So very tasty all of it nice delivery staff polite and on time no complaints

Staff are always really friendly and the food is tasty and fantastic value for money

When I place in order for delivery they always give me wrong items they always do that to me and I get very upset so they got one star 🌟.

Chips were hard and cold, fish just ok but no flavour but at least that was hot

didn't even call me like I ask very nicely on all my orders. gave it to someone without even asking for the code..

Absolutely awful service. Waited over an hour for the food after being told it would arrive in 30 minutes. Called back. Rude staff. Said we shouldn’t have been told the food was arriving in 30 minutes and that the food was still with them. Nonchalantly said they didn’t know when it would be delivered. Will never order again. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Food was sent out and didnt arrive until just after half hour later, all the food was cold will not be ordering again.

When finally arrived put in bin was not hot ate somewhere else

The service as usual was great. Lady followed instructions on my front door which are ring the bell & wait, food piping hot & freshly cool.well worth money

Has to be the most expensive chip shop in Chelmsford. Greasy fish, old oil flavored chips. Wasn't nice and 2 small cod and chips plus 2 sausages come to just shy of 30quid. And wasn't happy I was paying card as they insist on cash. Even telling me where the cash machine is. Sounds like a tax dodge. Won't be going again. Awful.

I did not receive our drink with the nuggets meal and only got five nuggets instead of six which I paid for.

The bagels 100%. Wasn't disappointed at all. Always top quality from Robinsons.

heavy evening traffic delayed the courier but Robinsons kept us up to date which was excellent customer service food was superb

A little late due to traffic (got a call to explain), but food was piping hot when delivered. Easily the best fish and chips in Chelmsford (I’ve tried them all). Lovely crisp batter, perfectly cooked chips. Recommended 👍🏻

absolutely impeccable service, geezer always makes me save money and berates me when i try to refuse. prices seem like theyve been frozen in time since opening back in the black and white days. i like the massive potato machine theyve got behind the counter and the pedestal they use to dump the potatoes in. the machine goes BZHZHZHZHZUGUGIUT misses cod aint got nothing on robinsons i really wanna try the giant fish finger which is a "moster" but im too scared to ask in case its too intimidating

Brilliant, bangkok burger was replaced with veggie burger and chili sauce was a great replacement and the rest of the other was loved.

The driver was great, however I blamed him for the late delivery of which I apologize. I only received half my order !

Every time I’m in Chelmsford, I head for this fish n chip shop for lunch. Visited today and was amazed some specials were half price !! I had sausage in batter and chips, for £3. 😱 The chips are in my top 3. Same every time. So tasty 😊 sausage in batter was banging. 5*. I still can’t believe that was only £3.

This shop has stood the test of time … since 1902 … and if it’s still going, then that truely does say something about the food ….. As a child, back in the 1960’s/1970’s, I remember Robinsons Fish‘n’Chip Shop used to have the best feed in Chelmsford and those pickled onions, still make my mouth water, just thinking about them … I moved to Australia back in 1974 but still remember walking down the road, every Friday evening, to this place, to pick up Tea for my family … Cod’n’Chips, 6 times , 5 big pickled onions and two Wally’s (Gherkins) for my Dad, thanks! … I wish I could still wonder down there on a Friday night and pick up tea, but it’s just a bit far to go from NSW, Australia… perhaps they’ll deliver?🤪

fish and batter really nice, batter light and not greasy, chips were just how I like them. mushy peas a bit too watery but still ate them. everything still very hot when it was delivered = perfect x

Hi I order from robinsons regularly and I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone. The food today was absolutely amazing just like it always is. The young lady that took my order was really lovely and even the delivery driver was so nice and respectful. Thanks again for the perfect food and perfect customer service

Ordered a meal, was told it would be 15 minutes. Shop was pretty much empty but the couple of staff working were prepping orders for delivery I assume. 40 minutes later our food was ready. Food was also really disappointing, the chips were just rubbish. They used to be the best in town, not any more. Nearly £30 spent, won't be making that mistake again. Also, they say they are cash only but if you kick up a fuss they whip a machine out from behind the counter. We paid cash but saw it happen twice.

As usual food was of a very high standard & i can recommend the vanilla milk shake. The delivery driver handed me the shake followed by my food personally & as i am disabled plenty of door was given for me to get to the door. Can’t fault anything

Getting fed up of items being missed from delivery. None of my drinks arrived. I didn’t even bother calling up because I know that would just waste more of my time. How hard is it to bag items that have been ordered. Does it take a genius.

This is my regular takeout. Food is great, if any problems always get solved. Always serve quickly. Nice options for a vegetarian. Shout out to rich and Nina!

I placed my order at 18.09 and recieved at 20:00, I had to ring twice to find out where my food was. I then recieved a message on just eat stating how was my food and that has been delivered. I got told at 19:30 that it was on its way. I only leave 10 min journey in a car so I could not understand how it nearly took 2 hrs from ordering to receiving my order. When the delivery driver did arrive with the food the food was luke warm. Not happy

The best fish and chip shop around. I have never eaten fish and chips as good as this even at the sea side. It is so fresh and would eat it every day if I could. You must try it as you will not be disappointed!

In theory, I was delivered what I ordered, except in a completely different orientation. Cod Dog enforced ordering cheese, which was put along with the chili on the chips, which I had ordered curry sauce to eat with, I was not exactly satisfied.

I can honestly say i have nec had a bad meal from here & servoice always excellent

This place is the best! Authentic and true to the core. These are proper chips and cod (all fish available) just like I remember. Staff is unbelievable. If you are in Chelmsford, definitely come here to eat!

Best chip shop in chelmsford! Staff so friendly and the food is 10/10! Lunch time wrap or sandwich with chips for a fiver! Amazing prices and all round great chip shop i spend most lunchtimes chatting with the staff as they make my usual just how i like it without having to ask what i want as they already know:)

Gerkin was missing. Requested a refund. Otherwise food was very nice.

Delivery man complained that in future we will have to go down and collect the food from the entrance door. We have various deliveries and this has never been mentioned from other restaurants etc. shame as I liked Robinsons but will go elsewhere now.

When food was ordered it said it would be here within 30 -45mins, ended up arriving nearly 2 hours later!! Chased up the order after an hour of waiting with the restaurant who said it was next 2 come out, another 20 mins later still not here (we are a 5 min drive from them) to be told it still hadn’t left and had no idea on when it would be here saying their driver ‘was a little slow’ eventually turned up another 25mins later!! Completely unacceptable, chips were rock solid so we couldn’t eat m

Ordered a meal for the family to be delivered. As one item on the order was out of stock they automatically cancelled the order and notified me by email. Of course like most people I don't constantly check my email, especially at the weekend, so didn't realise the order has been cancelled until I called up wondering where our food was. Why not just make out of stock dishes unavailable on the website or call people to see whether they would be happy ordering something else. I won't order from here again. Staff were not even apologetic.

Popped in for medium cod and chips, cooked fresh cod in front of me, friendly young team. Superb. Very well done 👏🏼
