Absolutely love the fish and chips from here and the staff are so friendly

We went here after finding all the local fish and chips shops closed. It came highly recommended. It was near closing time but the owners were happy to serve us and were very friendly. The food was of good quality and freshly cooked.

Best fish and chips in the local area, always fresh, about a 15 minute wait, so best to phone your order through first, lightly battered fish is lovely and the batter is light and crispy. Family run business. Car parking limited on main road outside the shop. Expensive, but isn't everywhere these days. Chip portions are huge, plenty enough for two people.

I lost my wife recently and was having a bad day. An act of kindness by the man here lifted my spirits. Thanks again

Why do some people work in customer service roles when they quite evidently don't like customers? The staff here don't smile, don't attempt to make conversation, don't say please and thank you. They have plaques on the walls celebrating previous success in the great chippy competition but haven't had any recognition since 2019. I wonder why!

Generous portions at a very reasonable price. Lovely, light crispy batter on the fish and sausage. Only slight negative is that it’s cash only, but the food makes it worthwhile!

The curry sauce was like water. The chips were nice and the fish were average. Inside it was lovely and clean. Bit of a wait though.

went here for some scran after a long shift at UTC LEEDS but was traumatised to encounter my arch enemy josh treeman and MY BURD gwace getting some fish n chips. I rizzed her up like kai cenat and pulled that BURD back.

First time eating fish and chips from Robin Hood Fisheries. Really pleased we gave them a try. Food was hot well presented and a generous portion. Also the fish shop was spotless and staff were well presented wearing protective hats. All in all a great experience.

A great family run business. The fish is beautiful. Mine was cooked fresh to order. And had a potato scallop with it. The guys serving were very polite and courteous. And as for price. The most reasonable I've had since moving back to Yorkshire. Would I go there again. Absolutely, in fact I think I'd go out of my way to get my fish and chips in future ..

Not happy. I was met at the counter be a nice bloke named Ben Bestwick but immediately told to wait outside the shop as they were painting the place. Once they were finished I ordered a fish and some chips which were undercooked to the point of inedibility. Ever since Bossman rhys Lucas got fired it’s all gone downhill

Really nice fish and chip shop. I travel from tingley to go here. The batter is a bit thick, and a bit over salted sometimes. But still tasty. The staff are a bit quiet, but friendly enough. I would recommend.

Lovely fish and chips. The batter was too thick but apart from that very good. Service was solid but the two guys didn’t seem too happy. Everything looked very clean and well organised. Would go there again.

Came here because the two chippys in Rothwell were closed. Fish & chips we bought were medium portions but were large by our standards. I can't eat this stuff but my family enjoyed it so I can say it's good. The two guys working there were very nice and friendly, and the food is freshly cooked so there is a bit of a wait, but definitely worth it! Chips I'm told were quite crispy too which is good because most places you go they are a bit soggy and limp! A rare treat fish & chips because they are expensive but we will come back to Robin Hood Fisheries next time for sure!😋

Honestly mate it’s a mint chippy g boss man rhys Lucas served us and it was bare quick and snappy g fish was pengerz and so were the chips g absolute mint meal blud I’ll deffo be returning quicktime g

Wow, been looking for a decent chippy since my local got taken over by a chain & I think I’ve found it. I got the large fish & chips & I swear there was enough for 2 people with left overs. The batter was lovely & fluffy & nicely seasoned with salt so no need to add any, chips were good chip shop chips. Will definitely be using again.

Visited Family, just down the road from the shop. Ordered on phone and agreed a pick up time some 30 minutes later. Unwrapped and on the table, the portions were very big, ordered large fish and chips and by god, that’s exactly what you get. Fish was succulent and rivalled the Hull and East coast fish and chippies I’m used to. Definitely a 10/10! Curry appears home made and along with mushy peas, turned it all in to great takeaway. Enjoy!

After been going to this chippy a while it’s always been good u til yesterday Sat 12th March. I got fish and chips, fish butty, chip bitty and peas and curry. At 230am wow I rushed to the toilet and wow it all of a sudden came out like a AK47. I was sick 3 times and been for number 2 over 20 times in 12 hours. Both who had eaten fish have been on the toilet and in bed still at 14:30. I have no idea what’s happened but the fish shop was busy and have to be more than us who are feeling it 🤮🤬 I won’t return again or probably eat fish again

after looking at some of the reviews and been recommend a few times, so i thought i would pop in as i was up near there at lunch time, i got a lighty Battered fish butty, (no chips so can not make any such judgement on them) staff was polite and happy, shop was very clean, food was cooked on order seen as it was for a lighly battered. ok the fish was of a nice size and thickness was ample. the fish was cooked all through and nice and white and flaky un like some places where its thin and very pasty texture. down fall was the bread cake that came with it, it was them cheap type that as soon as you pick it up it starts to fall apart in your hands. and all the food drops out all over. only recommendations is buy firmer bread cakes. sorry for if you feel me been picky, but a good breadcake makes a good butty no matter whats in the thing. apart from that, yes i would re visit and get the same again but this time i'l bring my own napkin as i tried to eat mine in the car whilst out for lunch.

Got 2 lots of fish and chips they was to die for the fish it’s cooke freshly in front of you the fish it’s self it’s really good size and the portion of chips you get are more then enough,highly recommend this fish and chip shop it’s the best around

Lovely fish and chips, best on this side of Leeds. Friendly service, good portions and normal opening hours unlike what you get in Tingley. Worth the extra 5 mins in the car to get here.

Best chippy in the area by a long way. This is actually true and not ‘good for the price.’ Quality food and not over cooked cheap rubbish like every other chippy in South Leeds.

Called in by recommendation bought two special with chips pea curry £14 thought this is a chunky special and we got a plate full of uncooked batter very disappointed

I go to this fish and chip shop regularly, it is the best fish and chips I have ever had. My family also love it and the food is very reasonably priced the portion sizes are generous which is always consistent. The family that run the shop are also lovely and so friendly.

Local to me. Always great service. Value for money 💰 portion sizes are huge. All cooked fresh to order so always a slight wait but that's a small price to pay for freshly cooked food. Fish 🐟 is delicious with crispy batter. chips 🍟 are not over cooked and never greasy. Well worth a try if you want to taste fish n chips from the best voted chippie in Leeds.

Can't believe they are accepting cash only in the light of Corona virus no chip and pin .They are handling cash and then food in this troubled time when everyone should be extra careful will certainly be giving this place a miss for the time being.

I’ve visited this chip shop several times over the years. I originally stopped going before as the staff were rude. I’ve lived in Leeds for a number of years & being from the South have a southern accent. Every so often you get treated like people can’t understand you, to be honest it’s very rare and I can count on one hand when it’s happens. The exception being this place, every time I’ve been in here they make out they don’t understand me & keep looking at each other & laughing. On top of that despite the fact they have won awards the food isn’t that great. So if you want to go a shop where they think it’s ok to make fun of people that don’t have a local accent that serve average food, this is the place for you.

Fish and chips are ok although there are better and cheaper locally, but the main issue here is the slow service and uncoordinated queuing system. If it’s empty, go in, if there are other customers get ready for a disorganised, slow service. Even when you have waited and finally placed your order and paid, get ready for another potential wait. If your time is important to you, and you want quick service, go elsewhere.

Been going here for years.The best fish and chips we've ever had. We don't go anywhere else. I love it that it seves Consistently excellent food. The staff are friendly, and welcoming. They deserve the awards they have won.Highly recommended.

Best fish and chips near Rothwell. Large portions, so good value for money. Staff are very sociable and polite, and happy to converse with customers. It has won awards for the last few years (see pics). Been there 3 times, and will go again.

Food is nice, portions are generous and it’s very reasonably priced. Just never understand why you have to wait so long?!? There are two things on the menu ‘fish’ and ‘chips’, people coming in want ‘fish’ and ‘chips’, just cook ‘fish’ and ‘chips’. If it gets to 8pm and you shut at 9, ease off, fair enough, but there’s no need to wait for 10 minutes every time you go in, it’s stupid.

Portions are great and the batter is divine freshly made and extremely friendly staff, if you have to wait whilst they cook your fish please wait you will never go anywhere else again, these are definitely worth the visit even if you don’t live nearby.

A friend and I recently called in on our way home and we ordered fish and chips, this was our first visit and I will definitely be going back. The chips are of good size and the fish was white and tasty. Everything was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was welcoming. Very impressed

Mi novio y yo fuimos anoche para el té. Las porciones eran enormes para el precio (poco más de £10 por 2 pescado y patatas fritas). Sin duda podría haber compartido si nos sentíamos menos codicioso! El servicio era agradable y rápido, y el pescado era el mejor que he tenido en años. Ya que son nuevos en la zona se puede ver que nosotros siendo asiduos ahora!

One o the best "chip ole's" around these parts. Staff have always been polite, the portions..........wow! Crispy batter on fish which has always been thick n meaty chips done to a turn peas are mushy not bullets curry nicely flavoured. Worth a try.

Nos parece muy agradable con las porciones. El horario de apertura es mejor que la mayoría. Las salchichas son un poco dudosos de la cata, en numerosas ocasiones. No estoy seguro de por qué. Podían hacer con una calidad un poco mejor quizás.
