YO! Swindon in Swindon

This is the second time I have been to this restaurant. This time it was terrible, the service was the worst. One course came out for myself and then had to wait ages furniture rest of the food for my family which then came out slowly. The staff don’t seem to care and require proper training. I won’t be visiting again

Ordered the avocado on sourdough but the bread was so hard I could not get a knife through it and it was cold (not toasted!). Even the potatos were cold. Wish I had complained at the time, and will give this place a miss next time.

We were 10 minutes before closing and the lady was happy to give us 2 desserts and a tuna sandwich to take away.She was very kind with us and can’t fail anything.The big problem was the quality of them.The cheesecake and the other cake tasted just horrible, stale and maybe out of date I would say.The cucumber in the sandwich was soft soggy and the bread was very hard to eat..Totally tasteless bland.Please avoid if you don’t want to waste your money in the bin.I would have given 0 stars if it was for the food and 5 for the lady.

Map indicates not busy, and that is correct. So why does it rake 21 minutes for 2 coffees and 2 buns from the display.???

Having missed Patisserie Valerie since they’ve left Cardiff, I jumped at the chance to re-experience a sorely missed restaurant/cafe and what I remembered was a good experience. However, when being asked if we have a table to be told- “go away and come back when you’ve got a table and you’re ready to order”, and after we’d found a table, and tried to order coffee, that “the steamer wand is broken, you can only have Tea or an Americano”, I regret choosing to go here. Extremely disappointed, some staff training might be beneficial if any standards are to be established.

Visited here on a busy lunchtime over the Christmas break but didn't find the restaurant too busy . The food was very good indeed, going around on the belt and also what we had ordered separately. Everything was well cooked and fresh . Staff were polite . The restaurant was clean .My only small criticism is that we ordered the wine at the same time as ordering the food but wine didn't arrive until after we had finished eating our food . I had to ask where it was , which a paying customer should never have to do , I expect better service for the price paid. Saying that , we will return again at some point in the future.

Food took 40 minutes even though when we ordered we were the only ones there. When food did arrive it was cold and the service was horrendous. Probably wouldn't use again.

Having waited 45 minutes for our afternoon tea, it wasn’t really worth the wait. The staff seemed very harassed & weren’t at all friendly. The original server didn’t smile or interact & it clearly looked like she didn’t want to be there. The afternoon tea isn’t as good as it used to be & definitely isn’t worth the money if you pay the full price. Thankfully we had a promotional offer which softened the blow. The coffees were nice but the food was very mediocre. Not sure if they were short staffed today but the tables weren’t being cleared very quickly. Overall not the most enjoyable experience.

Went here with my wife on a shopping trip to the outlet. Our server, Shubert, was quick and attentive, helped explain how things work at the restaurant and gave some fantastic recommendations. The food service was quick and the food itself was delicious. Would definitely come back.

Not nice experience at all… We came for coffee and cake with my friend and our daughters. Waiter refused to make coffee for my friend… she offered her tea instead. We got 2 Red velvet cakes for our kids … cakes were dry and smell weird. We had to return cakes … luckily they replaced them with different cakes which wasn’t that bad. Not going back there again and I would definitely not recommend that cafe to anyone.

Unfortunately it has gone downhill massively this year; we used to love it but will definitely not be returning anymore. I ordered a croque monsieur and this is what arrived…it didn’t even have any cheese in it, which I questioned, and the waitress said that’s how it comes (even though the menu says a ham and cheese toastie covered in cheese, and a croque monsieur is this as standard). The one slice of ham didn’t cover the bread and the crusts were so stale they were like sawdust. And it was about £10. My husband ordered a breakfast skillet but they said they were out of skillets, and a festive gingerbread latte but they were out of gingerbread syrup. The whole place was filthy, there’s no longer table service, and the waitress wasn’t friendly. It was also freezing cold as it is next to the outside play area, I know that’s not their fault but everyone was sitting in their coats and I haven’t had to do that before. The one positive is that the team member on the till was shocked when I took my plate of food up to them and immediately gave me a refund (I’ve never sent food back before in my life, but it was so bad that the couple next to us said excuse me you should really get your money back which reassured me I wasn’t being over the top). Such a shame.

Pretty poor display of food. There were no skillet dishes left. Had the pancakes which were soggy and looked like they had just been reheated. Also had the two mini bites - why was everything so soggy! From the hash browns to the mini burgers.. pretty disappointing. The only thing that was remotely edible was the fruit 😂 And the mocha which was bought over was spilled all over the place before it even got to me, making it sticky to handle. The toast was burnt. The service was ok, although the chap who bought food over to us (twice) said absolutely nothing, with no emotions. So much for being in the services industry. This wasn’t worth paying £30 for - wouldn’t have paid £10 if we’d had known it wasn’t going to be this substandard. Hugely disappointing start to the day.

Absolutely filthy and I couldn’t place an order without giving them a table number. I’m on my own so by the time I’d given them a number someone else was sat at the table. You need enough staff to clear the tables, not nice when there’s mashed up food from the previous occupants everywhere

Arrived today to use our Group On voucher. New menu started today and is advertised in store but the Sliders (which are on the menu) were not available yet. They initially tried to say we couldn't use our voucher but we point out the deal started today, wasn't that friendly and the skillet my partner had was mainly potatoes and onion (not much meat) and felt like was just heated up, my avocado was scraped on really thinly. Overall experience is not great and would not recommend :(

Nice, but £5 for a piece of cake? Bit pricey!

The ambiance here is always inviting and comfortable. The food prepared here is very mouth watering- delicious.

The petite cakes were absolutely delightful, practically melting in your mouth. However, they leaned a bit too heavily on the sweetness scale. The sandwiches, on the other hand, were freshly crafted with a diverse range of fillings, showcasing their dedication to quality. The warm scones, served with clotted cream and jam, were a perfect comfort food choice. We decided to try their hot chocolate, which, while decent, didn't quite stand out. The service was satisfactory, with everything arriving promptly. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, though I couldn't help but feel that the prices were a tad on the higher side now.

Me and my friend were absolutely SOAKED and saw yo sushi as we got into the outlet. The waitress made such an effort to bring us hot miso soup and we ordered so much. SO GOOD my friend is vegan too and there were so many options for her. This was the actual best

Had afternoon tea, lovely service ,friendly staff wonderful food.

This is one of the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had,Alex was really warm, upbeat and friendly The prawn Katsu curry was really tasty, delicious and when I asked for extra sauce, it came up within 30 seconds

Food was as expected from Yo, with a decent selection of hot and cold items. Unfortunately though, I really frustrating experience. First they want you to order from an online menu. But phone reception is terrible, and you have to sign up to use their WiFi. Why put me through that when I just want to order? So manual ordering it is, but the waitress was hopeless. We had to repeat what we wanted multiple times, and she still got the order wrong. Service time is slow too, even when the place wasn’t that busy. We needed up cancelling half our order after we were told 3 times “it’s just coming”, but it never turned up. And we had to ask for the bill 3 times. Food: decent Service: awful

Great fresh food served quickly by very friendly efficient staff.Lovely atmosphere and a clean establishment .Busy restaurant but can always get a table.Excellent!!!!

The food is terrible I had Korean chicken, chicken was over cooked and tasted old chicken not even warm also it was chicken nuggets in sweet chilli not sauce and over cooked rice. On the front of the restaurant sign freshly cooked yeah right. Other meals for my family had over cooked noodles and boiled egg was rock hard they eaten half only and that was just the stock of the raman. Dirty glasses for drinks and the dishes that are on the belt are chipped and the dome not hygiene this needs to be looked at EHO sorry to say Don't even bother their customers it is very bad. Anyway up to you and waste your hard earning.

Always pop in here for afternoon tea and cakes .

Not the best experience, ordered a meal and when it came out was told that what we ordered wasn't available so they'd cooked us something else!!! Really!! Neither of us could eat the "unrequested substitute meal" so had to order something else and then wait again for that to be cooked Not a great experience

Went there with my partner for dinner. It was very chilled out and not too packed. The sushi was fresh, the manager and server were lovely and the mochi was AMAZING! I'll be back 👍

The cake were dry and hard I had to use the side of the fork to cut a piece of the mango passion fruit. We got the Strawberry chateau that was not good but softer. I am very disappointed in the staff I asked one if the ladies what was ingredients one of the cakes had she respond with,”Cake”… with an attitude and walked away. She was so rude didn’t want to help us or explained we had to get a table first then order.

We opted for the £16 for 6 deal and selected a variety of cakes. Two of the cakes we received were stale, with a solid and dry sponge. They were clearly not fresh and far beyond their best. To make matters worse, later that evening, the entire family experienced symptoms of food poisoning.

We popped in on the Tuesday the 29th of May 2023 to order a 80th birthday cake to be told we now have to order online, no card , website was offered as we were clearly getting in the way of the manageress undoing and redoing her ponytail as she side stepped 3 moves away from us (hygiene people) my partner and myself kind of shrugged this warning sign off, and decided to take a couple of slices of cake away with us (it was empty in the sitting area and counter ) anyway after waiting 15mins NOT to get served and be totally ignored we left! This place is great if you like waiting and being ignored, can't rate the cake as we never got any! Wishing others better luck

It was the first time we visited the Swindon outlet, and stopped at Patisserie Valerie for 3 drinks and a croissant for my son. Everything seemed expensive but I suppose most chains are nowdays. What really made me unhappy was to find whilst I finished my coffee, there was a huge crack running down the inside of the cup. It looked dirty inside the crack (6cm long) wish I had taken a picture, so I took it back to the servers, I wasn't rude, but i stated that they shouldn't be giving out cups like this to customers, and the lady just told the other server to 'put it over there' i.e. the bin I presume. Didn't get an apology or anything, but I expect its too much to expect an apology now days. Just didn't seem right or hygienic with using a cup in that state. Won't be going back to this establishment, and regret going there now.

Friendly staff and good service. Clearly croissants are not fresh at 5:30 so why price them so high?

We visited here on the 28th March. We used a gift voucher for the afternoon tea. It was bitterly disappointing. Firstly the young lady that served us was far from friendly. I watched her serve the tables around us too and never once did she engage with her customers or even smile. Yet I noticed her laughing with her colleague as she checked her phone. She also wore leggings and they left no guessworkas the contoured her backside. I personally feel she was inappropriately dressed for serving afternoon tea !. The sandwiches were not delicate at all, the bread was cheap, the chicken was in lumps, the ham was covered in english mustard, (something not everyone likes). The scones were claggy and the cakes were a poor relection on what Patisserie Valerie can provide. Once we were served the staff made no contact with us to check we were ok. No mention of a tea top up. All in all we won't be rushing back.

Nearly 20 minutes for 2 coffee and certainly not worth it, awful coffee. To add insult, there were only 4 other people in the cafe, all of who came after and had their drinks earlier. Won't use this one again. Staff not particularly polite nor interested.

Very very good coffee and the staff is amazing. Kudos to the person who made out coffee (he was a big man, don't know his name ) but he makes awesome coffee

I came in for afternoon tea a week or so ago and was unpleasantly greeted (if you can call it that) by someone named Emma who I later found out to be the manager. She was very rude when taking my order, barely even looked in my direction let alone offered basic customer service. I was told to “go find a table“ when my husband asked her to repeat what she said (as he didn’t quite hear) she huffed and rolled her eyes, luckily a the other staff working were the complete opposite and very happy to help, I was offered a menu and told about recommendations by someone named Greg, luckily he was there to save the experience as we were thinking of leaving and going else where.

Recently dropped into here for a bite to eat while browsing at the Swindon Designer Outlet. I had superb customer service from Emma, who ensured I had a pleasant experience. I ordered a light meal: scrambled eggs on toast prepared by Judy. It was fantastic and I could not fault it. Highly recommended for their drink, food and customer service.

Amazing service as always. Cakes and food always amazing. the best coffee around the outlet and Judy makes the best traditional breakfast

Yesterday , Me and my friends went their to celebrate birthday . Service was excellent. All of us enjoyed the afternoon . Guys at the front are excellent. Truly, an amazing experience. Best sushi restaurant in the town.

Went their with my family yesterday . Must say service was excellent. Quick response with smile. Humble and polite. We really enjoyed our trip to the restaurant.

It’s an excellent restaurant. Foods are delicious and service is outstanding. A wide variety of selection and tasty food. I enjoyed every moment of being in the Swindon designer Outlet of Yosussi. Definitely recommend.

Just went to Yo sushi in designer outlet Swindon with my daughter during half term. Kids eat free and it was a great experience. Staff super friendly and the food delicious! Don't forget to try the chocolate dough chi! It's cookie dough covered with ice...

Absolutely atrocious, waited an hour for out prepaid food and when it came it was wrong. We even paid in the prepaid invoice a service charge. I will never ever eat here again !!!

We have enjoyed many enjoyable afternoon teas here in the past. Not yesterday. Our tea was put on the table with no words of welcome whatsoever. Very unusual in itself. We had 3 different finger sandwiches each with a very questionable spread on the bread. The smoked salmon was curled up on a biscuit with the same 'spread'. The scones were the size of a golf ball and equally as hard. We weren't asked whether everything was ok or offered another tea or coffee, as we have usually. In fact we didn't see any member of staff until my husband went to ask for a box in which to take the cake home, as we were so cold. There was only one further table occupied so they weren't rushed off their feet. You won't be seeing us in future, Patisserie Valerie, be it for lunch or tea.

Wish we had read the reviews. Came here to have a birthday breakfast with a group of friends. Coffee was served cold for 3 of us! When we sent it back we were faced with eyerolls and sighs. Breakfast itself was barely passable in quality and very small portion compared to what we were used to from the good old days of patisserie valerie. We ordered a celebration cake to be served at the end of our meal. It was brought to our table in a takeaway box. They wouldnt light a candle on the cake as it was considered a fire hazard. We asked for serving plates to serve the cake, again more eyerolls and sighs and dirty looks as if we were the biggest inconvenience for an empty cafe. No wonder they are going out of business. Im so glad to read that others have had a similar experience, we were really upset leaving here as they totally ruined our celebration with their awful customer service.

Not a good experience. Pancakes are like rubber. The rest of the food very slow. Waiting staff bang plates on the table. Manager complaining of having a headache and moaning about the staff. The cakes are great though. I will spend my money elsewhere.

The area was cold to sit in (not their fault). The food was cold, served on cold plates, and the poached eggs were undercooked. We told the staff who replaced it, but when the breakfast came back, the bacon was cremated. I would have expected better at a cost of £52 before the discount. However, the server was quite pleasant.

Awful Rude staff, gave a dry stale cake, when I told the lady she said do you want a refund? I said ok. Then she came back and said you can pick another cake. Whilst I was deciding the other girl goes did she ask for a refund! Then she saw me. The other cake was stale too! Disgusting and rude, avoid at all levels !!! Even initially when serving they were rude and miserable!

The staff is so rude here. I would recommend them to stay home if they don’t like to work here. First go find a table number, than other girl comes to serve and I’m told after waiting that kitchen is closed. My partner was told to find a table and table number and there is a staff who is rudely telling him off. They where all there (4 of them ) standing and talking. I will never be visiting this store again. I work in customer service and I know how to treat customers. These people do need some customer service skills for the business to run well. No wonder the tables are always empty.

A lovely Afternoon Tea again. Staff were very helpful after having a small hiccup with my Ref No on my voucher. All sorted now. We will be back.

Expensive, surly staff, slow service, coffee arrives lukewarm, avoid

Staff very unhappy, no warm welcome at all. I kept having to ask for everything. The server has more piercings than EHO would like to see! No “enjoy your food” the manager lady needs to speak clearer and sound as though she wants to be there. It’s a shame as it could be a nice place. No table service which is disappointing as you want more drinks but don’t want to go up to the counter. Food quality - above average.

A warm welcome from the efficient staff and a very nice Cream Tea here.... (they had run out of Afternoon Teas by 2pm.) Good quality tea and coffee, and well baked scones with jam and cream. Tidy and clean store within the Outlet Shopping Centre.

We arrived at 2.30pm on a Saturday afternoon and ordered 4 small plates of food. It was obvious that the other 2 tables by us were waiting a long time for their orders too and were not happy. 45 minutes later we were still waiting...

Really nice food paired with excellent service. Definitely worth a visit! The server recommended the veggie volcano; BEST ROLL IVE HAD.

My kids and I recently visited Yo! in swindon on 25/08/22 for dinner and I must say it is definitely a must try! The food is great and the service we received was impeccable. The kids were mesmerised by the food on the belt and...

They have hardly any cakes and lots of staff but we stood waiting 10 minutes for them to pack just one cake. Never coming back here

The food is overprice and the taste is just slightly better than bought in supermarkets. It is not good value for money overall.

I used to be van of Patisserie Valerie, today I was disappointed the food quantity and quality and the service is not as it used to be.

I came here today with my family for our family lunch. We just received a 30 pounds voucher to use in store or online unfortunately the front friendly staff was not so friendly today, rude attitude. Especially a blond girl with glasses. They told me I can’t use my voucher here. She didn’t want to call the office or to speak with a manager. I am tel disappointed about that. We really like Patisserie V . So I spend 35 pounds for our lunch. Thank you

We went to Swindon outlet for some cheap treats for the kids and stumbled soon yo sushi. It wasn’t in the food court so was a surprise but when the kids saw the belt we were given no option but to come in for dinner...

Went in for a treat and was not disappointed!! It’s just like Japanese tapas haha. The manager even offered us a free dessert that really made our evening will definitely be returning xx

Go to Patisserie Valerie if you want Macaroons that feel like biscuits, dry and stale, I could actually taste how style they were, and the cakes? Well, they should be called bricks really, I don't know how long those cakes had been on display but they should stay there. Feel robbed of my money.

Staff were soo friendly. Even had space to sit 8 of us on a walk in plus the kids ate free! Thank you Jolene for making us feel so welcome

This was meant to be a birthday treat , took over an hour for breakfast to be delivered . It wasn’t busy . Scrambled egg was solid . Hollandaise sauce on poached eggs was swimming in it, looked like a jug of custard had been poured over it . Not going again

Overpriced, slow and not worth it

Cakes are lovely. We sat in their seeing area and had some great quality cake.

It’s the first Patisserie Valerie I didn’t enjoy. 25 mins waiting time for two coffees and two slices. Not during lunch hour with less than half of the tables. The actual Choux was at least 2 days old and the cream stale. The tables were a bit dirty and not sanitised. The actual service could be a bit better, quicker and more polite in order to reflect the expensive prices.

Dirty spoons and chairs. They gave us plastic spoons instead of metal ones to cakes. Coffee was disgusting, you can't drink it, the worst ever. Cakes tastes good :)

Bought an afternoon tea through Groupon . On arrival was told that they have no scanner to scan my printed coupon, we waited for a manager,who allowed us to have an afternoon tea (thank you) But serving at itself wasn’t great, filthy and dirty teapots ,soggy sandwiches,very disappointed.

Very nice coffee and cake, personally I think a little expensive for what it is but that's only my opinion. Friendly staff and comfortable surroundings.

Smallest sandwich’s ever in the tea for two. 1cm sandwich; I have fingers bigger. Apparently that’s what you should expect says the server. Will not come back.

Great range of sweet pastries and cakes but, unfortunately, not so friendly staff. We bought several items to take away, spent more than £70 but nevertheless, it seemed we were annoying the person by asking for so many items to be boxed. Clearly the lady wasn't happy to have a customer buying so many items. We didn't have a good experience with the service, but we enjoyed the food very much. The cakes are delicious and the macarons are excellent. Hopefully we were just unfortunate with the service that day, and this is not the norm, and the quality of the products can still be appreciated by others, and even us, if we ever decide to visit Swindon again.

Went in at 3pm to tried to order a flatbread (there were loads on the counter) to be told their kitchen was closed. Assume either they would have to waste a lot of food or end up serving stale stuff the next day and beyond. settled for a coffee in the end which was luke warm. not overly impressed.

Awful service. Staff too busy chatting and giggling at the till to serve people. Needless to say...went elsewhere
