We were recommended these tea rooms and it didn't disappoint. Friendly staff and prompt service. We had a lovely lunch. Homemade soup was on offer but we opted for sandwiches and tea for 2.

What a great find! From the outside, you’d never guess what a delight was waiting inside – a cosy, quirky tea room with an amazing array of tempting treats. The staff were cheerful and helpful. The cakes and pastries all looked fabulous – and the ones we plumped for were outstanding. We took a scone away with us for later and that was spectacular too. The tea was good and strong and the prices are very reasonable. We’ll definitely be back – to try all the other cakes on offer.

When dad visits he insists on popping in. Breakfasts a delicious as is the coffee. The service is always spot on, very kind and quick. They also sell local produce which he always makes a point of buying. They are happy to assist with dietry requirments and offer gluten free bread as an option too. Really lively cozy atmosphere. Dad says that all hot food and cakes he's had have been wonderful and the service is spot on too. He's looking forward to visiting again soon.

Great place for breakfast, it was a frosty morning and me and a friend popped in while it was just opening, the fire was on and we soon received a brilliant breakfast, the bacon and tomatoes were some of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend.

It was my first visit to this tea room today. I came with a friend who had been before and told me how lovely it is. Very cosy, quaint tea room. Friendly and very efficient service. We visited for lunch. We all had the homemade soup which was excellent, but the beef sandwich I had either needed less bread or more filling it was a bit too "bready" and I didn't really enjoy it. Service ok, prices reasonable

My wife and I come to this lovely quaint cafe whenever we visit the area. This year, after a two year gap, we found it has expanded into the rear grassy area with rustic tables and benches. Very pleasant on the three sunny days we visited for afternoon tea and breakfasts. The small English breakfast and bacon roll we ordered were beautifully cooked with good quality ingredients, with the possible exception of the bread roll of the bacon bap which I found a bit dry and overly bulky. Great to have a cafe that serves a quality sausage in its breakfast rather than cheaper ones. The tea, cakes and sandwich we shared the previous day were also lovely. I’d highly recommend this lovely little place. Each half hour overlooking the lovely meadow with good food in warm sunshine certainly lifted our spirits.

Visited today and whilst placing a food and drinks order a mature lady behind the counter (the cook I believe) muttered to a colleague that I should be wearing mask. I offered to go and get my mask from my car but suggested she she ask me directly and not mutter it loud enough for me to hear as that’s quite rude. She said no it’s fine as no other customers were in the shop. There was no signage insisting masks must be worn, she wasn’t wearing a mask herself also I noticed other customers placing there orders afterwards were also not wearing masks and nothing was mentioned. If you insist on customers wearing masks then please display the signage at the point of entry and also ensure your staff are also wearing them. Ask customers politely if they are required to wear them and ensure this policy is consistent for all customers.

We visited today and at first a nice young man greeted us. My friend ordered a pot of tea and a scone and I ordered a pot of tea. I was then told by an older man that I needed to spend more as they get busy at this time. I was ready to leave but as my friend had already paid for hers, I ordered a pot of tea and said I would also have a scone to take home as I wasn't hungry at this point. The older man then said to me that I can have a pot of tea this once.there was one other table taken even though he kept saying how busy they get. I felt he was very rude and unpleasant, the atmosphere was awful. It used to be a special place I would take my mum when she was alive but I wouldn't go back there now.

I took my mum for lunch 27/02/20. She had the soup of the day which she liked but was a half small bowl and came with a white poor quality bread roll , it would have been nice if she was offered a choice as most cafes ask brown , white and offer a granary stile roll with soup. But my main gripe was with the over priced bacon roll I ordered and I only say over priced because of the quality of the meat and roll. The roll was as basic as it could be and the bacon was dry crusty and at leat two thirds of it was inedible as it was full of hard bits of very fatty gristle , if it was just a little on the edge I could have picked it off but this was all through it so I took it out and left it. So basically I paid 11 pound for half a bowl of warm soup and two rubbish bread rolls . I did want to complain but my mum who is 79 didn’t want to make a fuss. We left there and went to another cafe for a second lunch as we were still very hungry. Well done Rockingham village cafe. NOT ! Worse food I have ever been served ....Pic of disgusting bacon. The picture does not do the poor quality and fat content justice. Shocking did I get the last of today’s bacon or the trimmings from The floor? I DONT normally leave bad reviews but as even though I have ate since all I can taste is over salted bacon I felt I had too. I live locally and will give this place a body swerve from now on.

I bring my mum here regularly because we are always served the best bacon sandwiches! We choose their brown bread and to be honest, we nearly always select the same option because it’s just sooo good! (I have my bread toasted). There’s always a selection of cakes available, along with baked potatoes, home-made soup, sandwiches etc. There are sets of vintage crockery for sale, which are displayed in cabinets and jars of local honeys and various condiments.Jamie does the cooking and is always very friendly and welcoming, as is Angela, the waitress and when the proprietor is there, he’s also friendly and helpful. I don’t know how they manage to work in the limited space they have but they do it very well.Walkers and cyclists are welcome. There’s a dog’s water bowl outside the entrance and a few seats outside the front, with a small seating area outside the side of the building for use in the summer season. During the winter months there’s a log burner warming the seating area. This is a small building and the car parking space is limited. (I usually try to reverse into a space for an easy exit). However, it is what it is - a quaint tea room (so don’t expect a Tardis) and therefore if you can get in here, it’s certainly worth visiting. If you can’t, that’s unfortunate but maybe try again another day.

Rockingham is a pretty estate village perched on a hill beneath the Norman Castle. A Conservation Area it avoids the sprawl of Corby New Town. The Barn is almost hidden beyond the buildings on the street but it does have off-street car parking. Inside a simple interior which is warm and welcoming. A short menu at decent prices. We had tea for four with lovely scones and jam. Deserves to do well.

tearoom is closed at the moment and is having a makeover and a new owner. There is going to be a garden with views across the fields, for alfresco dining!!

I think my title sums it up- a great place for a cuppa and the most delicious cakes. I was delighted to sample their wonderful gluten free carrot cake. Simply delicious!

It might be small but the welcome is perfect. Visited twice over the bank holiday, first we just had bacon sandwiches and tea but on the second visit we had their cooked breakfast, toast and tea all served just right. As for prices very reasonable. If the other reviewer thinks it's expensive I hate to think where they are eating probably from a van in the middle of nowhere. Judging by the many customers arriving we can't all be wrong about the place or else they would not return. Being just below the castle it makes a great place to stop.

we had a lovely afternoon tea, good menu. it seemed perfectly clean to me, and tables were cleared promptly. we shared a chicken sandwich which came cut into triangles with a salad and a few crisps on a plate, very nice. we also had a cream tea each, which was two fresh warm homemade scones each, with clotted cream and nice pot of jam and a pot of tea for two with a pot of hot water, with nice china and table cloths on the tables. the service was very warm and friendly and fast and efficient. there were plenty of tables big and little. it wasn't cheap but then I didn't think it was expensive either, the cream tea was about £5 odd each including the tea. the sandwich was about £6 odd, I think the bill was around about £18. you could take a picnic if its nice weather to sit in the lovely grounds of the castle.

A very basic tearoom, which at first appearance isn't particularly clean. On further inspection after sitting down, we realised it really isn't that well taken care of.We ordered cakes and a pot of tea, all of which arrived quickly enough. The cake was fresh and the tea was hot, so what more could you want?It was quite pricey for what we had, so we aren't likely to visit again soon.

The menu was good but service was too slow and prices too expensive. The tables are too close together for comfort but I presume that this is necessary to fit in enough tables. take a picnic instead.

We use the Tea Rooms every week for our lunch after our game of golf . The welcome we get is always warm and friendly . The table clothed tables and china tableware add to the cosy atmosphere . There is a varied menu and a good selection of hot and cold drinks , the coffee is freshly ground which is especially tasty .All food is made to order and nothing is too much trouble from the friendly staff . Would recommend if only just for a cuppa !

Went into this tea room in Rockingham and was very disapointed in the atmosphere. Looking for afternoon tea and the cakes and scones looked unwelcoming. I am sure with a little thought it could be a warm and welcoming place to go.

As always the food was amazing and the portions very generous. A lovely warm welcome and Sarah went above and beyond when one of our party decided after our meals were brought out that she would like some bread and butter with her meal. Sarah sorted it out without any fuss.

We stopped by chance at The Percy Arms for a drink and ended up eating an amazing meal-Wednesday afternoon and very quiet but the food was delicious and the service excellent. The soup was very tasty and the steak cooked to perfection - we will return!

I’m so sad to see this lovely place closed. It had great staff and atmosphere and a fantastically good smoked haddock chowder. I wish its people all the best and I thank them for all the great visits we’ve had here. I really hope that there might be a replacement cafe of such quality. We’ll watch with interest.

Our introduction to this country pub was to a spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean bedroom, with stunning views of the fells. Next dinner and cooking of Michelin quality. A highlight was the scallop with belly pork, a brilliant dish. Next morning breakfast, again flawless in every respect from the service to the produce. Any prospective dining pub owner/chef should come here to see how it's done.

My partner & I came here on Sunday for a spot of lunch we both had Fish & Chips ( I had salad with mine instead of chips) I have to say the fish was amazing I would say 100 times better than you would get at a fish shop. The batter was so light & crispy and the fish tasted so good. The staff made us feel so welcome happy smiling faces and we did not have to wait long before our food came I would whole heartily recommend plants plus for lunch
