Rocos Italian Takeaway in York

We went to collect our order from Roccos the place is very clean and tidy the food is cooked fresh I had Quattro Stagioni pizza which is very tasty my husband enjoyed his Pollo Al Peppe will definitely recommend and we will order again.

I have no Idea how you make your food like this but it’s delicious and the best food from a takeaway restaurant I’ve ever had. The products taste fresh and real unlike any other restaurant I’ve ever been to. Very friendly people and amazing chefs. Incredible.

Wow, wow wow. Best pizza I've ever eaten. The pizza was delivered, still volcanic hot. 💯 delicious on both counts. If you like PROPER stringy cheese on your pizza. This is the place to come. The meat feast, didn't disappoint, some very tasty sausage combined with generous sized chicken slices 😋 👌 👍👍 Chicken and sweetcorn pizza , not on the menu, but was made for us with no issues. Roccos take a bow. You're now top of our list for pizza takeaway meals. You've now got a very happy new customer 😊😊👍👍

Only just heard about this place, and was so excited to learn the chef is from Luigi’s which closed a while back. I always used to order farfalle salmone there, so chose it here. Hubby and son went for pizzas. We all loved it. My portion of pasta was huge and came with some lovely Italian bread and a pot of Parmesan. I’m looking forward to finishing it tomorrow, just had to give up tonight. I actually think it might be even better than I’ve had before. The pizzas went down a storm too. Rocco’s has gone straight to number one in our takeaway charts. ❤️

Excellent to have a “proper” Italian takeaway back in york. First time to order and food was Restaurant quality couldn’t fault a thing. Will be back!!!

I had a lovely meal from this takeaway The Pollo Aglio was delicious. It is not your ordinary takeaway but Restaurant food done to perfection. The Chef and family run this business the service is very good and they are always very friendly, This is definitely a Hidden Gem of a place.😋😋

Telephoned an order through for 6 people which was ready for us to pick up in around 25 minutes. The food was delicious- so well prepared and full of flavour. Still piping hot when we got home with it. Pastas, pizzas and calzones, everyone loved their meals and at such amazing value Rocco’s will now be our takeaway of choice.

This is a great little hidden gem! Previously, the venue was a very poor caribbean. The decor/signage suggested an average pizza place. However, when a friend said they'd heard it was great and that it was a child and/or chef from Luigis in Poppleton, we had to try it. They don't seem to be on standard delivery apps. However, don't let that put you off. Their menus can be found on their Facebook page or just my googling. I called and ordered over the phone. They sent a text to my mobile to make a card payment, which felt more secure than reading out card numbers over the phone. The food turned up piping hot. Whilst the pizza was average, the pasta dishes were delicious! The lasagna is especially beautiful, has an early rich and beefy flavor, and comes with slices of morish bread. Carbonara was really creamy and tasty, as was the garlic pizza bread. Highly recommend it!

AMAZING Pizza! Ashamed we haven't called here before as it's just around the corner. Fantastic service, super fast and the prices are really good. Ordered an 11" ham & mushroom pizza and we both thought it was probably the best pizza we ever had - in fact we didn't want it to end it was so good. Highly recommend, this is a total gem of a restaurant and we will be working our way through the menu every week!

Too tired to cook for myself so popped in to try this new pizza place . Really happy I did . Staff couldn't be more helpful, and they had no problem customising my pizza .Place was spotless and minimal waiting time even though busy .Food was delicious authentic tasting and fresh .Not cooking again over the weekend , God help my waist line now lve found this gem .

I visited Roccos on a Friday evening for pizza and chips. The shop is beautifully presented with Italian themed decor and is clean and fresh. The pizza was delicious and was a true taste of Italy on poppleton road. The staff are very friendly. I only waited for 15 mins for my order and was able to sit in the stylish waiting area while I wait. I am looking forward to trying the pasta on the menu in the future. Would recommend and great value for money, £20.50 for 2 pizzas and 1 portion of chips.

My Husband & I called into the new resteraunt to grab a couple of pizzas. The place was spotless and beautifully decorated with hints of Italy everywhere. The food smells were wonderful as we were greeted by a lovely lady who took our order and explained the menu. We didn't have to wait long for our food and decided to eat it in the car. I don't think words alone can describe just how good my pizza was. The dough was hand made (apparently it is made fresh daily on site) and really does make a difference. No dips were needed for the crust, it was delightful to eat as it was. The base was thin and crispy and topped with just the right amount of tomato sauce. I opted for a ham & mushroom pizza where as hubby had a plain chicken. The mushrooms were thinly sliced so there was no soggy residue, but there where plenty of them and the flavours seeped through complimenting the prosciutto ham. Fresh not dried herbs were scattered on the top too. I tasted the basil immediately and fell in love with Roccos. I ordered a portion of chips to share and it was a decent size. They were crispy on the outside but fluffy in the middle and beautifully seasoned. What can I say, the food was takeout but was most definitely resteraunt quality. This was indeed the BEST pizza I have ever had the pleasure to eat from either a takeaway or a resteraunt. We will most certainly be going back. Thank you. Two pizzas and a portion of chips came to £22 and was worth every penny!!
