Olive Of Sinai Fine Asian Cuisine in Preston

very bad we ordered dal tarka it was smelly we have to thrown away very disappointed. not going to order again . my money became waste.

When an 'Apna' chooses to open up a Restaurant in Preston, calling it Olive of Sinai, you hope for Middle Eastern values, namely from around the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt. What we found instead is, one of those Pakistani places that has lost not only its identity, but credibility too by catering every known dish to appease every type of customer, like one of those corner shops that tries to sell everything. I'm talking Poppadoms with Achaar (Best pair of the night), Starter Grills (soft chicken, decent Chicken Tikka and half cooked Lamb Chops), pizzas (decent), matka pizzas (no need whatsoever), Achaari Chicken (pieces of Achaar and Nigella seeds littered throughout, but still tastes mild, bland and flavourless), 1kg Charsi Lamb (no way was this authentic charsi), Chicken Lababdar (Good cheesy chicken curry), chips (decent), Chicken Parmesan (yuck). Every curry more or less tasted the same, because every curry was being prepared with the same starter base gravy. I thought restaurants had moved away from this kind of gimmick a while back. Not this place apparently. And this is the first time in many years that due to the absolute low grade food, I've had to rush to the restrooms for a full follow through, followed by a 2nd one that blasted my guts out, leaving me poorly for the next few days. Suffice to say, I will never be eating here again - 3/10 and only because the Poppadoms with Achaar was a nice and unexpected combo that had me feeling optimistic at the beginning, half way theough the meal a friend said something positive about the cheesy chicken dish and the toilets were clean enough to pollute.

Good authentic food, very friendly staff!

Tried the achari chicken and naan which was delicious, proper authentic desi curry. Sizzler box was also very good, mix of rice chips chicken and kebab. Definitely one of the better desi options in Preston. The breakfast menu is top, puri halwa and channa is excellent value for money.

Food was great, delivered on time, still got, and good portions. I will be ordering again.

This is a true real gem in the middle of Preston, It was our first time as a family with our 2yr old and 9 yr old. As soon as we got in the restaurant appeared clean, the restroom was clean. We were given a corner table next to the window, seating was very comfortable we were provided a high chair too, the restaurant was nice n warm it had a cosy atmosphere. The menu isn’t over whelming and the staff also recommend, we ordered a mixed grill starter the meat was tenderly cooked served with a side mint sauce, a lamb karai 700g enough to share with 3 ppl, the meat was tender, with naan, we ordered 2 naans and we still had one left, the salad comes separately, my 9 year old ordered the chicken noodles the spices were just right for the young ones, a dessert at the end biscoff milkshake, the service was excellent, we didn’t have to wait long, and the price is reasonable, highly recommended will be definitely going back for the food definitely is desi style which I personally love.

Just visited Sinai restaurant with family, nice interior with a friendly atmosphere. We had the mixed chicken platter for starters which consisted of 3 different types of chicken, all different and very tasty, for mains we had lamb handi and butter chicken dishes, the portion sizes were generous and the dishes were very tasty. My daughter had the double trouble gourmet burger which she enjoyed. Would recommend! The staff were attentive and friendly as well. Good experience overall. Would visit again!

We had a lovely experience here - fantastic food with lots of choices. Barely any wait time, and they really respect your privacy. Only snag was finding somewhere to park, which was a bit of a challenge! Accepted card payment on our visit. Staff verbally confirmed the food here is halal.

i went here yesterday with my family and i’m extremely disappointed. we arrived and we were hit with a 15 minute wait which i completely understood because of seating but nevertheless it was still a bit of a problem as we were all very hungry. we sat down and ordered and there was another 15 minute wait. we had been outside for a long time and needed a quick meal which didnt require half an hour from us. the kids had brought chicken nuggets which were dry and not really tasty at all. the chips were mediocre too. i had ordered the butter chicken which was genuinely awful. perhaps it was a bad day but the chicken had way too much double cream and it had basic masala. i could only eat about 4 bites along with the garlic naan being very soggy. i also ordered it as boneless but there were bones which was also a put off. my father brought a kebab which had way too much coriander and was really hard to eat. i would never go to this place again. a kebab, 0.5kg of butter chicken, two chicken nugget meals and a burger all came to £70 too. for basic, tasteless and unenjoyable food, the price is extremely unrealistic.

Lovely place to have tasty desi cuisine, wonderful staff and excellent management with brilliant leadership skills. I have tried their breakfast, variety of parathas and tasty halva puri, much more on the menu.

Visited olives today the experience was very fantastic,the staff were very good towards customer and the food which we ordered was amazing,the special drink we ordered was mango lassi and that was excellent, we enjoyed here and had a great time.

Every meal was hot and tasty m, never disappoints

Guys need to keep updated with. We had to look around for someone as we ran out of roti, but in the end, we had to get up and ask them in the kitchen. Otherwise, food was very good and people were pleasant and welcoming.

Visited 6 times and always had the best service. The food also tasted leetyubdecent all the time, but I am not a fan of thier cakes as it tastes very plain and overpriced, but thah doesn't affect thier service or the quality of the food they serve there.

Went there on the weekend. Service wasn’t great. After waiting in the foyer for about 10 minutes I had to ask to be seated after staff walked past us several times. They forgot our drinks so had to ask for them again and they took a while to get them. We also had to ask for forks. There were only 2 sets of cutlery for a party of 3. Also bear in mind, they ask if you would like poppadoms for starters but they don’t disclose that they charge you for them. Although the food was good the service really wasn’t. Very poor attention to detail.

We visited this restaurant tonight for the first and last time, and unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations. I went to the restaurant with my friends, and while I was eating, I noticed a hair in my food. I spit it out and told the waitress, who said she would inform the kitchen. When we went to pay, I mentioned the hair to the guy at the register, but he just laughed and said it was the cook's problem. There was no apology or anything, which was really disappointing!

We went to Oliver of Sinai for dinner today. A gentleman approached us with the menus and as we were about to order he said the other guy will take your order. Since the time we entered the restaurant this other guy who was supposed to take the order was continuously on a call and gave a damn about any customers coming in or going out. We left the restaurant as no one came to take our order . As we were leaving the guy who handed us the menus approached us to check why we were leaving but the other guy stopped him in a manner let them go!!! I have never seen such behaviour ever in any restaurant! Pathetic

I was looking for a good curry in Preston. This place was highly recommended by a friend. It was honestly the best curry I have ever eaten in the UK - found out later that the chef was headhunted from a 5* hotel in Lahore, Pakistan. We ordered the chicken handi, garlic naan and pilau rice. The full, deep, long-lasting flavours oozing from the chicken curry was like I've never tasted before and will never forget until the next visit. Highly recommended. Head waiter was great - attentive, knowledgeable and polite. Other staff could do with training to the same level by perhaps shadowing more experienced waiting on staff. In all, a brilliant Sat night out and look forward to the next visit!

Come for plastic stale cake (see how big the wholes are. Hollow stale cake.) and very watery/milky milkshake - you won’t regret it. The waiters will knowingly serve it. Otherwise Asian food is quite nice. Will come again for it, but definitely not the dessert.

Went with the family and I have to say it’s a nice little place, The malai boti was good but I’ve had better However the star of the show was the dynamite chicken i would highly recommended it The charsi karahi was nice I would recommend also The staff are all very welcoming and the service was very good also They found out it was my birthday so they gave a chocolate cake slice on the house which was a nice touch

Staff is very slow, had to ask for the plates don’t get them with the food or even offered to change when filled with bones like you would in any other decent restaurant. There was this guy with little pony kept disturbing us with little comments during the food wasn’t nice experience with family to top it off he charged us £6.95 extra for something that wasn’t on the order and also double (1KG) Lamb when we only ordered and was served 700G realised after we left. Food wise garlic nan and lamb on the bone is better than any other Asian place in Preston chicken was standard and starters mix grill was not that nice and Malai boti did not look or taste anything like proper Malai boti at all.

Agree with UA was there yesterday the same happened to me they added a starter dynamite chicken we did not order but refused to take it back and said it’s fine have it but charged us for it and kept saying throughout the meal oh its nice isn’t it!! The cheeeek!!!! Why can’t they just order what you ask for Edited to reply to management of Olive of Sinai- rather than apologise you lied we did not ask to keep the dynamite chicken we told you to remove it from the table but were forced to try it as we did not know what it was and wasn’t bothered to keep it as we had plenty of food. We were asked numerous time for feedback and yes it was nice which you cheekily said i can now add it on the bill which is a joke! Thought i correct you because you made it out as though i was lying im being honest i have no reason to lie.

Would never go again! Be aware!!! They scam people… put extra food on order, pretend it was a mistake on their end and that you can try it on the house but then add it to the bill.

Pilau rice was tasty Tarka dal was awful- uncooked lentils, too much salt and way too many huge chunks of chilli Chicken masala was sickenly sweet Couldn't tell the difference between butter naan and roiti - there was no butter anywhere Onion bajhi was alright but because it was put on top of the salad; the underneath was soggy and so was the salad very disappointed

Awesome food, highly recommended save didn't disappoint. Everything freshly made and very tasty. My new favourite place for curries, cheese naan (best I've had), lamb chops and pakoras. Been again an again.

Olive of Senai offers a nicely decorated ambiance with generally good food. Standout dishes include the lamb curry, chicken dynamite, and mixed grill, though the prawn dynamite wasn't up to par. Fresh, hot chips were a plus. They also have a very convenient prayer room. Staff were very hospitable and accommodating. If i could suggest you change cutlery, the glasses appeared to be dirty (lots of scratches) and the plates had a weird design which made them seem dirty.

We ordered chiken tikka platter (three coloured chicken ) and lamb karahi with bone and tandoori roti as we are having festival. Platter was really worse and tasteless and even not properly packed. Very disappointed. I will never recomment. Worse experience. Lamb was okay.

Slightly late delivery, that's not the issue - but a biryani delivered without a veg. sauce was a dry, dry dish. Disappointed.

This is by far one of best restaurants in Preston. We have dined here a few times now and have had a great experience each time. The chicken chargha karahi is a must try. Very happy with the level of service too. Thanks team Olive!

Quick service for food and amazing taste

Large table booked took nearly 1 and half hour for food to arrive...we wasn't told this would be the case..ordered drinks never arrived and when food arrived received chicken tikka when I specified l wanted vegetarian 😑 wouldn't visit again ruined the experience
