Have been multiple times since the new ownership, first time was terrible and I notified the owners as they were new at the time but didn’t leave a review. Been great since until today. Me and my partner (vegetarian) went we ordered soup & sandwich combo (Chicken/Bacon Mayo) and Brie & Cranberry Panini with Chips. Food comes and my sandwich was hot Bacon & Chicken with mayo, but was expecting a cold pre-mixed Chicken & Bacon mayo, but I can deal with that. My partner was about to bite his Panini and thought it didn’t look right so decided to open it and found that it was Bacon & Cranberry with no Brie. We took the plate to the young girl that served us and told them, they took the plate but didn’t get a single apology. And eventually got a replacement when I had nearly finished my food. My partner is vegetarian by choice for over 20 years, however some people are due to health reasons and could cause serious issues. I have been in contact with the owners to pre-warn them of the negative review I’ll be leaving and they have offered an apology and refund. I have declined the refund as we did eat the food eventually received correctly. They also lost out on us ordering desserts and more drinks due to what happened and went elsewhere on the way home. The owners have advised they will be speaking to staff and have made a change on the till to highlight it’s a vegetarian meal so hopefully won’t happen again, but the damage has already been done and will put us off visiting for quite sometime.

Very much improved with the new management, first visit after a few years, nice decor inside and good choice on menu. Minus a star though as my coffee mug was dirty, unfortunately already drank half of it until I reached the residue smeared down the inside. Replacement was quickly received though with an apology. And also the veggie breakfast was okay but not the best I've had, asked for poached egg and it came fried, toast arrived a good few minutes after the breakfast came so couldn't just tuck in. Nice seating area outside, may return to try again. Got quite busy and loud after 11am on a Saturday, lots of cyclists.

Stopped off at this café while out for a motorbike ride and enjoyed a delicious slice of homemade coffee cake with a lovely cappuccino. Lovely service in a great setting. I checked out what other diners were eating too and it all looked delicious. Well worth a visit and I’ll definitely return.

Visited today and sat outside in the gorgeous garden area. I had a sausage & egg barm & the other half had a bacon & egg barm. Both were absolutely delicious 😋 The sausages were top quality ( you get 3 on your barm! 😮) Really enjoyed our little visit again,we've been a few times now and it's always fabulous ♥️

We we're extremely disappointed with the service, as I asked the lady working whether the cranberry sauce was seedless, I explained that I have an intolerance to any seeds, that they make me very ill. She checked whether the cranberry sauce in the pannini with brie, bacon & cranberry sauce had seeds in. She came back from the kitchen & told me, "No, It doesn't have any seeds in" after eating 1/4 of the pannini I noticed a seed & was shocked to find inside it was actually seeded cranberry sauce. I returned the meal, worrying that I would be ill. I have posted this to make others aware with allergies or intolerance. The food was delicious & well presented. Although this has put us off ever returning. It's a shame as we've been many times before.

Came over the weekend for the Mother’s Day afternoon tea which I shared with my little boy! The afternoon tea itself was amazing and I really enjoyed it especially the sandwiches and it was the perfect size! My partner got a panini which looked amazing and tasted the same. It’s a great place for families and I will definitely be returning in the future. My only critique was that it seemed a bit stressful at times due to the busyness which is understandable and also a bit slippy on the floor in places due to dogs and spillages which needs to be kept on top of! The staff were lovely tho and I really enjoyed my visit ❤️

Not the cleanest and fairly poor hygiene practices . Cutlery was filthy we had to clean it ourselves with wipes. The chef used her apron to dry her hands after coming out the kitchen for some salt for whatever she was making. Her hands were covered in mayo/ salad cream . There was also a waitress/ staff member brushing/styling another member of the teams hair in a food prep area. In full view of me and my partner . I’ve been ill for the remainder of today and will not be returning . £24 was reasonable for 2 breakfasts and 2 drinks and the cakes looked good, however, we were keen to get out after witnessing what we did

The food was excellent, service was great and the cost was acceptable. Our order was split, so we got a free slice of cake - thank you.

Refurbished and roomy, No crafts as before. Latte at £3.95 is most expensive I have had and although good, overpriced and not in line with other hot drinks which are around £3. Traybakes were homemade and generously sized and tasty.

What a warm welcome! Delicious food with quality ingredients. Perfect place for families . Our autistic daughter was delighted with her farm fresh eggs. My gluten and dairy free diet was no issue and the swap outs were also great quality- often they are not but it made all the difference. Thanks to the staff - we will be back!

First viditvhere since it was refurbished and WOW what an improvement! The place is now clean smart and inviting, the staff friendly and very helpful and the foodcwas delicious and plentiful. I went for the small breakfast at £8.25 which included an americano coffee with hot milk. It arrived promptly (especially since there were 7 cyclists in our group). The granary toast was the best I have ever had in a cafe, the poached egg was cooked to perfection and the small tomatoes were just right and very tasty. I will definitely be back.

What a lovely place, staff so warm and welcoming. Lots of space, dogs welcome, decor so different and the food just beautiful, cooked to perfection. Noticed too a little children’s area that we don’t need but thought about young families and it would definitely be a great place for kids, little books too. As it says on the tin, all local produce. We go to cafes all the time and this is definitely worth a visit and will now become one of our regulars. What more to say……10/10

Only stopped off for a quick brew and a bite to eat, but ended up staying for almost 2 hours. Great staff and even better service. The coffee was quality, and my cake was moist and tasty. My wife had a chip barmcake, and I've got to say, the chips 🍟 were plentiful. We opted to sit at the outside seating area, which is a nice suntrap. Quiet and relaxing place to go, and the other patrons were delightful to chat with. Superb atmosphere.

Wow, we knew Roots was under new management, but what a massive difference. Bright and much more space. Spotlessly clean and lovely welcoming staff. The food was delicious and piping hot. They have a fresh orange machine, ohhh, this is a game changer, I'd visit again just for the orange juice. Toilets are spotless and smell lovely. Also, they supply a basket of toiletries, including deodorant, which is a nice touch. We had a lovely pleasant morning and will most definitely be visiting again.

Friendly staff, good service and plesant sourandings. We normally call in arond lunch time for a breckfast which is reasonable priced and very good. on a nice day you can sit outside by the pool / lake. I think there is a fishing shop and one can fish ? I think they also rent static homes ? you would have to inquire we only pop in for a meal.
