Ordered the pork katsu, it was pleasant and plentiful and cost £12.50, it was about right for a non Japanese speciality restaurant. Getting my receipt to claim it back on expenses has been a little labourious. The breakfast delivered to your room was good and perfect way to start the day. Most disappointingly was that they had no draft lager.

I’ve eaten here possibly on over one hundred occasions, well that’s saying something! However on my more recent visits I’ve certainly noticed a downward curve in not only choice ( changed menu) but also certain dishes don’t appear to be up to the restaurants usual standard. When you order the eleven piece sashimi dish, you would expect to get eleven pieces and not eight! When you are half way through your starter you wouldn’t expect a waiter to be there wanting to put your main course in front of you! The wine list has also deteriorated. I’ve not written them off just yet, but I hope on my next visit I see a marked improvement all round.

Went here thinking we were going somewhere special. Big disappointment. Restaurant had no ambience. Bright lights. And cold, they didn’t even bother to light our candle on the table. We were informed there would be a little wait as my partner ordered sushi which was freshly made. That was ok so we asked for the bread and oil platter to nibble on whilst we waited and were told the bread was frozen so would probably take as long as the food itself. What??? So we skipped the bread and waited for our meal. Only 2 vegetarian options on the menu so I went for the stuffed pepper which was a little bit soggy (was that frozen too) and then asked for the homemade cheesecake. Which I luckily thought to check if it was vegetarian. Which it turned out not to be. Why would you make a cheesecake and not make it vegetarian? It’s harder to make it non vegetarian than vegetarian...! So I had a coffee instead. Unfortunately this was poor quality and tasted like it came from a push button dispenser type machine. I felt sorry for the waiter really as I don’t think there is much management presence to guide them and oversee the service so they are in the front line. All in all, I would not go back here and sadly would struggle to recommend it to anyone.

Lack of staff training on service, white, cream walls, soulless, slow unprofessional service. After we ordered some drink we had waited for food for a while. Food was ok, but if you're a vegeterian - don't even try. Not much to choose. They even started to setting up tables for breakfast around us while we were having our dinner. Lights was switched off for a half of the dining area. Music, that came only from a bar somewhere didn't added much of a charm to this wonderful evening. After looking around for a few minutes, that wasn't a sign for waiters to ask if I need anything else, had to grab drink menu myself. Bill was wrong aswell. Seems it's a nice hotel with a nice views, but what is wrong inside I don't understand. There's is potential, but... Who had idea to open this "restaurant" to a public should be ashamed of himself/herself.

I love Japanese food - especially sushi/sashimi, but haven't been to the Rosemary restaurant at Stanton House Hotel for a few years. There was a time I'd visit for lunch every couple of weeks - enjoying a huge plate of sushi or one of their Kaiseki bento boxes - but they started offering a vastly reduced menu at lunchtime, so my husband and I switched to visiting in the evenings instead. The service gradually got worse over the years, but the food was still worth going for at the time. However, my husband offered to treat me to a special meal out for my birthday, so I chose the Rosemary restaurant at Stanton House Hotel. We booked the table for 7pm. A £12 taxi ride got us there for 6:30, so we stood next to the sign saying "Please wait here to be seated", smiling expectantly at a waitress... who simply glared at us and turned away. We were slightly confused by this reaction, but deduced that perhaps they weren't ready for us to sit at our table yet. We found someone to register on the checklist that we had arrived, then decided to order a beer and sit in the bar for a short time. My husband ordered a pint and a half of Asahi, which the barman poured - then he wandered off to serve crisps to a girl that had just arrived at the bar! After this transaction was completed, the barman returned to my husband and asked: "Have you paid for the beer yet?", as if he'd forgotten that he had wandered away to serve somebody else in the meantime! When we had finished our beer, we had to queue at the bar again to ask to go to our table. This was just a few minutes before 7 o'clock. Our waitress (the aforementioned unfriendly one who ignored us as we waited at the 'Wait to be seated' sign) was wearing a badge saying "Trainee", but she had obviously been given no instruction on the menu, and had not been advised to smile when speaking to the customers. Despite this, we were patient and friendly in return. There were only two other tables occupied in the restaurant at the time, but we had to actively seek to place our order, which we finally managed to do just before 7:15. We ordered some tempura and edamame to start with, followed by a large mixture of sushi and sashimi for our main course. We also ordered some hot sake. The sake took ages to arrive, but we enjoyed it when it finally did come. Then we waited... and waited. We finished our sake, and our waitress continued to ignore us. The two other tables (Japanese couples on both tables) were served their meals during this time, and one of the couples actually finished their meal and left! A group of four British men arrived and sat in the bar, and ordered food from the English menu - looked like burgers - these arrived very quickly too. Eventually - 1½ hours after arriving at the restaurant, and 1 hour after sitting at our table - we gave up and decided to leave. There was still no sign of our starters. Nobody came over to explain or apologise for the delay, or give us an update on how long the food was expected to be. Tempura is incredibly quick to cook, and edamame beans are served in their pods - they are simply poured out of a bag and into a pan for a few minutes. There is no preparation required for edamame. Why the two Japanese couples were served so quickly when we weren't served at all is a mystery. There was a wedding reception on in the function room, but the hotel would have known about this for many months or even a year. Also, there are usually different chefs for the Japanese food - special training is required to become a sushi chef. It doesn't even start to explain what happened - especially since the few other customers in the restaurant were all served. At 8pm, we went to the bar, and my husband told a senior-looking female member of staff at the bar what had happened. He said he wanted to pay for the drinks so we could leave, but she kindly said that there would be no charge for them. This is the only nice thing that happened, and we were grateful for the gesture - but my birthday dinner was completely ruined. We were so hurt and upset about the appalling way we were treated up to that point, and we will never go back to Stanton House again. The situation is especially heartbreaking, given the fact that have spent a couple of thousand pounds there in our previous years of custom. We booked another £12 taxi and I cried when I got home.

Not being acquainted to Japanese food we took "pot-luck" on the menu choice and were not disappointed. The service was efficient and the restaurant itself could also be described as efficient rather than cosy. We decided to visit the Rosemary restaurant because we had heard that the All you Can Eat Thursday buffet was great and also that those in our party who didn't like Japanese food could order from the British a la carte menu. This meant everyone was very happy - all food was delicious, especially the hand-made sushi. The only reason I didn't give a top review was just that the dining room is a little like a work canteen with very little atmosphere. We will definitely go back though.

I've been coming here for years, having lived in Japan and fallen in love with the food. This place is authentic because it caters for Japanese diners, and we've had so many delicious meals here - the nasu dengaku (miso-grilled aubergine) was spectacular on our last visit, and the other dishes were really good too. I still miss the salt and pepper squid and hope to see it again! Also the bento boxes..

Having been a few years since last visit, booked for the all you can eat buffet for my dads birthday meal. The menu choices were a lot smaller than before, value for money has gone down. It used to cost more but you could choose from more off the menu. Hot buffet was very good, more than enough choice and replacing foot with new dishes. The takoyaki was very good. Only slight disappointment was the actual raw fish side of things, even though the fish itself was beautiful. You are not allowed to order any sashimi. It has to be rolls. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The restaurant itself isn't too tightly packed with tables which is nice, unlike other all you can eat places where they stuff as many tables as possible into an area. Would happily visit again, but again the fact no sashimi is a big disappointment as that was the best thing about this place all these years back. Also noticed they have seemed to stop bento boxes also?

Looks like a works canteen, brightly lit and obviously a 'business' hotel. Don't expect a cosy, intimate dining experience here. The food was mediocre, authentic Japanese food - OK, it may be but it's at the budget end. Bit like saying Little Chef is authentic British food. Service was slow but staff were polite, attentive enough and apologised for the delays. The price gives it away I suppose as it's not expensive but even with that said, it's disappointing.

The staretrs did take a while to arrive ...but we're very tasty and nicely presented. Main course also took some time to arrive but were again beautifully presented and enjoyable. Desserts were very pretty and delicious.Wines were good and of reasonable price. We all enjoyed our evening .In the morning we also enjoyed the included breakfast ....again a mix of dual foods were available. If I have one small moan ....it is that dishes could be cleared a little more quickly between courses.

We bought a groupon for the 'all you can eat' offer that they run on a Thursday night. My partner had been previously and he said it was a lot busier this time around - I'm guessing due to the groupon offer! When they sat us down they told us there is a buffet, a sushi counter and also a menu of hot dishes you can order. The food from the buffet was very nice, we especially like the Gyoza and dipping sauce. They also had calamari, chicken in curry sauce, seaweed, miso soup and various other starter type dishes. Then there is a rice cooker full of tasty fluffy rice that you can help yourself to. My partner also took advantage of the unlimited sushi! We had 5 dishes off the hot menu between us as well- they are of a size that you could easily eat 2 each, but just order 1 or 2 at a time. They were all good, but some were nicer than others. We particularly liked the katsu with udon noodles and the beef that came on rice. Overall the food was very tasty and I understand is fairly authentic. The reason I have deducted one star is because of the service. After being sat down we were never checked on again. We sat in confusion for 5 minutes before we realised that you are supposed to order drinks at the bar. There was more confusion when we wanted to order food- again after a while we just went to the bar. There was a young guy working who was helpful and friendly, but one woman was rude and snapped at me when I said we wanted to order some food. I don't know if you were supposed to go to the bar everytime you wanted to order, but we never saw any staff checking on customers or asking if they wanted to order anything. The staff in general seemed like they didn't want to be there. The decor isn't great- why is there a TV in the corner of the room? It felt like (and probably was) that we were sat in the breakfast room having dinner. Romantic meal this is not. The hotel itself is very pretty on the outside and might make a lovely wedding venue if they did up the interior.Price wise the groupon was good value, especially if you eat sushi. I don't think I'd want to pay full price. We looked at the a la carte menu on the way out and it's expensive too so we wouldn't visit at any other time than the all you can eat. The drinks were very very expensive- we only had one soft drink and then stuck to water.

We have just returned from the Restaurant where we took my son and daughter in law for a meal to celebrate their 3rd wedding anniversary and I feel gutted for them. We have been patrons of the Restaurants since it first opened and love the food, but there comes a point when the level of poor service provided out ways the experience. On arrival, the Restaurant had 'lost' the booking even though we had phoned 3 days earlier. It then appeared to be a major operation to fit us in to a table of 4 even though the Restaurant was half empty with more staff than customers. Our order was taken and noted that we had asked for the 'Sashimi' to be a second course after the starter and before the main. My daughter in law is a vegetarian and ordered the Vegetable Tempura and the rest of us has various other meat/ fish dishes.I was therefore quite surprised when the starters were cleared and the mains were brought out, but not as surprised as the staff when I asked where the Sashimi was. 'Haven't you already had it?' She asked, 'No', 'Oh, I'll go and get it, shall I take your mains back and keep them warm under the grill' 'No thanks, I don't like shrivelled food!' At the same time they are trying to serve my daughter a King Prawn - not vegetarian Tempura. When I raised this the staff shrugged it off, saying they were having 'one of those nights!'Moral of the story, get them to confirm your booking, check its not planned to be 'one of those nights' or alternatively choose somewhere that actually cares about their customers!Guess I can cross this Restaurant off my list, which is a shame as the food is excellent!

At the suggestion of the Stanton House Hotel reception we booked a table for the Rosemary restaurant at 1830. The quiet period. The restaurant staff were efficient and polite. Taken to our table and asked if we would like some drinks while we perused the menu. Drinks were brought quite quickly and order taken some 15 mintes after we arrived. We then had to wait some 30 minutes for our food to arrive which when you think that this was the quietess period and that there were only 15 other people in the restaurant makes you wonder what happens during a busy period. I should point out that one of the members of staff did apologise for the delay. Having said that the dinner was very good and well presented and we enjoyed it. The spoiler was that we both wanted a pudding but were going out for the evening and felt we could not indulge because we did not know how long it would take to be prepared and served. Shame really that this issue has coloured my marking because the service marking of "Poor" does not reflect my opinion of the restaurant staff but the kitchen staff where there is obviously an issue. PS one of the businessmen on a table for 4 did have words with a waitress over the time taken to serve so it was not only my views.

It's such a shame to give a poor review but I honestly felt so disappointed with this restaurant. On arriving you feel yourself thinking that its going to be super..the hotel itself is set in lovely grounds and you walk in thinking that it's going to be fab....the restaurant itself is lacking a little atmosphere , but maybe we just picked a quiet night. The service was extremely slow...one of our party failed to get her starter before the majority of us had finished -.it happened again with the deserts and although the staff there are very pleasant, they do need to address that. Sadly, it did get worse when my food arrived ....it was very poor ... I do have to say that some of our party enjoyed their meal so it really was a minority that didn't. However, for the money that you pay...each and everyone of us should have enjoyed our food. This place has great potential and I really do hope that they take note of the reviews as they deserve to succeed in having a top class restaurant.

There did seem some confusion at first about the booking we had made and we were waiting for a while before I decided to check that the booking was fine. We were then directed from the Gallery into the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful once the initial booking problems were sorted. The room was a little uninspiring but the view from the window which I was facing was magnificent (afterwards we went and sat outside and both agreed that we would love to come back again with our dogs to enjoy a tea outside in such a lovely peaceful setting). The food was delicious and plenty enough for us. Perhaps (as has been commented the sandwich fillings were not that exciting (rather ordinary) but they were fresh tasty and cut nicely. The cakes, were soft, moist and a good variety, The scones were just perfect and we were most satisfied and would recommend. I am familiar with this restaurant for over 20 years and I have seen ups and downs of taste and services here in The Rosemary restaurant. With recent changes it is coming to be more interesting to dine here. Before anything, in short, if you are looking for good (not necessarily very authentic as some people expect) Japanese foods with affordable prices, this is the place. If you are looking for authentic Japanese menu in very Japanese environment, I can assure you that you would not be very happy. Also this restaurant (not Yakiniku Restaurant) is multi-functional so the atomosphare is rather informal. (Used more like canteen for breakfast.)Price range of the Japanese dishes vary - very high to reasonable. In countries where fresh ingredients are not always easily available (UK included), prices tend to stay high. Also this availability issue put pressure on the variety of menu. The Chef told me once that they were really struggling from time to time to get fresh (Japanese standard!) fish!! And the hotel is not in Central London... Keep these in mind, I would say the restaurant offers good Japanese under these restrictions.Since the latest change in the menu, Sushi looks better. Japanese starter's choice is slimmer than before but offers good choice. "Chikuwa Isobe" (fish paste), used to be one of the school lunch menu, I can find it here; they can prepare it very well.A choice of Japanese drinks are also good - they have selection of whisky as well.Tempura (Shrimps - Japanese are heaviest shrimp eater in the world! Over 13 kgs per head per annum!!) I had last night was also excellent!

Sunday Mid Day meal. We arrived to be greeted by a huge empty restaurant, with less atmosphere than an international airport. And a waitress, wearing a Dirty black waistcoat / uniform. Not a good omen.,,, Plus the chair i sat on had wobbly legs, Someone will come a cropper soon. We were handed a very very basic Menu, My other 1/2 chose the bento box, But i wanted some starters, so picked a mixed Japanese starter off the Bar menu, plus i managed to persuade the waitress to find another menu, I picked Pan-fried ox tongue with salt, Which was pretty naff and chewy, and Deep-fried chicken with ginger & sake Which was merely OKThe mixed starter was so so, With a nice dollop of pickled Ginger on the side , yum.For my main i chose Stir fried pork loin, with ginger sauce, rice and miso soup. It came looking really un appetising, anemic slices of rather so so pork, a few bits of onion, and an awful salad, In fact all the side Salad bits were rubbish. the Miso, was so yuk, i could not be bothered to slurp it, with a bowl of rice The Bento Box, one part thick slices of salmon, another tempura chicken, and bowl of rice, All in, there was not one single element, in the whole meal, that went wow ( Pickled Ginger not counting) I admit, the menu's for other nights, look good, or certainly more interesting than our Sunday one But Judging by the Quality, of what we were served, i would have to have a "Free" Ticket to return. I had been meaning to visit for about 5 years,,,, I'm so glad we did not invite the rest of the family along, That would have been embarrassing!

My husband and I have been looking forward to a lovely evening at the Rosemary Restaurant. The imposing and beautiful hotel looked like a wonderful setting for a good reastaurant but what we found at the Rosemary was a strange combination of restaurant and canteen. The decor is sparse and not authentic Japenese (a print of a brightly colored geranium on canvas hung next to our table) which when combined with the lack of background music and bright lighting made for a confused and strange dining experience. The sushi menu was very sparse and covered only the basic and well known dishes; the food was however well presented and delicious even if the crockery was a mismatch of wierd and ill fitting plates along with plastic bowls. The service was poor; the wrong wine was served, tables were dragged across the wooden floor echoing around the room and the clearance of our main course dishes seemed to be all too difficult (they were far to busy all serving a table of 10 that had recently come in which happened to be the only other occupied table).

I have never written a review on tripadvisor but My recent experiences here have made me want to for the first time.Have been dining here for 6 years. While the decor has always been plain and tired the service and Japanese food has always been brilliant. I have had sushi all over the world and this was one of the best classic Japanese sushi restaurants I have been too outside Japan. I used to regularly bring customers to the restaurant for something a bit different. The past 3 times I have been here have been getting progressively worse. The Japanese sushi side of the menu has been scaled back massively and the sushi itself has gone downhill. Not only that but so has the service. I have had rude and poor service the past 2 times I have been there and standards have slipped all over. While it was refreshing to have a traditional Japanese restaurant close to Swindon, it's now a very very small menu (about 1/8th of what it used to be) and it isn't memorable at all. The fusion sushi had been completely removed which is very disappointing. The tuna nigiri I had this week was so thin you could see straight through it (about 1/2 cm thick) No wasabi paste was there to hold the tuna in place like usual and the tuna had blatantly been left out for a minimum of a 2-3 hours. It has turned tough on top. No self respecting chef would let this leave the kitchen. You could get better from tesco's. The selling point for this restaurant was the brilliant Japanese food. Now that is gone, there is no point eating there as many other places do traditional English food a lot better. I wasn't lost on me that the restaurant had 3 tables as well as ours at 8:30 on a Saturday night. It used to be packed. Clearly we are not the only people massively disappointed. Really poor. If you want sushi close to swindon - go to Soushi in cirencester. Much better.

Lovely Bento boxes served up during week, followed by Japanese exploding jelly desert! If the Rosemary restaurant is booked for weddings, service is moved to Mt Fuji - better have your best socks on, as you leave your shoes at the door.Take a walk around the walled garden, then the lake in Stanton Park (through a gate), to finish off your visit

We've been looking forward to trying out 'real' Japanese food for a long time and booked on Thursday night to sample the buffet menu. The staff were pleasant and courteous and service was speedy, friendly and discreet. The atmosphere was a little odd, bright lighting, no music ...a little like a refectory but pleasant enough. The food however was slightly disappointing. There was little to offer that you wouldn't find in a similar 'chain' restaurant such as Cosmo's and although the sushi bar was more extensive than in other places, in essence the food was rather average. Not that there was anything really to complain about and the meal was tasty enough, it just simply didn't live up to expectations given that it is 'authentically ' Japanese. It was good value for money and we'd go back at some point but given the choice, would probably opt for Wagamamas instead.

We had breakfast which was varied plentiful and hot with pleasant service ,the croissants and bacon were some of the best we have had, just wish they would go the extra and use table clothes for evening dining

The restaurant had a lovely ambience looking onto the surrounding fields and greenery. There was a small and simple English menu, which I like. And whatever I ordered from a Blt, to a Caesar salad to sausages with mash, was very well done. The service was slow unfortunately but food was delicious. Overall I enjoyed dining there. For the quality of restaurant, I found the price very reasonable aswell

considering what we payed for an average room the meals were over price and the amount of choice was poor.

I've stayed at the Stanton Hotel quite a few times and always eaten in the Rosemary Restaurant. The food has always been a great mix of japanese and english with a japanese twist. it was almost always buzzing with at least half the tables used. However, the menu has abruptly changed in August. Gone is the japanese one and replaced with the most awful English menu I've ever seen. The last choice of dishes have been replaced with 4-5 starters, 4-5 mains and 4-5 desserts.I should have realised that something had changed when i got there on the first night and found that I was the only person eating. The sirlion steak I ordered was full of gristle and tasteless, and the new potatoes I had were very undercooked. The second night I tried to book the Mt. Fuji restaurant but couldnt as it was full, but was told I could have japanese a la carte in the Rosemary Restaurant. I got there, and was just given the same menu, with no a la carte on offer. I picked up a bar menu and, despite me sitting not 6 foot from the bar, I was told that I couldnt order off the bar menu as I was sitting down! I hate rules that are there for no good reason! What did it matter what menu I was ordering from .. you are getting my money!Asked the waitress about the change in menu and she said it was trial during the kitchen refit that going on at the moment, but they might make it permanent! oh deary me ...My advice is to avoid the Rosemary Restaurant during August 2013, and after that check what menu is being offered before booking.

We've been many times to this restaurant and have never been disappointed. From the setting in the lovely Stanton House Hotel and surrounds, to the decor, to the service, to the food, its always a really pleasant experience. The staff are really excellent here and always make customers feel welcome and the food never disappoints. Highly recommended.

We ate in the Rosemary Restaurant for my daughter's birthday. The service was very slow but the food was good. I ordered the sashimi boat which took forever and the rest of my party had to wait over an hour whilst it was prepared. We all fancied the Bento dessert box but were refused this as we were told they would take even longer to be served. The desserts we did choose were good.Overall we all enjoyed the food, the price was reasonable, but service slow.

Four of us went not knowing what to expect. We throughly enjoyed the experience and the food. There is a gas BBQ in the middle of the table so you can cook the meats to your liking. The waitress explained all the dishes and choices and this helped us make a choice that suited us. lovely sauces too.

Decided to try the yakiniku experience at the Mount Fuji section of the excellent Japanese Reatuarant at Stanton House Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were attentive without being in your face. They checked whether we'd tried yakiniku before and happily explained how to eat this type of food when we confessed our ignorance. This part of the restaurant is situated in the old chapel building and is beautifully appointed and absolutely spotless.

I took my wife for a Sunday lunch treat and from my experiences of other Japanese restaurants, although I knew it was a buffet I expected excellence and a first class attitude to service. I got neither. It was all pretty ordinary. The food was adequate but mass catering short-cuts abounded. There were a few items of sushi available but others required additional payment. The rest varied. The teryaki chicken was delicious and crispy skin gave way to succulent flesh but the pork dish was fatty, thinly sliced belly which had sat so long in its juices it was grey and floppy! The stewed vegetables still had some crunch but the added shitake mushrooms were few and far between. The curry was well spiced but the tempura was soggy. However it was in the service that the real disappointment came. The waiting staff were alright but not anxious to please. They seemed rather lacking in training in customer care and several were more interested in fetching plates of food for themselves out of the kitchen or helping themselves to drinks from behind the bar. The management of the buffet was appalling. They ran out of rice! In fact they ran out of almost everything and the manager was extremely reluctant to replenish bowls of food, doing so with ill grace when asked. The dessert table was virtually empty and my enquiry about restocking was answered by an offer to get the chef to slice some fruit cake. I asked a waitress why this mean approach but ever-loyal she simply said it was the manager's policy although I think I detected a roll of the eyes. My experience was not improved by a couple of non-Japanese families who allowed their children to run around, shout and play and when faced by a particularly disruptive child, the manager appeared to heave a sigh and run away too.Despite these negative comments I still enjoyed my visit and I would go back, but for only for certain elements of the food. There was nothing wrong here that couldn't be fixed by a professional manager with some pride in the job, and the owners should really get a grip on this part of their business.

I've just had a birthday meal with my colleagues at Rosemary restaurant and I was so disappointed with the quality of service we received. It was a buffet evening and I was very looking forward to this evening-out with my colleagues, as I'm Japanese and I hadn't eaten fresh sushi and sashimi for quite a while. The colleagues and I were really enjoying the food to start with... until I found a curly, black, short hair in my Mini zuke don! Could you imagine how you feel if you find a curly hair in your raw fish dish? That was disgusting. Probably most disgusting experience I've ever had in a restaurant. I pointed out the hair quietly to a waiter, because I didn't want to break the nice atmosphere of the party, and told him to tell his manager. However, 10mins, 20mins passed... no one came round, no apology or anything happened. My colleague couldn't stand and she told about it to a female staff, then she said "Oh, did he replace it for you?" but I didn't want any food as my appetite was completely gone by then. "Would you like a drink or something for compensation?" but I didn't want drink or food or anything. Just wanted a sincere apology from their manager and would like him to promise me that it won't happen again. However, the manager disappeared just before our group started making payment and didn't come out until the cashier boy called him for instruction of the card machine. Even after he came out, he didn't say anything, didn't look at our eyes at all. No apology, no signs of regret or shame, or anything. So my colleague told him about the hair and he said, "Oh, yeah yeah, I heard that. But that was strange, because we don't have any staff with that hair style." ...Okay, so maybe that wasn't a hair from someone's head but elsewhere then?!!At the end he apologised but it was nowhere close to a sincere apology at all. I wanted it coming up naturally from bottom of his heart, not after we told him to apologise. I'm a Japanese and everyone knows that the hotel was owned by a Japanese company (I don't know if it still is?), so what we expected was Japanese level service and hospitality, not a burger shop level!!The restaurant was a special place for me. I used to go there with my family frequently, as my parents used to live in this country for work. There was always at least one Japanese staff welcoming us and there was a Japanese sushi chef preparing sushi in front of customers. But not any more. One of the colleagues got married there long time ago and it was very special place for her, too. Sadly, our happy memories are spoiled by current quality of service. This degradation of service made me and colleagues disappointed so much. The restaurant needs to get a health inspector to come round to have a proper check. They should also rethink about their levels of hospitality and cleanliness more seriously.

My family and I went to this burger joint (now rebranded The Confessional) for lunch today. Being a vegetarian for 29 years, I ordered a mushroom halloumi burger and my daughter ordered a chicken burger. The idiotic server brought the order unlabelled and in the wrong order, leading to me eating three bites of CHICKEN before realising it wasn’t grilled halloumi. I am absolutely disgusted and furious and I will never EVER return. I will be making sure my family and friends won’t be coming either. Appalling service in every way.

Came here last night, was staying nearby and read some good reviews. Well I have to say...food was outstanding, service and welcome was lovely...don't expect a fancy resturant as its not that, but the food was fresh , tasty and plenty of it. Extensive menu and they were all so friendly and accommodating. Value for money, second to none! Would have paid triple for what we had somewhere else!

I’m not sure what they pump into this food but it surely can’t be good.. after about 2/3 small dishes.. you’re finished! It’s all you can eat but you won’t be able to eat any more! I believe this chain has closed now anyway and the owner is running the Peatmore branch instead.. which seems to be the same setup.. Gotta make their money back somehow! 😅💸

Website states open 9.30am till 4pm on Sundays. 11am it was still closed even though staff were seen in the building. List of amenities on website says dogs allowed. Not correct, signs at entrance says ‘no dogs, assistance dogs only’ Very disappointing. Website needs correcting.
