Went in today as we saw a review saying they had Gluten Free options, we are so glad we did. Most things on the menu can be made gluten free, the server was very helpful and knowledgeable, she was able to answer all of our questions with a smile and without referring to the usual long and complicated manual that many places seem to have. The Gluten Free roll was the best we have ever tasted; and the ‘Blue and brisket’ burger was truly amazing. We are probably a bit older than their usual customers and to us the food tasted like burgers used to, before hell invented the fast food chains.

Go go go. This is the place to be for the best burger in the word, and I know my burgers🤤 Staff is super friendly and helpful. To bad I can only visit once.

Very tasty food. The majority is made on the premises. Good portions. Homemade desserts. Nice atmosphere. Very busy. Hard working friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We visited route 66 tonight and must say we was overall very impressed. It was extremely busy on arrival, we was seated quickly and was asked if we wanted drinks. Are drinks arrived promptly and are food order was taken, our food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering. The food was hot and very nice especially the chunky chips. Our server was brilliant, very polite and nothing was to much trouble considering she was rushed off of her feet! She was taking orders clearing tables, seating customers, taking payments and delivering food to tables! Excellent service so good we left her a tip and well deserved. Will definitely visit again.

Very disappointed, been previously and this time food was not great, burgers were very small and staff left us for half an hour before removing our empty plates and never spoke and asked if we wanted dessert or anything else so we paid and left. Definitely won’t be returning.

Great value and great burgers. Haven’t eaten here for quite a long time but will definitely be back. We had the two course menu for £12.50 which was excellent value for delicious burgers.

Fantastic food and service my grandchildren love it there and the menu is extensive so suits vegetarians and meat eaters

The diner has a wonderful classic look and some reflective and attractive pictures on the wall and other objects to style the place up immensely including a jukebox where music is played and vinyl discs on the wall near the counter. And with the food, all good tasting and burgers here are one of the best I’ve had and the ribs was to but as the menu has changed the ribs changed to disappointingly. But the staff are more than happy to cook the food to my standards. Sam, the owner is wonderfully helpful and accommodating and cooks food well.

Saturday night takeaways in this house have been sadly disappointing in recent times, so we decided to try somewhere new (to us) although Route 66 has been established in the town for a good few years now - always late to the show! We ordered burgers and loaded fries each and I can honestly say they were some of the best we’d tried. Husband and myself are burger fans and we know a decent burger! Tasty and generous with toppings and likewise the fries. Everything arrived hot and although not cheap, it wasn’t the most expensive treat we’d had. Will definitely be returning if only to try a peanut butter shake next time - which are my weakness! Thank you for turning around our Saturday night takeaways.

Ordered 2 smokehouse burgers, a seasoned chips, 12 onion rings plus a kids meal hot dog via JustEat and it arrived in just under 20 mins. All the food was hot, delicious, and great value for money. Highly recommended and great to support our local eatery. Thank you!

We enjoyed a pre theatre meal at this fabulous establishment. The food is great and reasonable priced. The people are lovely, friendly and efficient.

Never had any reason to complain about Route 66 but it just so happens that I ordered their apple pie and when I opened the box and took a closer look at it I noticed that there was fingerprints all over it, which was very disappointing as I’d expect them to handle food properly, with gloves.

Ordered a takeaway through JustEat. It arrived on time and piping hot. Chilli chips and cheesy bacon chips, halloumi burger and smokehouse burger were all thoroughly enjoyable, fresh and very filling. Will be ordering again soon.

Wow to say this place is terrible is underselling it. Everything coated in paprika but this not a mention on the menu avoid avoid avoid

I ordered a pizza, chips and Mac and cheese bites and wow, they were all lovely. This is the first time I’ve ordered from them and it was a breeze, arrived on time and still really hot😁 the pizza was so much better than any other takeaway in Haverhill! Full of flavour and not greasy 10/10 would recommend

I visited with my family of 5 last night for dinner. We hadn't booked a table & the restaurant was almost full due to the social distancing regulations. A lovely young lady however came over to greet up & said she'd 'try to squeeze us in somewhere' which she did! Restricted menu as expected but the service & food were both top class! Would highly recommend. The waiting girls were clearly rushed off their feet but still greeted us everything with a smile & cheerful manner. MASSIVE WELL DONE TO ALL! We will be back!

We have ordered a few times from here during lockdown. Food is amazing and well packaged. Ordered the biscoff cheesecake - wow!

Came here for a party with my friends. The food was delicious especially the chips. The burgers were very nice too. We had such a great time here and the milkshakes were tasty too. Would definitely come back here with friends or family. Lovely food. Xx

During the current pandemic, these guys have effortlessly switched to takeaway and delivery and boy have they done it well! Last might we had our third takeaway from them - each time the food has been delivered on time; hot and absolutely delicious. The takeaway menu is more limited than the restaurant but each burger is served with all the trimmings and portions are big. And the service is outstanding too. Cannot recommend enough and we’ll definitely be having more takeaways from them.

Due to the crazy pandemic they’ve switched to takeaway orders and like always the food is amazing and always comes hot and fresh. I ordered my food very easily and scheduled the time for the food to come and it came on the dot! The staff and owner are doing absolutely amazing during this difficult period to adapt in such little time and for it to be a great success! For anyone thinking of trying this place out, you won’t regret it! (My fav is the cheesy bacon fries)

Had our 1st takeaway and could not fault any aspect, the food was hot and on time, was absolutely gorgeous,i highly recommend the ribs, reasonably priced and the online ordering was ease free. Will defo be having more. Top work, keep it up.

Been using Route 66 for delivery during lockdown and very impressed! Our first time trying them as haven’t yet been into the restaurant (tut tut) but we will when they open! Food is delicious, hot when it arrives which is always timely and excellent service. Well done for serving the town safely during this time!

We had a takeaway delivered due to the Coronavirus. It was really good. Phoned the order through in the afternoon which was an easy thing to do. Got the time slot I wanted and could either pay by bank transfer or cash. Seems really well organised. The food arrived bang on time and really hot. Thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Great service and great food and well done on showing great initiative during these difficult times. Thoroughly recommended.

Small but cosy in a good way. I visited with my other half for some lunch and we were greeted with friendly staff, great value and tasty food and drinks! Thickshakes were some of the best I've had.Would definitely recommend to others and look forward to coming back soon!

Food was great, especially burgers. Went for family dinner at night. Seats are looking a bit tired now , could do with replacing but overall a nice evening. Atmosphere was cheerful and staff were on the ball. Comparatively priced not the cheapest place to eat but not the dearest either.

I've been here before and it it was fine upon visiting again I was extremely disappointed the mozzarella dippers were horrible, my burger tasted horrible, slow service won't go there again.

Route 66 have just launched their breakfast menu which is served up to 2pm. Wow their breakfast is amazing and such good value. A great way to enjoy breakfast on a Sunday morning. Great food, great atmosphere and you are sure to get a warm welcome. We will surely be coming back to this restaurant time and time again.

Went to this restaurant with my son during lunch break as he was doing work experience at my work. Have to say this is the best burger I’ve had in a long time. The flavour was great. The fries were perfect. Service was good too. I highly recommend paying them a visit.

Visited here with my husband and my parents who were over from America. The menu was varied and inexpensive and the quality of the food was very good. We asked a lot of questions about the ingredients and it did not seem too much trouble for the waitress to confirm what we needed to know.

Just been here for my first time. I was not disappointed. I had the steak, fries and salad and a bottle of budweiser. I'd be surprised if you left there feeling hungry. Great service and fantastic good. I will definitely be going back.

And we was not disappointed. I had the chicken platter and it was huge, the wings were lovely and spicy, the Southern fried chicken was lovely. The chicken breast was but dry but still nice. My partner had steak and ribs and my daughter had ribs they were amazing. The decor is looking very tired and the seats have worn away but I'm not there to stare at the chairs.

Currently in Route 66 on a visit to haverhill.The staff cannot do enough for us as our son needs gluten free food.Top quality food,Well presented,and very very nice.Excellent staff and a lovely atmosphere.If in Haverhill again will certainly call in again.

We've been here many times for a cheap and cheerful family meal and can highly recommend it. Our kids absolutely love the hotdogs and oreo sundaes and we always enjoy the nachos and burgers. The owners are doing a great job and always make us feel welcome. The quality of food is so much better than in the chain restaurants and it's excellent value for money too.

Quick visit here before the cinema. Big portions, great food too and for such good value - four adults all had two courses with wine and milkshakes and the total bill was £54! Perfect place to take kids and teens too.

The kids picked to eat here as a end of half term treat, we only had mains and milkshakes and again was not disappointed.

Great diner style restaurant, good menu, really reasonably priced, food was served quickly and was of good quality, we had 2 beers, a pint of coke, nachos and loaded skins to start, chilli burger and chicken burger both with paprika fries for mains and a Banoffee sundae for dessert and it came to £36.

I went on a weekday (around 5pm). There was one member of staff on; I was the only person in the restaurant. I asked for the Fish Platter, which arrived without delay. The prawns were translucent, so I awaited the member of staff to come over to ask if everything was ok; that did not happen so I ate the salmon and part of fishcake, with some fries. When the member of staff noticed I had finished he came over and (at last) asked if everything was ok. I replied it was lovely BUT the prawns were not cooked (and explained why). He apologised then took my plate; however there were no customer service type questions e.g. can I cook some more prawns for you OR can I get you anything else to instead of the prawns? Two minutes later the bill was presented; there was no deduction to reflect the uncooked prawns, which I expected given I had not been asked if I would like something else (or cooked prawns!). There was no focus on customer satisfaction. Very disappointing, given that the restaurant looked really nice. Unfortunately my first and last visit to this place.

Can’t recommend Route 66 enough. We have never had a bad visit. The food is amazing, everyone is so friendly and you get great value for your money. Highly recommended.

We visited today for lunch on Mother's day with a group aged between 11 months and 73 years. There was something for everyone. The food is a family friendly price, the service was good and the food was tasty.

Having read some of the adverse reviews I was concerned about visiting Route 66 but I can only say that those reviews must have ben for a completely different restaurant. It was excellent and I was more than happy with the service. We had the burger with cheese and bacon followed by cheesecake. One of the interesting European touches was to have the French fries dusted with Paprica, something I have not had outside Poland and Hungary for many years. The home made cheesecake was superb. Not some supermarket cheap and nasty special offer but a real New York vanilla cheesecake. I see that some complain about the vinyl covering on the bench seats but these are authentic period features and should be retained at all costs. Finally, the toilets and washrooms were excellent, clean and well laid out. Much improved from the usual facilities found in England. Well done and long may this establishment prosper.

Recently went for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed a very good meal. The service was great with warm and friendly staff. Food didn't take very long to arrive and was piping hot and so enjoyable. Well worth a visit and will be back again very soon.

My family and I visit this restaurant on occasion and every time is no less then amazing! The extensive choice on the menu, friendly servers, fun atmosphere and brilliant food always impress us. If you're looking for a place to eat in Haverhill and enjoy American style food, this is the place to go. Always amazing!

My wife and I had never visited Route 66 until a few days ago. We looked for alternative restaurant for lunch and decided to try Route 66. There was nothing to dislike. The food was good and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. We will definitely be going back there.

Always loved the food here. The smoke house burger is fantastic. Service is brilliant and food cooked to perfection.

Sweet potato fries were excellent and the service was fab - really helpful and accomodating. If you're Vege go for the Falafel burger or have Quorn as the Vege burgers are the vegetable ones deep fried - if you were Vege in the 80's or 90's you'll know the ones I mean. The starter and main for £8.99 are great value and the choice of dishes were pretty extensive and very tasty.

My partner and I were staying in Haverhill for work and were looking for somewhere to eat. We came across Route 66 and were delighted with our experience. The service was excellent and the meal was served at a great pace and was reasonably priced. The quality of the food was excellent. We will definitely return.

Love there ribs, amazing milk shake. Highly recommend going for a meal there, great staff. There steaks and burgers are, well worth the prices with choices of many sides.

Nice airy American themed burger bar. Good choice of burgers and able to accommodate fussy eater with no fuss. Nice and clean would highly recommend.

The burgers are from a local butcher's and are gluten free. You can have them in a gluten free bun if you wish. Very tasty and great value for money. As my wife is a coeliac they went to the trouble of getting in some cider so that she could have an alcoholic drink. Great service from very friendly staff.

We had just 55 minutes to spare before a show at the Arts Centre next door, I had previously scanned the menu to ensure there was a choice for Mrs Dryhen, who is a veggie. The place was busy when we entered Route 66 at 6pm , so the pressure was on to get more than a starter ! But there was no need for concern. My starter of battered prawns with a tasty side salad came quickly, followed by a very good chicken-breast burger with skinny fries and salad.. Mrs Dryhen went for a Falafel Burger and sweet-potato chips which was judged as very tasty, and vaguely Slimming-World friendly ! A glass of Merlot, and small Budweiser completed our meal, which we happily paid for at 6.55 pm ! A nice touch was when one of the owners specifically asked how much the Falafel burger was enjoyed, as it seems few people ask for it. This place is certainly veggie friendly.

This is a very classic and stylish American diner with professional suitable music on a jukebox to suite the diner and one man was very friendly as well. The chips so fast are my favourite part of the meal and with great seasoning.

Had a family get together for my brother in laws birthday went for the two courses for £8.99 I started with place goujons followed by classic burger and fries both dishes were tasty great value for money.

Visited here with my work partner and young lad I support. This place is really lovely they are wheelchair friendly, did their best to make sure my meal was vegan. It was delicious as well.

Sólo nos metimos en batidos ya habíamos oído cosas buenas acerca de ellos y que habíamos prometido nuestro hijo de 5 años un regalo especial. El personal era estupendo, rápido servicio amable y buena con nuestro hijo. Batidos eran fabulosas y mirando el menú de comida ya estamos planeando otra visita muy pronto como parece demasiado bueno para no!

Esto no era nuestra primera visita, así que donde encontramos la comida estaba hecha y extremadamente salado, hasta el punto que no podía acabar la comida. Los batidos eran fabulosas.

Paramos aquí en nuestro camino de viajar a casa, el personal es muy servicial, cortés y amable. Teníamos una mezcla de entrantes, hamburguesas y corporales que eran todas muy agradables. Todos nos lo pasamos muy bien y cuando estamos otra vez tengo que hacer otra parada en boxes de nuestros viajes.

Muy buena comida, el servicio al cliente fue muy buena, con un personal amable y servicial. Yo tenía una envoltura de barbacoa de cerdo desmenuzado y patatas fritas y era preciosa. Familia disfrutamos de sus hamburguesas. Compartimos un maravilloso chocolate brownie entre dos de nosotros ya estábamos llenos. ¡volveremos!

Enjoyed a Sunday light lunch here. We arrived as the only customers but others soon followed. The floor was dirty despite the staff having plenty of time on their hands - a bit weird. The service was very good and friendly and food was quick and very nice. I recommend the milkshakes and jacket potatoes which were huge. The kids menu is decent value at £3.99 for main and was enjoyed. Will try a burger next time.

Went here recently and regretted it straight away, food all over the floor, tables dirty and staff complained about how busy they had been. Food was mediocre, we had to ask for cutlery as none was given to us. Never again

I've visited Route 66 a few times now and found the food to arrive quickly, be plentiful and of really good quality. My family always want to go though there when they visit too. A very enjoyable experience!

First meal here after hearing good things. Service absolutely fine. Atmosphere friendly. Ordered fajita wrap with fries part of set meal deal. When food arrived chips were coated in paprika and fajita wrap was spiced more than I anticipated. Unfortunately I couldn't eat it. The combination of spice and then paprika on chips meant I could only taste a spicy zing, not the fajitas.Advised waitresses I was not happy & that I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd realised how spiced the food was. Also it did not state on menu there was a paprika coating on the fries. Initially waitress was unsure if they could stretch to cooking another wrap but another waitress took over & offered me something else. I had a plain burger free of charge.The waitress did say most people knew there was spice on the chips, but as it was our first visit and it wasn't highlighted on the menu, I had no idea when I ordered.I did have a free burger as a substitute for the wrap, and an apology, but I still did pay the whole price for the meal I didn't eat.I would go again, as my husband and son enjoyed their food and they did their best when I complained, but next time I'll be asking for fries minus any coating!

Just popped in for a bite to eat, it's the third time we've eaten here and as always it was excellent , the food, staff and atmosphere are fantastic, an absolute must.Cheers GuysAlan

Please ignore all bad reviews. I live in Haverhill and have eaten and enjoyed cocktails here at least 10 times. Every single time I have been the food is outstanding and excellent value for money (all the meat is locally sourced from a nearby butchers). I cannot fault it. The cocktails are better than I have had at top London cocktail bars (no exaggeration) and the service is second to none! Please support local businesses like this ... you won't be disappointed.

Aye here last minute and they were bey kind to find me a table in the corner despite them being really busy and having a couple of parties in.Food was really nice, burgers and wings etc - the milkshakes and coleslaw were really great.Good value and a relaxed environment. Family friendly.

A typical place to have your kids birthday party, but take your own cake. Not a nice as it could be as food is very basic and boring

Called in on 24th February 2017 with a party of 8. The service was good and decided to have wine to drink with our food at £10 a bottle which was perfectly drinkable.The service was good and we decided to have 2 courses from the set menu at a cost of £8.99 which was good value for money and the main course was a good plateful

We visited Route 66 as a large group of 10 to celebrate a friends birthday, we were a mixed group of Adults and children. The food was great for the price. There did seem however to be some issue between two of the wait staff working there, not sure what the problem was but they were not working together as a team one seemed to be trying to put the other one down and it made for an awkward situation. A couple of the orders couldn't be filled because they had run out of an ingredient but hey that happens and other alternatives were found. One of our party was gluten free and she was catered for brilliantly with main courses, however only vanilla ice cream was available for dessert but we were told there is a menu change happening soon to add more choices for her. Due to the wait staff ongoing tiff and the alternative food having to be altered the desserts we ordered were taken off the bill for our whole group without us even asking, we were pretty impressed by that. Now to the highlight of the meal...... chocolate brownie dessert it was absolutely delicious no frozen reheated thing at Route 66 just a good helping of homemade delicious chocolatey gooiness, I will be going back even if it's just for another helping of that!

What a waste of almost £33!!!First question I asked was the milkshake glass big, was told it was and I'm guessing you couldn't even get a can of coke in the glass that was provided! The banana one was undrinkable but the other 2 were ok. Left thirsty due to the size of the of the milkshakes. We ordered our food then the waitress come back and informed us ribs were out of stock (as a fast food store manager myself I always know what products I have in stock and instruct my staff accordingly). We adjusted our order, I ordered food with no tomato (due to allergy), the started turned up with tomato on it and the burger had bits of tomato on it so clearly one had been placed on there then taken off, nice... I brought it up and the food was changed but not a fresh burger. I'm waiting to see if I get bad now...The food wasn't up to their normal standard, the starters were a little over done but the main wasn't however quite bland in taste. Do t think I'll come back after this which is a shame as my family and myself have been coming here for a couple of years...

First time visit just before Christmas excellent food and very well pricedI was also impressed with the range of original American beverages and all the ingredients including the condiments were from the United States. In our party of six we had a wide range of different starters mains. Everybody was happy with their food which came out hot and well presented; the burgers were absolutely stunning can really taste the quality beef. We will definitely return

I have been here a couple of times, once with my partner and another with my friend and her young son. The food was great on both occasions. it's freshly cooked tasty food at a great price! The staff are helpful and friendly and I would definitely recommend visiting here for a decent lunch or dinner.
