Not great. Pigeon flew in, stayed about 3 hours maybe more . Went for drinks - good vibe but for food wasn’t great the food an hour late. Conversation was new chef - ok but did not say when ordered and manager (at the time) didn't care. Bar staff very good.

I stayed at the hostel for a couple of days for my stay in London, and although I really appreciated the prime location of the place, I had a rather poor experience. The room was always stuffy, smelling of burned fat and food from the kitchen, I reckon, and there was no Air Conditioning or similar to ensure air circulation. The hostel beds were already laid through and cleaning service was not the best either, since I suddenly had mandarin peels, old socks and vapes lying on my bed when I got to my bunk. The staff is really, really nice and tried to make the stay as good as possible. I have stayed at enough hostels prior to this one to be able to compare it, so I was not having any unreasonable expectations for it to be like a hotel or similar. The bathroom was very small and dirty, the rooms quite dark as well.

We found this pub after our coach driver dropped us near Borough Market. It was mid pm on Sunday 24th and we were thirsty. We saw a Lunch Special sign outside advertising cheese burger & fries for £7.50. So in we went. We didn't order the cheese option but instead ordered two alternatives on the menu priced at £10 & £11 plus two half pints of lager for which I paid £27.50! An Aussie guy served me. No problem there. He was very polite. By the way, I hadn't ordered takeaways. Imagine our surprise when a young man delivered the order to our table. No plates. To be fair there was cutlery and serviettes in front of us. The burgers, wrapped in greaseproof paper, were handed to us. They were quite small and didn't look over appealing. I didn't ask at the time of ordering if our burgers came with fries and wasn't told they didn't. I just assumed they would, like the lunch special cheese burger option. I didn't make a great fuss. Just expressed surprise to our young server. I was probably in a state of shock, lol. So you get fries with the cheaper cheese burger but not with the dearer burger options at £2.50 and £3.50 extra! Very expensive for what they were by the way. Overall a disappointing visit /experience. It's over a week since it happened and I am still feeling miffed and robbed. Would definitely not recommend your place. Back to McDonald's for me in the future.

We had some post matinee theatre drinks in here, decent beer, standing room only but able to stay by the bar. The garden was packed despite the cold.

Excellent pub, really friendly staff who seemed to be actually enjoying their work. Good value too. Less than a tenner for the 2 drinks that cost £15 in another pub nearby.

Outstanding pub. Great value. Good drinks and good service. Decent burgers. Solid place to pop in for drinks and a bite to eat.

We stayed one night here while walking the London part of the Thames path. We stayed in one of the attic rooms for 2. There is the cheaper option to share rooms as the building is also a hostel, but our hosteling days are over. The room was basic but nicely done, no coffee or tea provided, no tv in the room, but I quite liked that. The bed was comfortable and the en-suite bathroom was clean and surprisingly sized for the space. We paid around £90 for the night and would happily stay here again.

Recently spent a few nights in Southwark and checked out a few of the pubs. This was a nice pub with lots of seating and outside seating. Quirky pub.

Impressively clean pub (toilets were spotless ) extremely friendly and welcoming staff, who made our group so welcome . Great value for money too 👍

We had a great stay overall and the room was clean and tidy. The only problem we had was it got so cold at night and the central heating didn’t come on once which, for February in the UK is really not ideal. Other than that though we enjoyed our stay and it’s location is great

Stopped in late in the evening. Got a table for 5 right away. This is your typical pub which is what we were looking for. Service was great. Burgers very good. Drinks plentiful. Price reasonable.

Went to a friend's birthday here in March - good garden that was covered with plenty of space. Good choice of drinks and those that had food said it was good! Would definitely visit again.

me aloje en este hostel que esta arriba del bar , un vergüenza que una ciudad como londres permita un lugar tan sucio, estuve 24 hs en el lugar y nunca limpiaron los baños que son solo 3 para 60 personas , estas leyendo bien solo 3, tiene 4 duchas pero una no andaba, me toco una habitación de 5x5 y eramos 9 personas adentro , con olor repugnante , no pases ni por la puerta es el mejor consejo que puedo darte.

I went to this pub on an afternoon and stayed till evening. It was great for a drink and food. I had a vegetarian burger which was very good, and a few drinks. Tap water was also readily available on a self-serve basis, and it was possible to order hot drinks at the bar (though no decaf options). There was a covered outdoor seating area with a heat lamp. I am aware they also offer accommodation but as I did not use this, my review is based on my day and evening visit as a pub-goer, not as part an overnight stay.

“It is what it is” I think is a good way to sum it up. We booked a 9 bed bunk room out for two families (they no longer allow children to stay which I agree with). For £9 per person per night it really is great value for a London stay. Very conveniently located, a small walk to either Southwark or London Bridge stations. It wasn’t the quietest (and it could have done with a little bit of a better dust) but if it is just a bed you are looking for then it could be perfect. The staff were friendly and attentive when needed. The pub downstairs was very lively but had a very happy, local type feel to it with no problems seen. This would definitely suit a group of friends or just somewhere to lay your head when passing through. We had a view of The Shard from our window (We we’re very close to speaking to an adjoining room of men at 4am due to their noise but we did have children with us)

I visited this pub for the first time a year and a half ago (I live round the corner) and loved it for drinks but the food was not good at all. Very tough burgers and undercooked chips. Always had amazing lovely staff though. However in the last few weeks I’ve had the burgers again and they are absolutely incredible and amazing value for money. Proper brioche buns and lovely patties. How amazing! Now it’s the best pub in the area.

I wrote this review at 3.30am having not slept a minute. Some kind of rave going on in the dorm Nextdoor, very loud other customers. Rude staff on arrival. For £12 a night you can’t expect much but even so! Facilities are appalling, piss covered...

The most disgusting pub I have ever visited. Dirty. Rude staff. Horrific food. Watered down drinks. Filthy toilets. Run a mile before you enter this hell hole.
