This restaurant is amazing, very friendly staff and the best pizza I have had in the uk. The restaurant was very busy as it was Saturday evening so make sure you book. The waiting time for our pizza was no more than 10 minutes. Oh and the Italian beer was also excellent, I had Adelaide APA.

Really enjoyed our meal here. The pizzas were all freshly made with a good selection of choice on both the menu and the additional specials board including a big selection for vegetarians. The server looking after us was very friendly. The pizzas were also very well priced between £10 and £13 each. We will definitely be going back.

One of the best and most authentic pizzas I've ever tried. We were just visiting York for a few days, found this gem via Google Maps, and boy the reviews weren't wrong. It's amazing. The food, the hospitality and the atmosphere were fantastic. You must book ahead as it's super popular. Please support this little independent as they're fantastic. Very reasonable prices too. Elena, our waitress was very friendly and welcoming.

What a wonderful little pizza place! When we're out and about we do try to support independent business where we can and this little gem is definitely worth a visit. We were lucky enough to nab a table after wandering in and asking if they had a table for later in the evening. It is very popular so booking is very much recommended. There is seating upstairs but be prepared to wait if you haven't planned ahead! It is only a small menu, though there are specials that you can also try; however I tend to think that those that have smaller menus are usually better quality, which is very much the case here. We tried the alleanza (a 'white' pizza meaning no tomato sauce, we thought that meant the bread flour 😂) and the spicy calabrese. You could tell that the dough was freshly made and the balance of flavours (more subtle in the alleanza, but still delicious) was beautiful. The calabrese was quite spicy but was our favourite by a very small margin! They're not the sort of pizza you could pick up with your hands (so forget anything resembling the chain pizza places) without having issues, but to be honest it's nice to be a bit fancy sometimes! We would especially recommend having some dessert if you're not too full. The cannoli and rum Baba were quite light and you could again tell that they're freshly made (the owner confirmed that they're made in house). The staff were lovely and friendly, shout out to Elena for sorting us the table, and were very attentive without being bothersome.

One of the magic 8 pizza restaurants validated by the Neopolitan Committee in the UK, this pizza 🍕 smashed it for me. Starter of the deep fried pasta in batter classic style, the ham and peas combo was perfect. On the pizza, first thing was the dough to try always. Very good indeed and worked well in their wood fired oven. Bottom could have been a tad crispier. That said, the tomatoes on the pizza were truly sensational. Packed with incredible flavour. Cheese was nicely done too. Service and cleanliness of course super-high standard. Place was very busy and booking a table advised. Definitely the best pizza I've had in York and judging by the reviews this is the spot. UK wise, Napoli on the Road remains best I've had outside Italy 🇮🇹, although the Grosvenor Arms in Shaftesbury has a spot in my heart ❤️. Thanks for a top meal here and one definitely I would return to. 😋

Am in York for three days. First night checked in late evening at the Novotel and was looking for a quick bite. Really lovely pizzeria and it was packed on a Tuesday evening! Alina kindly made a table available and the pizza was really delicious. The beer selection they have is wide and a different from the usual Italian beers. I had the Birra Flea IPA which went perfectly with my spicy pizza. Mind you it is a little strong at 6.6%. Do go there you won’t regret it. Also pre book as they were continuously busy whilst I was there.

True Neapolitan pizzeria. Perfect pizza dough with excellent leavening, pizza with a light but strong flavour. Excellent cooking in the wood oven. Really good dough and brilliant service, first time having white based pizza, Flora( intrigued by the fried aubergine but the aubergines were in small pieces) but it’s less creamy than I thought it would be, just felt like a cheese pizza.

Delicious pizza at a reasonable price. Although not able to seat us inside without a booking, the server was very friendly and patient with our 8 person order. Then we were told when it would be ready and we went away and came back.

Great food, great staff and great service. The staff were incredibly polite and couldn't be more accommodating or friendly. The food was amazing and I enjoyed every mouthful. The chef came to speak to us and explained the history of one of the pizza's which was a really nice touch (it was a daily special).Will absolutely be going back and if you are in the area I definitely recommend you pay a visit.

Amazing authentic Italian pizzas. They have very special collection of Italian beers to go along. Very casual friendly atmosphere. If there were to be a war between Yorkshire ales and Italian beers, Cresci must lead the other side!

Really good, authentic Italian, great friendly service and the price is great too. Not much more you could ask for I ended up ordering 2 pizzas oops.

Wonderful, authentic, pizza place. Served directly by the owners of the shop and they were lovely. Pizza was superb and I don’t think you can create a better pizza. Wish we stayed longer in York just to eat here again!

If you want to eat a pizza and be convinced that you are on the seafront in Naples you absolutely have to eat it here! I'm Italian and I felt at home for one evening in this pizzeria. Absolutely recommended.

Could not recommend this pizza place any more. Best pizza I’ve ever had in York and possibly the UK, the crust was amazing, the sauce was incredible, toppings were tasty. Service was good and the staff were very nice, good location central to York and the best Italian i’ve had there. Arancini was also really tasty and the prices in general were good value.

WOW, 1st of all, we walked into a very busy restaurant without booking a table yet we were greated with a smile and were seated within 5 minutes, I then asked how long service would be due to having an hour till we were due on a River boat cruise, within 5 minutes the main chef came to our table and assured us we would be served with plenty of time to enjoy our pizza and make our cruise!! WOW, this is an amazing intimate restaurant with excellent service and a beautiful pizza better than we tasted in Rome!! If you go to York you need to go to Cresci!! Excellent chef, excellent staff, excellent service!!

I had a great time here! Visiting from London with my girl and they’re were very welcoming and helpful. The owner was in the back making pizzas and he is great. I spoke to him in napolitan and had a great conversation, he knows everything there is to know about his craft. I will be coming back here next time I’m in York, as it’s genuinely one of the best pizzas I’ve had in England.(trust me I’ve had many!!!)

We got takeout from Cresci late on a miserable rainy Saturday night during a long weekend visit up to York. It was fantastic! Even after a ten minute walk back to our accommodation, they were exceptionally tasty and well worth a visit.

Service was great. Greeted at the entrance with a warm welcome by one of the chefs and treated very well by my hostess. Took time to explain the menu. Was expecting good food but the food was superb. Would highly recommend when visiting York!

I been second time at Cresci when visited York, in my opinion it is the best Italian pizzeria in town. Fully authentic, with fabulous service, amazing pizza oven and busy vibe. I mean very busy and that's means it's a great food!to be sure you will have table for weekend-give them a call, lovely team will try accommodate everyone but please treat them with kindness and respect what they deserve -they working extremely fast and hard to please all guests! We ordered vegetarian pizzas on white base , both been at thin lovely dough, melting inside mouth. Prices are very reasonable, don't forget to tip staff! Grazie mile!Ciao 💗

I never write reviews but this place deserves one. Been here for the first time in February for valentines and try to stop by for a pizza as often as possible since. The pizza is amazing and one of the best I’ve ever had. There is really not much to add to that. The tomato sauce is out of this world and the dough is just perfect as well. I travel a lot between Germany and York, and whenever I am here, a visit here is a must. I am just a student, so it’s amazing that the pizzas are actually affordable for me (8£ in 2024 is just great!). Also, if you like coffee, definitely get an espresso here, it’s very good as well. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Amazing, authentic pizza with fantastic Italian beers and a lovely full bodied wine. Loved it so much that daughter has decided to study here and as parents we will be visiting, OFTEN!!

Delicious high quality pizza, friendly service and a great list of unusual beers. I'd suggest booking ahead as we saw a few folk being turned away, and that was on a midweek in March.

This great value pizza restarant gets very busy so I would advise booking. The starter was pasta with ham and beshamel sauce booked in a light tempura batter. I was a little hesitant when orrdering but it was delicious with the batter adding texture to the dish. Good sized tasty pizza for the main and a Rum baba for desert. Washed down with a glass of red wine the bill only came to £27. A very good deal.

We are visiting York and were looking for an early dinner before going out. Having worked in northern Italy, the idea of an authentic pizza appealed. This was southern Italian based but didn't disappoint in any way. The special pizza was delicious and the portions just right. We didn't need dessert but couldn't resist the cannolo, which was perfect, sweet but not too sweet and the perfect end to the meal.

I came here for a solo date night and loved the food, service, and atmosphere! The Bufala and Cannolo was INCREDIBLE! The waitress provided great recommendations and was very, very personable. Would definitely come back!

Christina was a lovely waitress. The food was fantastic so much so we ate here two nights in a row. All off the waitresses were fantastic Christina stuck out to us as she was our server the second evening and we have never been so well looked after. Would return to York just for the pizza. The atmosphere upstairs is lovely and the location is ideal. We didn’t book either night and they found tables for us. Would highly recommended and we will be returning again next time we come!

Was so looking forward to our 2nd visit. My husband really enjoyed his pizza but unfortunately my pizza (gluten free) was cold and not very well cooked. It was also very busy and very noisy.

Wonderful place to eat, Pizza's were great! The staff were lovely. We didn't have a reservation but they fitted us in ( 4 adults 2 children) children loved the Pizza's. Cheered up a rainy day xxx

Fantastic Food and exceptional service! Reserved a table for Saturday afternoon, firstly the service is second to none, a young and friendly team on duty and very professional and attentive. The food was amazing too, a proper pizza with a good choice too, the cannon and tiramisu was amazing! Definitely 10 out of 10 for fab service and great food

My partner and I came here during a trip as they found it online while looking for places to eat, just thinking it would be a nice enough pizza place. Upon going in there was such a warm welcome and the interior was really charming, we ordered the Diavolo and the Margarita Special, both pizzas were amazing. They were filling but not heavy, also not greasy, amazing flavour that we kept bringing up the walk back to the hotel. The service was professional, kind and efficient but at no point did we ever feel rushed, our food was ready maybe 10-15 minutes from ordering, alongside this amazing service and staff, the prices were more than reasonable for the amount and quality of food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits York, be it for Lunch or Tea.

Horrible experience.. We made a dinner reservation (2 people) for 20:30 but when we came in we were told they ran out of dough so we could only have 1 pizza to share. We had to order extra starters to have a meal, but the choice was limited. Pizza was small and thin, which would not have been an issue if we could've ordered 2 more. We left with an empty stomach but a full bill (out of "curtesy" they took 1 of the starters off). Never again for us. We understand that you can run out of stuff. But not dough in a restaurant that only serves pizza! They have a delivery service as well, just close that if you know you still have reservations coming in. We would've appreciated a call in advance so we could've found something else. We had to order a dominos after cause a lot of restaurant kitchens were closed...

What a nice friendly place one of the best pizza I have had and cheaper than other well known brands only complaint a lack of desserts.

Cresci is the ultimate pizzeria. The friendly welcome, amazing service, informative staff and friendly decor are amazing side dishes to the main event, the quality of food. Any restaurant that has only three starters has confidence in their appeal. And they’re right to do so....

Lovely very Italian tasting food, would recommend a visit. Star of the show was the Frittatina, highly recommended though the starters would have benefited from some garnish like a salad. Day trip to York and the small decided on pizza for tea so naturally looked up the best places to eat and Cresci came up. The food did not disappoint it was very tasty and the flavours were amazing. Only points were the calzone had caught a little and I think any longer in the oven it would have had to go back, but cutting off the edge saved it. Also they initially tried to charge sandy's as a pint plus mixer, however sorted this quickly once we questioned it on the bill. Staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great, would definitely come back for another meal.
