Took my husband away for his 40th! I can’t complement this accommodation enough! Totally mind blowing! Welcomed by a roaring open fire, to then be welcomed by the amazing Tim. So polite, lovely and helpful. The room was beyond my expectations. We didn’t eat here as we had plans with friends but from what we had seen it looked unreal. Set in beautiful grounds, open fires and the most stunning staircase this really is a perfect place! They have private Jacuzzi you can hire only £30 for 90mins. A private dining option or their regular May and a breakfast. Will most defiantly recommend and we will be back! Thank is you so much for having us.

Just spent a fabulous 3 nights at Rossington Hall over Christmas with grown up family and what an amazing time we had. Couldn’t have been looked after better. Never ending delicious food, drink, with live music on Christmas Eve, & a falconry display on Boxing Day thrown in too. Yes it’s a bit rustic at times but it is an old Victorian building that is gradually being brought back to life. Accept the little foibles & relax & you won’t go far wrong. Staff were all incredible, it was so relaxing sat by roaring log fires yet things to do if you wanted to (badminton, golf simulator, hot tubs etc) we weren't bored for a second. Gary & his team worked so hard to make it a great Christmas & boy did they succeed! As we left we all said the same. Best Christmas ever! Thank you team. We will be back very soon.

We have just got married at Rossington hall after a year of planning and then a year of Covid Delay! You could not wish for more of a perfect place, or a perfect staff to make the perfect day. From the “don’t worry I’ll sort it” attitude of Andrea to every obstacle you can throw at her, to the “everything done but nobody seen but always on hand when you need them” ninja like capabilities of the staff, honestly, we have had the time of our lives, with family coming from all over the country.Being from Liverpool, we had ALOT of “why here in Doncaster?” Questions from family and friends, but that only lasts about as long as it takes them to get through the reception area and once they’re in the rooms, they find themselves looking for reasons to come back for themselves.Rooms are BEYOND stunning. Also, the roaming peacocks are ace, the food is amazing and personally I’m in love with their coffee!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Rossington Hall, in the Blue Room, for one night after a day at Doncaster Races. The room was quirky, but beautiful and very spacious. A gorgeous bathroom with dual aspect windows over the gardens, roll top bath and wet room type shower. Complimentary toiletries were lovely. The bed was very comfortable, albeit the duvet was slightly heavy and we got quite warm during the night. Equally, the heating made a terrible noise, but we switched that off before sleep. Not a huge issue! We ate in the Conservatory restaurant. We asked whether we could order from the Library Restaurant menu, but we’re told we could not do so. We were surprised, as neither restaurant was busy. The food was well presented, and my boyfriend enjoyed his starter and lamb shank. Being a vegetarian, my options were slightly more limited and a little disappointing. The food was generally quite old fashioned in our opinion. During the night, we were both woken around 4 or 5 am by someone hoovering. I would suggest staff refrain from this, as it does disturb guests. Anyway, we had breakfast delivered to our room at 10am and it was lovely. Check out was 11am. All in all, we would recommend this delightful quirky venue if you are in the area!

Spent one night here on the way up to Northumberland. Lovely Manor House style hotel with beautiful rooms. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly and accommodated all our requests. Enjoyed a perfect Pre dinner Hendricks G&T on the lawn whilst choosing dinner from the a la carte menu. The posh prawn cocktail was amazing as was the 21 day aged beef main all washed down with a gorgeous bottle of Fleurie red. What a find!!! Highly recommend this hotel as it was excellent though not too pompous or stuffy.

After hearing many great reviews from family and friends about their personal stays at Rossington Hall, I knew it would be without doubt that I would have to celebrate my 21st birthday here! Before our official stay, I went to have a look around the hotel and grounds where I had the chance to chat with Tim, who was an absolute star throughout!!! Upon viewing the hotel I was besotted and knew we had made the right choice. Unbeknownst to myself, Tim had managed to organise four separate rooms to my own which held my family as what turned out to be a surprise party. My friend and I stayed in Room 205 and it was nothing less than perfect! Clean, inviting and ever so cosy with stunning bedroom and bathroom with equally stunning views of the grounds and Peacocks. We headed into Bawtry for food and was greeted by Dave back at the hotel with the availability of drinks and a quiet area to sit and chat. In the morning, we came downstairs to an immaculate dining room where we were served the most beautiful breakfast; we had the pleasure of meeting Andrea over breakfast! I could write a novel about my experience at Rossington Hall as it was exceptional and by far the best service I have received. I have already recommended it to so many friends and family members so I am sure if it's not myself then it will most likely be them - Thank You to the whole team at Rossington and I hope to see you all again very soon!!

We stumbled on Rossington Hall while travelling back to Scotland and finding we unexpectedly needed somewhere to spend a couple of nights. What a gem of a place! Apparently the Hall has been a restoration project for the owner for many years and is now a well known wedding and events destination. Staying here ( a grade 2 listed building) was rather like taking a step back in history and it was a real pleasure. The Hall is quirky and has been restored with respect for the period. Our room was large and tastefully decorated (beautiful fabrics and wallpaper and a huge bed you all but needed a step ladder to get into). The bathroom was equally large and superbly appointed. We ate at the Hall both nights and had relaxed pre-dinner drinks in a lovely drawing room before being shown to the conservatory dining room. Breakfast is equally impressive. The staff are very very helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. No hesitation in recommending Rossington Hall. There are many stairs throughout the Hall so if you have mobility issues, perhaps mention this when booking.

We stayed overnight in the Churchill room after a wedding at the hall and can honestly say it was one of the nicest most comfortable well equipped rooms we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The wedding was superbly planned with minor timing hiccups that can easily be forgiven as a guest, The wedding meal was delicious and the choice wide and varied. The slight wait can easily be put down to the lack of staff due to Covid restrictions and the staff were very attentive to any requirements of the guests. The grounds are delightful and a beautiful area to have a morning or evening walk. The approach does need a little work but again this has been held up due to Covid restrictions. Breakfast was served and was again a fantastic meal with top quality produce and plenty of it. Not forgetting the hotels chefs novel way of serving beans in fried bread cups, Something I will definitely be trying myself. Overall a stay to remember and one that my wife and I will certainly be repeating again in the near future.

Yet again Rossington Hall came up trumps. This was our first outing since the pandemic began so decided to book Sunday Lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have been many times now to the Hall since it first opened and it is always a treat to go. Sunday Lunch is certainly a treat with excellent food which is very well presented and you definitely come away feeling full with the generous portions on offer. You are always warmly welcomed by the staff and made to feel very relaxed and special, nothing is too much trouble for them even in the difficult times the hospitality trade has had to endure during these difficult times, so well done to all the staff who make this place very special. We booked a 3 night stay here! Let's start with Tim, the main man at the hotel, lovely guy, I felt like I'd known him for years, nothing was a problem. The food was a surprise, I expected it to be good, but the chefs are incredible and a real asset to the hotel. The grounds are lovely, with peacocks strutting their stuff around the grounds. The room we stayed in was the blue room, which was spacious with a great bathroom and a very comfy bed. A little feature I would add, would be a tuck shop, just incase you fancied a bar of choc, usually I have a little stash with me but I forgot. The town Bawtry just down the road is worth a little visit. We will definitely be staying there again when we head back up later in the year to visit family. A hidden gem! Looking for somewhere to go for husbands big birthday along with friends, we found this place on the internet (we are from Lincolnshire) so booked an overnight stay & tasting menu! We were not disappointed! Driving up the driveway shared with the racing college we wondered where on earth we had booked but what a great place. A former stately home being restored to glory, definitely a work in progress in places, but the food, the ambience & the staff more than made up for anything else. Wow! Gary, Lucy & the rest of the team work so hard to make us welcome & accommodate our every wish. The rooms were spacious & quirky, and the bed so comfy. The food was both amazing & plentiful. The setting was lovely, the tour round opened our eyes as to how the place will be. But it was the hospitality & their knowledge of food & wine that really blew us away. They really know how to host. Amazing afternoon tea for 4 on New Years Eve 2020, felt like a proper treat given the restricted circumstances. Two adults and two children aged 11 and 13 all equally enjoyed it. We went for 4 adult portions just in case and whilst we still had some cakes to finish off on New Years Day, I’m pleased we did! The only thing we didn’t quite think through was my husband was in the middle of replacing the kitchen floor so we all had to huddle round the pouffe in the living room to have what was a very posh carpet picnic!!

We came here as a family of 6, not sure what to expect having never visited this part of the country before. What an intriguing destination we found ourselves in! Steeped in history, the marvellous Rossington Hall oozed character and charm, and whilst a little dated, it knew its strengths and played to them perfectly. We enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon tea with a good selection of crustless sandwiches and assorted sweet fancies. An ample tea menu provided much satisfaction after a thirsty drive, and one of our party even enjoyed a couple of fine local pints! All this was perfectly finessed by our outstanding host, whose name alas escapes me. He deserves recognition for his superb attention to detail, accommodating nature, enthusiastic manner and above all honesty - we accidentally overpaid and he commendably returned the excess without hesitation. He even printed out some of the Rossington history literature for us before our departure. A great afternoon with a great host, and a white peacock in the garden! (For host identification purposes, we had a fortuitous connection with the host - he had also climbed Longs Peak in Estes Park, Colorado, whilst he was working at the Stanley hotel - such a small world!)

A visit by 6 family members for Afternoon Tea. Had struggled to book anywhere when trying a week in advance. We had not known about the wonders of the palacial Victorian building that is Rossington Hall until a friend mentioned he'd recently been for afternoon tea with his mum and had thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I rang not expecting to get a table for the Bank Holiday Monday and was highly delighted when they were able to accommodate us. I checked that there was disabled access and toilet facilities given that one member of our party had mobility problems. I also enquired about another family member who required gluten free dietry requirements. Rossington Hall were able to adhere to our requirements. The female member of staff taking our booking (Lucy i seem to recall?) Was so very helpful and understanding of our requests. She even informed me that the teas would be half price as a result of the Bank Holiday being the final day of the "Eat out to help out" government scheme. This was an added bonus but i would have willingly paid full price given the quality and quantity of food and the excellent waiter/waitress service received. There was a keen focus on Covid safety regulations and social distancing and we all commented on how safe and comfortable we felt as a result. The Hall itself is set back amidst the Northern Racing College buildings. It is an exquisite Victorian building with such character and within such wonderful greenery and garden surroundings. It was a real treat to experience Afternoon Tea in such a wonderful location. Will we return? Oh most definitely. Thank you to all of the staff who made this such a lovely experience .... one elderly member of our party was even lucky enough to take home all the amazing leftover bijou cakes ... she thought this was so very special (all secured in a creatively made silver foil 'handbag' by the waiter)

Had a wonderful afternoon lunch with my husband. To start the chef taster was beautiful, then Garlic Mushrooms for me, the sauce so creamy, and he had Prawn cocktail served on a bed of lettuce and the prawns placed in a seashell for starters. For the main he had salmon and I had beef. The roasted veg served in its own bowl, and separate colliflower cheese all cooked to perfection, then for dessert I had sticky toffee to die for, he had lemon tart. Each serving we were offered time between each course. We needed it at the end, were starting to struggle. The taste of them all was beautiful. The service was second to none. I found out that Rossington Hall were doing afternoon tea deliveries and decided to order one for my sister-in-law’s 50th birthday (as unfortunately lockdown meant that we couldn’t go out or even have a party at home). I messaged requesting a delivery expecting to be told I’d left it too late but got a prompt reply saying that of course they could accommodate and would ring the following day to collect the details and take the payment. A very lovely lady rang and arranged the delivery for the following day. I then received a tearful phone call (happy tears I must clarify!!) from my sister-in-law who absolutely loved it! Cannot say enough how much I love this place First went to view regarding my wedding and instantly fell in love. Have been back so many times to take family and the staff are always so welcoming and helpful. Also been for many afternoon teas and always beautiful. We have a few good requirements and they are always catered for with ease. Today had afternoon tea delivered and the standard was as beautiful as we have had before. Unfortunately had to rearrange our wedding but it was done so smoothly and with no stress Please consider for your wedding, family functions and definitely try the afternoon tea

It was so easy to arrange, it was for my parents wedding anniversary and a lovely treat as they can't go anywhere at the moment. A really lovely lady delivered it and waved through the window and my parents were delighted. Thank you so much to all at Rossington Hall for doing this, it really is wonderful!!

Had an afternoon tea delivered to celebrate my wife’s birthday, it was superb. I also ordered a decorated birthday cake which my wife was delighted with. The process of ordering through Facebook Messenger worked brilliantly. I would recommend this service to anyone self isolating who wants to celebrate an occasion at home.

As we are all self isolating we thought to try the afternoon tea and then the Sunday Lunch delivered by this really excellent venue. We were not disappointed , try it for yourselves and cheer yourselves up and enjoy the experience in this terrible time we are in. Looking forward to enjoying a meal at the Hall as soon as we are allowed to go out again.

Not being able to join the family for Easter Sunday lunch at Rossington Hall we had the hall deliver Sunday Lunch to us as we were self isolating. As usual they came up trumps delivering an absolutely beautiful meal at a reasonable cost and it was still hot when it reached us. There was a good selection of starter, mains and desserts all delivered with a smile. We understand there was very limited staff working past midnight prepping all the afternoon teas and lunches ready for delivery on Easter Sunday so not to disappoint guests who are on their own and unable to leave home. Well Done Rossington Hall and with a very big Thank You to you all and keep safe during this difficult time.

It was so easy to sort out and was delivered to our doorstep with a big smile. I would happily order again and any other dishes they are going to offer during these hard times- well done guys xxxx

Two separate Afternoon Teas, delivered to two families who are in lockdown and unable to get out. The feedback (they were a gift from me) was that they were delicious and a lovely surprise, lovingly and professionally presented and with ample selections. Well worth it and arrived at the time promised. Thank you very much - it made their day!

What a marvellous idea to enjoy a wonderful treat delivered to your door. We ordered 4 adult teas by phone for the following day, straight forward and with dietary restrictions catered for. Then our in-laws and ourselves face timed from our houses to have a shared afternoon tea together, an ideal solution when we are missing eating together as a family. Only £12.95 each and £3 delivery , it was worth every penny, the little cakes were delicious, but more importantly we enjoyed eating “together” in such a challenging time.

A friend recommended Rossington Hall who are currently taking bookings and payment over the phone then delivering afternoon tea. One phone call on the Monday and the whole thing was booked and sorted for the following day and we were NOT disappointed! Wow!! My sister and I received photos from our parents of the amazing afternoon tea selection that had been delivered

It was our Wedding Anniversary and we were all in lockdown because of Coronavirus. We also couldn’t meet with our family however, our daughters bought us an afternoon tea from Rossington Hall. This was delivered to our home nicely packed and wrapped with a gift tag. It looked lovely! We set it out on a cake stand and sat in the garden feeling very spoilt. The food was lovely with a good selection of sandwiches (with crusts cut off of course) scones with jam and cream and pretty delicate little cakes. It was a real treat and made us feel very loved. Well done for helping to make our day.

Absolutely fantastic venue. Staff were amazing, party was amazing, food excellent - we had pie, mushy peas and chips and then a great brekkie the next morning. We also all stayed over and we had a family room with huge, comfy beds and bedding and fluffy white towels for showering! Couldn't recommend it enough as a party, event venue with rooms. It's a bit oldy worldy, but that is part of the charm. Thank you!

Recently visited the wonderful Rossington Hall for Birthday Celebration for my son. It is in the most beautiful setting. We arrived and was greeted warmly by the lovely Aimée, we decided to have a pre meal drink in the wonderful Drawing Room where a lovely fire was burning making it very cosy. We were looked after by the very attentive Thomas, who made us very welcome. We moved into the Library where the table was set with a wonderful flower arrangement including a Feather from one of their Resident Peacocks. We enjoyed a delightful meal prepared by the very talented Chef Dan. Fish Trifle was to die for. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented. We all thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Afterwards we moved back into the Drawing Room for several more drinks. My son was given a guided tour around by a very informative Aimée. Several photographs were taken showing what an amazing place this is. We had a wonderful evening, and can’t wait to visit again soon to saviour the delights of Rossington Hall. 100% Recommended. Thank you to the delightful staff.

I have just returned from Rossington Hall having had a three course Sunday lunch menu. Phenomenal!!! Absolutely delicious!!! I had the prawn cocktail followed by the Lamb Shank and then Knickerbockergloria. I have eaten at some fabulous places before, but I have never met anything that beats the depth of flavour with the Lamb gravy. The seasonal veg was perfectly cooked and the desert was out of this world. Although I was full to busting I just couldn't cope with leaving anything.I will definitely be back. On top of this the surroundings just made the whole experience a fantastic treat. And the toilets.... they are the poshest I've ever seen.

My mum very generously booked to take my brother and myself for what we thought was a treat Christmas Day lunch, which was disappointing and not one we can recommend, or will be revisiting in the future. Very average, canteen style carvery, not very warm or tasty, and even though you expect to pay £100 a head, you should be able to expect to enjoy your meal and the ambiance of the Christmas festivities. The only good part was the friendly staff, who worked very hard and tried their best to please, you had to feel sorry for them because they were all exhausted, some even having worked a double shift with breakfast! We made the best of the day and it was only recently my mum shared that she had let the manager know about her disappointment, which shocked me as my mum never says anything and would certainly never complain!! The part that really is annoying, is the abrupt patronising manner of the manager’s response to her which I find as unacceptable as she found upsetting, manners and service cost nothing, however they do make or break an experience....

I've taken my fiancé to Rossington Hall twice now. What a stunning place. We had a meal there in January and then again for their Valentine's special evening. On the first trip we were welcomed by Aimée and served in the Library dining room by Brian. They were also assisted by Thomas second time around. We had to change the evening last minute and Aimée was very relaxed and accommodating of that. Brian not only remembered us second time but also remembered our drinks order. Not bad memory there.

This is an authentic Victorian grand home which is a credit to the current owner. Lunch is served in one of two dining rooms.staff are very attentative and go out of their way to please and accommodate your preferences. Lunch is served at just the right pace with intervals before each course. This is a special venue for that special occasion in your life. Cheers to all the staff that make it work so well

A large group of friends and I had a celebration afternoon tea for our friends birthday. We had a private room and the food was lovely. The service was good, but at times a little slow. There was a slight inconvenience that the afternoon tea came out in sets of 2, but as there was no set seating, these didn’t work well when there were a couple of vegetarian in the mix, so people sat next to each other weren’t automatically able to share. That being said, I’m not exactly sure how that would be resolved.

Spoilt my 30th birthday party! Do not hold your event here!! Below is the issues I had and the Email I sent…they did respond to the email and gave me a £120 refund (bare in mind the party was nearly £1,000) but that’s beside the point people need an insight to what that they are really like and not to pay good money to hold their events there just to have them ruined. Staff need retraining and be shown how organise, plan and deal correctly with clients. All the staff just pass the blame for their failures from one to another. This is the email I sent and all the issues I had so make up your own mind but I would definitely AVOID. Hi (events manager name) When I arrived at castle park on Friday afternoon on 23/08/24 I needed things moving around in the room I was there over 2 hours and nobody was on hand and in the end my family and the lady from the other events company offered to help because there wasn’t time to wait for yourself or someone else to it when I’d already been there over 2 hours. The table that had been left out for my cake only had 3 and a half legs which if my cake had gone on to it would have fallen off so again my family had to source another table then I needed a table cloth for it and we asked a member of staff where they were and they had no idea. The children’s buffet was missing items, the sandwich’s, the unlimited juice also the children’s buffet should have been on a separate table and it wasn’t. There was tuna sandwich’s when I asked for there not to be. There wasn’t any spoons for people to put dips on to their plates None of the sandwiches were labelled so people couldn’t tell what they were until they took a bite. Some of the food was over cooked, burnt and definitely not homemade as stated. Upon my mum raising the issues of the night to the catering manager she was met with an awful attitude, him raising my voice to my mum (to which my brother had to step in and asked him not to shout at her) and was given no apology. I am highly disappointed because all of this put a negative mood on my party night and spoilt it which shouldn’t happen I also didn’t get things I had paid for with also isn’t right. Absolutely awful organisation and customer service this isn’t what I expected from yourselves after attending other events with you. I know there was other events going on, on the same day and it was busy but a business such as yourselves should be able to deal with more than 1 event at a time and there is no excuse for these failings. Right from January I dealt with you, days when you weren’t there I was asked to call back when you were in which I did and you took all the details so for my mum to be told you were the new events manager because the other got sacked for promising things you couldn’t for fill is not right either when I’d only ever dealt with you. I would appreciate a swift response to this email.

On entering this classic local pub we felt welcomed and relaxed. There is a dog friendly area inside therefore we were able to have a nice drink and the most perfectly cooked Sunday dinner with our labradoodle regardless of the weather. A separate area is available for those without there best friend alongside. The chef obviously takes pride in creating an excellent traditional meal, he proudly plates your choice of 2 out of 3 meats available. Generous slices of moist meat are then complemented by your choice from several freshly cooked vegetables, nothing but perfectly cooked delightful and colourful vegetables. The gravy is also to die for and a cheese sauce tops this very delightful meal. I would happily pay twice the price. Get down to the Waterside Inn in West Sockwith, ITS AMAZING.

I think they are in my top five of good fish and chips, and are good value for money. The fish tastes really fresh, and the chips are nice and crispI did notice one thing that I didn't like on my last visit- when the tables were cleared, the jugs of left over milk were topped up and given to new customersThis isn't very hygienic, ' the tables are small, and the milk has been coughed and sneezed over, plus droplets of saliva may have gone in it while speaking over it.Also people may have not washed their hands after using the toilet, and have been handling the jugI think all the jugs should be emptied and washed up properly after each useI realise they are trying to save money by using less milk, but this practice is not acceptable. If there is a lot of milk left in each jug, then they are putting too much in in the first place, and should put less in.The customer can always ask for a top up.I tried to find an email address, but couldn't, so perhaps they will read this, and do something about it, as it rally puts me off now that I have seen this happening. The only other point I would make is that the chairs aren't moveable , so if you're a bit bigger than average, it could be a bit of a squeeze.
