We had tried the afternoon tea on our last visit to the area and this time we ate in the restaurant. I was planning to stick to two courses but couldn't resist the desserts so had three! The food was wonderful. Couldn't fault it. And very happy to be sitting by that lovely river again. Would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant.

What a lovely lovely place to have lunch or afternoon tea! Beautiful china, tiers of sandwiches, different types of scones, cakes and cream/ jam with the teapots replaced regularly with fresh tea. Beautiful location on the river- we booked the summerhouse, so beautifully set up with china cups, saucers and plates. Already booked to go back for evening meal in the riverfront restaurant.

we booked to stay at Riverside for 3 days last weekend to attend a very special wedding. Riverside is absolutely fanstatic in every way. Our room, Riverside, was gorgeous, large, clean, comfortable with the most amazing views. Ours hosts Donna and Simon are amazing people who made is so welcome to their home. Breakfast was to die for, we have never tasted such flavoured food, fabulous. I have fallen in love with their miniature donkey, Toyser as well as their spaniels, Charlie and Chloe. An overall absolutely wonderful place to stay, cant wait to return.

Stayed for 10 days and as before most impressed not only by the quality of the rooms and food but also the owners - Simon and Donna who make you feel so welcome it’s more like staying in a lovely home. Donnas Homemade bread each morning is absolutely top class. Regrettably was unable to sample her cakes due dietary reasons but am sure they are equally superb. The scenery is amazing both from the rooms and the dining room. Cannot wait to stay there In the summer next year as both my previous stays were in the spring and autumn. All in all top marks and I will definitely be back.

Four of us booked in for a traditional afternoon tea. The sandwiches were tasty and our vegetarian friend well catered for. Scones were freshly baked albeit modest in size. Cakes were interesting and we were given a "doggy bag" to take away the one cake we had not consumed. The downside was service which, as is recognised, can make or break the meal. We waited over 30 minutes after arrival for the scones to be delivered - no explanation offered although we later learned they were cooked fresh. Two of us wanted coffee which was served in cups - both first and refills were served in a cup and saucer with coffee slopped in the saucer - no apology and no attempt to mop up. Why not a cafetiere? My wife asked twice for extra hot water for tea it never arrived. Sensing these lapses were not the standard the establishment aimed for I emailed them form the link on their website seeking their comment. 3 weeks on they have not responded which, to me, demonstrates a bewildering lack of concern.

Three adults, plus dog, visited for afternoon tea. We were greeted by Simon with the biggest welcoming smile. Unfortunately for Donna, my mother suffers from various allergies so, our requirements were quite specific - Donna met each and everyone of them. The food was delicious, a selection of finger sandwiches, dainty cakes, warm scones accompanied by thick clotted cream and what I believe was home made jam. The tea was lovely, my husband had coffee which was eaqually as nice. All served on elegant fine bone china, just as it should be. Simon was very attentive but not invasive, he even bought out a bowl of water for our dog. Would we visit again - ABSOLUTELY!

Wow is all I can say at first, this is an amazing place, warm friendly hosts who welcome you with almost open arms, Add to that the rustic charm of friendly farm animals greeting you at the gate *donkey, geese, goats' then right down on the waterfront there is a gorgeous little summer house where afternoon tea can be taken in beautiful china cups and saucers of course! You can admire the baby ducklings swimming with 'mum'. or if you prefer to sit at one of the many outside tables with comfortable seating or if you prefer to dine inside then there is the tea room, Plenty of choice on the menu all cooked fresh and home baked, can I recommend the soup and the quiche especially! all served with salad/crisps and id you fancy something that isnt on the menu I am sure the hosts would be happy to put something together for you. I have visited twice now and took my elderly parents on the last visit at the weekend and now they are hooked! Despite us turning up just before the closing time the hostess was so welcoming and didnt once alert us to the fact we were late, she was more than happy to see us, the charm has worked its magic and Dad is thinking of booking his Birthday party there as he was so impressed. My only downside to this place is the noise from the traffic on the busy road behind but if you dine further down the garden /patio area or down in the summer house then it shouldnt be a problem. If like myself its not just about the good food but the ambiance of the place then you will NOT be disappointed, I intend to visit this establishment regularly now and recommend it wholeheartedly as a Gem down by the river,Perfect for afternoon tea or high tea. The hosts also own a holiday rental house next door called Riverside cottage and they also offer luxury packages such as relaxation massage with meal included or sparkling wines to add a little bit of fizz to a tea with a difference, great place for a girly pamper afternoon or a romantic rendezvous, try it, you will not be disappointed. The hosts have an article in a top glossy magazine where their story is told on how they came to be the owners of the tea rooms, its a lovely story and one which a lot can relate to.

Lovely surroundings with efficient and friendly staff. Food was delicious and well cooked although portion of calamari starter was a little small in comparison to 3 large ravioli. Love to have lingered longer but had a bus to catch which we only just managed! Will definitely return when we’re in the area again. Good value for money considering the food and service quality.

We visited for afternoon tea - booked as a gift for our wedding anniversary. Every single piece of the afternoon tea was delicious - and we were so full we had to take some home! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Visited this lovely pub 4 times since being on holiday in the area! Great pub food and atmosphere!! Would highly recommend 10 out of 10 for service 😊
