Visited rossinis post lockdown. And the food and service were excellent. Especially recommend the pasta dishes and the desserts.

Very disappointed. Food was rushed out in double quick time so obviously microwaved - not what you expect when you are paying £14 for "fresh" pasta. Staff were inattentive, we got the distinct impression the would rather we leave.

We received a warm welcome when we entered the restaurant from a very polite and friendly member of staff. We chose the two course lunch which included a glass of wine. The food was superb and perfectly cooked. We can't wait to go back there...

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner recently. The main course and starters were very tasty. The dessert was horrible (profiteroles) and used horrible cheap chocolate squeezy sauce. I've heard good things about this restaurant, but sadly the service was not great. The waiter was pushy and abrupt.

We visited at lunchtime, and were blown away by the value of the lunchtime menu. Food was delicious and everything was served with the attention and care that makes this restaurant so popular. We will definitely be back.

Just returned from a very nice and cosy Italian restaurant, me and my husband went for the first time for lunch on the 2014 new year eve. And we had a wonderful meal, wine was just superb and dessert was excellent. Since then we have tried to book on Christmas every year but unfortunately it's always fully booked. Luckily my husband managed last July to book online for tonight and it was as expected wonderful, food was just delicious and waiters so cheerful very attentive. Some refurbishing was done I assume since last time but to much better way. More space for more tables.

Un gran ambiente y un restaurante típico italiano. Un restaurante con animación. El menú es tan enorme que sin duda encontrará algo para satisfacer su paladar. Lo que me gustó fue que es un restaurante italiano, dirigido por una familia italiana y atendidos por los italianos. Hemos comido en el restaurante de la misma cadena en el río Cuando abrió, pero era la primera vez 'en casa'. A ninguno de nosotros nos sentimos decepcionados con nuestra comida y recomiendo encarecidamente el Insalat mare de cual es el pescado marinado, absolutamente impresionante. No los dueños de el molino que compramos en peces pero, atún, salmón, anchoas, peces espada y la lubina. En el mejor andanadas consecutivas de todo el menú. A un precio razonable, bien preparado, un servicio amable, ¿qué más se puede pedir. Ah otra cosa, uno ve para vino de la casa, delicioso y bien de precio. Toni y su equipo son los anfitriones perfectos. Altamente recomendado. Si regresaría? No lo dudes!

Siete de nosotros fuimos un sábado por la noche y tuvimos una gran comida. Tuve dificultades para elegir como el menú es larga y todo sonaba atractivo! Yo finalmente decidió en la mozzarella en carozza (como un sándwich de queso frito) para el arranque y el scialatielli ai frutta di mare. Me gustó mi arranque, aunque había sido frito un poco demasiado largo. La pasta era fabuloso - un montón de mariscos. Probé algunos de los otros platos sabrosos - todos y no tengo ninguna queja de nadie. Las verduras con los platos principales fueron acertadas. Lo más destacado fue el tranvía mi postre! Es años desde que he visto. Quería todas ellas pero elegimos el licor de naranja naranjas caramelised en - uno de los mejores dulces que he probado en mucho tiempo. El servicio era un poco lento, pero aún así fue una gran noche.

Have no doubt about the quality of this restaurant. It was fine dining at its best. Service delightfully attentive but not overpowering. Very special quality of food and serving size. Huge range of tastes and cuisine. Dessert trolley amazing.

Great food served well in a small freindly atmosphere. Large menu, which does need updating but always more than enough to satisfy most paletes.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been too. Not only is the service excellent, the food is full of flavour and good portion sizes. The coffee is great as well. Absolutely fantastic place.

Se viene aquí, y sin duda lo recomiendo, mucho mejor que la calle alto nivel italiano 'restaurantes encadenada y no demasiado caro.

Nice food at a good price. Lacked a little in customer service and we were quite cramped but we had a nice evening.

We have often been to is restaurant in the past and had good sevice and food but at end of February we went for a Saturday lunch and were very disappointed. The service and food were indifferent and the place was more than half empty perhaps indicating the way things are going. My wife's pasta was slightly burnt and they were unconcerned. When we left we had to find our own coats. It was so sad to see what was once a decent reliable restaurant to have slipped so far down in quality.We will not bother going back.

Visiting the area, a friend booked this place. Very average, quite expensive, food OK.Would not return.

You are always made to feel very welcome, the staff are great and the Italian food is top class. Although it is not a large restuarant perhaps that helps the atmosphere which is very nice.

We visited Rossinis for a special birthday meal and boy were we delighted. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the food was first class. We will definitely be back.

We'd been to Rossini's last year to celebrate our anniversary and enjoyed the evening so much we came back again with our daughter to celebrate her birthday in February. Great menu, good atmosphere and always busy. Really attentive service but never obtrusive. I'm sure we'll end up as regular diners and I look forward to our next visit.

Went here for a birthday celebration with my husband & son.They both had the steak in a green peppercorn sauces & I had the chicken in a white wine sauces everything was cooked to perfection. Proper Italian food with proper Italian atmosphere, great service, can't wait to go again

The staff are very welcoming and ensure you have everything you want. We even had some free small appetisers whilst we where waiting for out food. Waiting time was minimal and the food itself was true Italian.

I had dinner with friends while staying in the area. It was empty when we arrived but filled up quickly. Service was prompt and good and the menu was extensive. I has a delicious sea bass dish. Well worth a visit.

This restaurant is compact and has a lovely atmosphere, Il divo type music and very comfortable. For a midweek visit it was full which is a testament to how nice it is there. The food was tasty and plentiful, large menu with plenty of choice and the waiters very attentive. I don't think there is an Italian restaurant to beat this one in the area and we will definitely go back again. Would definitely recommend booking even for during the week.

I visited Rossini for the 2nd time last night. I really enjoyed my first visit so I wanted to take my other half and dad as they had never been.When we made the booking, we were told we could only have the table until 8:30pm as they had another booking - this was fine as we had allowed plenty of time.Rossini is a very authentic small restaurant.The initial service was good, the atmosphere was fantastic and the food was lovely! I recommend the lasagna.There was music playing in the background which was good at times, however as the evening went on, the music got louder and we found ourselves struggling to hear each other.The one downside to the whole experience was the rushed service. We had an hour and a half before we had to vacate the table and everything just seem rushed. Towards the end of the evening, there was a queue of people wanting to come in. I can only imagine that another party had overstayed their time as we were well within ours, however the staff were very keen to get rid of us which spoiled a lovely evening.Tip - If you are given a time to vacate your table when booking - really think if this is enough time as no one wants to be rushed when you're enjoying a nice evening out.Other than this, I would recommend Rossini's.

I visit this place quite frequently; at least once a month if possible, so I'll be brief and not comment on any specific meal. The staff are always accommodating and friendly. The food is always delicious; especially the carpaccio, gnocchi and steaks. Desserts and generous and delicious. It's somewhere you can keep returning to without getting bored. I think I've had something different every time and never been disappointed.

I always worry when I take someone new to a restaurant I've raved about, but I should have known that Rossini wouldn't disappoint. It truly is a wonderful and charming little Italian restaurant and as with our previous visits, the food was delicious (and plentiful!) and the service was faultless.

My wife and I shared a good starter, two delicious pasta main courses, washed down with a pretty decent bottle of white wine. Relaxed and informal atmosphere yet still smart enough to to feel like a "proper evening out". All for under £60. I can't think of a better pound-for-pound restaurant in Wokingham.

In previous years a Christmas meal here has been good and very competitively priced so we booked again for 2015. The price has increased greatly. The service was indifferent to grudging. Requests were made several times for things like water glasses on the table and the candle to be lit. While the main turkey course was fine the profiteroles were dreadful - filled with over-whipped cream and sparsely covered with a poorly prepared chocolate sauce. Coffee was included on the menu but it turned out only included with the 3 course menu, although this was not stated. Needless to say we did not leave a tip and will not go there again for Christmas.

Although booked in advance they had no record but other than that was a great treat.Excellent staff, good selection, food superb (the white bait was one of the biggest portions I think I have had. Brought back memories of the old style Italian restaurants from my past. Would recommend this place.

Great treat, really good traditional Italian restaurant. Great choice of dishes from an extensive menu. They were very busy which I guess shows that this place has an excellent reputation. The staff were really friendly and worked so hard!

Went here on a Friday night in December. We were given complimentary bruschetta and olives. The starters are more expensive than other restaurants but the portion size justified the price. The mains again were large in portion size and truly delicious. I struggled to eat everything so would have rathered a smaller starter. The service was great for a very busy restaurant. Staff were always on hand to serve and charm us. The atmosphere was cosy and intimate as the restaurant is quite compact in size. Delighted with the experience so much so that I have revisiting again tonight!

Visited this restaurant 3 times this year. Food is really good. Each time have asked for speciality Amalfi coast wine, always out of stock!Second visit we were rushed to finish our meal and told we could have our coffee outside as table was needed even though there empty tables available. Third visit, plate snatched from table whilst still chewing last mouthful without asking if we'd finished! I think we've given this restaurant a fair chance, but never again. Find somewhere with more respect for their customers.Never again

I visited here after a hiatus of a couple of years and was pleasantly surprised how much it had changed. The food is truly authentic Italian cuisine - I have eaten worse in Italy. Inside is cosy yet charming (as you feel like you are out on an Italian veranda). Would recommend for intimate dinners - the pudding cart is to die for!

I recently contacted this restaurant as I was taking customers out for dinner when a local hotel let us down last minute. I called 2 days before the event and although they were fully booked they opened the restaurant early to accommodate our party of 19 people. We were served delicious fresh homemade bread and olives whilst we looked through the menu, these were complimentary. We all had 3 courses which were all yummy and served together. I'm not from the area but will definitely go back when I'm passing. Thanks again to all the staff and owner for helping me out.

When it comes to special occasions, we are always willing to travel the 145 miles, to celebrate at this restaurant - yes, it is that good!In August we visited for my partners birthday. It was such an incredible evening, and we left comfortably full, slightly merry and very happy within our decision to visit.Both the co-owners were very friendly. We always opt for 'Tony Joyce's seafood linguini' and asked if that was the owner - Tony's - surname. He explained it wasn't and indeed it was a good friend of his name. I explained we had came from Shropshire especially to visit, as we love the place and that it was my partners birthday.Tony, told us he should try his seafood ravioli for starter, which wasn't on the menu. We agreed, and when it arrived we were not disappointed. It was incredible. For mains we chose our faithful dish of 'Tony Joyce's seafood linguini'. As always it never fails! It really is super delicious! You must try it.After a bottle of rose prosecco, we were feeling slightly tipsy and couldn't have possibly had room for desert. I went to the ladies room, and on passing Tony on the way back he said we must stay and have another drink as they were going to sing happy birthday! Tony bought out a cake with candles and gave us a slice before it went onto the desert trolley! My boyfriend was extremely happy, it was a little touch that made the evening!Customer service here is second to none. The food, atmosphere, the staff, the whole experience is remarkable. I've visited this restaurant a couple of times and have always been very satisfied with the food, wine and quality of service. The interior decor of the restaurant is charming with a wonderful, vibrant atmosphere. My one issue (which largely comes from the popularity and intimate layout of the restaurant) is that it gets rather hot! This is a small drawback and wouldn't not stop me from thoroughly recommending this restaurant

Rossini's seems to have been in Wokingham for ever and is still one of the better quality Italian offerings in the town. Despite strong competition it still holds it's own, especially against the chain restaurants and cheap eats that have seemingly sprung up everywhere.The menu is unsurprising, but very comprehensive with a good choice of favourites including veal which is nice to see. The food is very well cooked and authentic when comparing it with a recent trip to Rome; it's certainly up to standard.The desert trolley is worth mentioning and there is a mouth watering selection of cakes, pastries and extravagant gateaux- delicious, but not good for the waistline.There is a very well priced lunch time menu which makes this an ideal venue for a business lunch that will not break the bank. Complimented with a good wine list with sensibly priced bottles or by the glass, this is definitely to be recommended.

Top nosh. The closest thing you'll get to authentic Italian dining without actually going to Italy...

On coming to Wokingham 20 years ago, I found few choices of decent restaurants. This was one of them.Now 20 years and umpteen chains of Italian restaurants, failed niche startups and gastropubs later, I still think - based on a recent visit - this has to be Wokingham's nicest, friendliest and most authentic Italian dining experience. It's small - some might even find it cramped - but food is well prepared, recipes tried and tested, and waiters are professional and attentive without being too intrusive. But I like it mainly for the tradition of Rossini's: where else, for example, still offers a sweet trolley crammed with delights? It is, yes, a restaurant seemingly rooted in the past, but it is none the worse for that. Visit and enjoy.

Recently an entirely fictitious very poor 'review' making unfair and unsubstantiated accusations against this restaurant was posted from this account. The review was removed at my request but may have been here long enough to mislead readers.I would like to apologise unreservedly for that 'review' which was completely untrue and should never have been posted here.I have only visited this restaurant once - with friends who recommended it and have been regular customers for several years. My experience was as expected from their unanimously positive comments. I enjoyed good food, friendly staff and had a most enjoyable time in a lovely environment.I can recommend all aspects of this restaurant.

When I called to complained that my jacket's pocket had been emptied at the restaurant the manager 'Antonio' repeatedly laugh at my comments. I agree that I shouldn't have had valuables in my pockets but I didn't expect for the jackets of all the group to be taken away so heatedly. What's the point of offering to take coats and jackets away if they can't warranty that they are going to be kept secure.At the end of the dinner. When we were leaving the premises we were approach by three suspiciously looking men asking for directions to Tesco in a Waitrose car park.Be careful inside and outside this restaurant.Rossini web page message application doesn't work.

After several visits it just keeps getting better and better. Staff,food,atmosphere. Such a lovely bunch of people and highly recommended . My favourite little Italian .

Didn't have a reservation, just walked in today for lunch. Special lunch menu with lots of choices for about £12 per person. Included glass of red or white wine. Had home-made minestrone soup followed by Lasagne both excellent and just enough.Partner had prawn cocktail with the same main course. Both had white wine which was very good, to say it was the house wine included in the lunch price. Overall the service was excellent, friendly without being intrusive. Food was typical tasty Italian. Will go back soon. Well done Rossini.

There is a key point from our visit that prevents this restaurant achieving an Excellent rating and it could be seen by some as a fairly crucial issue... they didn't have a record of our booking. Now bearing in mind this is a small and obviously popular restaurant (considering the number of people that were in there) and the fact that it was a Friday night at 8.30 the head waiter could not seat us. Fortunately we were in an amiable mood, and it wasn't raining, and so we were more than content to sit at a little table outside and have a glass of Prosecco, or two, whilst we waited for a table to become available. Once in we discovered that this is no modern, fine lines restaurant, and it is all the better for it. You feel like you have walked off of one of Wokingham's main streets and into a little trattoria in the back streets of Naples. It is loud and chaotic and full of rustic Italian charm. We were a little worried about the size of the menu. Of course it is often considered best to offer a moderate menu and do it brilliantly than risk too much but we really enjoyed our food. If you do like fine line restaurants and your food neatly arranged on your plate in a way that is worthy of a high end restaurant then this is NOT the place for you. But if you want to be served by friendly Italian waiters, have a good time, enjoy good Italian food without being subjected to that of yet another Italian chain restaurant, and have a wide range of Italian digestives available for your consumption after your meal then you can't go wrong with this utterly loveable little place. We shall be visiting again.

Rossini is a family run restaurant that has been serving real Italian food close to the centre of Wokingham for nearly a quarter of a century. We have used it for business luncheons for several years and always found Toni, the owner/chef a helpful and friendly person. He is especially proud of the fine Italian wines that he keeps for his more discerning customers. The menu is quite broad with an emphasis on real Italian dishes. The servings are generous to a fault.The chef does not hold with the modern trend of tiny portions jazzed up with fancy trimmings. On our last visit, we all chose Dover soles for the main course. It is a fine fish - rivaling turbot and expensive to boot. It was a Friday so we expected that the fish would be in fine condition. Unfortunately, the grilled 'on the bone' examples from the kitchen were dry and seemed to have sat in the freezer for far too long. It was a disappointing lunch only off set by the friendly and helpful waiting staff. Perhaps, on this occasion the omens conspired to work against this fine fish and we are sure we will visit the restaurant again. In the meantime we have always enjoyed the sea bream.

Visited this restaurant with my husband and our American friends. Service was very good no long waiting time. Excellent choices on menu. Portions are generous so bring your appetite along. Staff are very friendly and happy. Excellent value for money. Food was really good and delicious. We shall be going back again soon. Last visit was in February this year...This time it was an important dinner with the new lady in my life. Service was reasonable and cheerful although a little slow at times.Food was average overall. I started with soup , which was excellent , my companion had the avocado with Cheese sauce, which was very heavy on the cheese , but ok.We both had steak in sauce for main , both cooked as requested ..sauce was a little thin but tasty. Neither of us had sweet but they looked very good...Overall a nice evening but improvements in service and food would make it great. Having said that we would go back ..

Very Italian the food was good friendly staff it was like being in Italy. The restaurant is not too large as I hate big restaurants. Will go back again Good value the lunchtime menu was only 12.00 Waiters where very friendly and the décor is great. ChristinaChristina

I have been here a few times with work, a very nice family run small Italian eatery with very good food and drinks. Friendly staff eager to serve.

I'd heard so many good things about Rossinis I was so looking forward to our meal. The greeting and welcome couldn't be faulted, the service was good and friendly enough but seriously the food was such a disappointment! The decor is quite 70's and that's part of its charm but the presentation of the food is also very much in the 20th century! My mixed sea food starter served in scallop shells was ok but not as described in the menu. The calves liver with prochetta ham was completely overpowered by the garlic and the only desert worth a penny was the fruit roulade and that wasn't great. Coffee and service were great but the food was a serious disappointment and would not return.

What a friendly restaurant with an excellent menu. The choices available must easily please all requirements. The standard of service was friendly but at the same time very professional. A good selection of wines are available at a very reasonable price. We were impressed with the standard of the chef's cooking.

We didn't have starters as they seemed a pricey so went straight for main mains. What we had was good quality Italian hearty food. Good portions and very tasty. Deserts were nice and left fesrice well satisfied but not stuffed.Service was attentive and we did not feel rushed at all. Well be going back and taking the kids.

This was our third visit to this restaurant and a first for my daughter. We were celebrating our twins 27 th birthday , the staff are very friendly and attentive, the food extremely tasty, the steaks are delicious and cooked to perfection. My only negative there was not a lot of choice for my vegetarian son, who's first choice was unavailable but they did offer to make him a scrumptious vegetarian lasagne. We had chosen a bottle of Shiraz and when we wanted a second bottle they did not have one but offered a similar bottle/grape for the same price which I thought was very reasonable and appreciated. We will definitely be back and I would highly recommend this very busy cosy restaurant.

Love coming here, my favourite eatery in Wokingham. My partner and I are vegetarian and still plenty of choice for us on the menu.Good food and good service.

Rossini has been open in Wokingham for over 20 years and is one of the few family run (not a chain) Italian restaurants in Wokingham.Visited with friends on a Saturday evening and booking was essential. The restuarant is relatively small and is so popular that it runs almost as two 'sittings'. We were on the 'early' sitting at about 6.45 but by the time we left there was a queue forming for the 'second'. This may not suit everyone. Given the size of the restaurant, seating was 'cosy' and the noise level was corespondingly high.The food was very good and reasonably priced. (Note: this is not a pizza restaurant). It is noticable that chain-run Italian restaurants are increaing the pasta content of their dishes at the expense of the other ingredients but this is not the case at Rossini. Worth supporting for this alone!The staff were attentive but not intrusive.

We've recently moved to Wokingham and have been trying most of the restaurants here and Rossini is certainly our favorite. Great service, attentive but not rushed and a very good choice of food on the menu which I'm sure would suit most diners. We've been 3 times now and each time it's been very enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.
