Robin Hood Pub in Mansfield

Maybe we came at a bad time. Place was empty at 6 pm. The fish was cooked from frozen and was not great. My son had the big breakfast and sausages looked a bit cheap. I had huntsman chicken which was ok but not great. Chairs were wooden and uncomfortable. Suggest they invest in cushions at least, maybe some soft music. Sorry.

Staying at Sherwood Pines and thought we would try the Robin Hood for Dinner. Lovely food, reasonable priced and only a 5 minute drive. Would definitely reccomend.

We called and reserved a table for 7 people and a baby, the staff were very nice on the phone and when 3 people couldn’t make it from our group the staff were understanding and still treated us very well. Our waitress, sadly didn’t catch her name, was perfect. She was nice and took really good care of us from start to finish! The food was really good, compliments to the chef, and the price was reasonable! Will definitely come again, highly recommend this small but brilliant place.

Popped in for lunch I had gammon friend had chicken both dry horrible felt like they had been warmed from day before plus pub was freezing

Called in on off chance having been here about 8 years ago and really enjoyed it . The meat was nicely cooked but a very small portion .The vegetables however ….all of them,tasted like they had been cooked, and then left under the lights for a long time .we were asked how we had enjoyed our meal and I said as described …….there was no come back so we left never to return .

Popped in for lunch after visiting Sherwood Forest, had an all day breakfast, they have just got a new chef and the food was well cooked and delicious. The landlord was very friendly and made us feel welcome. It was quiet when we visited which is a shame, as the old adage goes “use it or lose it”!!

Food looks like it came straight out of freezer and straight to the oven. The steak and ale pie was okay although the veggies were boiled from frozen so they were a but soggy and tasteless. The fish and chips was okay. Chips were slightly over cooked. The cottage pie was good. All in all a pleasant experience but I’m afraid I wouldn’t come back if I was in the area again. The old gentleman who served us was polite though and friendly.

Went for our Christmas party 16 of us and the last time we went when they were doing the eat out to help out it was very nice but sorry to say I didn't like it very much.i had black and blue burger and there was hardly any Stilton on at all,small French fries and I should have had coleslaw but that wasn't on and I didn't realise until when I looked back at the menu later.some others hadn't had coleslaw either and when I went to pay and mentioned it he sarcastically said you should have said 3 hours ago,rude.they also hadn't got some popular items in stock either.the chips looked overdone on others plates too.it felt an expensive meal which was just very average,robin hood you really need to up your game as this could be a fab pub.

First time visiting here for a few years and we were so disappointed. Sunday carvery we were told was very good so we thought we would have a change from our usual (Maypole at Wellow) The meat although well cooked was almost nonexistent, three tiny skinny slices. Lumpy mash was awful Roast parsnips were disgusting, rock hard and tasteless Sweet corn and peas ? Who does this outside of school? Gravy was like water, and tasteless Cabbage was well undercooked, and tasteless. Some kind of an attempt at an onion/leek sauce which was awful, watery and tasteless. They ran out of trays for service and the “chef” asked the waitress to collect some, which she did, then “chef” proceeded to serve plated “food” on said trays without washing or even wiping them ! With so many alternatives locally the Robin needs to raise its game, we definitely won’t be back. The Maypole, The Alders, Rose Cottage, Launays and the Bistro to name a Few are miles ahead, miles and miles.

The Robin Hood was pretty quite this lunchtime, 3 adults 2 kids. The service was very good (Leesha) and the food was great. Burgers/Chicken Burger. We will call again.

We love RobinHood went up for Sunday Carvery which was excellent staff lovely nice atmosphere we will return later for The Band.Always a pleasant atmosphere!

Went to have a meal this Sunday not knowing they were doing carvery only the 1st one since covid and they got it so wrong the food wasn't bad but they just ran out of everything no Yorkshire pud 20 minute wait then no roast potatoes then the mash all a good 20 min wait then to top it off no gravy another 10 minute wait no mint sauce our food was so cold by the time we got it back to the table and at almost £11 per head this wasn't acceptable and no other menu on offer just very poor.

We were recommended this pub by someone we met at out campsite, we really enjoyed it here, I had the hunters chicken, my husband had the fish and chips, my son had a kids pizza and chips, my daughter had the cheesy pasta but she didn't like it so we ordered her some chips instead which they kindly didn't charge us for. We were served by Maisie who was very welcoming, polite and very helpful. Next time we come to the area we will visit again ❤️ Thank you x

Stopped over with motorhome for the night. Free to stay. Don't have to buy food but polite to do so. Leesha did a great job looking after us. Food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Will definitely stay over again. Family and dog friendly. We'll done the robin hood.

Popped here on a whim after a last minute family trip to Sherwood Forest. Made a snap judgement and almost left based on the half empty car park and strange taps in the toilets (which really could do with sorting out). I’m so very glad we stayed. What an absolute gem of a place. Lovely friendly staff, especially the guy at the bar and Mandy, our waitress. We could slightly tell they were a little stressed out but they were nothing but professional and gave us all the time we needed, serving us in a timely manner with a smile. And the food was brilliant. We had the carvery and not a scrap was left. Beef was slightly pink in the middle, pork perfect and the veggie sausages were very tasty. Both young children stuffed their faces. Every single thing was cooked perfectly. Hats off to the chef! Thank you all for a lovely lunch! Will happily visit again when we next pop to Sherwood.

Food is amazing, tastes as good as it looks and the service is excellent very kind definitely if you get Alice to severe you.

I'd give this place 1 star for food, only cos I can't post it with none. Booked a table for quarter past 6 (I'd asked for 6 o'clock), me, hubby and 3 kids. They advertise kids eat for £1 with every adult main. Ordered food at 25 past 6, at 7.10 hubby went and asked where our food was... Sorry, one chef left, another came on and there has been a mixup and food will be soon. 10 mins later food arrived, 1 small slice of pizza and a plate of chips for 1 child??? Other kids meals were average, as was hubby's fish and chips. I had to ask for a steak knife for my hunter's chicken!!! Ended up not eating it cos it looked dodgy. Got offered free drinks, or free kids desserts but decided to pass on that as kids needed to get to bed. Gave us kids meals for free, offered ours free as well but didn't want them to be able to say we had complained to get free food. Will DEFINITELY not be back

We decided to stop by whilst driving past so didn't have a booking but were found a table for two. The food was great, huge portion of fish and chips and well presented, staff very welcoming and we were served by Leesha who was lovely. We have been here a few times now, the afternoon tea was especially memorable as the cakes were delicious and freshly baked. Looking forward to our next visit.

Arrived in the middle of a housing estate after following the published postcode! Eventually found the pub and to be honest it looked so so from the outside. We were starving so went in anyway to find a table of 3 already sitting (they were served within 10 minutes) and a family of 8 that had ordered and were waiting for their food. We arrived at 7.02 ordered drinks straight away. At 7.10 we ordered and yet at 7.55 still no food but we had been told when booking that they needed the table back by 9pm!! The family in front of us were served at about 7.35pm. Our food eventually arrived a little after 8pm. We had read the reviews and apparentlt the burgers were amazing so my son and I ordered the classic burger with bacon and cheese. Unfortunately they were both very burnt when they arrived and we were both very disappointed at the size of them. Very small. The chips were very nice and as the kids meals were only a pound per paying adul the little one had two kids portions of bangers and mash with no questions asked. Cost us £55 for food plus drinks of 3 pints diet coke and 2 pints coors. Can't really complain at that for value.

It's hard to know where to start, with the fantastic food, or the incredible service. The staff were very welcoming as soon as the 6 of us walked in. I myself work in hospitality so I have an eye for good service, so a special mention must go to Leesha she was faultless despite seeming to be busy and always on the go. None of us could pick any fault with the food even my fussy children loved it. So a big thanks to all at the Robin Hood

Went with a good friend. My wife and myself ordered hunters chicken.The chicken was dry and over cooked. There was no BBQ sauce and just a chedder cheese.The chips came on a wooden board on top of the salad.If our friend had not been there we would have left everything. Just really poo.

Went along for tea with my two children after school. Warm welcome, great service and reasonably priced food. Will definitely pop back again soon. Thank you!

Upon arrival we were told we had to wait for our table because the pub was ‘unusually busy’ - this was the first lie. There was one male drinking a warm beer in the corner. When we were finally seated one member of staff stood over us, removed her mask and burped; this is when we should have left as it only went down hill from there. I was charged £6 for a tomato salad that was vulgar then waited 1 and half hour for a roast dinner - no veg because the kitchen had ran out. After paying the £200 we saw burp last and friends enjoying a large roast dinner with all the trimmings. Hope you enjoyed ladies.

Awful. Went for a roast as part of my hen do based on the excellent reviews we had read, to say we were disappointed is an understatement. The food took a very long time to arrive and when it did finally arrive - all came out at different times. One meal wasn’t even delivered as they had forgotten to make it. More than one meal was missing Yorkshire pudding missing and when questioned, we were told it would arrive in a few minutes - it did not. We were also told they had run out of the extra veg we had ordered and so had to pay for meals that were incomplete. Then as we left the restaurant, the staff were sat eating their food with veg and Yorkshire puddings!There was only a single slice of beef. They ran out of Heineken after serving 2 glasses as well as the wine we were drinking, after a single bottle.They knew we were coming yet appeared to not cater to our group size. Do not recommend!

We went to have a roast today, we were greeted with a burp. I was very shocked and sad when this happened as it was completely mental. 13 of us ordered food however only 12 meals could be cooked. The roasts came with no vegetables, so I personally had a slice of beef and half a potato. Kept asking for vegetables however they informed us there was no vegetables in the premises, the menu was a lie and I fell for it.

We love the food at The Robin Hood and Saturday night was Tapas Night everything was lovely it was a shame there werent more in what we ate was excellent presented well and served by the young ladies.It would be really good if there were more themed nights planned.

Very sad that a special lunch was marred by such poor service and planning for a large group. Running out of Heineken and then Pinot Grigio is ridiculous. Then running out of vegetables and Yorkshire puddings only to see the staff tucking into the same as we left. There was several repeated requests for cutlery and condiments as well as the additional vegetables ordered. A request for spoons to serve the few vegetables we did have was met with “I’ll bring them out with rest of the food which isn’t ready yet”. Visiting the area we relied on the reviews to book for a table of 13 for a hen party. Sadly they did not reflect the experience we had today. I would not recommend this pub for a Sunday lunch.

I come here with my family for a sunday roast and I'm sorry to say it was not the best. I had the the garlic mushroom starter with ciabatta. It was presented in a bowl with the creamy garlic mushroom over the caiabatta, the caiabatta was soggy as it had not been toasted.I also had the lamb dinner and it come out u a puddle.of watery gravey. Mash was cold and lumpy, cauliflower chesse was very plain not chessy one bit. We was not given and gravey jug or mint sause to go with the lamb. There was no stuffing with the pork roast and some of the veg was overly cooked. The table staff where great, was checking that we where fine and very polite. Rating food 4 out of 10 Staff 8 out of 10 Facilities I would give 4 out of 10 This place is stuck in a time warp and very dated

Amazing sunday lunch with homemade yorkshire puddings and not a frozen vegetable in sight,friendly staff and very good value,an up and comming food venue to look out for.

The food was excellent. My wife and I went for an anniversary lunch. Our server Alex, I think that was her name, was very pleasant and very helpful, constantly checking that everything was okay. They even gave us a special dessert for our anniversary. Excellent food and excellent service.

Went for the American Night which had been booked for months. Tables were nicely decorated and menu was good. No music though (we assumed this was because the night happened to clash with the footie) Ordered 3 steaks and a burger. All delicious. Two of our party had a side of ribs with the steak which they said were amazing. Although all were completely stuffed from the mains, we did have desserts. Two of us had waffle stacks (yummy), one a chocolate brownie and one banana split. All divine! The lady serving us was lovely and made us feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be going again!

Came here yesterday as we was passing, table service was a joke constantly having to ask for things! They gave us bread with no butter then when I asked for butter they put it in the microwave and it was like water! We ordered the fish board sharer for 2 people but only put 3 things each on ? The fish was absolutely disgusting the batter tasted like it had been sat for months! The prawns tasted and smelt like they had been sat in mucky dishwater! Complained about it and the waiter said a full refund but when my step mum went to pay they only tuck £10 of the bill I wasn’t there to say anything as I felt that sick I went to my car but even to only knock £10 of something what was so vile is disgusting! Even the mushroom soup for starter didn’t taste right. If I’m poorly after this I will not be happy. Learn to respect your customers please.

We had an excellent meal at lunchtime today. The food was fresh and obviously home cooked. The children’s meals were all very good. Great choice on the menu. The service was very friendly. We would definitely recommend this pub and will return if we go to Center parcs again as it is very close! Great value lovely food!

Came for a Sunday dinner , was only passing and decided to pop in for food.,It was Father’s Day and they were busy., but still managed to find me a seat for me and the hubby . We both had the roast beef and all the trimmings , I would say it’s one of the nicest roasts iv ever had , everything was fresh , tasted lovely , and it was hot , ( can’t stand Lukewarm dinners) The staff were very customer focused , friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning here again .

We visited here for the first time after seeing all the fab reviews, we weren't disappointed. Food was really lovely, all freshly cooked and presented well. Portions really good sizes! The lasagne was probably the nicest I've had outside an italian restaurant! Service was great too, Mandy was brill. Happy to help and really friendly! We'll def be back!!

Came for my aunties birthday with a party of 12. Despite the large amount of us the food was all served at the same and tasted fantastic. Waitresses were both very helpful and the food was delicious

On our way home and decided it was to late to go home and start cooking so passing the Robin Hood we decided to call. Wow what a surprise, friendly and polite welcome, nice chat with landlord and shown to a table by a nice waitress called Leesha. A very polite young lady were nothing was to much trouble.The meal was excellently presented, tasty and there was plenty of it. We will be definitely be calling again, soon.

Popped into the Robin Hood on the off chance after work. Greeted by friendly staff namely Andrea who seated us quickly and the service provided by her was professional. Food lovely and cooked nicely. Happy days.

We visited after a walk round the local forest, we sat down and ordered some drinks, some of the soft drinks were flat so had to send them back, but they were refreshed quickly, the lady in the dark hair was really helpful however the lady with the glasses on had no courtesy to our table or even spoke to us, we had our cutlery on a plate just plonked on our table no courtesy to say please hand them out yourselves, I think she needs a lot of support in terms of customer service. We ordered the steak sandwich x4 and found that it was very chewy to the point we couldn’t eat it and had to send them back, we had been told the steak had been taken off the menu and we ordered the the fish finger sandwich, that came after some of our party had finished eating, when we bit into the fish finger there wasn’t much fish and 90% batter, which was disappointing. This was the first time my family had been over to Nottinghamshire this year and we were eager to try Robin Hood for lunch but we were really disappointed and felt we didn’t enjoy the meal all together due to the complications with some of our food.

Food was absolutely amazing and the staff was lovely, only down fall is portion sizes are seriously small. The amount of mash potato given with a Sunday dinner is less than my young child has on hers. That’s the only thing that lets it down is the small portion sizes, food is very nice though but nobody wants to go for a meal and leave hungry.

Ordered four different meals between our group and everything from starters to main meals were well above pub standard , a must try you will not be disappointed !

We went as a group of mums here to wish a friend on her way with a new baby arriving soon- the staff couldn’t have been more helpful in hiding presents and getting our table all set up...The food was absolutely amazing all of us really enjoyed every mouthful so much so I am going back tomorrow with friends to try something different - the chocolate brownie pudding was scrummy too- defo worth a visit - can’t wait for more tomorrow - thank you

We have so missed coming into the pub and today was lovely Sunday Lunch was so nice I had Lamb & my Fiance had Beef so tasty little too much Gravy though on the plate staff were helpful and polite nice to see pub busy as well.We had Desert I had Choc Brownie which was presented nice, and my Fiance had Eton Mess, We are looking forward to other events happenning and booked for them. Well Done all.

That was the nicest Sunday meal out I have had in a long time. Will definitely be a regular customer. The chef is a fantastic chef and the food was very nicely cooked. The waiter Jamie couldn’t do enough for you. If you are looking for somewhere for a meal then definitely try Robin Hood well worth a trip. It was all covid safe and we felt very protected.

Came in today with the family and had the best roast I’ve had in ages the food is amazing!! The puddings were just as lovely! Staff were really friendly, food was brought out quickly. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

We booked tonight for steak night to celebrate a family birthday and really pleased that we did.The table had thoughtfully been decorated with banners and balloons for the occasion which was really appreciatedThe food was just outstanding, tasty, well presented and excellent value for money. A delicious starter ham hock with amazing homemade piccalilli syrup. The steaks were cooked to perfection with great homemade chunky chips and a trio of desserts to finish a really enjoyable eating experience. Well done to the chef.We have booked to return for the Tapas night but will be back again very soon

This was our first meal 'out' with our 2 year old since lockdown measures started lifting. We felt safe and staff were wiping down and cleaning as well as sanitizer being available.The food was amazing, I had steak and red onion jam ciabatta and my partner had the ultimate burger. The portion sizes were huge and the homemade chunky chips were really tasty. There is a good selection for vegan and vegetarian and I think I spotted gluten free as well.The staff were lovely, very friendly and were happy to help any way they could and have lots of things planned for the future.We will be back (hopefully with less rain next time)

Not many places would me speechless, however... the veggie/vegan menu! Absolutely incredible. I had the lasagna and my mrs had the PB burger. We tried each others and we couldn’t the believe the burger wasn’t meat (even asked the server) Lorraine is an asset to the company!! I’ve been in the industry for 13years and I’ve never been so happy with food and service!! If I could give more than 5* I would.

The food was lovely and big portions. Really friendly staff and they very kindly let us stay over in our motorhome. Would definitely recommend a visit

Fantastic food, ordered the Chicken and Chorizo Pasta, good portion, totally fresh and fish and chips, which was a plateful and a half, fish cooked to perfection, huge chunky chips and homemade tartar sauce, couldn't finish it. Picked a really nice day, easy to book, disappointed that we didn't hear anyone being asked to register on test and trace, or check that they have. But couldn't fault the food and the friendly service, was a great first trip out and definitely going back soon.

Amazing! We came for my mums birthday lunch. Very good service and fantastic food! Both front of house staff were very helpful and made us feel welcome.

On Saturday we arrived and after no sign of anyone for 20 minutes (signage said table service) eventually ventured inside to be told all tables reserved despite 40% tables empty. No “reserved” anywhere. Later booked for today (Sunday) originally for 6.30pm but told by the guy on the phone they shut at 8pm, I said we would make it 6pm so we didn’t need to rush our meal. He took the booking without comment. Turned up for our booked time of 6pm to be told the kitchen closed at 5.30pm. Absolutely shambolic way to run a business after having all these months to prepare for reopening.

Absolutely amazing! Atmosphere was great and staff were extremely friendly and helpful - especially Alice who made sure we had the best experience ever. Would definitely come back and have already recommended to several friends!

This was our first visit to The Robin Hood but it will certainly not be our last. It is half way between my sister`s home and mine so an ideal place to meet up. The Vegetarian Lasagne was delicious and the ciabatas were beautiful. Unfortunately had no room for pud but will make sure I do on our next visit

The food was tasty and the beer was cold! I had the ultimate burger, my wife had lasagne and our 2 year old had the chicken nuggets, was all freshly prepared and tasty. Generous portions and friendly staff.

Our first visit whilst staying in a holiday lodge down the road. We had read positive reviews on here and were not disappointed. Probably the best steak & ale pie I've eaten. My lad had fish & chips; his fish was beautiful. Both came with skin-on hand cut chips from real potatoes (not frozen meal killers). My wife had a burger with fries, also really good with a superb coleslaw.Our waitress, Kenzi, was keen to make sure we were looked after. Great service. We'll definitely be back if we're down here again. Hopefully, post-virus, the brewery will then be supplying the whole range of beers and it would be 5 Star for that too.

Visited here after our recent visit last week for a burger which we thought couldn't be beat. How wrong we were, these Sunday dinners are out of this world. Everything was so fresh, roast vegetables were delightful, the Yorkshire puddings homemade and cooked to perfection and the meat wowzers! I had gammon and my husband a mix of turkey and gammon I didn't want it to end. We will definitely be going again and the place deserves more bums on seats for sure. Only wish I had room for dessert , maybe next time.The staff are professional whilst friendly. Jordan our waitress was so lovely, a true credit 10/10A new favourite..

We visited Saturday evening as heard the food was good.It didnt disappoint and we are fussy.Its fresh, home cooked comfort food!I had steak and my husband gammon. Absolutely excellent and the meat well rested.The chips. OMG. I dont normally clear my plate but it was too good not to.The waitress Kenzie was lovely and made sure we didnt run out of drinks.We will be regulars now.I think if the pub made the dining area abit more cozy this place will be packed. This was the second time I had dined here and although I thought my first visit was terrific the food this time was even better, and Mandy the waitress completed the excellent experience. The beef steak pie was the best I have ever tasted.

Been here twice now ..the girls looked after us from the minute we walked through the door. They work so hard ..The food is beautiful had Sunday roast both times it was fabulous...The pub looks a bit dated from outside please dont let this put you off ..Highly recommend you give this place a try you wont be disappointed..

We came here on the 10th for a meal and all I can say is WOW, the staff was so nice, welcoming and bent over backwards for us (40th birthday) the food was absolutely gorgeous and as for the portions, I struggled and I can eat! The prices for the food are well deserved if not more, all fresh home cooked food, no frozen food in sight so it was so refreshing to see. I/we shall all be back. This is a place we have driven past many times but with the current issues facing local business we wanted to try it and support them a little. From the outside the pub looks more dated than some but don't be put off, when you are not getting customers and covid has impacted your income how can you invest. We had starters of garlic mushrooms, much bigger portion than expected, nice with creamy sauce, very tasty. Then fish finger sandwich and grilled chicken sandwich , both came with real cooked chips and salad, portions were very generous and we struggled to finish, the fish was battered fish and didn't taste pre frozen or watery, the chicken was good quality and thickly sliced, ciabatta soft and fresh, very nice food. The menu is small but enough choice for everyone, better a small menu than to hold a wide variety of foods which will go off if no customers are coming in at the moment. We had the mint choc cheese cake to share and it was delicious, smooth and not too sickly with crumbled mint choc aero on top, yummy.The service was good and we will definitely go again. And the prices are very reasonable, I've paid twice as much for way lesser quality. The pub is out of the way so suffers from lack of foot traffic and is dated in décor but places like this need local support to get back on their feet so give them a try.

Called yesterday for breakfast before work we walked in to no one around I had to shout for someone to appear , A young lady asked us to sign in and she showed us to a table we were the only 2 there on the table next to us we’re last nights empty glasses , maybe that was a sign that I should have walked out , I ordered the vegetarian breakfast she took our order then came back and said chef said the lorry that brought the veggie sausages didn’t have them on !! So asked if I wanted a burger !!Err no thanks I opted for a extra fried egg when it arrived it took 2 napkins to mop up all the grease it was swimming in , the hash browns had been over cooked and also very greasy as was the mushroom the beans were cold it was just awful , the toast hadn’t been no where near a toaster and my friends bacon wasn’t anywhere near cooked enough, if the person responsible for serving this up is a chef then I think your business is in trouble, £6.50 for this is a joke . Never again .

5 of us went for Sunday Lunch. Great roasts with a good choice. Everyrhing home made good choice of veg and great roast potatoes. Dessert choice limited but very good. Will definetly be going again.

I don’t like to make a habit out of complaining or leaving bad reviews as I understand the difficulties that staff and management can go through, however this morning’s visit was too poor to ignore unfortunately. Won’t go into to all issues as probably too many to list. •Missing 1 element of a medium breakfast to be told it wasn’t meant to be on there anyway (Had to point the waitress to the menu to show I was right.) •Daughter had porridge and chose golden syrup (as per the menu) what was served was definitely not this (something fruity) so opted for honey instead which was the told was out of stock. Ended up with a few chopped berries as a third option. Didn’t eat it as the porridge was then too plain •Eggs were obvs very old as the white had spread so flat. Also could tell it had been grilled from the top. Made for a very odd texture. • No hash browns were available so we were given chargrilled sliced new potatoes as a substitute???The manager was very apologetic and assured me that this wasn’t ‘the norm’ and removed one of the breakfasts and the porridge from the bill. In hindsight I should have argued at least one more meal be removed as more food was left than eaten. Unfortunately we won’t be returning, which is a real shame as the photos I had seen on Facebook showed the food to look really tasty. Too many options nowadays to have such a bad experience and still go again

Stopped for lunch before continuing a journey. The service and food were much appreciated. The home cooked chips were amazing and apparently so was the steak pie

Stopped by for a business meeting off the beaten track. Good Covid regulation which is important now days. The food was just amazing. Trio of pork was perfect for me, my colleague had pie and chips. All home made and excellent portions. Will be calling back in.

We come done from London for a weekend away and went to the Robin Hood for food on Friday, the food was amazing, so tasty and fresh, it was so good that we also went in there Saturday evening for food and booked ourselves in for Sunday lunch before heading home, staff are friendly and welcoming, even the kitchen staff popped their heads out to have a little chat, if we come back for a trip again we will definitely be going back into the Robin Hood

We phoned and made a booking for the Wednesday after the Covid Eat Out to Help Out offer had ended. The pub was very quite, just one other family. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.My son and I ordered the Rump Steaks, which as we recalled from a couple years ago when visiting the area were excellent. The Chef lived up to oir expectations, the Rump Steaks were very well selected and cooked just as requested. As a family of 5, we thoroughly enjoyed chosen meals and will definately return again when visiting the area.

Came for Sunday lunch today and hardly got any meat on the plate at all, also ordered my son chicken nuggets and chips as it states on the menu got 3 chicken nuggets with fries can obviously tell they was a bag of frozen fries, told the staff at the bar and they didn’t seem bothered what so ever, also serving food on chipped and partially broken plates.. won’t be coming back am afraid

Fantastic meal at the Robin Hood with my friend tonight before she leaves for college! Staff were amazing and the food came super quick and well presented!

we came for food on bank holiday Monday after being recommended and we will definitely be back the food was amazing, I had the burger and fries everything was freshly cooked none of those frozen fries the majority of pubs serve fresh home cooked fries, homemade burgers too My husband had the Ox pie the meat was so tender it fell apart and served with seasonal veg and chunky homemade chips and we also had a side of there onion rings was expecting just some bog standard onion rings omg boy was I wrong they were also homemade they were huge and the best onion rings ive ever had and I have had some good ones but those are amazing we will definitely be back.

I thought I would do my bit and support local business especially as this Pub had been shut for while and reopened with new management. Lots of what looked like good photos of food and what looked like good feedback We went tonight at 5pm and were the only people there and the food was probably the worst I’ve had when eating out. I didn’t send it back even though the chips and fish had been fried within an inch of its life. I paid the bill mentioning the chips were inedible and we just left and I’m afraid to say won’t be going back.

We visited the Robin Hood on sat eve and what a meal we had! It was superb! We then went back the next day for the Sunday Roast which didn’t disappoint! The staff go above and beyond for you nothing is too much trouble so friendly and polite. We will def be returning soon. Go take a look at the Robin Hood see for yourself or even book yourself a table! A hidden gem without a doubt!

2 adult 5 children food was ok the children’s meal were full of salt rest of the food was ok glad it was half price wouldn’t have been happy if we had paid nearly £100 for our meals we all had a drink every glass was dirty the staff were not friendly we went get drink from the bar the guy yeah what do you want could we order some drinks please, oh right what do you want he replied. The toilet were also disgusting we I’ll will not be eating here again but the coffee was lovely

Me and my girlfriend arrived at this premesis to have a nice drink and relax with obvious social distance measures, apart from the clear lack of face masks entirely, there was satisfactory service for an hour, after that the bar service was totally fine apart from the odd table paying for their tab. After the first hour or two, no noticeable change. After this however, despite the advertised license hours, I returned to the bar, just shortly after 11pm, as the entire staff were sat drinking alcohol and the bar was completely unattended, the owner/landlord as I was later notified, despite the licenced hours told me that there "would be no more beer" to which I responded "okay then, fair enough, then what about spirits?" to which he simply replied "no" even though the pumps had not been turned off, and also as a bartender myself I know this would not be the case. He refused me service despite the face I was completely sober, and he was serving the kitchen staff whatever they asked, and was drinking a pint of what appeared to be Fosters himself. He did not at any point whatsoever call or even shout or indicate last orders were in place, no bell was rung, no vocalisations took place, and obviously I would have not come to the bar expecting to be served if this was the case. It was 11.15pm and by his own advertisement he should have stopped serving at 11.30pm, despite this, he made no indication that he was unwilling to sell alcohol at this time. He simply refused service, I was taken aback by this and promptly left, and just as I left, he started turning the pumps off, and then and only then started breaking down the bar, something that if "last orders" would have been called, he would have started earlier, considering that the pub itself shuts at 12:30am. For food, fair enough the place isn't bad, but for bar service, it's like they have no idea how to run a pub.

We booked a few days before. This was my first time here in a long time and because of the recent reviews I was really looking forward to it (let's face it, having Sunday dinner cooked for you is brilliant). It didn't disappoint: seated quickly, staff lonely and friendly, food delicious. There was a problem with unavailability of a gf option of bread with a starter for one of us, but apologies were profuse and sincere, and the cost of the starter was taken off the bill. We said there really was no need to do this, but they insisted, hence the 5star review! It all felt very safe and very well organised. The food was absolutely gorgeous and there was plenty of it. The selection of vegetables which came out was fab too: cauli cheese, broccoli, peas and red cabbage. The meat was lovely and I have to say, the best Yorkshire puds I've ever had (sorry mum, better than yours!). All in all, a lovely time was had by us all and we'll most definitely be back!

It doesn’t seem right me giving a review like this,today I called for lunch I had a ham salad it came but no ham,it was eventually brought to my table and the ham arrived in the smallest of bowls and it was all shredded I just said I’m not coming here again.not once was I asked would I like butter for my bread or asked if would like salt pepper vinegar salad cream the waitress didn’t have a clue,in a world of her own. I went to pay on my card and I’m waiting for my receipt as I didn’t ask for one it was to late, I always thought when you pay by card you are automatically given a receipt it was when you get the government discount.i don’t think the ham salad could have been any worse CRAP it was less than basic

Went for the first time in a year. New staff.new kitchen lovely food . Good value for money meal with excellent service and friendly welcoming smiling staff Will be back

just taken the family out for tea and wasn't disappointed. The steak was incredible, the kids meals lovely and a good selection to choose from. my partner is a vegetarian and was really impressed with the selection on the menu, she had the veg linguini and said it was delicious! The puddings were beautiful aswell. could not recommend this place enough. 10/10 from us!

Had a fabulous lunch. 2 courses for £11 plus 50% off with government scheme! Garlic mushrooms were creamy and delicious. Salmon was well cooked. Fish and chips were crispy with proper tartare sauce. Lasagne was huge and so tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive. Could do with a makeover to match the lovely food. You deserve to do well guys. Shame we were only passing while on holiday or I'd be back tomorrow!

Lovely food and drink the service was excellent would highly recommend lovely location and a nice place to call for a drink after a walk!

Great service asked for something not on the menu I had seen posted on there FB page and they made it special for me and it did not disappoint. Recommend and certainly will be visiting again

Stopped by after a visit to Rufford Abbey. Boy I'm glad we did. Despite the concerns over Covid, we need not have feared. Very professional approach to safety and hygiene. As for the food....Delicious. My wife w/o both had the beef & Yorkshire with all the trimmings. The vegetable selection was great and the meat cooked perfectly and Prime cut too . We'll definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff for the warm welcome and polite efficient service.
