I'm not going to rate it to low because I've been to the the tea rooms in stoke and it's lovely and I know this is a new business and doesn't deserve to be damaged by one bad worker ! BUT We decided to visit the Airfield Cafe. Unfortunately for us the lady that owns the tea room /cafe was not working. It was another Lady who I've not seen at the stoke tea rooms before. She was erm putting it polity vile ! It doesn't take much to smile at the customers. The way she spoke to us telling us it's not table service was disgusting (we knew this as it has signs up) She produced a breakfast that was supposed to come with what I assume a portion of chips, and mushroom. I had 6 maybe 8 chips and zero mushrooms, and the food I did have didn't look cooked. When I mentioned it to said lady she growled back "it is cooked actually" and then threw a bowl of chips on the table. She could have just said oh I'm sorry about that I'll replace it for you, but instead spoke to her young colleague awfully for not writing the order correctly. She is a bully ! Let us know when you have new staff and we will be back.

Lovely setting, and some delightful gifts to buy in the shop. That's where it ends. Staff were not very welcoming, the table was wobbly, and there was no menu. (Whiteboard would have been helpful). We asked about food and it was all very vague. For example - whatever we asked for we were told, it usually comes with this item but today I haven't got that item so I could do this instead. We were offered food that was in the freezer, and told it would be defrosted in the microwave (no thanks). Milk was not brought over with drinks, and the staff were unattentive. Everything was mediocre. And overpriced. Despite the setting, this is not somewhere I would return to and would definitely not recommend.

This tea room is well worth a visit; The owner Kathy makes all the cakes and scones; the photo is of a takeaway afternoon tea for one; I bought 3 and only asked her a couple of hours before picking it up and what a great job she did. Delicious food, cosy tea room and a lovely owner.

Stopped with friends while out cycling. Firstly it's the only place on the Isle of Grain that is open in the week!!! The lady seems to run it on her own but a very friendly welcome, nice pot of tea and toasted tea cake was delicious. When we settled the bill she asked if we needed our water bottles filled! Nice touch. Will definitely go back. This lady (kate) I think has not been there long and I hope she stays!!

Looked for somewhere to go for coffee and breakfast. Checked on line which said it was open. Arrived after opening time to find it shut. Someone came and opened up after about 5 minutes. We gave them a few minutes to in then went in. We were greeted by "the floors wet!". We sat down to look at the menu, the lights hadn't been turned on and we felt awkward as we were not sure if they were open but another customer ordered so we presumed it was open. We was not sure if there was table service or if we needed to order at the counter but no one came to our table so we got up to order to be told the lady serving would come over. We ordered a tea, a coffee and poached eggs on toast twice. We asked for brown bread and was told she wasn't sure if they had anything but would look in the van. She went out to the van outside the shop which was in direct sunlight and came back with a loaf. The tea and coffee arrived after quite a while and we were told the coffee machine had to warm up. The coffee was awful and we had to ask for more coffee to be added as it was not drinkable. One serving of poached eggs on toast came and we were told they only had 1 poacher so the other serving would be a while. My friend had finished hers by the time mine arrived. The eggs were overcooked and when we asked for brown sauce we were given a bottle of Aldi sauce that we struggled to get anything out of.While we were eating someone came in and the girl serving proceeded to discuss her night out, not remembering going home and then openly discussed her personal issues with 2 ladies that were customers. We went up to pay and the girl was busy on her ipad. I think she was putting in what we had to eat to get the cost but she carried on with the ipad, not even acknowledging that we were standing there. We paid and left. Will not be returning.

We visited Rose’s Tea Room in Lower Stoke following recommendation from a family member. We drove to Lower Stoke and there is a large (free) car park very close to the Tea room.Rose’s is located in the High street and is the epitome of an English Tea Room. We had reserved a table and when we arrived the room was very busy with four tables in use including a large group. The interior is quite light with a large window to the front of the tear room looking out onto the street and the tasteful decorations enhanced by some humorous wall pictures and plaques. The crockery was typically English style china cups and saucers and teapots though the more serious tea drinkers may notice that the tea comes in bags as opposed to loose leaf and so does not require a strainer. I like to try different types of tea but was not aware if there is any choice available. We had ordered an afternoon tea and were not to be disappointed with a generous serving of cakes, small sandwiches and a (it must be said), substantial scone with jam and cream. Thoughtfully, Rose’s will also supply a ‘doggy’ bag if you cannot finish all of the serving and certainly this was the case for our party. One splendid variation on the theme, (and one of the reasons that we came), are servings tailored for young children including Nutella spread sandwiches (though there were other choices), cakes and soft drinks. We thought that this was a nice touch allowing the experience to be enjoyed by the whole family. The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful dealing promptly with any requests we had.All in all, a very enjoyable afternoon at Rose’s Tea Room, a splendid spread at what we considered to be good value for money, and we will undoubtedly be back here at a later time and would not hesitate to recommend it to others to try.

We just stopped for coffee - which was a large fairly-priced mug and were made to feel very welcome in what is probably a favourite haunt of locals, and it was fairly busy when we visited. It has a nice atmosphere combining souvenirs from the past with a clean tasteful decor. This is a place that deserves to do well.

Pub has a great atmosphere. Staff are lovely and there is always someone around to have a good chat to. Lots of live music, a great place for young people and also the older punter. Nice selection of drinks and snacks. Pool table is a great addition, and the garden/courtyard, although small, is a nice little space. The pub dog is great and the ginger girl behind the bar is lovely too.
