Oustanding food and experience. 3rd time at the Rockpool in 5 years and wish I could lived closer. The taste of the food is, as quoted by nearly all reviews, outstanding! This time I had stone bass, served with nectarines, the flavors were amazing Nothing can be added to the comments that are not already made, except to reinforce you must book way in advance during any holiday or weekend period, you will not be disappointed

This was a long awaited visit to restaurant so we were much looking forward to it. We had a reservation on a Thursday night for 1945 (this is relevant), we were about three minutes late arriving. Quickly shown to our table immediately asked if we wanted water so we selected and were swiftly given water, bread and butter. They then came with the menu which we started to look at, yet to be offered a drink! A good 5 mins later asked if wanted a drink and we both opted for the rhubarb cocktail at the top of the food menu. Probably almost 10 minutes passed and our drink arrived which we both thought was lovely, after a few sips our starters arrived. We were a little shocked at this, we had barely had 3 sips of cocktail, I was having spiced crab soup and my partner beef carpaccio, the cocktail does not pair well with either! We found ourselves rushing the cocktail so we could eat, finished cocktail and then ate which we both thoroughly enjoyed. A very short break and our mains arrived (halibut & venison) also both very nice. We also had one glass of wine each. To summarise we had no experience, it was just all rushed. We like to be offered a drink and peruse a menu at leisure, we do not expect to rush a cocktail which we had to wait for to allow us to eat. In most cases we would have much more drinks but it was almost as if we had no time. The plates were cleared, offered dessert (which we declined, very generous starters and mains) and then bill arrived. Our receipt time was 2103, we were in a total of one hour fifteen minutes. I understand you are a very busy and popular restaurant however it came across almost as churning out covers if you get my meaning. You missed out on our later drinks as to be honest we felt like we needed to leave. The staff were all polite but no opportunity to chat/discuss menu they are literally speeding about. I don't enjoy this type of service in a nice restaurant. For reference our bill was £162 so not a cheap bill and my point is I expect it to be a little more relaxed. I was tempted to give a 3 star however the food was all very nice so being honest the 4 is for food, service/experience only merits a 3. I always give a very honest review.

Very good restaurant, but crowded, which is unusual for good places. Duck and venison were amazing, wine selection is very good. Great service. If you're looking for a decent restaurant - this is the place.

We booked a table here for an early lunch and were quite impressed with the location and decor. As the restaurant filled the wait staff struggled to keep up and there were long periods of empty glasses and waiting for service, with no sign of the waitress. The food was flawless, and had the service been more attentive it would garner 5 stars.

What a great place to have dinner. In spite of the restrictions our waitress Sarah managed to be attentive, and informative. The food was first class, I wish I could eat here more often. Go there an be impressed.

Despite COVID restrictions this was just a great dining experience. All the food and drink was delicious but the 'apple' cheesecake was a genius piece of art and taste. Nice staff too. Not cheap but very worth it again and again.

Muy ocupado lo que fue un buen indicador de que es popular. Estuvimos allí para el menú de la tarde, que tenía un precio razonable de 19. 95 para 2 cursos. Todos disfrutaron de sus elecciones, bueno también para los vegetarianos. Cócteles fabulosos. Excelente servicio de espera también.

Nos alojamos en el hotel y, aunque no es barato, estuvimos muy contentos con la comida y también con la selección de vinos. We love this place. Consistantly serve top quality meals & wine. Bit pricey but, as they say, you get what you pay for. Best restaraunt in Inverness without any doubt and, believe me, we have tried them all !!

Viajamos desde Aberdeen en el tren, para almorzar, para un regalo especial, ya que habíamos leído mucho al respecto. La elección fue barata a cara. Tuvimos una extravagancia gourmet, la comida era deliciosa, las bebidas y el vino, genial, los toques de canapés antes de la comida, y unos cuantos dulces pequeños, después del día. This was my second visit to this restaurant whilst visiting Inverness. On both occasions the food has been delicious and the service excellent. Very good value for money - two courses for £19.

A very varied menu takes some time to drool over, and when it arrives it does not disappoint. The quality, taste and portion sizes are all great. Could not find the room for a sweet though ! A must visit for fine food lovers.

My first experience of Rocpool was at Christmas, my friend popped in for some gift vouchers. I knew then I had to go!

I was lucky enough to be taken to the Rockpool Reserve for a birthday lunch and I loved it. The friendly staff , warm comfortable surroundings of the less formal bar and the delicious food which we couldn't fault made for a truly memorable relaxing lunch. I definitely will return.

We arrived at the restaurant 10 mins before closing, as we had just got married a little earlier in the day! We had not booked, but Stephen, the owner, whom we spoke to was very accommodating and offered us a lovely table overlooking the river!

Fuimos a celebrar la boda de nuestros amigos de plata. El servicio era ejemplar nos recibió en la puerta llevaron a nuestra mesa ofrecía bebidas hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. Comimos en el precio fijo de 35 libras. Menú de 3 platos que 00 nos dijeron que podíamos mezclar y marzo con el menú del bar. La elección fue muy buena. para un principiante tuve mejillones en salsa de vino, fue servido con un pan muy sabroso mini marrón, había 7 mejillones un significan poco, principal fui por el faisán. Este consta de dos senos servido con una salsa de una tarta juegos mini y era absolutamente delicioso. Postre de mousse de queso azul era un servido con parmesano y nuevo tortas estaba delicioso. Nuestros compañeros tenía varias selecciones del menú y todos estábamos de acuerdo en que la comida estaba deliciosa, aunque un poco escaso. El vino nuevo fue muy bien pero en £37 y £38 por frasco de vino de la casa. En resumen, una experiencia muy buena pero en el precio tal vez reservados para ocasiones especiales.

Across the board it is hard to find fault. Whether lunch or dinner the consistently deliver good food, affable service and atmosphere. Hopefully it inspires the others to lift their game.

We went there for a dinner without having a reservation. The restaurant was full but after a rather short wait (it is also the case that we got there after 9 pm) we were seated. The food was very good (I had a nice local fish) but not outstanding. The service fast, friendly and "truthful": the waitress who originally told us that some fish were local and fresh came later to correct herself and to say that they are not fresh (that is, were congealed like 99% of the fish one eats in restaurants)..I appreciated that, The wine selection was quite good and overall experience pleasant. Definitely worth a visit.

We dined at Rockpool earlier this week while staying at Culloden House in Inverness. The menu offers very interesting choices and the food does not disappoint. Our group of 4 had halibut, monk fish stir fry with vegetables, venison and beef fillet on greens as entrees. Our starters included scallops, local crab/watermelon/avocado salad and one other choice - all exceeded expectations. Desserts were equally appealing visually and delicious. The restaurant has a great vibe in terms of interior design and staff energy. On another note, two in our party need to eat gluten free - the staff was very informed and almost all menu options are, or can be prepared, gluten free. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Booking is essential at this restaurant otherwise you may not get in; on our visit people were being turned away due to no more bookings being taken on the night. The ambience of the place is very vibrant and the staff very helpful and friendly. Good selection of food and wine is available. The food is well presented and all at a moderate price. A 'must' visit when in Inverness.

My adult daughter and I had our best meal in Scotland at this establishment. The service was prompt, friendly and even better, at times humorous. I had the highland ribeye and my daughter had the venison. Prep and presentation were spot on. Also, do try the Harris Gin!!

There were 4 of us in Inverness golfing. This restaurant was recommended and we couldn't get a table on the first night. We managed to get one on the second night, albeit it was after 9. However, this meal was fantastic from start to finish. We all had different starters, from scallops to mushrooms with black pudding. The mains were amazing. The scallops and prawns with linguine, with a hint of chilli is the best I've tasted. The other dishes, fish and steaks looked fantastic also. The wine was a very good accompaniment to the meal. It is a wee bit more expensive than other restaurants in the area, but it is worth it. Loved it and I'll be back.

My wife and I had dinner here during our 2 day visit to Inverness.We had a pleasant walk from our hotel because Rocpool is very centrally located right across the bridge from town. The restaurant is on the small side and was extremely busy. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly. The servers Shannon, Sandra and the owner Steven treated us like locals which was much appreciated. If we lived in the area we would make this restaurant our go to spot.Make sure you reserve way ahead of time because it was that good.

Came for dinner with friends on a Friday night. While we had a little wait before we were seated we got seated and drinks order taken quickly. We did have a bit of a wait for our food order to be taken but when our first course arrived the wait was well worth it. There were 5 of us in our party and each had something different - all food looked amazing and tasted as good as it looked. Main courses were a equally high standard and it had to be one of the nicest meals I have had. We didn't have dessert but had some coffees. The staff were attentive without being in your face all the time and overall there was a good atmosphere. I felt it was reaonably priced for what we had and worked out about £60 per head. That includes a few bottles of wine and pre dinner drinks. Would highly recommend if looking for a high quality meal.

I have a very restricted diet due to medical reasons but was totally looked after by the staff. Stephen changed the menu for me and invented 2 courses that I was able to eat and actually enjoy. Nothing was too much trouble and for the first time in ages i didn't feel like I had a disability. We had a most enjoyable evening in great surroundings with a fabulous atmosphere and friendly but professional staff...would highly recommend

A busy restaurant with good decor and friendly and helpful staff. Food was sublime, especially the Cheese Burrata and peppers to start and the Loin of Venison for the main course. This was our last night of a 10 night holiday in Scotland and it was easily the best meal.

My brother and I took our 80-year-old father on a 2-week visit to the U. K., including five days in Inverness, and our dinner at Rocpool was the most outstanding meal that we enjoyed during the entire trip. We were very fortunate to be seated, however, by arriving as restaurant opened in the evening. Many parties without reservations were turned away due to the restaurant's limited seating and excellent reputation.

Family chose this restaurant for a lunch to celebrate my 60th birthday. There were 5 adults plus a 9 month old toddler. We were placed at a large round table at the window which was nice and bright with the wee one on a highchair.We found the service and the food to be excellent. The waiting staff knew when to approach us to serve and clear and giving us time to enjoy the food and company.Without going into detail I would say that there was nothing that we could fault with our lunch - perfect.

Dined in the restaurant during our stay in Inverness. Formal to casual attire. The cuisine is creative, presented beautifully, and fabulous.

We dined here rather than stayed. Not to be confused with the similar named restaurant in town. This is just a short taxi ride out of the town centre. It was a brilliant menu. Well up to Roux Bros standards. Varied and imaginative. Lots of add on bits and pieces. Great tonic with the gin, great wine choice. Everything on the menu is recommended. The height of fine dining. Great service. The only problem with it was a somewhat staid atmosphere. One gets the impression that a loud party or even a couple would be somewhat frowned up by other dinners.

We were at Rockpool with a group of 12. The restaurant is very easy to locate right in the center of town on the river. The inside is modern yet warm and friendly. It's somewhat noisy due to the design and materials, but the noise just made the place seem more lively and fun to us.The menu is excellent as is the wine list. I had the venison and haggis and it was very good. Service was also excellent.I'd recommend this restaurant.

Beautifully presented dishes, clever combinations of ingredients and flavours. I really enjoyed all the dishes I tried (we dined there twice during our holiday, as we were staying in the hotel). Impeccable service too - I would not hesitate to recommend this for a special occasion.

This is one of those few restaurants which you must visit at least once. The food is outstandingly brilliant as you would expect from a Roux establishment. The floating cheese soufflé is to die for! Absolutely nothing negative to say about this restaurant after five visits.

Booked this hotel because it had a really good deal for DBB. The room was spotless, tastefully decorated in a modern style.We chose to have our breakfast in our room, there was a really good variety of choice and delivery was made at exactly the time we had requested. The real highlight of this hotel however is the restaurant. We had eaten here before and was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel stay. I had the best dessert I have ever had here - the chocolate creme brûlée it is to die for! Order it if it is on the menu you will not be disappointed! The meals are always cooked to a high standard here, this restaurant really is a favourite for us to visit when we are in Inverness. Polite service, nice wines can't fault it. Some rooms have a hot tub if you want that extra bit of luxury!

Rocpool Reserve is not quite sure whether it is a Boutique Hotel or a Restaurant with rooms. We think it is the former.We went for Christmas Lunch which was good - but overpriced compared with top class restaurants. We had Canapes (the Vegetarian versions were poor), Superb Lobster Bisque, VERY disappointing Oysters Rockefeller and than an exclellent Wild Sea Bass with artichokes. The puddings were excellent too and included a home made individual Christmas pudding packed with fruit and nuts. The Wine List is quite restricted but the Chablis we chose was first class.The staff were very attentive but lacked the finesse of specialist restaurants (do not do anything like the number of covers I suspect) but certainly did all they could to give us a special Christmas Day.

Only a few rooms, but well appointed and designed. The bar is good and the restaurant is excellent. The location is perfect for Inverness city centre and walks along the river.

We had a great dinner at Rockpool. Fresh ingredients and good service here. It was very busy the night we were there, but service was still good. Definitely need reservations to get in.

We ahd to reserve a table and were told the only one available was at 5:45 pm. This was fine with us as we rather like to eat early.On arriving we were the only guests. 15 minutes later the place was jammed with customers. The staff was very helpful in finding a different table for seating conveniences.The food was outstanding, the waiters very competent and helpful. The winless large and decently priced. A real perfect treat. This is a must when visiting Inverness but be sure to make early reservations, even on weekdays.

Lovely dinner for 4 of us. We'll laid out, tables not too close together, music not too loud, staff attentive and informed. I had scallops with chorizo to start which were cooked to perfection, sauce was particularly tasty. Main was monkfish, again presented and cooked to perfection. Finished off with a tasty chocolate desert. Haven't been here for dinner in a few years but definitely be back. Thank you guys for making our night so good.

Myself and three friends dined here on New Years eve this year. At £95 + wine we had high expectations of the standard of food. The food and service were good but not worth the price tag. There was no advice on wine and I don't think many of the staff were knowledgable. It was a set meal and one dish contained shellfish which I'm allergic to. We told them in advance and this was easily accommodated but some of the staff seemed confused about what course had shellfish in it and almost took away a meat course! The portions were slightly too large for the number of them and we would have preferred less food more taste. Dessert was a stand out course.There was a great view of the fireworks on the balcony and overall the staff were very friendly. I think some of the staff needed training as the service wasn't consistent. Considering this cost over £600 for 4 we were disappointed as it compared with meals less than half this price.

Great welcome. Great cocktails. Really good food, though the salted caramel pudding tasted oily and lacked caramel flavour. Our waitress must have passed our comment to the Head Chef who came to the table and discussed it with us, very openly and amicably. I checked the bill next day and felt that we had been overcharged. On returning to the hotel, the bill was readily scrutinised and agreement reached that we had been overcharged by £25.That's really good customer service and we'll be back.

Received a warm welcome on arrival to the hotel for our lunchtime reservation. We continued to the comfortable lounge for pre lunch drinks and some nibbles.Food including presentation was excellent and served efficiently with minimum fuss.Waiting staff were friendly, helpful and unimposing. Well done 10/10 for superb lunch in relaxed beautiful surroundings.

This restaurant was amazing!! We had the set menu - which included parsnip soup - literally the best soup I've ever eaten. The main courses were incredible and would also recommend the cocktails! The waiters were all extremely helpful and lovely! When we first arrived we were the only customers, but we never once felt like the waiters were hovering over us. Absolutely fantastic night and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting inverness!

Both the food and service were tops. The sauteed liver was recommended by the waiter and it was one of the tastiest dinners I had in Scotland during our 2 week stay. Very cool vibe....pretty space...

Dinner at the Rockpool Reserve starts with a warm welcome at the door.Im always amazed at the attention to detail.Some people may not notice but its always such a treat to be welcomed .The treat continues with cosy relaxed and tres chic surroundings in the bar for pre dinner drinks .If you are not drinking alchohol there is a special cocktail menu .Dinner was lovely and the service 10/10. The waiting staff were never imposing but pampered us with top ups of water and took our order with precision every time.Thank you to the team of Rockpool Reserve for a sublime evening.

Came here on advice of some locals. Had booked an early table as we're travelling onwards to Ullapool that evening. Lovely welcome from the staff, and cocktail bar would have been great for an evening if no car. Nice nibbles and cocktails - looking forward to returning to work through the malt Whisky collection. Restaurant very smart , and very French . Food spectacular Roux standard in Inverness. Lovely floating cheese soufflé in cheese sauce, duck breast as main course, Scottish venison cooked to perfection. Prices very reasonable - Inverness not Edinburgh or London rates. Be back as soon as we can.

We enjoyed afternoon drinks in the bar here - really plush comfy seats nicely arranged in nooks and booths and a very calm relaxing atmosphere. The nibbles were a nice touch and staff were very friendly and helpful. Cocktail menu was extensive and the ambience of the bar was great. I would definitely recommend this bar!

What a welcome, staff greeted me at the entrance with a smile and a bit of small talk. Then showed me to a wonderful bar area where more staff were eager to help but not in a pushy way. Any questions asked were answered., I was given this excellent menu and chose my meal. Once my table was ready I was escorted to it, and again nothing was to much trouble The meal was absolutely outstanding, not the cheapest meal I have ever had but you get what you pay for and in this instance was worth every penny. I will certainly be going back and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a special night.Well done to all the staff and many thanks from Rab.

Dined with 5 friends and enjoyed everything about this restaurant, difficult to find one area they could improve on, perhaps if pushed I would say the decor lacks imagination and colour. The highlights for me were the variety of choice offered on each course of the menu and the presentation, taste and freshness of the food was outstanding. The maitre de was very chatty and related some great stories about his time in Barbados and Australia. Wished I lived in Inverness this would be my local for sure, a must visit for any foodie.Thanks to everyone for making this a memorable night

Overall this was an absolutely lovely meal. The early evening special provided 2 courses at great value! The service was professional and friendly and the general atmosphere very relaxed. The food was fantastic and left my partner and I very satisfied. You are always guarantied a fantastic meal Ar Rockpool!

Inverness can be justifyabley proud to have such a high quality establishment. The food is exquisit and the rooms luxurious. The staff are very friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. I have heard criticism of the dining room feeling disjointed, but this is purely an architectural unavoidability. Personally, I fell it adds charm to the restaurant. The walls are covered in photos of the master of master chefs, Albert Roux, who has developed the Rockpool Reserve, the fabulous menu and its excellent wine list. This is a real find!

Me and my Mrs ate here, all I can say in the food is excellent,we've eaten in a few nice places over the years and I can say this place is up there with the best.

Had to get the waiter to read the men out to us as some of it was in French. Nice food when we knew what it was. There is parking and it is a 5min walk from town centre.

Cocktail bar and drinks were great, however found the restuarant area clinical and everything you said could be heard round the area, background music could be louder, then after a small party came in we couldnt hear ourselves think. staff were good.food was well cooked but a bowl full of puy lentils and a small piece of duck without any vegetables or different textures was too boring! we also had to go searching for someone to pay for it!!!

Stayed for a night in June and pushed the boat out to do it but worth every penny.Room very nice and full of all the little luxuries you might expect from a high end place. Met on arrival and welcomed by lovely staff, very weel trained and so polite -eat lunch in the bar and was very pleased. Breakfast was top notch--loads of choice and really well done.If I want to push a boat out in Inverness again this is where I'll do it.

A member of the family in Inverness had heard of its reputation and asked for gift tokens to go. If it was good enough for her it was going to be wonderful. Yes it was wonderful. We booked very late for August Bank Hol Sunday evening and they were able to accommodate us if we were early - no problem. The restaurant was full all the time we were there. The staff were fun and very efficient, the food was out of this world - as you would guess mainly fish and the meal, although not exceptionally cheap, very good value for money, wine prices reasonable but a great place to go. If you are in Inverness then get there quick. No we did not use the gift tokens they are for the couple to enjoy a romantic evening there by themselves.
