We dined here twice during our stay at the hotel and the dinners were by far the best thing about our stay here. The chef and kitchen staff and waiting staff should all be commended for the excellent menu which changes each day and includes interesting and varied dishes, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed, thank you. The pleasant restaurant is light and welcoming with beautiful views across Tor Bay.

Unhelpful with dietary requirements, did not even attempt to help. Dinner was booked for four nights. The first night was fine with a pasta dish. Then came a third night of pasta - one being tasteless and watery. The fourth night came with a mushroom dish I couldn’t eat because I’m allergic to them. I explained and suggested a simple tweak to the menu so that I could eat a meal. The kitchen staff refused. The waitress told me the mushrooms in the stroganoff came separate but when it arrived they were in the sauce. Being far out of town, it’s difficult to eat elsewhere. The sweet dish arrived, the fruit was hot but the crumble was raw. So my dinner that last evening consisted of a bowl of soup . Service was good the first night only then we had a chase to have drinks served. No water on the table. The wines would arrive when we were just finishing our main course which spoiled the atmosphere of dining. Organisation was poor , no system of serving tables, we were kept waiting for everything. The vegetarian option for evening meal was one only so in effect- no choice. There wasn’t even a salad option, that would have been easy. I would suggest they buy in commercially made vegetarian foods, three nights of pasta with no options is not acceptable. I would never dine here again, a very unpleasant experience!

Booked to eat here whilst staying at the hotel, more for convenience than anything as we didn't want to drive anywhere! It turned out to be a worthwhile choice as both evenings, our meals were really nice, well presented, good portion sizes, nice variety of options and the staff at this restaurant/hotel are very good and well organised. The breakfasts on both days were also really good, plenty of choice, served to your table and efficiently ran. Pre booking a time slot was required for both dinner and breakfast and it seems to work well.

The breakfast menu was good so no criticism here. Likewise lunchtime bar meals (if required) were well supported. The biggest change since our last visit was in the variety of food offered in the evening.

So good we ate in rather than risk the dubious delights of Torquay. Several meals all good and very good table service from a super team.

Breakfast provided many choices but a couple of selections come with a premium. Any fish courses I had were very good my only issue would be with the flavourless roast turkey! Service was excellent - if anything too quick although I never felt I was being rushed.

Lovely looking hotel & all the staff in the bar area were very friendly. Manager that was behind reception when we booked the restaurant was not particularly friendly, a bit abrupt when we asked the receptionist if we could book, she turned to him to ask if there was a table for later & he just said "Yes Yes!" but the way it was put across was as if he had better things to worry about! We were not guests & just wanted an evening meal on our last night in the area. To be honest we nearly didn't book but couldn't be bothered to walk elsewhere. Went for the set meal option & the food was good if a bit top end price wise. Had to ask several times for the wine list & was bit annoyed when it didn't come until we got starters!, Service was very rushed & we felt it was more like the Butlins canteen in the 70`s! Decor & view from where we sat was great. Can not say we would recommend the restaurant but the bar is fine but needs to keep an eye on its beer stocks as ran out of some Larger`s & Ciders several times during the week!

Although not the place for a cheap meal, it is excellent value for the money paid. The food is of good quality, presented beautifully and tastes wonderful.

The food is good - Service is good but can be a little rushed and some tables are "too close together" but the food was very good and a good variety of choice.

Our visit was from 12th August 2013 unfortunately I found a piece of GLASS in my grapefruit after complaining to the manager I still haven't had a satisfactory explanation how it got there I am still waiting to hear from Lee Cullen regarding this matter I would like the name of the supplier so I can sort it out myself if they can't do it. Mr Cullen was supposed to keep me updated but I haven't heard from him since well before Christmas. I am very concerned about this and the flippant attitude as I read an article how a lady had glass in some mustard swallowed it and died. A lot of the visitors are Senior Citizens as am I. Maybe I will get an explanation now.

We went here on Easter Sunday for a late lunch. It wasn't a busy as I'd expected it to be and we found a table easily. The food took over half an hour to arrive which is unusual for a Lounge venue. There wasn't any atmosphere in the place and the food was fine but nothing special. It met our needs which was for food before a teatime performance at the theatre.
