Dropped in for a quick bite to eat before the cinema and I’m so glad we did. The service was brilliant and the food was stunning, on top of that we couldn’t believe what great value our meal was. So glad the cinema was busy and we got to eat here.Will definitely be back again for more delicious food and lovely staff. Thanks

We were wanting a meal out the other Friday and decided to try Rose Cottage as it has recently re-opened, we were not disappointed, the drinks were very reasonably priced. While looking through the menu we sat next to an open fire. We chose the three course meal which was great value for money and excellent fresh produce used and most filling. We will definitely be returning. Thanks.

Beautiful evening. Started off with complimentary cocktails called the Gin Sling that were just amazing. Followed by our tomato and basil soups which were gorgeous and warm. For my partners main he had chicken which he described as “very good”, while I had the beef which was just perfect, the purée was just out of this world. Finally our dessert of chocolate and bourbon brownies with ice cream filled with whisky. The service was also great. Lovely evening.

Wow what a beautiful meal with beautiful company. As soon as we entered, we were offered a complimentary cocktail or soft drink. 2 x Gin Slings ordered, followed be a complimentary taster. Baked Fig with Cornish blue cheese, wrapped in Prosciutto. Absolutely stunning! Our starters were, Duck Liver Pate’ And Gin and beetroot salmon. Main course were, slow braised beef brisket, roasted parsnip purée with purple sprouting broccoli with a red wine jus. I had Roasted chicken breast with dauphinois potato, spring kale and port jus. We obviously tasted each other’s meals and they were amazing, hot and filling. To finish, we both went for the chocolate and bourbon brownie. I could have eaten 5 of these, they were amazing. A shot of gin accompanied with some home made truffles (I had 3) finished the night fantastically. Great staff Great chefs Great venue Great food Great price. Thanks to everyone involved with this ever growing venue. This is a great place to go before hitting the cinema in redruth, as we did.

My wife and I have visited this venue many times before and enjoyed the cuisine weather a breakfast or an evening meal,then this place had a bit of a wobble,but has reopened and wow have they raise their game we've been there for Valentines night meal, two new chef's one original member of the staff,who is efficient and extremely helpful as is the lovely new waitress, everything worked like clockwork, from cocktails to desert with exquisite food an unbelievable upgrade, this place is well worth a visit, this is only a small public house,and restaurant, but I assure you, you will not be disappointed with the very high standards this venue offers in cuisine and service.

We had eaten here previously under the old management and we were disappointed when it closed. After seeing it had recently reopened we popped in the other night for a meal and some drinks. I must say we were quite impressed. There have been some minor changes inside and a much improved smaller menu with enough choice to suit every taste, (the previous menu was too big). Good service and still very good value for food and drink with specials on 2 or 3 course meals. We had stuffed chicken and belly pork and both dishes were delicious. We really hope past reputations can be put where they belong in the past and Rose Cottage becomes the success it should be. Please give it a go.

We came for a family birthday meal nice friendly and attentive staff great food and fast service we will be returning again for sure.

Arrived at short notice but they could fit my friend and I in. The atmosphere was joyous! The roaring fire, soft music and seating was charming. The food arrived in a timely manner and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The woman serving was also a delight.

It was absolutely fabulous, the service and welcome was great and as for the food the presentation was excellent and taste incredible, all freshly cooked highly recommend it.

Just got home after a lovely evening. The salad starter was lovely and fresh with a lovely dressing. For mains I had the Apple and pork burger with chips, the burger was delicious with loads of flavour and the chips hand cut and yummy, the salad fresh . My husband had the steak which was literally melt in the mouth tender. The crumble and custard really nice and tea and coffee good. Got to make a special mention for the little almond buscuit/cake with the tea and coffee, they were incredible. Prices really good as well but to be honest the food and service were so good it would have been worth it if it had been dearer.

Visited this weekend and is now under new management. Food was fresh, well-cooked, nice and with big portions and friendly staff. Very impressed and will be going back again soon :)

My wife and I popped in for a meal and was greeted by friendly and helpful staff, the meal was hot and really tasty, the steaks was cooked to perfection.... We shall return, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Now open again and about time. Fantastic meal on Friday evening. Having read the previous reviews, which was before the reopening, I’ve had to level the playing field. Great service with a very warm welcome. A few cocktails after a truly beautiful meal. Everything cooked to perfection and presented with attention to detail. Really delightful tastes throughout our shared meal. This will be the place when we need a treat. Reasonably priced and really well worth a revisit for those who have left unreasonable feedback.

My partner and I live in close proximity to the Rose Cottage Tavern and were eagerly anticipating the businesses reopening (having read an article in the local press). The first opportunity we had to go for a meal was almost a week later. On entering the establishment we were warmly welcomed by the manager. The establishment was cosy and welcoming. Admittedly on first reading the menu, I wasn't entirely convinced that the food was anymore than your standard 'pub grub'(despite reading claims that the business is inspiring for more). In saying this we were pleasently pleased by the reasonable prices. Having studied the menu, my partner and I decided that we wanted to mix things up (creating a more sharing approach to our eating experience). We requested to share the deep fried halloumi main, with just the hunters chicken on its own with some roasted vegetables and chips on the side. The manager was more than happy to do this for us. 15/20 minutes later our meal arrived, we were so impressed. The chips were rough cut and in their skins. The generous portion of halloumi was served stacked and presented with a beautiful side salad with dressing and a pot of chilli dipping sauce. The hunters chicken arrived sizzling in BBQ sauce with a generous topping of melted cheese. It looked, smelt and tasted delious! We were extremely impressed by the food and high calibre of the new staff members. It goes without staying we will be back time and time again. If you are looking for some where that is cut above your average food pubs in the area, this is the place to go.

Hardly ever open any more,due to landlords bad attitude to firms,local residents,and customers alike,has been a superb venue in its time,i will await someone to take it over and restore service asap! go somewhere else in the town,lots of nice pubs..

Extremely rude owner, don't waste your time going here there are much nicer pubs in Redruth and Camborne that value your custom.

Have been several times always spot on for food and value although I feel the menu may be a bit big maybe better to put more focus on a small selection of specials with the lush pork belly as the signature dish.

Went to see the Vibrators and support band BlackOut on Saturday 17th March. Both bands were excellent. Friendly lively crowd. Friendly helpful staff. Really good welcoming atmosphere. Excellent buffet meal provided, which had lots of choice including vegetarian. Good quality beers. Will be returning soon to sample main menu.

Have eaten here twice in as many weeks. Still good food and Service by friendly staff. Amazing Value for money and would like to see it gain more customers. If you are local or just in the area please give it a try.

been in for drinks several times really friendly owner and staff, so we booked our Christmas dinner ,well this was by far the best meal we have had in a long time, lovely atmosphere Denise and Mandy were terrific and the food was delightful. All the dishes were served hot on hot plates and nothing was too much trouble for the staff or the owner, even had one of our deserts in a foil dish placed in a bag to take home.

The place has a rather chaotic feel. I have eaten there several times and each time there has been something very odd about the whole experience. Once the cheese cake I was served was on the edge of going off but it was still the best cheese cake that I have ever eaten. Tonight, the chef had tipped about a pint of gravy over my roast dinnerbut it was still really tasty. If you are looking for perfection, go elsewhere. But if you are looking for tasty food and real value for money, and if you don't mind a slightly chaotic atmosphere this is really a very good place to eat.

Went here for food and drinks before an evening at the Cinema. Lovely welcome as we entered and sat at the bar and ordered drinks.

Went to try out for our Christmas party service was okay (tyacks and inn four all seasons made you feel like a vip) the food was not great and didn’t reflect the price they charge and drinks are on the expensive side as well

We turned up on spec prior to a theatre trip and were told there was no hot food as they had a charity event on that evening.... but then they said they could do a limited menu..... Hey presto 6 meals in 40 minutes and we all had a great meal drinks and service xx Thanks again for sorting us all out at very short notice xx

Always have lovely food when visiting, I come quite often and have never had a bad meal here. Menu also changes for various days, so there's always something different. Staff are really friendly and helpful, nothing's ever too much trouble. Atmosphere is nice, quite cosy! Prices are very good for what you get, especially the deals with the two meals and a bottle of wine. Cant recommend this place enough

I've eaten at the Rose quite a few times since it's been refurb'd and the food has been great every time. Always fresh and really really reasonably priced - including the drinks (I'm actually not sure how they do it...). You sometimes have to wait a bit for your food, but that never bothers me.

We were the only people dining and to be honest I think we were the only people in the pub! The food was good though, but the menu isn't extensive. I probably wouldn't go again

Gisteren hier gegeten. Het is een restaurant aan de rand van Redruth waar vooral locale gasten komen. Het restaurant serveert een simpele hap voor een simpele prijs. Wij wilden vegetarisch eten, dat gaf wat stress maar werd keurig opgelost middels een salade met rijkelijk kaas. Een aanrader om te gaan eten!

I love that the Rose Cottage is spacious, with plenty of room between tables, yet manages to provide a cosy atmosphere due to the layout of the building. I love the eclectic decor and the peaceful ambiance.

Stayed in the hotel up the road, so decided to visit after recommended by hotel staff! This place you could simply roll up in you PJ's and fit in! A eclectic collection of rooms that just don't fit together. We ate next to a dancing pole! (Weird)

We were recommended this place by staff at our hotel and told that it wasn't fancy but the food was home cooked and good value and the staff were great.

We had a great time on Saturday evening. We all had ribe eye steaks (6) great food and drinks .Very relaxed evening .

Ate here with family and every single plate was fantastic . Prices far too cheep for quality we received, service was great and friendly when back in Cornwall will definitely be back cannot recommend enough

Unbelievable! Table for 10 booked well in advance restaurant closed when we got there a telephone call to the owner established he had been let down by staff and would not be opening!!! Absolutely disgusting he didn't even have the courtesy to be at his restaurant to relay this news. My advice would be don't book unless you have a plan B. To add insult to injury we were offered a 20% when we ate there again. As if!!!

This was my first visit and I couldn't ask for anything better. The food and service was very good and I will go back again.

We visit Rose Cottage weekly, enjoying with the family and friends when they visit, curry night or pizza night. Amazing value, good wholesome food, lovely flavours, lovely surrounds and super friendly staff who can't do enough for you. Since it's refurbishment and re-opening we have had breakfasts, lunches, dinners (for two, Sunday roast, family) and birthday celebrations.

This place used to have a bad reputation for rowdy behaviour and rubbish service. It has had a complete 're-vamp' and is now light airy and comfortable. Had a superb lunch, 'Asian chicken' with all the trimmings. Also evening meal, 'Stuffed sweet pepper'' Excellent. Price was amazingly cheap.

We was greeted by a friendly barmaid, decided to order the fillet steaks, only to be told they was unavailable. We was un able to find some comfortable seating for our meal as they were already occupied! My partner ordered her steak medium rare, it was delivered well done, a replacement was provided, however none of the accompaniments was replaced & we did not eat our meal together. During our meal a band started to play very loud, so much we could not speak to each other!! I think the venue needs to decide on there cliental, who do they wish to attract on a Saturday night, eaters or drinkers . The food quality was very good also the waitress were very helpful. I did get asked if I drove a certain car when i was settling the bill by the owner who was very very rude & aggressive!! Don't know what his problem is with BMW owners?? Apart from this individual, myself & partner had a great night

We stopped off in Redruth on our way down to The Lizard in Cornwall. Stumbled across The Rose Cottage.

We always received a very warm welcome. the food once again was amazing. Really creative and plenty portions.

Recently had Lunch here at Easter, good food at a good price for families and the service was great, we will be back when visiting Redruth again later in the year

Went with family for a meal which to be honest was absolutely disgusting. Although the dining area was empty we were put next to the gents toilet. Service was non-existent. We even had to ask for cutlery. Meals were not brought out together and one person's salad accompaniment to his incredibly dry and almost inedible chicken only arrived ten minutes after the main meal. I love dogs but they shouldn't be wandering around a restaurant no matter how cute they are. The best part of my meal was the icecream selection but the slopped on a plate crumble and so-called custard of one of our party was awful beyond description. Wish I could find something to praise but this is one eating place where the future is definitely not rosy unless it bucks up its ideas.

Attended this venue with a largish group of ladies for lunch. Food excellent and all served in good time. Food hot and tasty, plentiful and so reasonable. Will return again and again.

A group of us visited on Friday lunchtime. It was busy but nothing was too much trouble. The service was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals which arrived promptly and piping hot. Several of us had desserts which were homemade and delicious. Good portion sizes and value for money. Will definitely be visiting again with the hubby! Well done guys.

On a work trip to Redruth with a one night stay in town. Walking around the town on a Monday evening was a bit of a ghost town. Came across Rose Cottage and thought it was a pub which might do food. When I entered how wrong I was it's a restaurant that serves beer. Marvellous Mon eve offer 'curry and a pint for a fiver' but also a varied menu. Eccentric owner who made me very welcome and I enjoyed a two course meal washed down with a tasty Pilsner. Will take my wife there for a meal one day.

We have eaten here a number of times since it has reopened. The food is excellent (would highly recommend the Asian Chicken Salad - delicious) and so is the service, staff are very friendly and congratulated the chef at our last visit as we were so impressed . We have tried to book for Mother's Day but unfortunately they are fully booked, this is our fault for leaving it so late :( Would highly recommend.

I booked a table here, last night, for a birthday meal for my husband, before we went to the Regal Theatre. I chose it because of the close proximity to the theatre and because a friend had recommended it.

We were staying at a local hotel and fancied a walk into town and looked to TripAdvisor for recommendations. This place popped up and within a 10 min walk we were there.

Have called in for breakfast a couple of times and enjoyed that so went for Sunday lunch.Was very busy when we went and some of the staff were a bit harassed and feeling the pressure.The lunch was good we particularly liked the deserts.Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Wlll be back again, very good value indeed.

Excellent food at sensible prices. Friendly staff. Atmosphere a bit bleak for our taste, but I suppose that is the modern trend, and January is a quiet month for eating out. Overall a great addition to the local eating options and we''ll definitely be going again

Booked a table after been unable to book a few other places with it been almost Christmas but so glad I got to try rose cottage as it was really great, the food was cooked fresh and was delicious, the staff were welcoming and friendly, I would definitely recommend everyone to try rose cottage for a meal

Stopped here for a meal before going to the cinema after being tipped off about it. So glad we did too. We had the chicken with wild rice and the pork belly and creamy mash and it was the best food we've tasted in Cornwall,The service too was fantastic. All the ladies working were very friendly and enthusiastic and made our time here even better.

Four friends had a lovely meal here. We each had different main courses and thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. I had the pork belly which was delicious. The service was excellent and great to meet the chef and pass on our compliments. we will definitely make this a regular eating place.

Rose Cottage - what a wonderful restaurant/pub. I approached Rose Cottage on very short notice after being let down by another newly opened restaurant in Redruth. I needed a party for 25 people. They were amazing. Nothing was too much for them. They set side a section at the back of the Tavern for us. They made it look stunning and even put up decorations. I asked them if they could do a birthday cake. They could! It was beautiful and delicious and reasonably priced! Your cake artist is fantastic! Thank you for that. The service was fast and friendly. The food was fantastic! I can not think of one bad thing to say. Even when a pregnant guest ordered duck (which by the way was delicious) and then because of hormones decided she didn't like it, they changed it for her to something else.. Thank you for making my daughter's birthday a wonderful experience.

Wow what a nice surprise. The Tavern was really nice. Warm reception when we went in to the pub, friendly bar staff. We had drinks and then decided to eat in the restaurant. The menu was of a good choice. We all chose different food and this all came at the same time, the food was lovely and the presentation was really good.
