Rock Salt in Bristol, City of

I just moved into Bristol and wanted to have Indian to cure my hunger, so I had ordered dinner from this place and 2 of the 3 dishes I had ordered had long strands of hair in it. The worst part is I found them as I was chewing and pulled it out of my mouth. Really disappointed by this.

Awesome experience of Indian and Chinese dishes freshly prepared and mouth watering I think everyone should visit this awesome place with warm welcome and awesome food. Thanks to warm hospitality of lifetime. Thanks to all rocksalt friendly staffs

Really great restaurant. The waitresses were really friendly and polite. Food always amazing love the mixture of Indian/ Chinese dishes Bare in mind there is a time frame for the length of time you can stay in the restaurant when busy.

The staff were really lovely and friendly, we were even given a free cheesecake which was very sweet, though we were asked to leave 15 minutes before our table was booked until, so we had to rush. The food was absolutely perfect! Our experience unfortunately wasn’t great as there was a table of around 20 people, and as it’s a small restaurant it was SO loud! We couldn’t chat or enjoy ourselves and I left with a headache. So, whilst generally it was a lovely meal, it was really let down by the atmosphere

Had the fulfilling and lovely dining in Rocksalt. One of the best indian Chinese cuisine I have ever experienced in bristol. Food was amazing and the service was fast staff are so welcoming.

Waiter tipped over a pint of Cobra over one of us completely soaking them. Drink replaced but no offer of anything else apart from apologies. Then 30 mins before the hour and 45 mins allowed we were told had 15 mins to leave as table was needed!!.

Really really loved everything. Felt immediately at ease the moment we stepped in. Their special with the prawns was top notch and i’m glad we had it with their naan because they paired beautifully. Staff hospitable, genuine, and friendly. 5 stars ❤️

Honestly the loveliest place to go. The staff were amazing, the food was the nicest I've had for a long time,best Chinese ever. Our friends had the Indian and loved it. We went in the afternoon and that was great for us as we were a group of 6, it can get a bit rowdy with chatting and laughing, but we were the only people in there because we went mid afternoon. We had the attention of the staff for just us. It was a lovely atmosphere and we are already looking to book and go again the try the rest of the menu. Top marks 👌

I tried several dishes from both the 'Indian' and 'Chinese' menus. Despite the use of good ingredients and their best intentions, the dishes were far from having authentic Indian or Chinese flavors. They're just trying to imitate those cuisines. The palak paneer and Kerala beef curry didn’t taste Indian. The chow mein, egg fried rice, and vegetable spring rolls were really a world apart from Chinese food. I think they should probably focus on one cuisine and hire chefs from that country. It’s a big pass for me

Walked in on a Friday evening and lucky to get a table (good job it was just the two of us). Glad we did. Emily was helpful, service was quick, food was beyond your usual Chinese/Indian fare and was excellent. Couldn’t stay long as we were on a schedule but would love to have tried the desserts. Highly recommended (but make sure you book).

Celebrated my friend’s birthday at Rock Salt and it was great!! Food was really delicious. I found the Indian food better and richer than the Chinese ones, some with great spice level! Also Emily, our waitress was super helpful and fun.

Beautiful food, super quick service and friendly staff!

We had a variety of starters to share (Indian and Chinese) and then 3 Indian curries for main. All the food was so flavoursome, loads of choice for vegetarians. Would thoroughly recommend.

I ordered a chicken korma and all I could taste was sugar! Even the beef my friend had ordered didn’t taste like it. The staff was super friendly! But wouldn’t recommend.

Came on a Wednesday night and it was packed so I'd definitely book ahead. You can have Indian or Chinese cuisine and both are really good. I had salt and pepper prawn starter and fish curry for main. We shared a rice and naan. Plenty of food and everything was delicious and full of flavour. To top it off the staff were brilliant, very friendly, attentive and just very lovely. My friend I went with has been many times and I would definitely go again!

Food was perfect, cooked really well and filled with flavours, chutneys with the poppadoms were an amazing twist to their classic curry house counterparts. Fairly priced for the experience as well, £50 for a starter 2 mains, 2 sides, and soft drinks, servers were attentive and clearly knew what they were doing. Only nit-pick is that our mains came a little too quickly after our starters, however a non-issue in relation to the fabulous dining experience

I ordered take out through deliveroo. Tried their meal for one with spring rolls, egg fried rice and chilli chicken. Chicken was slightly more sour than i expected it to be but delicious nonetheless. Spring rolls were crispy and divine! Portion size was great too. I would definitely order agai.

Incredible food! The dal makhana was the best I've ever had! And the chicken thigh starter was also extremely delicious and beautifully cooked. Very nice vibes in there, and great service. Plus they brought out a delicious pudding for my partner's birthday which was a really special touch. Couldn't fault it, feels exactly what Bristol needs

Ate here last night. I have been once before but first time for my friend. Food was excellent, they even offered to let us split dumplings into veggie and meat. Staff were lovely and definitely made the atmosphere with their kind and considerate service. Would recommend trying!

We enjoyed a delightful experience at Rock Salt last weekend with some good friends. The venue itself is interesting and fun, the service was excellent and the food was refreshingly bright, spicy and flavoursome. My Kerala beef curry was a joy! A lively atmosphere, good company, great food and nicely attentive staff; what's not to like! I'm looking forward to taking my daughter there for her 30th already!

The starters were delicious. We had a gluten free person with us who was well catered for. Portions were very generous and our waitress Emily was extremely helpful with suggestions and very energetic. We will definitely return!!

We went to Rock Salt and were served by Emily, who was lovely and took my gluten allergy seriously (she even offered to move us in case I was sensitive to being close to gluten!). The food was incredible - we had the Murg Saagwala and Baingan Theeyal - and they have something to suit everyone’s tastes. Great selection of wines and amazing cocktails, and the most mangoey mango sorbet I’ve ever had! 10/10 Team Rock Salt!!

Me and my partner have been to rocksalt may times and always thought great things of it! Unfortunately, this time we visited the food wasn't up to the standards that we have had previously as the food wasn't cooked to which we had to ask for it to be cooked again, the service was great as usual, the only thing that let it down was a very loud group of people which disturbed not only us but the whole restaurant and decided to give us grief when confronted about it, we kept our composure and decided to leave the restaurant with a full table of food and still expected to pay the full bill which was over £100 we were disappointed in as the servers even said sorry for us leaving and knew this was the reason why. We were asked if we wanted to take our food but we just wanted to leave as it really ruined our evening. This wasn’t rocksalts fault but we expected more customer service than what we got and for that we probably won’t return for a while.

Amazing food, ordered separate menus but had a great food experience. Prices were great and thr food was cooked beautifully. Would recommend to anyone, vegetarians will love the Chinese green veg( my favourite).
