New landlords only open a week. seem friendly and I shall visit again. Although I do miss the wholesome lady who used to run the pub.

Came into the pub for a nice quiet drink with some friends, at first inspection it seemed like a friendly place. But, it was extremely cold. I asked the staff if the fire could be put on and they explained they had to ask the landlord as he gets annoyed when they put the heating on. When it came round to getting a drink, the staff were rude and refused to serve me straight away as football were playing. What appeared to be the landlady and Landlord were sat at the bar drinking ignoring the fact that there were lots of people waiting to be served. While I was sitting with my friends the landlady was being incredibly rude to the staff and customers. I did not feel welcome and will not be returning anytime soon.

We popped in here on the look out for just a coffee. On entering (at 1pm) they were still serving breakfast along with a full menu. So we deciding on trying a breakfast. The landlady was lovely and the pub itself is beautiful inside (the outside doesn't so it any justice - I would never think of popping in there!) The breakfast was the best I've ever had! A large breakfast for £7.50! I fully recommend it. It has something for everyone there - tea rooms, pool table, sports screens nd it's dog friendly. Perfect pub. We'll be returning.

We do not recommend this venue as it is rather small area for performing. The owners appear to be selective as to what performers they have, regardless of whether they're paid performers or fundraising when performers play for free. Limited dates available and they often cancel, to replace with others for no apparent reason.

This is a nice pub and a lot of effort has been put in by the current landlord. Unfortunately we experienced such juvenile behaviour and foul language exchanged between the bar staff and local clientele that we quickly finished our drinks and left. There are better places to spend your money

First of all walked in, received many dirty looks off the workers there, they treated me with disrespect all throughout the night, bad quality food and drinks. Would not recommend this to anyone. The dirty looks however, were not the only dirty things I received as a young adult who I believe to be the owners sun said to me "your really nice looking, you have amazing tits". I felt horrified by this remark.

It's changed a huge amount under new management and for the better. They now also have a tea room at the back which serves breakfast and lunch - all delicious and reasonably priced. A beautiful garden area with flowers and quirky ornaments. An asset to this lovely village!

Re-opened after recent revamp, good range of beer. The food is simple, unfussy pub grub at good value. Ate recently as a group of 14 and the pub looked after us in a cosy dining area. Also recommend the all day breakfasts.

I must have passed this pub a thousand times and not gone in. It always appeared to be a little rough and ready but underwent a revamp a few months ago. It is very different now! The lounge area reminded me of the homeware department in John Lewis. All very modern and in good taste. Flowers on the tables and fireside ornaments that I would happily have in my own home. The various separate areas are well laid out, with the result that one large or noisy group does not disturb the whole pub. With the good selection of beers on offer and live footy on the tv (with the sound turned down) I may not walk by quite so often without popping in for a coffee.

Called in for Sunday lunch . The pub is spot on. The food is lovely the beer is fresh and the wine is good. This place deserves the support you would travel for the roast !!!

The tale of this pub is tied to the tall of this high street, namely that it's best days are behind it. A couple of years ago, hopes were high when it received a major facelift and refurb inside and out. This lifted it from a fairly squalid lager and football lout local (like its rival across the road) and offered the opportunity of a fresh start with craft beers, wines and decent food to do justice to the fine produce available on the doorstep. The problem is, the ageing population of Somersham just don't provide the custom establishments like this need to survive. The best pub in the village became a TESCO Metro for the same reason and ever since, all the high street shops, retailers etc suffered. Sadly, despite the refresh, it looks like the Roe and Crown is destined to revert to type judging by our last visit. Which is a real shame

We have been a few times during the evening, late afternoon and on quiz night. It can be quiet during the day when I have been as they don't do food (currently) which is a shame as its a big place and currently the only pub in the village centre. The evenings and especially weekends have a good atmosphere. Quiz night on a Thursday is ran well and fun with friends. Space outside when the weather is nice but not a beer garden. Very friendly bar staff and a good choice of drinks.

Thought we would give this ago as we haven't never been in here before and it had just recently been renovated. The food was ok we had roast pork with lovely cooked veg the only downside to it was the fire place kept sending out plumes of smoke into the room and my wife said veg could have done with being a bit warmer. But all said and done the staff were lovely and we didn't wait to long for the food to arrive.

Great meal experience for a large party of 9 of us, thanks. If you could increase the vegetarian option from a pasta dish that would be fantastic, but full marks from all of us

On a very busy Saturday night we had delicious main course and sweets for 10 adults and 3 children and although the service was a little slow, the staff were very pleasant and obliging. Would certainly eat there again.

This pub/restaurant has only recently re-opened after a period of closure and this was a first opportunity to try out their Sunday lunch menu. Whilst offering the usual beef, pork, chicken options they have done so with a twist offering traditional beef and yorkshire but with slow roasted belly pork and chicken breast rather than the more usual 'carved slices'. A vegetarian option was also available. The meal came with a good selection of traditional vegetables and portions of perfect size. My companions also enjoyed the desserts on offer. The service was pleasant and the newly refurbished surroundings gave a pleasant ambience which neatly crossed over between pub and restaurant. All in all a positive return to business and with a good selection of real ales to enjoy before lunch it could not have been more enjoyable. Certainly I shall look forward to a return visit to the village and to the Rose and Crown in the future

A gorgeous country pub, which has been renovated to an extremely high standard. Beautiful decor and a cosy feel, plus delicious food! The staff were really friendly and accommodating towards my son’s allergy. We will definitely visit again!

Booked a table for a Xmas lunch back in September. Arrived to the greeting you’ll have to wait an hour for food cos we’ve two big groups in. No apologies or would you like a drink while you wait. We were then told we couldn’t have the festive menu as we hadn’t preordered. I had emailed in September asking if they needed us to preorder and hadn’t received a reply so took it as no. Needless to say we didn’t bother staying for the food as the customer service was so bad

Now reopened (Under new management?) with new furniture and a return to the quality and welcome of the past. When originally opened, the cafe offered a lovely "family feel" with excellent service and quality. The cafe had slumped badly in the quality of the experience in recent years, after a change of owners, and my previous visit had been quite unpleasant, so it was VERY refreshing to find a smiling welcome, rapid service and excellent coffee. The new tables are perhaps less rustic than the previous versions, which has lost a little of the atmosphere, but the cafe is scrupulously clean and retains the previous layout. The seating area is quite small and if you are planning to lunch there I would say that booking is essential. It does get very busy at times. The food is reasonably priced, though not "cheap" and the quality was excellent. Attention to detail has made a huge difference to the offering and it is clear that the bad memory of the past has been banished.
