RK Dining in Preston

Absolutely belting food. All vegetarian in case that appeals or bothers you! Great value. It was busy when we went but we managed to get a table without much fuss. My dosa was a bit limp which made me sad, but the flavours were all very good! My partner had the king thali and that was mega. Great variety! Mango lassis were delicious. An absolute hit 🤌🏻

Food was delicious though we expected the coconut chutney to be a bit fresher.

We took our relatives from India to this place considering it is quite famous. We were very disappointed with this place n the food too. I order express thali and asked for which sabzi it has, they said it is a surprise (really funny concept). then I ordered standard thali, the chapatis were like tortilla wraps, sabzi had no salt. We ordered gujarati khandvi which they heated in microwave and put before us, there was no need to reheat it. We were given samosa without chutney. We ordered a few dosas which were ok but when we wanted extra sambhar, there was no one around to serve us at least for 10 minutes. Meanwhile the dosas became already cold. I think this place is no longer good and they need to work on keeping up with the market.

Went to RK to have a thali. Since I am allergic to a few things, and taste, I asked what was going to be in the thali. The RK salesperson replied that it was up to the chef what 2 curries I got served. I said, Really!! This is simply not good enough, and not acceptable, as I need to know what will be served, particularly if I am paying for it. Hold on, even in India they tell you what's in your meal. They simply don't get it. Awful service. Still in the dark ages. We went across the road, to a south Indian place which was welcoming. I was Happy with their service and food.

Incredibly tasty food, very good value too. Try the Masala Dosa! Samosa chat also incredible. And vada pav, also you should really try the Bombay toastie. Punjabi samosas Excellent too!

Coming from someone who used to live in India, this place is hands-down the best place to go for authentic Indian cuisine in Preston. Meat-lovers will have no problem eating here as the entirely vegetarian menu is packed with flavour and texture. My favourite dish to get here is the chole with puris, but you would be hard pressed to find a bad dish here. The mango lassi and kulfi is also a favourite drink+dessert wise. The staff are kind and friendly, and are happy to advise people on recommendations and portion sizes, although they provide doggy bags so overordering is not an issue here.

Food and service are very good, but it's small congested restaurant.

The place to go in Preston for all your indian street food, chaat, namkeen, mithai cravings to be fulfilled! Always has excellent customer service. A returning regular!

We took a lot of food from your place, and it was good today, but your food is always bad. You give a little food; who gives just a potato paratha like that? Even when heated, it’s not good. You charge customers a lot for everything, and your food is really terrible.

Food is absolutely excellent, as good as anything you can get in London but a fair bit cheaper. Lots of classics anyone who has eaten south Asian food before will have had but also lots of new things to try for the more adventurous. Only down side I is they are way more popular than their small eat in section can accommodate so if you are going at peak times consider getting a take away.

Vegetarian dining at its best. Don’t be afraid to over order - Doggy Bags are available to take away anything you don’t eat. The Punjabi Samosas were just as good the next day. Such friendly surroundings to dine in - both the staff and regular customers were so welcoming.

Homemade Indian vegetarian foods, top quality and great staff, if only it was larger we would get a seat more often! 🙂

Amazing I took 2 boxes of chilli paneer to go a while back and I was amazed at how many flavoursome spices were bursting into my mouth. Now I can’t stop getting them. Beware once u try it, it’s addicting!!!

I tried their Mysore masala dosa and vada pav, both of which were quite decent and reasonably priced in Rk dining. Although the tables weren’t very clean, the service was satisfactory and welcoming. The staff even suggested a few dishes themselves, which I found quite impressive.

The paneer masala is brilliant. They have plenty of authentic ingredients and make brilliant dishes and varieties of food. 100% recommend the Hakka noodles.

Probably the best vegetarian food in Preston. Try anything, it's great. I can't drive past without going in for a samosa or something. Good to eat in for lunch or tea. Very helpful. We asked them to cater for an event and they were excellent, everybody enjoyed it.

Great place for authentic vegetarian food. Always great service too.

Disappointing experience at this so-called Gujarati restaurant! The only redeeming quality is their thali, which is decent. However, every other dish is a letdown. The dosa, pav bhaji, paratha - everything is subpar. But the biggest issue is the excessive sweetness in EVERY dish! I've never had sweet dal with dosa before, and serving sweet dal as saambhar is just wrong. It's like they're not even trying to adhere to traditional Gujarati flavors. Unless you're in the mood for a sweet and uninspired meal, I'd recommend avoiding this place. Hopefully, they'll revamp their menu and cooking style to better represent Gujarati cuisine.

Went to buy snacks. Food not have food at the restaurant. I have known this place for nearly 2 decades when it was a small place in an industrial area. Looks better, clean as always. Products are tasty as before. Made it a point to visit when I was in the local area recently.

This place is amazing! Atmosphere was very nice, with a nive, clean feeling. Cleanliness was very good. The wait time for food was reasonable, and food was on a whole other level. Staff were polite and pleasant, and they were very helpful. Definitely recommended.

I have ordered the paneer chilli role this afternoon and it was not seems like fresh enough. Additionally it was cold too.

Very pleasant experience overall. The waitress who served us was lovely, friendly and polite. She explained the menu as new customers and gave recommendation. We took her word and the Thalia ordered did not disappoint. We left full and very happy, with a bag of takeout produce they sell from their deli counter. Parking is plentiful in the rear council carpark, which is free and easily accessible.

The food is fairly spicy but the sweets are out of this world. It's worth the visit

We didn't book but were given a table in the busy restaurant straight away at lunch time. The food was delicious - had the Dosa and a starter platter, which were both excellent. They also have a bakery style shop in the other half of the restaurant, and if you visit you must buy the cakes, they are outstanding! The street outside isn't exactly picturesque, but that's not the fault of the restaurant. We were very surprised at how cheap our bill was! Give this a try for the delicious food and decent price

I asked for the food not to be heated in the notes section - and yet everything comes luke warm (and the starters soggy). Chilli bhajis were bitter inside and not appealing. Chilli paneer was bland compared to usual flavour.

The place was fully packed and we had to wait longer than expected due to unorganised service. They were not even caring about the customers waiting ;we had to take initiative to get a table all by ourselves. Food felt just on average quality with decent quantity. Can't blame much for the price we are giving... Many of their fast sellers were on 50% discount for the month of January. Maybe that brought more crowd I believe. Parking available on nearby streets.

We attended R K Dining on my birthday after a recommendation. The food and service was amazing. This is authentic Indian cuisine at its best and we loved it, especially with us being vegan. We will certainly be back. Thank you R K Dining 🙂

Delicious and loads of options for vegans

Amazing prices and portions for great food. Super student friendly and vegetarian friendly, an easy walk from campus, and really good food. I came with 3 of my friends and we ordered two of the plates to share and it worked a treat. Would definitely recommend as I will be coming back.

I normally don’t do this. I tent to ignore and not write bad reviews but because I check for reviews myself before selecting a restaurant. The food here was absolutely shocking! The Idli was rock hard, no exaggeration! The noodles was dripping in oil. I was so disappointed because I wasted 2 dishes which had to go into the bin. Very very disappointed at the quality of the food this restaurant produces. Stale food. Very unhappy!

We Had an amazing time today. We visited them when they were closing and were already done with the last order and yet they made amazing food for us. The food was so delicious it reminded me of home. Amazing hospitality. Should definitely visit if you enjoy Indian cuisine.

R K Dining in Preston offers a delightful culinary experience, serving authentic Gujarati cuisine. Their Chef's Exclusive Thali is a must-try, with a variety of flavorful dishes such as simple Gujarati Dal Rice and Roti Sabji. We also enjoyed the crispy Samosa, fresh Vadapao, spicy but delicious Mysore Masala Dosa, and the sweet and spicy Gobi Manchurian with good Indo- Chinese taste you might crave for. The lemonade was really good. The friendly staff and the homely taste of the food make R K Dining a perfect spot for a satisfying meal. They also serve good quality Gujarati snacks. Suggestions: Include a few aerated drinks such as Lemon Soda. The interior can be much better. A portion of food, such as Samosa, should be reduced. Overall, good Gujarati food and hospitality.

Our first visit to try RK Dining and we will be back. Alec our server explained the menu with such passion and we asked for his recommendations. The food was hot, tasty and authentic. Exceptional service and all the staff were extremely friendly.

I really enjoy the masala dosa from RK dining. This time however the crepe was quite hard and chewy, like it had been overcooked. This is the first time this has happened. The taste overall was good as usual though, just hope the crepe is better next time.

1 star because it won't let me give 0 star. Ordered online from RK today and it came quickly no wonder why as everything seemed as if warmed up from frozen. Chole had that stale bitter aftertaste and bhaji had a huge black lump inside it. Not recommended.

The food was good. But the service wasn't that good. No one came to check in on us. We had to go to reception to ask for the add-on. The glasses looked worn too, they should be replaced with new cutlery. Overall okay.

The BEST Indian food in the whole of England, takes you straight back to India! Everytime I come to Preston I have to go to RK Dining for my Indian street food fix, from Dahi Puri, RK Special Dosa, Khaman Dhokla, to the crispy samosas and cheese balls. Their mithai is always so soft and fresh, and the Rose Falooda is strongly recommended!! Great service as always and friendly staff. If you haven’t already tried it, try it!

Amazing find, loads of fantastic and authentic food, clear spice & allergen labelling with a huge range of vegan options, including the only vegan jalebi I have seen. Definitely worth a visit, there's no parking in front, but two easily accessible public car parks round the back.

Many thanks to Ravi for his brilliant customer service in organising excellent food delivered from Preston to our event in Lancaster well in time, despite a last minute venue and date change at our end. We were kept updated promptly through the process from ordering to delivery. Food was delivered hot, in very convenient large containers and was praised by all attendees.

Some staff are lovely and so welcoming. Shame about the food. The Mysore Dhosa is just a Dhosa filled with pav bhaji not how a Mysore Dhosa should be. I was very disappointed as I was expecting to get a taste like in India. Curries are also very oily and blend. I brought mutter paneer and the was no panner inside all I got was peas maybe you might want to rename the dish. Khaman was very tough and dry and felt like it was made last week. Corners have been cut

Wow!! Are the new owners at RK?? Food has gone downhill. Not fresh at all it looks like they have batched cooked the food and then frozen it to be defrosted and warmed up in the microwave and served to customers. The khaman taste has also changed. Feel bad for the staff as they look over worked and miserable maybe help them out and hire some more staff. Prices are ridiculous compared to the quality of the product they offer. Please take a look and change things before everyone leaves!!!
