Great eatery just of Euston station, loved the roti and their dips. The roti’s are definitely the to go for for, they are amazing, It’s worth the 30 minutes wait. Authentic Malaysian food at a low price. They don’t serve beer although you can bring your own for £12.5.

The food was fantastic and worth the queuing but I realise the reason for the queue is slow sand disjointed service. 3 of us received our mains but had to wait 15 mins for the last member of the group to receive theirs. Starters arrived 20 mins before mains. It's a very small place so this shouldn't happen when you're only serving half a dozen tables. The atmosphere is great and it's buzzing inside. I would definitely recommend it for the food.

Roti was delicious. 10/10 they are the king of roti however everything everything else was average. The mutton curry was dry and all the portions are tiny. Waitress got our order wrong twice and we were charged for something extra on the menu. Very cramped seating area so was uncomfortable, long queues, not wheelchair or disability friendly, toilet is tiny. Half of these problems would be solved by having a bigger premises. Won't be back.

For the food alone, 5 stars. The roti was beautifully soft and flaky, and the dahl was perfectly balanced in flavour. Food arrived quickly after ordering and was very satisfying. The service left something to be desired - I was put in a corner between another table and the door, by a waitress who seemed pretty fed up and not interested in making a good impression. The other waitress who gave me the bill was more friendly. Be ware that it is a small space, and therefore becomes very loud during peak times (I visited at 18:15). Unavoidable, but does taint the overall experience and as someone with sensory sensitivities it was a bit too much (far louder than a usual restaurant). So - recommended indeed, on the basis of the food, but maybe opt for the takeaway option.

Authentic food! Had the fish roti canai, mushroom rendang and teh tarik. I recommend them all. But what’s even more amazing are the people working there. I came by on 31 Jul evening and dropped my fob through the wooden platform while queuing up. A European male and a South Asian male staff were so helpful and persistent in retrieving my fob. Sorry I didn’t get their names but they deserve a raise! They went out of their way to help me. It was the most kindness anyone has showed me in London. Thank you both again! They automatically add 10% service on the bill at the end and then gave us the card machine with options for how much service charge we want to add. On further clarification this was an additional service charge. So if we selected 10% it would have charged us an additional 10%. 20% total?! You need to choose, add service to the bill or give the customer a choice when paying. Doing both without mentioning something is wrong

Day: Saturday Time: 16:55 No queue so I popped downstairs into the basement having had this a free The roti was warm but wasn't JUST out of the. The curry was nice but has been presented better (green leaf) which was missing. It was good but could have been better if it was presented nicely and also the roti was HOT not warm. As in once cooked straight to my table. I was doing alone but I don't think the atmosphere is a calm one, it's a quick eat-and-go situation. Which is fine but people who want to come here should no there won't be any dishes 'announced' 🤣. Pretty much slam down and eat slurp bye!I want to end this on a big for the chicken curry was delicious, tender thigh and a rich gravy. Loved that but know this isn't by an y means fine dining and the presentation seems to have slipped. Oops.

Not worth the wait, we were waiting for approximately 20-30 minutes outside as they do not take reservations. The restaurant is small with space for around 25 people in total. The food was mediocre and without much flavour or spice. The portions aren't very big either and depending what you get you might still end up hungry. The service is poor. One person who ordered a meat dish was handed the vegetarian dish meant for someone else, and the waiter didn't even announce what the dish was. Then when questioned about it they just took back the dish rudely and just said to wait. Then they came with the meat dish and gave this to the vegetarian on the table and when we said it is meat they rudely took it away. I also waiting 10 minutes when I asked for sambal, given that the restaurant is small and sambal is preprepared I should have to wait till my food gets cold to add some spice to my dish that was meant to be flavourful. There are much better Malaysian restaurants in London. Perhaps if the wait wasn't so bad then the lack of food quality wouldn't be an issue.

We queued up for this experience in the rain and all the way through, we were incredibly excited and hoping for a truly magnificent Malaysian experience. With my friend and I having been to Malaysia, feel the taste test was perfectly suited for us! The service was great, member of staff came out to ask how many we needed a table for and whilst we queued she came out twice and it was nice to know they didn’t just leave us outside but were aware that we were waiting. Nice touch! We walked down the stairs to be sat on a bench amongst other eaters. Not very COVID compliant but, but sure did make us feel that we weren’t in Euston but in a Malaysian cafe abroad! Ambience was perfect, overlooking the kitchen. We had full sight of the phenomenal magic the chefs were creating. The servers were polite, attentive and aware. We ordered an array of food and for drinks we opted for the pulled Malaysian tea, hot and cold. Both were delicious and just like the flavour profiles I remember enjoying in scorching Malaysia, wow. The food was presented beautiful. We enjoyed Beef rendang, nasi lemak, nasi goreng, and the belachung. We loved it all. The roti, so flaky and soft and yum and the beef was cooked to perfection, literally falling apart. The food was all served fresh and tickled every taste bud I had. I am salivating as I write the review and although it’s not been 24hours since I enjoyed all the yummy food, I would quite happily have it all over again.

Iv been trying to get a complaint department for head office but can't even get a phone number, I want to investigate this as its not happening in no other branchs, I would like to discuss this with a senior manager, as if this is the case then I will start to make people aware that they are coning customers, I'm a professional chef and run business in the past and I can't stand restaurant cutting corners and coning customer, iv did regomed to atleast 100 people but I can just as easy say how roti king is coning customer. Roti King's chicken murtabak was a revelation: it *IS* possible to make chicken THIS tasteless and dry. Yeah, it was so underwhelming, it's rather remarkable! I love chicken and I don't think I ever had a chicken that tasted that bad. To be fair, my friend liked her vegetarian options. The dahl kari that came with my dish was also fine - so it's quite possible the rest of the menu is cats pajamas. Possible - but I'm not willing to give this place another try. I simply cannot forgive them the chicken. A bird's life wasted in vain. Besides, there isn't much to return for. The ambiance is non-existent, the service is robotic (but at least timely) - the place has no personality WHATSOEVER. What so ever. No personality AND they can't cook the chicken. Gah!

We ordered 1 veg char kway teow, 1 nasi goreng, 1 murtabak and 1 roti canai for the table. Flavours- Flavours were a hit and miss. Murtabak and roti canai were on point. However, the char kway teow was sweet ( I have had it many times, and never found it to be sweet). Infact, I was expecting a a spicy preparation. Nasi goreng too was a miss in flavour. Portion size- For the price and for Malayasian food in general, I would definitely say that the portion size was tiny. Shrinkflation was quite evident on the plates. Overall- Based on the fame of the restaurant, I was expecting to fall in love with the food, and visit again considering I work closeby. Had a bad experience today at Euston Branch. My wife arrived around 2030 hrs. and joined the queue as I have to find a parking. My wife was told that she can't come in until the two of us is present on the queue. It was starting to rain when I arrived so we decided to wait near the stairs so we can see the menu on the wall as well. It is not particularly busy at that time as it is just the two of us waiting at that time. Unfortunately, we were told by the staff that we can't wait by the stairs as they said that people can't wait there for safety reasons. I argued that there are Uber and deliveroo driver's are waiting on the stairs and how they are allowed on the stairs. Patrick have to call the manager on duty and the manager said that only drivers are allowed on the stairs. If this is a safety issue no one should be allowed waiting by the stairs at all. We have no options but to go back on the queue outside. After few minutes we were called to come in. We sat on a table with the other 2 people waiting with us outside the queue. We ordered Roti with Chicken and Beef rendang with rice. The Roti chicken is not particularly good. My wife said that we should have ordered the mutton. We followed up the beef rendang as the Roti chicken is nearly finished. I patiently waited and when we ask Patrick for the beef rendang he argued that we did not order for it. We were told that he can order it again but we opted to just leave and cut the disappointment. This is our first visit at Roti King Euston and I can say that it was not a good experience. The place is so cramped that you have to share the relatively small table with other people. It is not worth the wait and behaviour of the staff could have been better. I was the one ordering the food but the staff Patrick was looking towards my wife which I found a bit odd. I was really disappointed as I waited patiently only to be told that we only ordered Roti with chicken. If you are looking for a place to dine in and relax, this is definitely not the place for it.

Sauce was not addictive. Would not recommend. The nasi lemak was not bad. The fried chicken was a bit drive. Loved the peanuts and dried fish. The kangkung balacan or morning glory was way too salty. It was also a bit too chewy. The char kuey teow was delicious. It had wokhei. Not overly salty. I would recommend this dish. The hari laksa was okay. Not enough coconut flavour or seafood flavour. There was lots of noodles portion si r was not bad. But it wasn't addictive and I would not recommend it. The teh Tarik cold was not too sweet but helped calm down the saltiness from the dishes. Overall I thought the food was okay. A lot of the dishes were way too salty. The char kuey teow was the best dish. Would definitely recommend that dish. Everything else was meh

The food is great and the service but be aware the waiting time queuing outside is quite long. It's a very small restaurant hence the queue and the noise may be good for others but very hard to have a conversation while having dinner. Takeaway may be the best option for people living closer as if I get one it'll be cold by the time I get home 🏡

🍽️Roti King Both of my Malaysian friends said the food is very authentic and delicious! Finding good Malaysian cuisine in the UK is quite challenging; after trying a few places, I almost gave up. Incredibly delicious food and came out super fast. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We were only near a roti king for 3 days and we had it 3 times. Twice for dinner and once for lunch. If I come back to London I will definitely be coming here. Food is not expensive.

I've had nothing but depressing British food since I landed and this cured my depression. There was a line (translation: queue) before they opened at noon and it's easy to see why. There is ALWAYS a line out front so expect to wait at least a half hour to an hour.

First time here, didn't realise we had to queue as I'm guessing they don't take bookings. At 6:30 on a Monday, it took 30 mins to get in. Place is no frills, street food cafe and very claustrophobic so be prepared for noisy and cramped. Food and waiting staff were great and very helpful with food allergens. Hard to chat as its very very noisy inside. Lovely wholesome food but you need to eat and go basically. 8:30 pm when we left the queue was still just as long. Stairs to the basement and definitely not suitable for wheelchair or prams. I'd go back for good food and recommend if you can be bothered to queue. They also do takeaways.

Service quality reduced, forgot half my order. Food quality reduced. Rushed, unfriendly, inflexible for dietary needs. I wanted to substitute one type of noodle they have for another type they also have, denied. The food made me Me feel unwell as I can't tolerate that type of noodle (egg noodle). I won't be back, sadly, and I used to really like the place 😔 Too much hype and demand killed their quality service and food

Came here 5 yrs ago when I was non vegan, and revisited yesterday having heard that they added vegan options. Both times, I queued for half an hour regardless the timing of the day. Shiitake Rendang was very delicious, so was Char Kuey Teow. Both had their own distinctive flavours. Sadly, Roti, that I loved as non vegan last time cannot be made as vegan. ☹️ The place is too small for the popularity, I guess that’s why they opened 2 more locations in Southbank? Having to queue for over half an hour would be the only reason that would turn away a lot of customers.

Mediocre, ordinary, meh and maybe overrated. These are the feeling after I finally visit this famous Malaysian restaurant. There are some good and bad things I experienced here and there but as I said a “meh” experience for me as a Malaysian. Have some advances for you guys but it’s up to you to hear it. Perhaps you guys didn’t notice that but weather in London or maybe England is…. I don’t know… rainy? It’s always good to have certain type of protocol for the customer who is queuing in the rain instead of just let them standing in the rain ? For the food, try to put more spices in the dishes (such as pandan leave and coconut milk for nasi lemak or lemon grass for the laksa) the food is a bit bland for me

One of the best roti canai abroad (very hard to find a place that knows how to make it right)! The lamb murtabak was delicious. I enjoyed all the food. Memang best lah! Reservation is not accepted, so you must wait in line. It's a very casual place - think hawker style. Friendly wait staff. Recommended! I just wished the Milo with ice had some powdered Milo on top :)

Malaysian restaurant/ kitchen have been in London over decades attracting students and travellers for great curries and value. Amongst an established trade they figure in prominent areas as a go to place. So yes Euston is typical and Waterloo. I would go as far as saying Malaysians are amongst the first street kitchen in London. In my day it was Euston we'd go to get Malaysian food. It wasn't to be found everywhere. I was enticed by the idea of Malaysian curries and curious about their celebration of roti and what their rotis would be compared to Indian. I read reviews that said 'the roti wasn't bad but Caribbean roti is better, ' each to their own I couldn't have agreed less with the rotis very much the same as the Trinidad bus roti. Roti King say they are based in Euston, Waterloo and Battersea however I was very surprised being in West London (Hounslow,) I could order from Ubereats and the food would be wrapped and sent from Norwood Green a town north from us. We ordered the Roti and Mutton for two people and Nasi Goreng. We read reviews saying the portion size was small and wed have to disagree. The rotis are larger than standard size compared to homemade or shop bought and full of flavor, do nice to tear eat and dip into the curry. The food was well presented in recyclable containers, we had been concerned whether the curries would drip or leak. The rotis were wrapped in foil, the curries on pots with plastic lids as well the rice. The mutton curry was a good sized portion for one person. If you don't think roti and meat is enough for a meal splitting a Nasi Goreng with another eater is enough. The Mutton had all fragrant spices found in a Indian curry we could smell cardamom, cinnamon and clove from handling the container. The Nasi Goreng was delicious full of flavors chicken egg and prawn. On the whole the food is restaurant quality and I do not think ones going to beat the value of two meat curries and rotis for twelve pounds when the offer is available. On its own I would pay 11 pound anytime for those lovely rotis and curries.

I ordered a take away from Roti King and was disappointed by the size of the portion. It was less than they give you when you eat in even though they charge the same. They need to give people what they they have paid for or charge a bit less.

Great Malaysian food and delicious. Freshly made roti paired with delicious curries. Beef rendang is a little watered down instead of the thick spiced sauce with kerisik or desiccated coconut. Murtabak is good, and so is the mee goreng. Only downside is that it is a bit unhygienic being in the basement and tables are close together, but that’s the authentic mamak experience!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Roti King is possibly my favourite place to eat in London. Yes, you’ll have to queue, and yes you might be squished in (it’s small but perfectly formed), but you will be rewarded with absolutely top quality, delicious Malaysian food! Fresh rotis are crispy in the outside and wonderfully fluffy in the outside, and prepared in front of your eyes by the expert chefs! I was particularly taken by the chicken Murtabak (stuffed roti) which is served with a beautiful Dhal for dipping. Rich curry’s are deep in flavour (shout out the Beef Rendang), and a cheeky side of crispy fried chicken is most welcome! Staff are so friendly and helpful and chefs will adapt spice levels to meet the kids needs. Restaurant is conveniently 5mins from Euston station. All this at ridiculously affordable prices make Roti King my absolute go-to!

I love Malaysian food so I’ve been always looking for Malaysian restaurants at any destinations I travel to. I discovered Roti King on Google Reviews. The restaurant was a short walk from Euston station. We arrived 30 minutes before the restaurant opened at 12, but there were already several people in the queue. As soon as we entered the queue, more people came in even though it was raining. They had a designated area for queuing. The restaurant was quite small but clean. It’s definitely not for a big group. We could also see the chef making roti canai in front of us. We ordered a several dishes and drink to dine in and couple of dishes to go. Mutton Roti Canai was recommended, but we decided to go with Fish Roti Canai. For those who never have roti before- it’s a flaky flatbread similar like paratha. The roti was so fresh and fluffy. Fish curry was delicious!!!! It was so good that we had to get it again for dinner. This time, we ordered through UberEats. We got both mutton and fish roti canai. We decided fish roti canai was the winner - must try item here. We also ordered the Kari Laska and their number 1 famous Char Kuey Teow to share between 2 of us, but I didn’t like it as much as I expected - mainly the seafood was overcooked in both dishes. For drink, we got one hot and one cold Teh Tarik, they were so so good - another must try item! For desert I got the planta sweet roti ( with condense milk) and it was delicious. We ordered to go Nasi Goreng (fried rice ) and Nasi Lemak (coconut rice with fried chicken, egg and fried anchovies) that I forgot to take photos. In my opinion,Nasi Lemak was better. Overall, I was very satisfied with the food here and I was glad I got to try almost every items on the menu. Service was great and food came out pretty quickly. Highly recommend anyone who’re visiting London. You will not be disappointed at all.

The most authentic Malaysian Nasi Lemark I have tasted outside of KL yet. Roti was great too, Laksa was a little spicy and took away the great taste. We arrived 10 minutes before it was opened on a Sunday lunch. Once we sag and ordered the restaurant was filled up of its 30 or so seats and a queue formed 20 minutes after it opened.
