Rosedene in Sunderland

Dogs in the "no dogs" raised area again and staff not dealing with it. A couple of weeks ago a dog was eating from a diners plate on the floor. Beware of eating here. Maybe the people with the dogs can't read the signs.

Came for drinks while visiting family and we were served by Jodie. I must say what lovely down to earth girl! She was so friendly and attentive and made us feel really welcome. Would highly recommend. Thank you to Jodie for being so lovely and good craic! Will definitely return.

Fantastic staff, Especially Tom & Donna. Friendly as ever and always very helpful. The surroundings are always immaculate and my husband said the Landlord is beautiful. Be back soon

The Rosedene is a great venue and a lovely atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and professional. We come here regularly and we are always made to feel very welcome. I’m a vegan and the menu has a lots of vegan options and good value for money.

We booked the conservatory for our son’s baptism on the 23rd June - great buffet and outstanding customer service from Tom and Donna throughout the day. They are a credit to the company - embrace their welcoming manner and expertise - Thank you both.

Came here on the back off a previous visit for food and drinks. We were made to feel very welcome. The food was lovely once again and the drinks tasted nice. Staff did the necessary check backs on food. The manger Debbie Went above and beyond for us very friendly and chatty. We will return again very soon.

Went to the Rosedene today and both our meals were very poor . Lamb KOFTAS was overcooked . Flatbread was solid.... horrible three tiny leaves of limp gem lettuce and I couldnt eat it . Friend had flame grilled steak which was also terrible , and no presentation . It looked like dog poo on a plate . When asked if everything was OK we said " no" she just apologised and added " weve just changed the menus ". As if that was a justification for the poor quality meals . We thought someone would come out of the kitchen but NO one bothered . This was Monday 15th April at 13.00 . If someone complains about the meal you do something about it and because they couldnt be bothered they now have this justified poor review.

Here for a wake well laid out and looked after by Donna who was absolutely great with no other help.no problem she just maid sure every one was happy

Rosedene is a lovely pub , great food got served by the lovely Freya she was very polite and welcoming always checking that everything was okay which I love , great service :) would return !

All the staff at the Rosedean are great, very friendly. Our favourite is Donna, she is always extremely friendly without being obtrusive. She is like that with everyone who arrives at the pub. Also very professional. She is certainly an asset to the Rosedean.

Great vegan options on the menu and they actually tasted good and amazing service from our server Freya, she was professional, friendly, and was happy to deal with a fussy vegan and make substitutions to my meal x

Thanks to the team especially Donna we had a fantastic visit with our large family for lunch recently. From pre ordering our meals to sitting down at lunch we had super star service from Donna throughout. We had a brilliant stay with some excellent food and we will be keeping The Rosedene in mind for our future family get togethers.

We recently had a family funeral here, as sad as it was we are so appreciative of the pub on a whole and specifically a lady called Donna who went above and beyond all night.

Attended as a family, large group of 16 for a 60th birthday celebration. We had prebooked and pre-ordered our food from the festive menu.Upon arrival we were pointed to our reserved table which was set up nice. Once we were all seated a member of staff came over and asked if we were ready for starters. Did not take any drinks orders but we just went and got these ourselves. Starters came out very slowly, and despite everything being written down orders were still wrong. 2 members of the party didn't receive their starters until everyone else had finished. We'd had to chase these up as kitchen had forgotten. We then asked for the bottle of prosecco that was to come free with bookings over 10. Was told by a very unfriendly member of staff that they weren't doing this as had to claim through company itself. We found the original email with information on and eventually after much arguing we were the prosecco. Mains eventually came out and the disappointment continued. Steaks were not cooked as ordered and all pretty much burnt and not served on a skillet with fried onions as advertised. A few oven chips and a piece of tomato. The turkey Xmas dinners were awful, frozen mixed veg, a very hard overcooked pig in blanket, frozen Yorkshire pudding, raw parsnips, piece of processed turkey and watery gravy. We ate what we could and got the bill, for them to "forget" to deduct the £85 deposit we paid. Again after a final argument we had this rectified. We would absolutely never eat here again. Staff were rude and not bothered. If you like to pay over the odds for an iceland ready meal then this is the place for you. If not, avoid!
