Robin Hood Inn in Gedling

Went here for a Saturday afternoon snack with friends. Food was excellent - all home cooked and very tasty, staff were super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our food. Not often I would leave a review for a local pub but the Robin Hood is well worth a visit - will definately return. Thank you for the lovely food and being such nice friendly people

Such a lovely atmosphere when walking in. Felt calm,relaxing and made to feel very welcome by the staff and people in the pub. Service was amazing food was just as good and the portions wow definitely left feeling stuffed. Would recommend for drinks and food as been on many occasions now.

Nice empty pub, shame you have to squeeze past the only punter blocking the entrance. Lots of nice beer mats displayed but ont one beer on pump which might not be a real ale

Visited here with friends for a game of pool .was greeted by friendly staff.the pub was really friendly so we stayed for a few more games of pool. Good selection of drinks. See you again soon.

The best fish and chips that are tasty and a great place to pop for tea . Every one so friendly. Reasonable pricing that makes it worth the repeat visits.

We held a wake for my lovely Mum today at The Robin Hood Lambley. Joanne was a pleasure to deal with and communication was so easy using private messenger via their page on Facebook. The food was really fresh and plentiful and the tea and coffee ‘thrown in’ was a lovely and very welcome touch. Our guests were all commenting how lovely it was to gather together in a ‘proper’ traditional pub with its lovely ambience. Thank you Joanne for your attentive but not intrusive service. It’s very appreciated 🤗

I called in to the Robin Hood Inn on my way home for my Dinner after a long trip and didn't want to cook. I ordered the fish, chip and musty peas. I didn't realise the portion size was worth the money. Light crispy batter on the fish and homemade chips.The staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is a problem for them. If you have not tried this nice village pub it's a must.

Robin Hood hosted a party for myself and 50 friends. Jo the landlady provided a hot and cold food buffet. There was lots of choice and it was all fresh and tasty and great value for money. The service was great and nothing was a problem. Bar staff were quick and efficient which was great as we had a large group and didn’t have to wait for drinks. The pub has a really friendly atmosphere. We will be returning again in the future. Thank you very much, Laura, The Stables.

Joanne and Paul hosted a large family gathering for us. Their catering was excellent and we received a warm welcome at their gorgeous, traditional pub. We lingered outside and soaked up the village atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The Robin Hood in Lambley is my favourite place to come in this area by far. There is a wealth of places around here to go even so far as Arnold and Lambley but nowhere else makes me feel as welcomed and I can actually enjoy conversation with the management and their family, and of course a great pint. See you Thursday for the England game!

Called in with my wife and sister in law on a miserable June afternoon. Had drinks followed by coffees. First time visit to the pub. Deffo won’t be the last. Wife loved it as they had her favourite Fever Tree Tonic to accompany her Vodka. Had a go on the card for the first goal scored in the England game against Serbia. Very pleasant hour and a half in the lovely secluded Beer Garden. Here’s to the next time.

What a fantastic lovely dinner, home made food. I had the big Yorkshire pudding with lovely mash, gravy and vedgtables. My friend had homemade chips and fish. It was delicious! The staff are lovely and I would highly recommend. LOVED IT 🥰 ♥️💯👌

Called in as we drove past wanting something to eat. The menu had a good variety to choose from and the food was cooked to order. When the food arrived it was piping hot home cooked food which tasted lovely. There was a good plateful, beautifully presented. I will definitely recommend and visit again.

This pub is traditional good pub grub. Great atmosphere when we walked in. Very attentive and welcoming staff. We stayed for some lunch which was very good. Classic pub food, homemade chips were a huge hit with everyone. The beer was well kept and refreshing. You can expect us to come back

Just had a Fish and Chips, which is apart of their fish and chip Fridays they do every 2 weeks, and it was SOOO good, the skin on the fish was delicious and the fish in general was the best I’ve had, the landlords and staff always take care of their customers and they have the best atmosphere, deffo worth every penny! And the visit!

The landlady and landlord ensured our family event ran smoothly. Food was excellent. I was particularly impressed that the chicken roast dinner was actually chicken and not processed chicken slices. A good selection of vegetables and perfect trimmings. Service was swift, especially given that we were a party of around 20 people.

Had a wake and family meal here recently. Food was fine, I enjoyed my roast dinner, veg was a bit overcooked but I appreciate large bookings (22 in this case) are difficult. The spread of cakes for the wake was really varied and there was plenty for all. The service was absolutely top notch! Communication prior to the event was also absolutely brilliant. Would recommend

I arranged my uncle's wake to be held at the Robin Hood Inn and was especially surprised on the quantity of food and the variety and a very reasonable price. The staff were very caring and understanding for the occasion. I will be recommending to other to give this village pub a shout out for any functions because you're well cared and catered for.

We frequented the Robin Hood after a local walk and we were not disappointed. They had a very good selection of wines and beers. For our meal, our table had a chicken and mushroom pie and 3x cottage pies. They were all some of the tastiest meals we've had recently and all for under a tenner each. I don't know how they do it! Staff were very friendly and accommodating (with my wife's distaste for peas) and I would heartily recommend a visit.

went there with my grandson for a small meal after school, just burger and chips which was top notch. the chips genuine hand cut chips, which i have not seen for a while, and the cheese burger had real cheese and not the normal flat squares. side salad was fresh and crisp.

Fabulous visit to the robin hood after trick or treating on Halloween. Arrived as the kitchen was about to close but happily served 8 of us with fabulous hospitality along with treats for the doggies too! Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

We live in the village and have always enjoyed visiting the Robin Hood. It’s ran by friendly, family oriented people. The Halloween party was just brilliant this year. We actually enjoyed an anniversary day, at the pub, with our kids who were thoroughly entertained by a magician, whilst adults actually managed some adult time. Food was lovely - we had the stew and tiger bread. Kids had the children’s meals, which were more than generous! Great hospitality! Lovely pub

As new locals to this beautiful village pub, we have been warmly greeted every time upon entry and the duration of our evening. We are classed as drinkers but tonight we tried the new menu, HIGHLY recommend!!!! A good selection which also caters well for vegetarians.

This is a great looking pub in a lovely village has great views and is Sun trap in the evening. I tried this place last year but was put off by an awful pint of Wainwright, the fact the Landlord was carrying baby around all night and they weren’t serving food. But wanting to like it I thought I’d try it again - sadly it looks like it has gotten worse. Walked in and the place was dead, ordered a pint of Ale (which was OK) and got chatting to a local sat at the bar. I asked why it was so quiet and he told me that a large % of the locals have been upset by the management so don’t go in anymore. They go to the newly opened pub down the road. Such a shame it could be amazing place with the right management with some good beer, a good menu and didn’t have staff smoking by the entrance. I quickly drank up and thought I’d join the locals at the pub down the road.

Having read a previous review from someone who had held their wake here, we decided to have ours here too and we weren't disappointed. The function area was perfect for our needs - small and intimate but with two separate spaces. The food laid on by the staff was fresh, tasty and plentiful. The staff were helpful and pleasant and even opened the pub an hour early for us. We weren't rushed and despite being a wake the whole experience was a good one. In addition the price was very reasonable and I would highly recommend.

Started coming back in here a few months ago when we heard they had new management we've always supported this pub so it was nice to see it reopen Lewis and Leanne are doing a fantastic job and have definitely increased the standards. Keep up...

Since Lianne and Lewis have taken over we've found a warm welcome, dog friendly, we have now made it our regular Sunday walk to come here. Relaxing atmosphere and everyone is so friendly. Highly recommended it.

Held a wake at the Robin Hood following funeral at Gedling Crematorium. Lewis and his team were wonderful; helpful, professional and unobtrusive. Would recommennd.

As most of the reviews are positive, I may have just called in when someone was having a bad day, no happy welcome from behind the bar, the guy serving was quite surly , and after giving me the hard stare eventually asked what I wanted, the girl working alongside was perfectly pleasant.

Held my dads wake here and could not ask for better. Lewis the manager was very accommodating and nothing too much trouble for him. The food he laid on was really nice, the bar staff were very efficient and helpful. The lounge bar was perfect for a private function. Would highly recommend.
