Always lovely food in the restaurant, definitely recommend any time.

Skyliner hosted my mums 80th birthday party recently and WOW , the day went perfect , the staff could not have done more for us they certainly went above and beyond to see the day ran like clockwork ,and the food was the usual excellent quality , 32 meals all out together , all piping hot and 32 empty plates after . We could not ask for more from Alvin and all his staff . Thank you so much for making mums day , a day she and all her guests will never forget . Thank you . Ps I was sat near to a friend and her husband who travelled from Filey known for fish and chips but said there is no fish shops in Filey that could compete with the fish and chips they had yesterday .. well done Skyliner ..

We had our family reunion here on Tuesday and loved every minute. The food, the service and the atmosphere were spot on.

Take away disappointment again. Can only guess it was an old fish from the side as the only one in the cabinet was still there after she’d wrapped mine. Usually order a special to avoid this (not the first time of an evening) , in future will be asking for a normal fish cooked fresh. Maybe better training for new staff to know the layout of what is to be served and what’s not ?? On a positive , good chips and fish cooked to order is nice.

Very greasy not drained properly

Disgusted when my sister and husband in their mid 70s called to sit in for a meal and asked for tomato sauce and were charged sixty pence for a small container of sauce, it should have been free, disgraceful.

Some of the best fish and chips in Leeds, and always fantastic service. We hadn’t been in a while before tonight, and we were happy to know that it’s still one of the best out there.

Get fish and chips for my kids as a weekend treat won't be going again after today wouldn't feed the fish to my dog. The picture is after I chiseled the cast iron burnt batter off. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Fish was cooked perfect,lovely golden crisp batter.The lady serving,Joe was amazing very busy, but on top of everything & very friendly.A lady to keep for your business.

My wife had gone out with friends so I was left to fend for myself. I found my way to Skyliner and I'm rather glad I did. I started with some breaded mushrooms which were nothing special but enjoyed all the same I then tried the fisherman's feast. This was made up of scampi, squid, a large filo prawn and the best haddock I've had in an awful long time. The fish was beautiful flakes of perfectly fried haddock. The food was washed down with a pint of draught lager which was fine. Service was outstanding, all provided by our own lovely Leeds ladies. The only downside was it was 8.30 ish when I left and I had eaten so much food. I should know better by now. Top fish! Went last night, was very good again!

Actually one the worst fish and chips I’ve had in a while. Ordered three times and they were supposed to be well done, it wasn’t, the fish was so greasy that I was unable to eat it all. Arguably the most important thing from the order was missing, scraps!!! Fish and chips without scraps isn’t even worth eating imho. I specifically asked for a bag of scraps enough for 5 people (phone order to be collected) but when the order arrived at home the scraps weren’t there. Might be a minor to most people, well not to us, and this is why I have reviewed as such. Won’t ever be eating from here again, no wonder they wanted payment over the phone first….

Fish had no taste at all chips too thick and scrappy fish was so thin there was no taste to it better over took not a cheap meal 2 fish and 1 bag of chip curry over £15 wont be going here again

Got fish and chips to take out very poor , fish looked like it had been warmed up even though it was cooked fresh , I’ve had fish and chips before from here but certainly gone down hill

Went for lunch on Friday, it was very busy but managed to get a table. Great friendly service from Jo (as always!). Food tasty and plenty of it. Will be back again soon.

Had fish and chips Friday afternoon with mum. We come here regularly and always enjoy the food and the service is always friendly and helpful. Jo was our waitress on Friday and has been in the past. Jo was great as usual. Service and food spot on!

Used to be the best chippy in Leeds but has gone right down hill. Not sure if they've turned the temp down on the fryers to save money or something but the last couple of times we've gone the batter has been soggy and the chips undercooked. Just had some where the potato was still raw

Absolutely lovely. I haven't been for a long time but it's still brilliant fish and chips. They were beautifully cooked by Victor and Jo served us 4 magnificently. I've been coming to Skyliner since the late 1960's. It was very good then and is still magic. Just off The Outer Ring Road from Crossgates towards Colton and Garforth. Small amount on off road and kerbside parking. Ramped slope to door. Toilets are immaculate but small. Small bar is well stocked.

Best chippy in West Yorkshire. Only place other than the coast qhere the fish can be trusted to always be fresh. Great food and great service. Light bite is big size fish chips peas/curry bread butter and drink

A delightful spot full of charm and character. The staff service was phenomenal and the food was outstanding. And the speed we were served at was impeccable. I can't recommend it enough.

EDIT: June 2024. Returned for a late Father's Day meal with Pops. Everything was absolutely perfect. Another win for The Skyliner 👍 ________________________________________ Food was absolutely delicious. Seafood Platter is to die for. Staff were friendly & although been VERY busy, they did a great job. 4 Adults + drinks, less the £80. Great value. We will return.

Called today Daughters fish was ok the batter was a bit soggy, The chips were dried out some, But the worst of it was the battered sausage, Anaemic looking at best with a mouth full of grease with each bite

Spent 23minutes in there waiting to be served by the waitress (one of three!!), no acknowledgement or nothing. Very rude staff. No pre booking and felt like that was clearly an issue. With two hungry children we couldnt wait another 23minutes….

Chips were so under cooked, fish not the best I've had, curry sauce had lumps in as though it had not been whisked. £21 something for twice, chips and curry sauce, won't be calling here again in a hurry. Staff were so good though!

Went today for lunch . Was greeted by a very friendly Jo who seated us quickly . It was 12:40 and nearly full. Ordered the senior menu for just £13.00 each . Fish , chips, bread and butter , tea and pud of the day. Jo worked hard to accommodate all the customers and deserves a mention and thankyou here. The food arrived , well presented and the fish was cooked to perfection by Victor. Will go again.

Women serving is miserable and has an attitude

Big drop in standards. Batter on fish sloppy and stuck to paper. Chips half the usual portion. Staff all school kids and not interested.Been a regular for years but wont be returning.

Have been eating here for years. It's defo one of the best fish n chips in town. I don't recognise any of the negative reviews. Portion sizes are large and haven't really changed recently. The good quality is excellent and they cater well for gluten free requirements.

Ordered take out from here, serving staff were nice however had to be shouted to the counter by a frier. Fish was delicious however chips were too thick cut and tasted a little odd. Wouldn't avoid but definitely wouldn't go out of my way to go again Had to lower my rating after looking at some of the responses to reviews on here, absolutely vile.

4 of us came for dinner on Sunday, exellent as ever i really cannot fault this place at all. Food was spot on as always, kids had 2 clean plates so that says it all! Food was cooked by Danny, 10/10! Melissa served us, realky nice lass with top customer service, nothing is too much hassle, and she is great with the kids! This is our fave chippy by far, we came all the way from Selby. Keep up the good work guys.

Gluten free fish and chips served here.

Chips are pretty decent here, but the fish isn't. The batter is hard and chewy, it's like chewing a toffee. Really poor. Batter should be light and crispy. Fish is often dry and oily..........I've given it a go a few times but won't be returning, it appears just the way they make them

Excellent place for fish n chips. Food is awesome. Its licenced if you fancy a pint, or they have Yorkshire Tea if you want a cuppa. Fabulous Gluten Free options too

Had a take away last night.couldn’t believe how small the portion was,more like a child’s the curry and peas only a small yogurt size pot,back to oceans

Gone down in quality and taste over the last couple of years. I asked for a special. When it was served it was no bigger than a regular fish. I said this to fryer but was given no reason. I walked out in disgust.

Well this was a pleasant surprise. Attended around 7pm, parked outside and was pretty busy inside. Order taken straight away and waited while order was cooked fresh. Chatty and friendly staff. Portion sizes were excellent and got plenty of scraps. Fish was thick and tasty, chips were thick and not greasy. Very tasty and enjoyable meal. Not sure how it compares locally price wise but it was very reasonable.

Excellent service from Sam, and Callum cooked the fish to perfection. We 3 travelled a long way to enjoy the food and was not disappointed. Highly recommended, friendly staff and lovely food.

Got fish n chips and a sausage to takeaway, staff were lovely and friendly. I've been here several times and it's been great, though this time round they seem to have reduced their portion sizes a lot. For a chippy, it's a bit sad to see really. The sausage wasn't your standard chunky one, it was more like a long chipolata, and the taste wasn't anything better. The fish was considerably smaller than normal too, though still nice quality. Also seemed to be less chips than normal, though slightly pale looking.

We visit the restaurant once a month for an excellent fish and chip teatime treat. The food is always of the highest quality and cooked to perfection .On the latest visit we were served by Sam and Callum who as always were friendly and welcoming as are all the staff. The best fish and chips for miles around. visit yourself and see.

What an amazing meal I experienced! I was promised the best fish and chips in yorkshire, and boy did they deliver! The food was delicious and the service by my waitresses Ella and Eva were exceptional. I can't wait to return and spread the word of the best chippy in Yorkshire!

On arriving here tonight we were greeted by such a lovely young lady called EVA she was so friendly and went above and beyond to make us very welcome x I do believe it may have been her first shift too So very well done EVA

6 of us went for a meal on Monday evening. Our party spanned 3 generations, and all had a great meal and experience at the Skyliner. Service from Sam was brilliant. She was attentive, friendly and helpful throughout, coping admirably with the chaos that we caused a bit when ordering as a larger group. Drinks were served promptly, a vast array of sauces provided, and advice given on deserts. The food was also great, with everyone being very complementary of what they'd eaten. I'd had take-out from Skyliner before, and the quality has always been excellent. It's good to see this reflected in the restaurant, with the wider range of choices all bringing something special. Apparently the fryer was Callum on the night, who's clearly a master of his craft. Whilst I could not manage a desert, the rest of the group did, with the Chocolate pudding receiving rave reviews from Granddad as being something particularly special, and the MASSIVE ice-cream sundae with squirty cream, raspberry sauce, and a wafer giving untold satisfaction to the youngest member of our group. Prices for food and drinks seemed fair. I'd happily return here to eat in, and strongly recommend it as a friendly and personable restaurant.

Went for Mother’s Day , great service from the servers Isabelle and Jodie and the food cooked my Danny was perfect. Have been many times and will continue to go.

It's always great food here. I've been going for 20+ years since we used to live locally. Now well worth the 25-mile trip. We were here for mothersDay. We had Tapas to start. Jodie looked after all 5 of us exceptionally well. Never felt rushed always attentive with drinks. Prices are fair and really good sized portions. Best to book as they were having to turn people away. There is a takeaway as well, and loads of parking. Wheelchair and pram access. Great location for the A1M. Obviously, I'll be back

First Class Service and Fish & Chips. Pleasantly Served By Sam and ably Cooked By Callum. The restaurant was clean and well decorated and . Our Only problem was parking, but that was probably caused by its popularity.

Been eating these guys fish and chips since I was a toddler and I’m 40 now. Come nearly every week with my mum. Always excellent. Same staff every week, every month, every year. Thanks to Sam who served us this week and top fryer Victor!

Had skyliner fish and chips for a number of years. It's a rare occurrence these days due to the cost of living crisis and having to make cutbacks. However the last 2 times I've had a takeaway from here I haven't enjoyed them. Bland tasting fish and tasteless chips. Batter was also soggy. Also felt the manner of the guy frying is rude, he was abrupt to his staff and a delivery guy that came into the shop. I don't understand the queuing system at all as a guy who came in and ordered after me got his food quicker despite ordering more than I did. It's a shame standards have slipped. It's low quality for an expensive price.

Loved the food, cooked by Victor,and served by the kind ,friendly Kaithlin. The fish was fresh, loved the chunkie chips. And strong, hot tea. What more could you need.

We have been going every 4-6 wks for Sunday tea time sit down for quite some time. This time there was a massive difference in the frying and service. Most definitely not up to the usual standard. If it had been my first visit, I would be disinclined to return. My fish was broken in two pieces on the plate and by the amount of grease on the plate, hadn’t been drained much. The batter didn’t coat the fish completely so the exposed areas were hard, the batter was darker than usual too. The chips had a lot of burnt particles on them. Most definitely not the usual fryer. He let the side and standards down. Disappointed- next time I will return my food.

Brilliant meal today at the Skyliner. Grandma, daughter in law and granddaughters meal out and Grandma was very happy with her lightly battered fish by Victor; very complimentary of it. We also shared a tapas between two of us and everything was cooked to perfection...
