Great Nepalese in Camden

We have been this restaurant for our dinner and we ordered mutton Choyala which is we told Nepalese style but it was very very spicy and not taste on it. Chatpate also not tasty with as tooooo much masala no flavour no test , Thukpa (Soup) HOT was disgusting I think they was using frozen vegetable. It was smell green piece and no taste but rice and vegetables curry was is ok not very good, I just to say people please don’t waste your time and money here it is better to eat chicken and chips 🍟

Love this place. Been back lots of times for tasty food, great service. Good for group bookings - everyone loved the set menus.

An excellent and well-established Nepalese cuisine locale. They have been operating since 1982 and have the classic Nepalese dishes everyone knows (Momos) down pat. The lamb filled ones are the recommended ones and have a lovely spiced flavour, accompanied by an unctuous tomato sauce. Aside from the known, I decided to try their Nepali style vegetable biryani rice and their lamb khursani. The flavours are garlicky and explosive, such a treat, the spicy chilli sauce that accompanied the biryani was also excellent. The staff was attentive and the napkins were cloth, something that feels like a luxury lately. There are many other promising house specials to try, I will absolutely be coming back for more. Fully recommend.

We went for lunch as a group of 6 and had a great experience. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Some in our group aren't big fans of spicy food, but there were delicious options for everyone. The food was amazing. Loved it! 😊

(Evaluation six years ago) Nepalese curry is more suitable for Chinese appetites than Indian curry. The grilled meat is average but the curry lamb and curry mixed vegetables are excellent. I came here again six years later, and this time I did my homework so I only ordered various appetizers and no curry. Delicious, so delicious. The mutton soup stuffed buns and chicken braised noodles plus prawns wrapped in hot fried dough cakes were very enjoyable to eat. Highly recommended, but it’s best to know what you want in advance. In addition, the service and atmosphere are very good.

My experience here really opened my eyes to Nepalese food. I’m a curry man through and through, came here around 9pm on a weeknight with a large group- they accommodated us and served us promptly. I chose the Lamb Khursani with a Garlic Nan, it was really good - freshly cooked to order. The curry was surprisingly hot, very tasty indeed. I’ll certainly come back and try something else. Great service, but can be noisy with a big group (like ours, sorry!)

I am myself is Nepalese and have been to so many Nepalese restaurants in London and outside the London. So far this Nepalese restaurant serves the worst food and doesn’t have that Nepali taste and the portion size was really small Especially for Nepalese who want to eat authentic Nepali food I won’t recommend this place. It’s just not worth it.

The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, perfect for a date night, and it’s clear that this restaurant is more than just a business—it’s a labor of love. A specialist touch of the TV screens on the walls, showing the Nepalese rich cultural heritage and scenery transported us, it made us feel like we were there and was very inspiring. The staff here know how to look after you, make you feel welcome and provide excellent food and service in a great environment. What more could you ask for. So close to Euston station, too. This place is a hidden gem right outside of Euston Station. From the front, it doesn’t look like much, but once you enter it really opens up into a tranquil setting. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and the food is 10* best curry I have ever had.

This is the oldest continuously running Nepalese restaurant in London having been open for 44 years! The flavors of the food and the Momo's is authentic Nepali taste and leaves your pallet craving for more. I highly recommend it to all!

Great Nepalese food in Euston! There are similarities to Indian food but still has different flavours. I really liked the momos and lamb biryani. The meat was super tender and flavourful in the biryani. Mutton curry was my next fave too. Service was excellent and it came to £17.10 per person for 1 started and 3 mains. I’d say it was well worth it 💭

I have known this restaurant since it first opened in Euston and is my first choice to eat in the area. The spicing of Nepalese food is so subtly different to Indian and Bangladeshi food and if you have not tried it before here is the place to start. Staff always so helpful in recommending the Nepalese dishes to experience. This visit I was with a vegetarian friend and a great range of food to choose from.

It was so delicious that I went there two days in a row. The momos were delicious. Of course, the curry and other dishes were also delicious. The staff at the store were very courteous and served my customers very well, which gave me good memories of London.

A go to place if you want Nepalese food in Central London

It was getting late at night and I was looking for a restaurant when I found this restaurant. On the first day, we ordered the set menu. It was so delicious and the staff was so kind that I visited there two days in a row. On the second day, we had single dishes such as momos 😆 I ate peaches for the first time in my life at this restaurant. It was so delicious and the staff was so kind that I couldn't help but take a picture with it. If I have a chance to go to England again, I would like to go there again.

The staff were helpful and attentive but sadly we found the food lacking in taste. Naan bread, prawn puri, lamb passanda, sag aloo and butter chicken all seemed rather bland. It was a popular restaurant and almost full on a Monday night.

I was at the London for vacation and I was craving for my Nepali food so I couldn't find any good places though and I search and I found this one ....you should....sorry you must try there for Nepali cuisine.....feel like I am having the taste from my country....everyone should try....:-)

It is not Great Nepalese it's big Threat, I was staying in property adjoining to this hotel owned by same owner. One we had a meal at this place but while going in my room I saw chefs from this hotel smoking outside. Their attire, look was very much dirty and looking at them one can understand that they are not following basic hygiene policies. And you cannot expect quality of food from a person who himself not keeping him clean. This is a big threat to your health at your own cost. So friends be aware while visiting next time. I also want you to alert on staying facility provided from this family, as if you are planning to recommend to your family or friends you should know the facts. This place is located at prime location but it's very unsafe to stay. The entrance itself is kept narrow and still narrows by an electric panel which I think has electric controls of restaurant his family owns just beside main entrance. Its a two story structure, ground floor 1 room, first floor 2 rooms plus kitchen plus two bathrooms and second floor 3 rooms. The room panels are made of wood and even flooring is made of wooden planks. You can easily gets disturbed if a guy sleeping adjoining room is snoring or they are having conversation in normal voice or even someone above your room is walking. It's really disturbing if someone is checking out early morning and moving bags and walking. Lot of movement happens as there are only two bathrooms/ toilets for 5 rooms ( 2 on first floor plus 3 on second floor). The steps are made of wood and narrow with width of 18 inches and that two in spiral shape. The structure has no lift, So moving out or going up is big challenge with your luggage. It is a big threat in case of fire to evacuate in such condition as if you manage to come down from death steps there is big challenge of narrow passage with electric panels. The adjoining Hotel is also a big threat for fire. Overall its definitely is an illegal construction made to extract money to take advantage of central location keeping guests life on a big threat. I am writing this review to alert future guests and also going to report this to regulating authorities in London. I humbly request past guests to comment on this and should confirm my observations. Request future guests not to put their lives in danger for sake of saving money. There are lots of safe options available in same area. Look at there reply to all negative reviews, same reply that , all the plates were empty and you have finished all the stuff.....blah blah blah. Owner please keep it in mind that people are not fool, they can easily understand from your reply who is liar and that you. Big liar, it displays your fraud identity. Shame on you

Had a really nice email here. The food was served banquet style so lots to chose from. I tend to prefer a little spicier than this but tasty. Since it was a group probably hotter options not served. Staff very friendly. I would definitely come. Inside basic decor but clean.

This is one the best places I had Nepali food in recent times. I loved that they opted to keep many traditional names of dishes as well as not change the flavors. Often Nepali restaurants use mild flavors to cater mass public, which just makes food bland. The setup was nice and atmosphere felt good. I would have given one more star if the Nepali owner/person at front had at least said hello to Nepali guests.

Food wasn’t the best since comparing it to Indian or Pakistani cuisine. But you won’t do anything wrong by coming here. The roti 🫓 was a little dry and the shrimp platter rather mediocre. Butter chicken was good.

Place had a mouse in the kitchen. Buzz didn't do anything. Disgusting.

Great food and super friendly service!

The momo starter took over half an hour to arrive and was uncooked. It tasted of dough and had been microwaved. The second course took ages and in the end never arrived. One of us went up to the counter to ask why it was so late, to which we got a garbled answer with no apology. On top of this, they took offence and all three waiters suddenly turned round and told us to leave. So not recommended at all. They are a bunch of rude lads. Don't go here and if you do, don't get the momo. Apart from being uncooked it comes with a ridiculous tomato sauce anyway, which is not at all authentic. The Nepali identity is a complete sham as the waiters are not Nepali and neither is the food.

Really really good food. The three of us all loved our main courses. The food can be on the hot side that I loved but just be aware. Very friendly and efficient staff and a nice relaxing ambiance.

Delicious food by a Nepalese family, in an intimate setting. We were surrounded by photos of Nepal and its people, and it had a cosy ambience, with dark wood furniture, exposed brick walls and comfortable cushions. We had tasty, freshly made lamb and chicken momos in a creamy, piquant tomato-based sauce, and a medium-sized mutton choyala with rich, savoury flavours. Our lovely waiter, Suraj, was warm, welcoming, and just the right level of attentive. He gave us useful food recommendations and also brought complimentary poppadoms over, with dips - a perfect complement to our scrumptious lunch. All in all, a delightful experience.

The service by Suraj was impeccable! We’ve had such delicious Momos and would highly recommend this place for someone digging for Nepalese. Great location beside Euston Station as well.

It was a real shame this place pre loaded the bill with service charges. Most decent places leave that at your discretion.

This is a lovely little restaurant and a stones throw from Euston railway station. I have been here several times and I make the attempt to dine here whenever I am in London. It is busy restaurant but not overpowering in noise or banter from other diners. The food at this restaurant is perfection. That’s is all I can say about it, you need to visit this place.

I would be pleased to recommend this restaurant. We had a tight schedule of meeting relatives in London and Bas sensibly suggested pre ordering to maximise chit chat time! Service and atmosphere are great in this restaurant. Tried Nepali set which didn’t taste very authentic Nepali. Alu tama ( potato- bambooshoot curry) is no where near to actual Alu-tama taste ( so disappointed). Veg momo didnt taste great.. the fillings of veg momo was customised to foreign likings, therefore it tasted like boiled Samosa.

Very nice dinner experience here. Good Nepalese food - we ordered the set meal for one which comes with a variety of dishes to try including spicy veg momo, black dal, sag, mutton curry, potato curry with bamboo shoots, a spicy potato pickle and steamed rice. We also got a nariwal dhaniya to try which was a sweet coconut-based prawn curry with lots of coriander. All authentic Nepalese recipes and flavours which were all really enjoyable, and the lassi washed them down nicely. Highlight was the momo. Also staff were very friendly and took time to explain all the dishes. Five stars!

The portions were very small, even by today's shrinkflation standards. The rice portion was only enough for a child and the rasmali pudding was tiny and not worth the £4 price. The food itself was not inspiring. Very disappointing. I shall not be going again.

Avalanche of Errors! Having eaten here several times before, when visiting London, we confidently turned up for a table for 3. I can only guess that their chefs have all left and have been replaced by ...well, certainly not chefs. The 3 chicken dishes had to be returned due to incredible over salting. Literally inedible. They clearly just spooned out the meat, attempted a colorful looking sauce, and then re-plated, with half eaten Naan to boot! I KNOW the owner KNEW it was well below standard but we ate a little, and called it quits. He SHOULD of taken those dishes off our £114 pounf bill, which is an EXPENSIVE curry, though thst is not what we tried to eat. Such a shame as they have a good history. NEVER AGAIN! RIP as Competition in these times is a plenty.

Very nice staff, on the phone and in person. Service is fast. We shared 4 or 5 dishes, and they were all very similar and tasted pretty much the same. I found it odd that they covered the momo in sauce rather than allowing the customer to dip. The momo sauce was delicious though.

The food was tasty. This place deserves a good rating. I would be happy to return. We had momos, lasaan and lentils with both rice and naan. Lamb tased fresh. Thank you for not using food colouring.

The resultant is in a good location and is always spotlessly clean. Always great food, service with a smile & speedy service if you have a train to catch. Highly recommended.

Very good food, spicy without being strong, fast and pleasant service

After three visits, all great food and good service, this is pretty much my go-to for meeting up for a meal in central London.

My favorite is Momo. The main dishes are decent however the nans were not impressive. I would expect better nans to go with the dishes.

Delicious! Great atmosphere and friendly, attentive (but not overly so) staff. We went here as we couldn’t get in at Roti King round the corner and we really lucked out!! We subsequently went to Roti King in Waterloo the following night, and I can’t imagine why it is rated above this place in the “Best Places to Eat in Camden” category. Great Nepalese is exactly what it says it is. YUM.

The price per person was worth it. I was in a group of five. We did not have a reservation but didn't wait too long to be seated. The menu was extensive. We ordered beers, starters, each a main dish and naan and rice. It was awesome. Each dish had distinct tastes. Serving sizes were decent. Quality of curries were high. Good service. If I go back I'd have much less and on average the price per person would likely be 20 to 30 pounds.

A really decent experience here. I went here with my gf yesterday for lunch as it was our 9th month and we both really liked Nepalese food. There aren't many Nepalese restaurants which open during lunch hours. We ordered a set menu for 2, which included a starter, main, and dessert. We also ordered 4 pieces of lamb momo in addition to that. The food was indeed great Nepalese food. They were all packed with maximum flavour. The sauce for the momo was slightly spicy and their momo was so good. We bother liked the lamb curry (lamb bhutuwa, in the main) and the momo the most. The set menu alone is already enough to make 2 people full. The service was great. Plates are being taken away and food was served just on time. There were also photos on the wall featuring Nepal and the members of this family-owned business. Liked everything.

The quality of the lamb and chicken was above averagely good and I loved the use of fresh ingredients and flavours very much, especially the ginger and everything all round, BUT, the portions were only half filled and the food was EXTREMELY OILY, with bad oil, so much so, that about half of the food could not be eaten. This Really Was Such A Shame, Because Otherwise I Would Have Wanted To Rate This Restaurant With 5 stars. I Was So Very Disappointed and The Price Should Have Matched The Experien

OMG, I used to come here alot in the 90s and have been perhaps a couple of times a year since until COVID but not since. I was remembered which is a great start to the evening. Our meal was absolutely fantastic. Clean flavours, depth of flavour and just the right amount of spice. I have always rated this restaurant highly and so nice that after all this time it is still going, still as good if not better. This time I introduced my daughter and I know she will be back again too. Thank you.
