Great little cafe. Genuinely one of the best panini I have ever eaten.

Lovely little cafe with great ice cream and cakes. Very friendly and welcoming staff. We were in York for 4 days and came here 3 times!

We came in for a morning coffee and cannoli. It was a really sunny day and we felt like we were in an authentic Italian kitchen! Delicious cannolis, piped with ricotta cream cheese. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The evening and lunch menu also sounded very nice. There was no decaffeinated tea option which was a little bit annoying but this can be easy fixed!

Latte and a pistachio cheesecake n connolo, loved all three. Lovely crowd, nice atmosphere , one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time.

Was told it was closed when we arrived at 7pm and it says it closes at 9pm online. Fair enough if you are closed but you should update your systems to prevent customers traveling to your place of business when you are closed.

Craving something sweet. It's 19:50 on a Friday. The say they're open - They're closed. Don't want the business I guess? Sad.

I absolutely adore this little cafe. Authentic Italian food made by wonderful staff, the biggest issue is nabbing a table in here! I've loved everything I've eaten here and been back multiple times. Highly recommend!

The pizza was very nice, it was a lovely focaccia base - very cheap and delicious. The ice cream was also lovely! The staff were nice. The hot chocolate was not good, this let down the experience. It was thick but not very chocolatey and tastes like the amorino hot chocolate which I don’t really like, it’s almost too thick, like custard and has a “skin” like texture. The rest of the food was very good though and the staff were brilliant so I will return and would recommend still overall. Some others might like the hot chocolate but it wasn’t for me

Discovered this amazing place , I am Italian even in Italy you must know were to go to have Caffè and pizza of this quality, was just super duper yummy the pizza and Caffè I ll defiantly will be regular here Salvatore

Excellent! Popped in for lunch today and I’m glad I finally visited. I had their “focaccia mimi” sandwich (on special) and it was maybe the best sandwich I’ve ever tried - a wonderfully crisp focaccia generously filled with fresh & delicious ingredients. Highly recommend!

In theory this looks great - a range of Italian sweet items and snacks, nicely decorated etc. But it is competing with Biga+ just down the road who are doing a very similar thing, and Biga+ impresses me more on the range of food offerings, the taste of those offerings and also the coffee. The coffee in particular here I thought was pretty average.

We had a fabulous slice of "cassata" and a wonderful type of pistachio "cheesecake" we'd never seen before. We'd recommend a visit to this tiny dessert bakeshop.

Great coffee, wonderful selection of cakes and the best vegan gluten free cheesecake I've ever had! In fact I'm not vegan but it was one of the best cheesecake I'd ever had. Highly recommend

We visited this cafe for a quick lunch before going to the station and so glad we did. It’s a small space and a small menu (always a good sign) but everything was the best we’d tasted in a long time. The coffee was superb, the ciabatta tasted homemade and we watched as authentic Italian cheese and salami was carved off huge blocks and then served in the most delicious hot panini. It appears to be run by two friendly Italian ladies who are very good at what they do! An assuming little place that packs a huge punch, highly recommend

I really liked my hot chocolate. The best hot chocolate in York, hands down. It felt like a warm hug. Tiramisu was delicious dessert. Good servings. Certainly one of the most affordable. This location was quite. It's was a wonderful and cosy cafe with a lot of character. Service was quick. Excellent Italian food and service! It's like taking a trip abroad. The staff was kind. Don't pass up this opportunity! It's well worth a visit. I wholeheartedly suggest it.

Probably the best coffee in York. Definitely one of the cheapest. Around £1 less than all the other cafés. There's loads of mediocre places in York that people queue for with this place being quiet. Proper Italian food, drink and service! Even most of the customers are Italian. It's like a trip abroad. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful owners Elisa and Marchello spoiled us by making a special espresso with pistachio cream. Delicious! It's a jewel of a place and so welcoming! Very inviting menu and cakes. I hope to stop in when I next visit York.

Dont miss this gem! It's a lovely and cosy cafe with plenty of charm. I highly recommend the pizza which is served as a 'sandwich' style. YUM YUM!!!

The staff is very friendly and close. A marvel. The coffee is delicious and the portions are generous and very well priced. One of the best in York when it comes to coffees. We spent two days in York and it was the only place we returned to. We would go again. 100% recommendable

The food, friendliness and price make this the best cafe I have been to in York so far after 2 years living here. I have only tried the desserts so I cannot say anything about the savoury food, but the Coppa Meringa was my favourite. The sweetness of everything was good (not too sweet!) and the coffee was nice too.

The panini's in this place are insanely good. Every element of it is really high quality and combined it tastes amazing. The gelato is also fantastic. Really authentic Italian deli food.

Made a quick stop for some paninis today and they were amazing 🌸the bread was fresh, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside; the ingredients delicious and the amaretto cookie…tasted like a warm hug ❤️ definitely would come back here when visiting York! Also, the staff was incredibly sweet 🥰

Visited with my husband and adult son, for coffee and apple strudel, which came with a little scoop of their gelato - delicious! All the mini cakes and pastries looked so tempting, I will definitely have to return to sample them! Savouries such as focaccia and filled paninis looked scrumptious too! Staff were very pleasant and attentive.

I called in here today for the first time with my husband and 3 year old. This place is so lovely, it had a welcoming cosy vibe, the staff were all really friendly and I could see the chef working hard in the kitchen. We all had gelato and it was the best we’ve ever had! And I felt that it was very reasonably priced. We also order cannolis, amaretti biscuits and cheesecake home as a bank holiday treat all of which were delicious. This place is definitely one to visit

We really enjoyed our food. Freshly prepared, and where did they get their delicious tomatoes? The owner was kneading fresh bread when we were there so I’m guessing that a lot of their food is home made. Also very clean which was refreshing to see. I would genuinely recommend them.

Was introduced to this little gem of an Italian cafe by a family member who is a resident in York. The staff was so warm and welcoming. We had the best coffee we’ve ever had , and we visit Italy every year. They also serve small bites , panini’s and pastries, all looked really good. Will definitely visit next time in York.

During a weekend in York with friends, we had lunch here twice because it’s just so fabulous! They have the great combination of lovely staff and beautiful food (including paninis to die for that are light and crispy and moreish, terrific tiramisu and loaves of bread to take away that are simply perfection). Highly recommend!!

I never normally post reviews, but this place was simply awful. My panini tasted like cardboard and the customer service wasn't much better. Ruined my day.

This place is legendary. I have come here many many times over the last 15 years and I have always been treated very well. The owner and staff always make an effort to recognise all their guests and to make them feel special. The food has been fantastic over the years.

Fantastic little place! Everything we had was delicious; we had a selection of cured meats and cheeses with homemade focaccia and antipasti. I couldn't eat anymore but my husband vouched for the desserts too which I look forward to trying! The coffee was the best I've had out for a long time and the service was great. Thank you team Paradiso, today was our first visit and won't be the last.

So so good for authentic Italian food, that we went back the next morning to get a sandwich, coffee, some Amaretti biscuits and tiramasu for the long journey home. Will seek it out if we visit York again. This place is the real deal.
