Visited here today for my 50th birthday with family the food and service was outstanding definitely be back thanks so much

Fabulous menu for Bottomless Brunch, great place and would recommend a visit. I chose £30 deal, which was branded spirits and a very nice prosecco, with 2 tapas and a side.

Went to river view as an adult family of 4 - nothing was too much trouble - Davey was so welcoming and accommodating felt at home, he is what a head of house should be !!! Value for money was outstanding - we ordered tapas, cheese and meat board and a flatbread with drinks (lots of) bill was /£30 per head ! Unbelievable ! Quality of food was good we will be back

The Riverview is a smart bar/restaurant close to the River Tyne. Food is good apparently but we were there for a quiz upstairs. Staff are welcoming and good choice of drinks. Unfortunately soft drinks are expensive in our opinion but this can be said about many pubs. The owners supplied a platter free of treats. By the way, finished a gracious last.

Visited this lovely little spot for a post work get together. They accommodated our large group really well, we were given a table upstairs with amazing views over the river Tyne and served our drinks really quickly. We had to place a pre-order for our food, which is expected for a party our size and actually made things a lot smoother. The cocktails were amazing, the lemon drop in particular was divine! The bar man even knocked up non-alcoholic versions for the designated drivers. The food was spot on, I opted for a few items from the tapas menu, which were amazing and really good value for money. The staff were great, all super attentive and friendly. We had a fantastic night, I absolutely recommend giving them a visit.

Popped in for Sunday lunch, first visit. It was really busy but managed to get seats upstairs at the high table overlooking the river - hence the river view! Roast chicken dinner was faultless, huge chicken breast, extra gravy was brought on request. Forced ourselves to share the toffee and apple crumble, which was to die for. Staff were great. Would definitely recommend and will be going again.

Visited today for Sunday lunch, service was very good and the Sunday lunch was plentiful and tasty although the roasties were a little under done. Reasonable priced and welcoming.

Just had a fabulous Sunday Lunch with the Family at this Restaurant. The meal and the service was faultless. Thankyou.

Weirdest booking system ever! Wanted to book for this Sunday as stopped going after being barked at by the sane staff member each time we went in "have you booked" I asked for a table for two upstairs. I was told couldn't guarantee a table upstairs. Then I said we used to come regularly and sit in the window. I was told I didn't need to book for that. Well explain that to your member of staff who literally shouts "HAVE YOU BOOKED"! If I wanted to sit with lots of dogs downstairs I would but I don't! We won't be returning

Food and service were absolutely amazing! We had the newly launched bottomless brunch and it was brilliant - would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back!

The food here is amazing served by the lovely hard working Natalie who was very friendly excellent customer service from her. All the meals looked amazing we had Kiev pizza burger and chicken scottie cheese garlic bread and onion rings. Far too much food but it was like being a kid in s sweet shop. All lush will be back.

We went here yesterday at 4pm ( Thursday 6th July) for the first time and we were not disappointed. We expected the place to be empty but downstairs was quite full with most people eating but some only having drinks. The upstairs with the river views and balcony is only open at weekends. We had the tapas deal ( any 3 for £18 mon-fri 3-8pm ) . We chose the potted crab, the thai green curry and the chefs special of tender pork loin with chorizo together with chunky chips. The service was excellent but the food was even better, it was superb, some of the best tapas we have ever had. The portions were a good size. We also had a nice bottle of shiraz wine. Total bill for 2 people was £44 which I thought was very good value. Will definitely go back but maybe on a weekend when upstairs is open and you can have a drink on the balcony afterwards.

We often come here when visiting the Customs House for Jason Cook's Comedy club) Whilst its busy on a weekend evening , there's usually space to wait and have a drink before getting a table. (We are walk in's not booked, as our weekends are too unpredictable!!) The food is great quality , we had the Tapas this week and it was particularly good; but the service usually matches too! Good selection of drinks, including some local ales too! (Stephen? In particular is always upbeat and helpful, even when the place is heaving!)

We’ve just visited Riverview as a groups of 16 and have had a fantastic night! The food was absolutely amazing and nobody had a single complaint. It can be hard catering for large groups so expectations weren’t high but they certainly delivered. Great setting, great food and great service. Will definitely return.

I’ve visited this place a few times this year with my husband & we have always enjoyed the food espresso the Sunday dinners. I have also been with work colleagues for nights out & our group have all enjoyed not only the food but the customer service we received. I would definitely recommend this place for delicious food & drinks

We have beeb going to the quay taphouse for years going over on the ferry fot chef les's tapas! We have been to the riverside on several occasions and the food always top notch. Today was no different but im sorry but one of our favourite choices is the crab, however today for the first time it had onions in and i cudnt eat is sorry chef les 😢but i hate onions....

Warm beer - Had a pint of Madri definitely not nice. That said my wife’s coors also on draught wasn’t the best either, maybe a cooler issue. The worst part however was the clientele this pub attracts. My daughter returned from the toilet to inform me that there were 2 ladies? In the toilet doing drugs - this was a Saturday afternoon! Definitely not a place I’d recommend or visit again. The whole group Of women age range 45-65! Thinking it’s acceptable to walk off to a toilet and snort a few lines when children are present is beyond me. Oblivious bar staff - or maybe they just accept this to be the norm? Do better Riverview!

Great selection of drinks. Good real ales on cask. Tapas lunch was spot on. Friendly staff. Really enjoyed it and highly recommend

….with a friend to catch up, have a chat, soft drinks and a meal before returning to work next week. Riverview bar sits at the top of the mill dam, close to the Customs House, Shields Ferry and Shields town centre. It’s a smart pub with a steady flow of customers. Drinks were reasonable, portions of fish and chips were more than ample and more importantly, very tasty. The staff were pleasant and asked how our meals were or if we wanted more drinks. A nice venue for drinks only or drinks/meals.
