dietary preferences or restrictions. We tried the non-alcoholic battered cod and cod bites, and they were just as delicious as the traditional version. The only letdown was the chips. They were unfortunately overcooked—too crunchy and dry for our taste, which was a bit disappointing considering the otherwise high quality of the meal. The Mayfair Chippy sets the bar incredibly high with their light batter and delicious chips. This place is no joke, they really take care in their fish and chip delivery and presentation. Highly recommend - absolutely delicious. My only suggestion is that the queue be better controlled as every new comer tried to go directly into the shop and it was genuinely hard to watch. Truly a highlight of our London trip!! I learned of Mayfair Chippy on social media & immediately made reservations. Mayfair Chippy was our first meal in London. Oh. My. God!! Perfection ❤️ The fish is crispy, steaming hot and fried up just right. The chips are delicious too! To add to this experience, the aesthetics can't be beat. Every bite was a culinary and visual delight. If you are anywhere near this area, Mayfair Chippy is a must.

100% THE BEST Fish & Chips I have EVER had! Service was basic. Not memorable at all. People who sat at the table next to us (5min after we arrived) were taken care of before us, I even had to request to have our order taken, but everybody around us was asked if they were ready to order a minute or 2 after sitting down. Doesn’t make any sense. Requested a mojito with sprite instead of soda and the waiter told me mojitos are pre-made. Huh? Do you buy them in a bottle? A Can? I have NEVER been to any restaurant EVER where the mojitos are pre-made. Frozen drinks, even margaritas, yeah, some places do that… Mojitos? Wow. There is a first time for everything. And nope I did not have that pre-made mojito. I prefer my mojito with fresh mint and made to order. Tables inside are so close one cannot have any kind of conversation without tables on both sides hearing every single thing. Conclusion…. I will go again but next time will have mojitos somewhere else before coming to the restaurant and will get a table outside only.

This is absolutely my favourite fish and chips restaurant. We had to wait about 10 minutes for seating but it was well worth it. The food was an absolute delight. The fish was fresh and flaky and the chips were nice and chunky. They gave side dishes of mushy peas and coleslaw also curried gravy. It was a bit pricey but worth the visit.

The restaurant was quite good, but not extraordinary, to be honest. We ordered the fish and chips, which were very good, The shrimp cocktail was also decent. The restaurant itself is small, with tables placed too close to each other, making it a bit uncomfortable. As for the service, it was acceptable, but considering the restaurant has a Michelin Guide rating, I expected a higher standard. Additionally, you need to make a reservation in advance; otherwise, you’ll end up waiting for hours.

I went there with my family and it was amazing. I ordered fish and chips which was great. Food was delicious and freshy prepared. Our waiter Michaels was very friendly and helpful and gave me a excellent recommendation about the drinks. Would definitely come again and highly recommend. 😌
