I’m studying here in York, and finding Cresci was an amazing discovery. The pizza is genuinely good—coming from a Neapolitan family, I can confirm it’s the real deal! The pizza here reminded me of home. Prices are surprisingly affordable for Yorkshire, and the staff is super friendly too. If you’re after authentic pizza and a great vibe, Cresci is definitely worth a visit!

Emailed in advance as one of our group is unable to eat gluten. Received a reply that this wouldn't be a problem. It wasn't until we were sat at our table and the order was placed that they decided to change their mind and inform us that they were not willing to serve the gluten free pizza, despite it being an option on the menu. This left one of our group with no food. I suspect the kitchen staff were feeling lazy and simply couldn't be bothered.

OMG! Pizza for me is like a religion, I'm obsessed with it. So saying that what I'm about to say is going some. This was the best pizza I've ever had and seriously think it may be the best I'll ever have. The quality of the food here is second to none and I will keep going back. Nothing more I can say other than even if you're not as crazy about pizza as I am, but are crazy about amazing quality food.....GO HERE! They have a great selection of pizzas, starters, wine etc and you can customise your request too. Enough said.

The best tiramisu I've had in Yorkshire. The pizza was great as well. Its a great place to chill out relax and enjoy the food and have a nice time.

So glad we found this little gem It’s much bigger than it looks, there is plenty of seating upstairs Pizzas were very good, all freshly prepared and you can see them cooking They only had pizza on the menu so they should be experts and they are, the star for me was the tiramisu, it’s not on the menu but if you ask you might be lucky, it was delicious Really reasonable prices too

An incredible experience dining at Cresci Pizzeria. My best friend and I had travelled down to York for a day trip and were on a time crunch and even without a reservation, we were taken such great care of. We were served by Christina, who was an angel and was so attentive to our dietary requirements. I eat Halal and wasn’t expecting there to be an option but she immediately picked up on that and offered halal options in Pizza and Tiramisu. The food itself was also incredible, quick service and great quality. The atmosphere was great, with people from all ages enjoying their time, having great food. It was a beautiful end to a lovely trip.

I definitely will need to come back here when I’m in York because this was by far, one of the best pizza restaurants I’ve ever been to. Service was amazing, all staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Pizza was incredible!!

Absolutely fantastic pizza, with lovely bases, good cheese, great tomato and a well balanced set of topics across both Diavola and Margherita. The gluten-free base was also easily the best gluten-free base I've had, so I'm really pleased to have access to good pizza again. Highly recommended.

Absolutely worth the hype. The pizza is truly delicious, with the tomato base being the star of the show. The staff are very friendly and considerate, Christina especially is lovely. One of my favourite lunch spots for quality and value for money!

Absolutely gorgeous food and service and so reasonable in cost. Starters are divine, getting one of each and sharing. The mains we have was so lovely we much preferred the tomato base however it was nice to try the white sauce pizza Desserts we wasn’t a fan of the cake a bit to strong with the rum but the tiramisu was incredible, I personally don’t like tiramisu but this was amazing and on another level definitely worth a visit

No nonsense. They do classic Italian pizza as well as it can possibly be done with authentic ingredients that are the real deal. Swift friendly service and a nice beer on tap. Book to avoid disappointment.... It's busy because it's so good. The Napolitan fennel sausage with Porcini was even better than you'd hope.👌🏻

Well, another successful visit, that Brilliant pancake almost tasting base of an authentic Italian pizza. ❤️ We have had Deliveroo twice, but there’s nothing to compare with a visit . Such helpful, attentive staff, particularly the young chap for Acomb . Today’s visit was a birthday treat and worth every penny.

Amazing service & delicious pizza and desserts 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Went there today (reserved a table at 6pm) for my birthday with my husband and our 3-year old and every staff member wished me a happy birthday 🥳 The service was incredible, staff was nice, attentive and they all have lovely singing voices ;) My 3 year old ate almost an entire pizza by herself which by her standards is like the highest compliment to the chef 👨‍🍳 ❤️🫶🏻

This was my first visit to Cresci but it won't my last - the pizza was delicious and for once the crust of the pizza was also delicious and I didn't leave it...like I usually do. There were four of us and we each had a different pizza and everyone said theirs was great. It's a busy restaurant with a good atmosphere and all the staff members we spoke too were so friendly and nice. You can get a take away from them too so I will be able to enjoy their pizza at home. There really isn't anything to say other than positive comments apart from that they didn't provide any non dairy milk for coffee - this could be easily rectified and would be an extra tick for vegans.

I would say that Cresci is a piece of Italy placed in the middle of the city of York, I have no doubts. I don't know whether to start from the warm and elegant welcome of the staff (the waitress Elena was perfect), from the warmth of the environment of the restaurant, from the quality of the typical Italian products and the imported wines (the sausage with fennel is commendable, not easy to find outside Italy and the choice of the 'Produttori di Manduria' winery) or simply by the goodness of the pizza. It is a true Neapolitan pizza leavened perfectly with quality dough and excellent choice flours. My favorite remains the margherita with sausage, it is not excessive and allows you to savor the flavors without covering them too much. I think it's the best Italian pizza I've tasted in the UK. Well done. Top quality oven, essential for good cooking. The fried bucatini with cheese and pepper is also very good. Excellent Italian beers, I always recommend the Peroni Gran Riserva Rossa, my favourite. Typical Italian desserts to absolutely try, including Tiramisu and cannoli with sheep's ricotta. Very good. For a pizza in York I don't think there are alternatives to Cresci. Congratulations to Bernardo who manages the place.

First, this casual dining restaurant was exceptionally busy and I highly recommend booking because there's a good reason for it being so popular. Yes, the pizza is that good! We were warmly welcomed and managed to get a table as a walk in but we were lucky. I wouldn't chance it again. Cresci serve traditional Italian pizza. You won't get a Hawaiian or stuffed crust here. The menu is mainly pizza, with some croquette potatoes and Cannoli on the menu. There's also wine, soft drinks, beer. Our pizza was truly excellent! The dough tastes very fresh. As a bread baker; I also make sourdough, I was really impressed by their pizza dough. With the fresh tasting dough and fresh good quality toppings, cooked to order, I couldn't have been more impressed. The value is excellent! Simply put, if you want a simply excellent pizza, this is the place to go in York!

After days of eating English food, a real Italian pizza is just what we needed! Excellent ingredients, perfectly cooked, all seasoned with a refined and informal welcome. We truly felt at home! Ps Even the cannoli is a real delight… Absolutely RECOMMENDED 👏🏻

We had a super dinner at Cresci. Warm greet8ng on arrival and then shown to the 1st floor dining room. We ordered the Italian dark beer which had a distinctive taste and was pretty good. Our starters were large arancini balls followed by Nduja and Diavola pizzas , both were off the scale delicious and prepared in the Neoplitian style which is the best way. Canolo for desert and that was us done , full and happy 😊 Our waitresses were really nice and the owner spent some time chatting with us, which was nice. The decor is modern and there was a pleasant atmosphere and pretty busy for a Wednesday night. We will certainly dine here again and I recommend that you do too. Veramente magnifico 👏👏

Best pizza in York may I say 😂🤷‍♀️! I went here with my husband after a long week, wanting to relax and feast on a delectable meal. Shall I say Cresci didn’t disappoint ! The aroma of the place instantly hit me as I walk through the doors. What stood before me was a mix of beauty and Italian culture ! The man who served me , a strong dark haired fellow helped me pick the perfect pizza ! I chose a margarita pizza , without cheese as it upsets my stomach, the tangy tomato danced on my tongue like it was fighting a battle with the fresh Italian herbs ! The dough, crispy and fresh made my eyes roll back as I took the first bite ! My husband tucked into a meat feast pizza which on quote said “it’s a decent pizza “. He thought it was marvellous ! Would recommend

Best pizza you can get in York (and it's not that obvious, there are many good ones). To be honest, one of the best pizzas I ever had, which should carry some weight considering I'm from Italy. Great service too - Armando, Elena and the team know their business and really care about their customers. Recommended, we moved out of your and still use Cresci as a benchmark for pizzerias.

One of the best pizza places I've visited in any country! The dough is next level. We were well looked after and the price was very reasonable for the quality, especially given that it's in central York. If you want to sit in, it's worth booking in advance because the place is small and gets busy quickly. And definitely nab the tiramisu if you can get it - it was delicious. I will definitely be returning.

We were so thankful that the staff accommodated a group of 10 late in the evening! Service staff were friendly and attentive from the beginning, and we felt very well looked after. The food was ethereal, from the ragu arancinis to the eclectic selection of pizzas. I had a whole pizza and finished off another half of friend’s as it was just so delicious! The staff looked like they were happy to be there and it felt like I was dining with old friends. I would definitely come back here again on my next trip to York
