Very good food and very kind staff! Advised

London is packed (though it's never enough, of course) with characterful pubs, serving great food and beer, often with significant heritage and exemplary quality. This is not a heritage pub or an "old fashioned boozer" in any way but I've been there a couple of times over the years and always been amazed at the range of top quality ale. Very, very good.

There will be a beer here you will like, and they will find it for you. They simply will.

Expectational pub, if you love beer, this is your place!! All sorts of flavours and varieties - quite innovative and creative id say. I love their only cider they do too - really tasty.

This pub scores incredibly highly for choice of beers with a fantastic selection. I was spoilt for choice. Food was OK and the pub felt really cold so bring a jumper! Definitely a place for a good pint.

Visited twice over the weekend. Fantastic range of drinks (not just beer). There was live music on Sunday evening and food is available, but we didn't sample. Very welcoming pub with great atmosphere.

We only drank, but the food looked very good.

Beer great and always worth a visit. Even better range of Keg beers to.go with the 10 Cask Ales. Go for it and enjoy! The range of beers today was so good with most 4+ beers

Landmark beer venue in Pimlico. Massive range of beer and knowledgeable staff. Good atmosphere. Little bit male-heavy (clientele) but all friendly. Recommended. (Didn’t eat so the 5* for food reflects the beer range)

A Pimlico oasis in a mad mad world (No Passport Required). An overwhelming selection of beers both from the keg and cask. Great fun with a delightful gentleman running the bar today! He has a great fashion sense too, shirts from Zegerman on Neal Street and from Wolff Blitz in Rotterdam. I love the "Vintage Cellar" selection. A lovely place and easy to find! Pop I. Lovely venue with excellent fare and an even more beguiling decor. Whilst a non-beer drinker, the range of brews on offer looked tantalising and varied.

Popped in for a drink. Sat outside for a bit. Moved inside later. Amazing selection of ales and craft beers. Will be back!

My wife and I come in once or twice a week. Peter (the owner) is always fantastic and somehow always has time to say hello, no matter how busy the bar is. The selection is incredible, so if you love beer you’ve come to the right spot! It is the best pub in London, unmatched when it comes to variety and service. I’m happy to be a regular at this lovely establishment

Unique dark beer ! Great service!

Sadly we didn't get to try the food as they were chef had just started cleaning the cooker, which seemed odd as you'd have thought they would do that before opening, true we were there just after 12, but still. Was looking forward to a burger with my pint. Selection of craft was astounding if arguably more expensive than I would have expected for the quality. 9quid for a pint of 4% sesh ale, you'd expect it to be verdant level. Sadly it was not. Saying that not everywhere has a lambic and a saison on draft. The saison, an odd muted affair. Thankfully the lambic was a winner, even respectable at 8quid for a third, considering a bottle usually goes for North of 20quid atleast. The barman was very pleasant and greeted us enthusiastically and even gave us a little background to the beers, if we weren't already aware that is. Will definitely visit again though, if we're ever in that part of town

Fairly unassuming from the outside, it has a modern and friendly inside. First blessing was that the music, unlike a lot of other pubs, isn't too loud to have a conversation through. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about their wide array of beers. Prices were surprisingly reasonable too. Definitely recommend this place .

The place is great in everything. The original ambiance it creates, its wide variety of excellent beers etc. But most importantly, the owner's sincere kindness and friendly conversation. I really enjoyed being here for 2 evenings of my trip. Thank you very much. He is probably the only business owner in my life whose hand I shook and said goodbye to when leaving.

Lovely place to eat and call in for a huge selection of drinks. Caters for everything.

Small pub. A few tools, but most of the patrons were standing outside on the pavement drinking. The old atmosphere that I associated with pubs in London was missing.

Cannot give more stars because 5/5 is the highest. The food is incredible! I had a mushroom and hallumi burger and every single ingredient was perfect! Also, the variety and quality of beers is great! Music, atmosphere, service… everything was awesome! Thank you! We’ll definitely come back as make it our local favourite go-to!

A pub done right. The selection beers is fantastic, if you like a drink, but not just to get drunk, here is a great place to enjoy a fine ale or lager. The gentlemen behind the bar was very pleasant to talk to. We bought a couple of burgers, and they were absolutely delicious. Coming back here for sure.

Always love my visits to this wonderful Pimlico ale house Not a dud pint in my countless selections. They love cask and craft beer as much as I do. Food is classic and expertly sourced local butcher burgers and pork pies Sunday afternoon generally has a bluegrass jam that is very popular. The staff are warm and helpful. The customers diverse. The atmosphere has a relaxed respectful vibe. When the playlist starts classic Brit tunes and 60’s retro, the combination between 60’s inspiration and contemporary best of Britain is complete. This is a pub for the community not for the divisive or the haters. Love reign o’er me from The who’s quadophenia is just playing now. Top marks.

Ordered a burger which taste was superb but a little bit overcooked and dry for me. The variety and quality of beers is amazing, loved it. Overall will recommend and define will be back.

Fantastic selection of beers. Really friendly and helpful staff. The manager is a great chap, really cares and always up for a chat. The crowd is generally good. Ambiance is good. The one downside is that this will not be your cheapest trip to the pub. Come in recognising that and you'll have a lovely time.

Had Lakedown pale Ale and a couple of Lakedown Firefall. Both beers were fantastic. Bar staff were helpful, and the beers I had were on their recommendation after I said what I liked. Definitely worth a visit.

Came for the vintage cellar but left very disappointed. The prices are just insane. For example, they are asking £115 bottle of Cantillon 50°N from 2022. For context, Cantillon are currently selling a bottle of the 2023 50°N for €14 directly from the brewery, meaning you can get a return Eurostar ticket, come home with a few bottles to spare, and still be left with change in the pocket compared to what Cask are charging. Maybe the 2022 version is worth a 10x mark up though? Not wanting a wasted trip I ordered a Pannepot Vintage from 2016 for £16 (in Belgium this would cost around half this price). Despite being a young beer relatively, it had soured so clearly had not been stored well. This place is no Kulminator unfortunately.

Nice pub, great selection of beers with nice glasses. The toilets smelt of strawberries and were lovely and clean which is a rare find in London!

Random walk in, didn't check the reviews, walked to the bar and was blown away by the choice. I went with the Martina and it's so damn bloody good. These guys know and love good beer it appears. If here check out the vintage beer menu too.... Wow... Wasn't surprised to see here get a 4.6 on Google, the owners know their stuff and the staff friendly. Nice atmosphere and a real good 70s/80s playlist too... Bravo Peter and Martin.

A hidden gem in Pimlico 2 steps from Victoria station. Not the usual traditional English pub but a fresh, young and welcoming place. Excellent food and large selection of beers, and if you have doubts about what to choose at the counter there is Peter, a multilingual able to dispel any doubts about the drink to choose. Highly recommended for English people but also for foreigners. Good luck to my health.

🚇 Pimlico 🍺 £6.70 Yes IPA The Cask Pub & Kitchen is located in a residential area in Pimlico SW1. The nearest Tube is Pimlico, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This pub opened in 2009 as London's first craft beer focussed pub. This site used to be the home of The Pimlico Tram pub named after the Tram that used to travel between Pimlico and Brixton. This pub is part of the Grade II listed Lillington Gardens Estate which was built in the 1960’s. This is a bright and airy one bar pub that is surprisingly spacious inside. The servery is situated on the back wall and has a high gloss wood grained counter. The decor is modern with a mixture of traditional and contemporary seating, the orange banquettes really stand out. There is a herringbone floor throughout, around the walls are unique framed beer prints. For the warmer months there are tables and chairs around the front of the pub. The beer selection is impressive with 10 cask options, 32 taps and a multitude of bottles plus a Vintage Beer Cellar to choose from. Prices range from £5.50 Pints up to a vintage Belgium bottled beer (deep breath) that costs £1850. I stayed within budget and decided on a pint of Yes IPA, my pint was excellent, price point was a little high. The food menu is a selection of burgers with vegan and veggie options, a Cheeseburger and fries costs £17.50. I arrived around 5pm on a Friday afternoon for an afterwork pint. The pub was fairly busy with a mixed crowd of beer connoisseurs, local workers and those in the know. The atmosphere was chilled and relaxed as punters enjoyed their variety of tipples. I had a catch up with one of the owners who is clearly passionate about all things beer. We spoke about trade and some of the challenges he faces with more people now working from home post covid. I must admit, i’m not the most adventurous drinker but visiting the @caskpubsw1 was a very enjoyable experience. We dropped in here and although the interior is not your typical english pub (very cafeteria like, new and colourful) it offered a ton of different beers. Thankfully I found a nice, crisp blonde one that did the trick (I don’t like funky, hoppy stuff). There were basically only burgers on the menu but they were pretty good. It was a touch spendy to have to order burgers for each kid but there were no other options. The highlight was that there was this cool, acoustic band that just started playing in the middle of the room and they were so good!

Fantastic find in Pimlico and amazingly friendly and knowledgeable staff about their various ales, beers and lagers. Stopped by with a colleague as it's his local. Wish it was mine, but I'm a bit away in Oval. If only all pubs could deliver this service. 😍

Exceptional range of beers, friendly helpful bar staff, and on my visit today some great live acoustic music (not too loud at all though, for people who still like to be able to talk inside). First time I'd visited but will definitely be back.

I got the chicken sandwich close to when their kitchen was closing after arriving in London. It was excellent and the fries were perfect. The beer selection is vast and service is great! Highly recommend!

I just remembered this place. The food may not be that good, after all it's a typically British establishment, but the beers deserve their own book. Respect!

One of the best craft beer bars in Zone 1, with lots and lots of beers on tap. It was a hot day when I popped in, and I enjoyed a very cold Flensburger lager. Lovely atmosphere - full of drinkers with great taste!

Nice location, clean and great staff. Was nice to find a place without a TV, so that we could actually have a conversation without losing my voice. Had the best time Cajun, which ain't listed below. Was really nice and a flavourful.

A good vibe as soon as you enter, great atmosphere and justifiable so. We tried the cask ales which regrettably were not of good quality, the focus on quality seeming to be more on the craft beers. We ordered two burgers which took near on 45 minutes to arrive. The meat was clearly good quality, juicy and with good flavour. We enjoyed both burgers. Overall, we would happily return albeit without the long food wait next time.

Update to my previous review. Visited on the 8th of June 2024 for their 15th birthday celebrations. What a fantastic afternoon and evening! Absolutely packed! Selection of special ales and beers for the weekend was exceptional. Everyone behind the bar worked their socks off. This place goes from strength to strength. Well done everyone! Heres to the next 15! Previous review below:- Had a great lunch here. The burgers are just excellent, with a really generous portion of lovely fries. Prices fair for this area. The ales and beers are just fantastic. About 10 cask ales on, lots of keg and fridges full of bottles from all over the world. Cask ales fairly priced for this area. Kegs and bottled beers could be a touch cheaper. But well worth a visit. Recommended.

Staying locally and after a long day of the tourist stuff the search was on for a walkable pub. The Cask hit the mark, from reading the reviews. It was 8ish and all the pubs were busy, street side drinking, had concerns about getting a table. We had a plan B, walking up the place looked busy. But one lone table! So nice. Don’t let the street crowds scare you Beer selection, wow, just wow. The staff was great, directed me, helped me, served me. Everything is ordered at the bar. Food is brought to you. Had a burger, yeah pretty good. It’s advertised as a modern pub, good description. I’d go back.
