It was a true spectacle that added to the experience. This was a celebration of meat at its finest. Every dish was a masterpiece—succulent pork ribs, tender lamb chops, melt-in-your-mouth black cod, perfectly cooked salmon, and flavorful chicken wings. Each bite was bursting with flavor and presented with genuine care by a friendly, attentive team. Though the ribs were initially lukewarm, they were quickly whisked away and returned hot and fresh—a seamless correction that showed their commitment to customer satisfaction. ROKA is a perfect blend of exceptional food, great service, and an unbeatable atmosphere. It’s an indulgent experience, but one where every penny feels well spent. We left satisfied, energized, and ready for the comedy club—already planning our next visit to explore more ROKA locations. Bravo to the team for creating such a memorable dining adventure!

I was so disappointed with my visit to Roka. The menu has clearly marked v and vg options, which I was excited about. I wanted to order the vegetable tempura & I informed the waitress that I had a shellfish allergy, to which she asked if ‘I was ok with cross contamination’ I responded confused, asking her to clarify as the menu CLEARLY marked the vegetarian options as V AND VG!!! She informed me that THEY DO NOT CHANGE THE OIL FOE VEGETARIAN FOOD OR VEGAN FOOD!!! Ie the fish is cooked in the SAME OIL!!!!!!! This meant I could eat 2 things on the entire menu, the avocado sushi, and the edamame beans … what a disappointing and truly disturbing fact to learn to be honest ! If you’re vegetarian or vegan - STEER CLEAR!!!

We just loved it. Not sure what more to say. Fantastic tasty food. Great service. Beautiful people all around. We really enjoyed spending time here especially on New Year's Eve! :)

Came here for my birthday, and the food was good. The beef skewer was a bit too salty though. But our waiter disappeared mid service and also forgot 2 of our orders. So that was slightly disappointing

Great restaurant with incredible sushi some of the best in London. Staff are really welcoming gave us discounts on the bill and free drinks that was really appreciated.

We went on the 24th of December, the service and the atmosphere was really nice however the food, we ordered sashimi and sushi was not fresh and very disappointing :( the only fresh dish was the iceberg salad. We went last year and we were so impressed with the quality of the food, I couldn’t believe how mediocre everything was.

Bottomless brunch was absolutely worth it. Food was delicious and the wine was free flowing.

Fuimos esta noche a celebrar el cumpleaños de mi hija, que nos entusiasmó a todos. Tristemente nos dieron una mesa bastante cerca de la parte delantera del restaurante y en unos 15 minutos nos dimos cuenta de que había una ráfaga horrible de viento frío amargo que nos golpeaba cada vez que la puerta principal se abría y cerraba. Para cuando nos dimos cuenta de lo mal que había llegado nuestra comida y para empezar a levantarse y moverse habría molestado a todos y también no podíamos ver ninguna mesa de repuesto ya que el restaurante estaba lleno. En general, aunque arruinó la comida para nosotros. Cuando le di esta retroalimentación a dos funcionarios, ambos admitieron saber que esto era un problema. Esto me hizo sentir más frustrado, ya que sabían que este era el caso, no deberían habernos sentado allí, al menos no sin informarnos del caso para que pudiéramos decidir si quedarnos o no. Básicamente nos sentaron allí esperando que no hiciéramos escándalo. La gélida corriente fría en última instancia significó que la comida no era tan agradable como debería haber sido, especialmente dado que es un restaurante tan caro. Como me dijo un miembro del personal - la próxima vez pedir una mesa lejos de la puerta - pero como un establecimiento de alta gama y caro no deberían estar sentando a los invitados en mesas que saben que son tan fríos que los comensales tienen que sentarse y comer con sus abrigos puestos.

Delicious Japanese food, great service, nice atmosphere. We had the tasting menu which had good variety, everything was fresh, beautifully presented and delicious. This restaurant was expensive but highly recommended.

I was invited for a business meal so I don’t know about pricing but we all had the seasonal tasting menu and it was incredibile. A lot of food, super fresh and full of taste. Would absolutely love to go back.

Visited this place twice in a week when we were staying at a neighbouring hotel. The wagyu beef is really exceptional, sushi excellent and deserts fab. It's very busy with lots of hustle and bustle, if you like that kind of thing. Efficient service, like a well oiled machine.

Nos topamos con ROKA después de un viaje de compras a Londres por suerte tenían una mesa para 2 , tuvimos una comida fantástica a la hora de la cena y el vino y la comida eran fenomenales. El ambiente era relajado y la cocina en el centro realmente añadió a la experiencia. Estamos reservados para volver este fin de semana con nuestra hija que ahora es lo suficientemente grande para apreciar la comida y el servicio amable.

Very disappointed in this restaurant that I had heard good things about. Shameful that all its food contains alcohol, and do not offer soya sauce without alcohol. Will provide them with more Detailed feedback and hope they’ll make it better in the future.

We had a wonderful time trying the tasting menu. The waiters were very attentive, the service was prompt and the food was fresh and tasty, especially the sashimi and yellowtail tartare. The place was packed. We had reservations for 8:30pm. I think the black cod is a bit overhyped, I preferred the seabream. Definitely recommend ROKA for a nice dinner.

Came here for a friend's birthday - the happy birthday on her dessert was a nice touch. The service was friendly and warm, and the food was enjoyable - pricey, but everything was well made and done. The only downside was it was very loud and our clothes smelt quite smokey afterwards, despite being seated against the wall and away from the kitchen island.

Had an absolutely enjoyable dinner at Roka. Food was 5/5, service 6/5. Only minor minus comes from background music, which was a bit loud for our liking. Will definitely come here again!

Absolutely incredible dining experience! The black cod was hands down the best I’ve ever tasted—perfectly cooked with a rich, buttery miso flavor that melts in your mouth. Food ok - black cod and tofu particular standouts - but service is awful. Mains delivered before starters and without sides. Tempura sushi not crispy. Rice was cold, twice. Waiters oblivious to customers walking in the restaurant and forcing them to give way & wait for the waiters to walk past. Really odd experience all on all. Better options available for the money.

Done the bottomless brunch at the Aldwych location before and thought we would try Charlotte Street this time. The waitress was quite cold and unfriendly. She seemed clueless about the vegetarian options which surely should be normal given how many people are vegetarian/vegan these days. The only substitutions made for vegetarian was some avocado maki and a spinach salad which were not substantial but at the Aldwych location there were more vegetarian options so extremely dissatisfied with this. 20 mins before the end of our booking she came over and told us it was our last glass of wine. Another waitress tried to top us up afterwards and the first waitress very loudly said “no it’s finished for them” which was just rude and unprofessional because we could hear that from 2 tables away.

Tried the premium tasting menu to celebrate my other half’s birthday. Tasty food and great service. One star down as would expect a bit more space between tables.

We came here for our anniversary and I must say, the food was just incredible. We decided to go for the tasting menu and oh boy, what a good idea! Cocktails were delicious and the service just amazing, I don't think I've received a better service in London I swear. As a loyal customer to Roka over the years, this was my first time visiting your Charlotte Street branch, I usually like to visit the Canary Wharf branch (impeccable service and food every time), I was shocked at how poorly the ‘Brunch’ is ran here. Firstly, we’re greeted by unpleasant and certainly unwelcoming staff (which we never get at your Canary Wharf branch, always such a pleasant and welcoming experience). Never in my life have I paid for a meal before eating it, we were asked to so this, so we all had to pay before we had even eaten. Secondly, our drinks were topped up twice the whole brunch, we were offered one last drink at the end. The food took a very long time to come out, no one took the time to explain the menu to some of the members of our booking. We had to send back raw chicken from one of our friend’s main course. Lastly, before anyone had finished eating their dessert (with cold ‘hot puddings’ and not-fresh fruit) these were taken away without asking anyone and we were rushed out. I am absolutely shocked at this service, it is disgraceful. The money we spent here was definitely not value for money or service.

I have used roka for years now but I have to say I was disappointed My PA was 50 and the service was not good as we waited too long between courses also the food was not as good as usual

Been coming since the restaurant opened , from the Morgana days , always consistent and by far the best ROKA in London and better than the ones abroad . Normally it’s a bit frustrating when the staff you know get sent to all the various outposts . But today a new guy was so good I wrote a review . Grazia Angelo , Italians are the best at service .

The brunch is good value for money. However the service charge at 14.5% is exorbitant so it leaves a sour taste at the end of the meal.

The service and ambiance were excellent. It’s a high-end restaurant, so the price is expected, but unfortunately I suffered the worst food poisoning I've had in a long time.

This place used to be brilliant - I first came nearly 20 years ago and have been many times over the years. I came back with my family this time to celebrate a special moment for my 18 year old daughter. The food is still very good - but it’s now insanely over priced and the place run in a cynical and brash way to extract as much £££ as possible… the final straw for me was being asked to tip on top of the 14.5% service charge that was already added to the bill. When I questioned this, the (friendly and apologetic) waiter said the service didn’t go to the staff. When I asked the manager, he said the service is split between front of house and back of house staff, and they invite diners to tip extra for good service. I don’t know which version of the story was true, but I’ve never experienced that in London. I wrote to the restaurant after to give feedback and got no reply…which tells me everything I need to know (not to mention I was sat under an air con vent dripping water on my head!),

Came for drinks. Shochu lounge closed. Advertised is open. Not a problem. Sat down outside. Asked for sommelier to get nice bottle of sake. Waited enough long. No server. No service. Left. This place used to be amazing. Now sadly is not.

Had the set lunch on a very quiet and very hot Monday. The restaurant was open to the street, so airy and the lady that served us was very friendly. Loved the food and will definitely go again

Gorgeous Japanese restaurant in London. Came here with friends and practically tried almost every dish and dessert on the menu! The food is so yummy and dishes arrived in a timely manner. Service was great and nothing was too much trouble. This was definitely a luxury treat, however couldn't recommend this place enough.

We visited on a tuesday evening and it was super busy the whole time we were there so it had a great atomsphere. I wanted to visit the shochu lounge downstairs as it has super nice decor but for some reason it was closed which was a shame. The four of us had the pre theatre menu which was nice to have a variety of sharing starters. The mains were also good however they were a bit stingy on the portions we had 2 bowls of rice to be shared between four. I think it would be nice to have had a bowl each seeing as rice is so cheap! It was nice to also have the option of adding vegetables on but this was steep at £9!! I highly enjoyed the ribs and the beef dumplings. The sashimi was also fresh. We also ordered 2 desserts- the bannoffee slice & sticky toffee pudding. The sticky toffee pudding sauce & sweet potato ice cream was nice and super unique! I found the actual sponge to be a bit dry so this could also be improved. The service was efficient however i did find a few times i had to ask multiple times for things. Overall a good experience but think the portions should be more generous for the amount you pay

I absolutely love this place. Shochu lounge is amazing to chill after a nice dinner in the restaurant. You can also dine in the lounge which I personally prefer anyway. I am gonna miss this place so much as I moved from London but highly recommend to anyone who loved sushi.

Food was not good at all, service was even worse as we kept asking for our order to be taken after sitting there for 30 minutes, food then took another 40 mins to come out but half was missing so we waited for another 30 mins without the rice and another dish we ordered to go with the meat eventually we just left hungry and £168 down. Worst experience. The worst part about it that it was not even that busy and we got no apology

We went for lunch last Friday and from the beginning to the end, Cristina and her team treated us wonderfully well, very friendly and attentive with very good suggestions. Each dish was a festival of flavors. The fish is very tasty, the meat is super tender and the vegetarian option is absolutely wonderful. We couldn't finish better with the chef's selection of desserts. 100% recommended for the quality of the food and the team. We'll go again for sure!

Food is great, atmosphere is enjoyable buzzy, service can be better. Maybe I had a guy on his off night, but it’s tough when waitstaff roll their eyes when you ask for more water (which is charged to the bill) and then don’t apologize for mistakes- like a dish that never made it to the table. Only to blank us as we left the building.

A literal rollercoaster. The restaurant's interior might fool you into thinking you've stumbled into a Pinterest board, all woodsy and charming. Save your money, cause what boyyyy, the menu is a journey to the land of overpriced mediocrity. (I'm pretty sure the other branches would better than this.) Chicken wings? Nope, not today. If you have the chicken skewers with spring onion, or as they like to call it, yakitori-negima yaki. I was handed a plate which, can only be described as the saddest excuse for chicken skewers. Two measly sticks, barely enough to whet the appetite of a mouse. It's like they threw in a handful of onions, a dash of spice, a dollop of sweetness, and burnt it all to a crisp in soy sauce. The rice is harder than a rock, and to add insult to injury, you've got a swarm of flies doing the backstroke in your meal. Oh, and the salmon? Dry as the Sahara. We were ready to cut the cake. Everyone joins in for the birthday chorus, candles are blown, and then comes the bombshell – a £7 charge per person to wield a knife and slice into the cake we've already paid for. 🔴A literal cake tax.🔴 You're not allowed to enjoy your own celebratory cake without shelling out more dough. Save yourself the headache, and if you plan on celebrating your birthday here, bring your own cake knife (or they probs won't let you if they see it) and a sense of humour, because this place takes bougie to a whole new level.

Excellent japanese restauraunt in Central London! Quite pricey but worth it! The dessert platter and wagyu sushi were both showstoppers!

The service was average but tired it in Riyadh Saudi Arabia the service was way better the food was blow my expectations as well the polls were not as fresh as it should be the tempura was oily and the shochu lounge had a step so watch out not to trip the funny thing the waiter tripped 3 times while serving is 😄

Had the premium Roka taster menu yesterday with my Fiancee. Great choice and quite worthwhile. Love the yellowing sashimi and the a4 wagyu- can't recommend enough, and the assorted variety of fresh sashimi available. Highly recommend the chu toro Tuna. I have to say the experience is expensive but is good but next time would rather go Sushi and sticks or somewhere else, but Roka is worth a visit. Great customer service also

My first visit here on the recommendation of my daughter who was with me. We chose the full tasting menu to get the benefit of what’s on offer and we’re not disappointed. Course after course came be all of which were a visual masterpiece and an assault on our tastebuds in a very good way. The delicious way in which flavours mixed surprising me at every different dish. Our thanks to all the staff who were very attentive and in particular, Artur, who was an absolute delight, well done .

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Roka, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding -our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The menu offers a fantastic variety of dishes, each one more tempting than the last. The cheesecake was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal—decadent and delicious without being overly sweet. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for exceptional food, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. I can’t wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings!

Always amazing food, but I feel the service and atmosphere have gotten worse over the last few years that I've been going.

First time at Roka Charlotte Street after a few years - the food is still very pleasant but the music (on a Friday night) is far too loud (impossible to have a proper conversation) and they really do their best to have you done within the 2 hour allocated timeslot (rushing the service and repeatedly mentioning we needed to be out by 21.00). This spoils a bit the experience...

We were a little disappointed by Roka this time. I guess we had high hopes after eating at the restaurant some years ago but there were some clear negatives this time. The restaurant on the ground floor is very tightly packed, so impersonal and quite noisy. It was hard not to listen in to the table next door when there is only 30-50 cm gap. This is exacerbated by tills being placed on the outside of the tables so staff are constantly coming through into the gaps. - The food is pretty decent overall, without being stellar and perhaps poor value for money. - The rolls were disappointing and felt ungenerous and ordinary. - The tempura prawns were fine - The sashimi I would say was put together very well and the best dish by far - Black cod had a slightly over fishy taste compared to my previous experience of the dish but good texture. At around £45 I would have perhaps expected better If you are feeling flush and fancy a quick dinner in the area then it is fine, but don't go expecting something wildly good or intimate if you are looking for a special dinner.

We went there for a lunch. It was such a lovely experience, the food was amazing, we also had the chance to try the 20th year anniversary selection, and the service from the staff was impeccable, especially Sema, she was so kind, knowledgeable and friendly!

We were seated downstairs in the swanky area that seemed more suited to a date night than I catch up with old friends. It was a bit dark for me and the seating is very low which isn’t good for old knees. The food was good when it came out and there were good gluten free options however the service let it down. The waiter was a bit condescending, when questioning missing dishes which we had previously asked about before , he advised us there was no such order. After a few mins discussion he made a big deal of telling us it had now been ordered implying it hadn’t been, and a few mins later the missing dishes all of a sudden turned up. This is the reason I marked it down because who likes to be told your a liar etc

A firm favourite!!! Food was gorgeous and well presented, a celebration to the palate. Perfect for a date or a group outing.

The service was absolutely horrible. It was my graduation, so I wanted to go somewhere nice. Our table was barely served, we were waiting for our food for an hour and the waiters were gaslighting us about it. Go either Zuma, dinings or Nobu.

Way overpriced for what you get. This is the typical restaurant where the level of pretentiousness of the envirornment comes second only to the level of snobbism of the waitresses. The food that, which is ultimately what you pay for, is vastly overrated. It is just barely above the Itsu or any other chain's level, but it comes ato a cost that is 2 to 4 times higher. tThey have a lot of jJapanese -sounding words ion the menu, but the price is way over the actual quality of the food you get. tThe 15% mandatory service charge is a legaliszed robbery if you consider that the waitress (at least ours) seems to be there to boost their ego, not to offer you a pleaseant experience.

During the spring break, my children and I took a five-day trip to London. My younger son loves sushi and insisted we go to the best sushi place in London. Roka lived up to expectations, I don't remember the last time I had such an excellent cuisine… wagyu sushi and wagyu steak was mind blowing!!The service was very good and they took great care of us. The lady understood that we were not local and advised us about the menu and gave us a recommendation for the starters to share. I really enjoyed how the service reacted to my 10 years old son, he was constantly complimenting the waitress about the sushi that at some point she ask him if would like to try some mocktail and she just ask him what fruit he likes. She ask the bar to prepare something special for my 2 boys. For me Roka is the best place in London… We will be back!!!!
