Very friendly and very quick. Also threw in a freebie as they didn't have what I wanted. There are one or two staple items I would expect to see which aren't there and the flavour of the food, while nice, was not massively vibrant. However, the service was excellent and the prices are very good. I would definitely go back there next time I wanted a Chinese, mainly based on the service and pricing.

I’m new to this place. I was very impressed from my welcome as soon as I walked through the front door, to the menu to the politeness of the gentleman who took my order, to the price, to the speed of preparation, to the generous portion and finally, to the quality and flavour of my food - Szechuan Chicken and Egg Fried Rice. Superb. A real gem in very close proximity to me so one that I will use again. Worth noting, CASH ONLY so go prepared.

I moved away from this area but go back whenever I can. Absolutely the best spot for Chinese takeaway in Bristol. Luke is so kind and thoughtful. My favourite is the beef chow mein here.

My favourite local takeaway for the last 12 years I have lived in the area. Beef in black bean sauce or chicken balls with curry sauce is my go to on a Friday night. The friendliest service possible.

Beware the sweet and sour chicken balls and/or egg fried rice. They are tasty, but I threw up that night :( Update: Next day had terrible bowels and stomach cramps/GERD. What was in these things???

The BEST Chinese ever. I have had many chinese takeaways in my life however this one is the best. I travel 3 hours from Nottinghamshire for this chinese. Never have eaten food better than this. The staff is fabulous and the prices are amazing. WOW

My parents used to always buy a Chinese takeaway from New Happy Palace when we were young, (& still do). To this day, myself & my family also buy our takeaways from here. Every single dish cooked & served from here is always of superb quality & taste, as has always been. We have occasionally tried other local Chinese takeaways, but nothing compares to New Happy Palace. Beautiful food.

Having been coming here for the past 5 years, I am very disappointed in the food I have received from there recently. The chicken has been either black and a horrible taste or a chewy. It’s a shame really as before this I would always recommend this place.

Just had the best Chinese curry I've ever had from here. Great flavour and packed with king prawns. Great value Definitely will be coming back. Wish I lived closer but will be well worth the trip. The man on counter was great too. Definitely lives up to the name. Happy by name happy by nature.

Best Chinese! Food is just spot on every time can’t complain in the slightest. The best service! Always so lovely to pop into happy palace, lucky to have this gem near us, thanks Happy Palace as always.

Me and the family have been going here for years and it is rare that we have a wrong item in our order or have bad food but whenever they get it wrong it's your fault no matter what, they don't want to fix it to keep you as a happy loyal customer just rather you need to speak more clearly when making your order for next time or that the food wasn't as bad as you tell them it was which is ridiculous, only three orders in six months was bad and or they gave us a wrong item and it doesn't even matter how much you spend even if it forty or even fifty pounds at a time, you are still the one in the wrong and not them so literally save your breath and time when trying to make a complaint as they don't even care, after the service we had tonight we will be looking elsewhere for our Chinese

Me and my family have always loved Happy Palace and have been coming here for years. You'll get fantastic food and get such a wonderfully kind greet from one of the happiest people I've ever met and solidifies the fact that it really is a "Happy Palace". The only reason I have put four stars is because there isn't really an online presence for delivery. Otherwise it is amazing!

Tasteless food. Spent about £29, had to throw 80% of the food away.

We came here because we saw the amazing rating and great reviews… and have to say it’s possibly the worst Chinese we have ever had. Everything was really gloopy and completely tasteless. We spent £30 and had to throw almost all of it away. The guy we ordered from was lovely, hence the second star. Really really disappointed.

Best Chinese in Bristol. We’ve been coming here for over 20 years. Never a bad meal. My daughter and I pick our tea up, from work, as our Friday family treat and take it home to Wales. No Chinese around us is as good. Well worth the money. New Happy Palace makes me happy 😊

My wife was pregnant delivering in southmead and wanted Chinese, saw this place rated so high. She wanted prawns and pork and this place delivered. This was 5 months ago. I'm travelling almost 10 miles to this place cos everywhere nearer don't even come close. Will recommend

The most amazing Chinese food take away. I have been going here for over 5 years now and couldn’t ask for a better service than we get from here. As a fussy eater they are more than willing to cater for my needs, the guy on front desk is always smiling and happy to help. It’s a shame they don’t deliver but this is not a negative in anyway. Sorry to be so negative but this is the worst chinese we have ever tried to eat, not just Bristol. Tried this based on the highly rated reviews??? Tasteless crispy chilli beef, apart from a dry batter with a fishy aftertaste. Chow mein was a nasty gloop of congealed sauce, clearly not mixed in and it tasted like roast chicken dinner gravy not chow mein.

Well worth driving over from Horfield. My wife and I had two chicken chow mein and a box of ribs and we were stuffed! Brilliant quality - the chicken was really nice and the noodles were bang on. I really like the classic mix of noodles and bean sprouts and the flavour was just like it should be. Proper foil packaging too - none of that plastic rubbish. The ribs were brilliant too and came with vegetables which had a great flavour. They threw in some prawn crackers and we were both stuffed. Portion sizes like they’re supposed to be. I won’t be getting Chinese take-away from anywhere else in future.

Best Chinese food so far,very high standard of hygiene and the tastiest in bristol,there is no other like it. I lived in filton and now in kingswood but still order always regardless of the distance. I would highly recommend this Chinese takeaway to anyone.

Highly recommend this place we've been using this Takeaway for 30+ years. The food is excellent, tasty, well cooked and very generous portions. The sweet and sour chicken is huge. Always service with a smile. You won't be disappointed.

In all of Bristol, I am yet to find a Chinese restaurant that beats New Happy Palace. Their food is consistently superb, customer service is top-notch, and I am always happy after every order.

SIMPLY GREAT. I order the same thing each time after having it at a friends home - Singapore fried rice with extra chillies and a portion of chicken balls occasionally changing the dip from sweet & sour to curry sauce. Seasoned well, not greasy, great customer service, definitely worth the drive to collect!

Love this place, used to visit with my dad as a kid and still has that great old school vibe that gives it its charm. Great food and great friendy staff that know the locals and always talk. Only place i go for a Chinese takaway in filton.

Ive ordered quite a few times from this place and the food has always been delicious. Good price. Sometimes they add a free item. Very polite and welcoming staff. Only drawback is that they don’t take card. Apart from this it’s top notch food 👌

This is my favourite .every Saturday without fail the family has there food from here .only problem I have is it's always packed and orders over the fhone delays our order more.but well worth it would not go anywhere else

Definitely worthy of five stars! Always our go-to Chinese. We ordered £60 worth of food this evening, they had it ready in 15 mins and even threw in a new dish for free! 6 very happy students.

There best Chinese take away there is, bar none! It is a must for anyone. I live other side of Bristol and I still try to go there when I'm around. I've tried many and there is one, 1 minute from where I live but it's nowhere near as good

The wait can be long at times and their estimates don't match reality during busy times but the service is excellent, the staff friendly and the food amazing. Probably the best chinese in north Bristol.
