Pudding come cold and dinner came just warm, had to warm everything up in microwave

Worst burger I've ever had. Stale bun and strangely chewy meat. Chips were also awful which is really hard to get wrong. The staff seemed angry that we hadn't pre-booked. Very run-down interior and toilets. The only positive thing about the visit was that the hand dryers in the toilets are powerful.

massive portion size, two pots of gravy and nice assortment of food. staff are lovely, rang for mint and apple and they added it no issues. Great service. thank you

I didn't get any cutlery. I don't think I've ever ordered a takeaway to anywhere other than a hotel or a home I'd just moved into before I'd had chance to unpack my own kitchen equipment so this seems a colossal oversight to me. Food was brilliant.

Great for small children. Indoor play area. Busy and rather noisy but that's what you get with kids. Great carvery and good prices. Famous for the size of the cake portion.

This was a family trip and we didn’t eat any where else the whole weekend. Everything was so tasty and the puddings were next level!

Today I ordered the Bacon and egg roll as the day before I had the breakfast buffet, which was great, but today I settled for something lighter. The roll it's self was nice a filled with bacon, highly recommend it.

The breakfast buffet was great value and every bit as tasty as it looked! The service we recieved from Paul was incredible and beyond expectation!

We called here after the theatre. Four of us all had the carvery. Meat was well cooked and such a variety of potatoes and vegetables, and an extra dish of cheese & onion, made by chef Adam. Absolutely delicious and staff were helpful in carrying our plates to the table. Excellent service from Jo and Ash. Also the young lad called Joe, who came to clear our table was very pleasant and talkative. We will definitely be coming again.

This place is defo one of my favourites the staff are very friendly and polite and Paul can never do enough for you will definitely visit again ps food was amazing too

Really bad mushrooms not even cut jst tinned food, also got the vegetarian and for the sausages they had jst mashed stuffing into sausage shapes

Food was good but an item (coleslaw) was missing from the chicken medley. Disappointing.

I used to work opposite this pub for 2 years. They do the best cake ever. Huge portions and can take away with you if preferable.

My order came and the waiter didn’t clarify if it was the vegan one but was very tasty. I walked in and was greeted by the smell of familiar farmhouse Inns (the franchise brand), the smell was not one that you’d want your home to smell of, in my opinion. I ordered the standard carvery on a Saturday. The meats were rather dry without the addition of the onion gravy. I would have wanted more onions. The accompanying vegetables were quite tasty. The skin of the roast potatoes was quite tough, it made me have to chew it for a while. This dismayed me. The staff served me my pint of Birra Moretti from the bar with a glass that was dripping with beer. I had to hold it away from me to not wet myself. On the topic of parsnips, the outer most segment of the “snip” was delicious and tender. However, the inner most segment - the core if you will - was uncooked and frankly uncouth. Nevertheless, I recommend these semi-delights for the emotional rollercoaster of going from deliciousness to dismay. Location is special, in an industrial area where you’d rather expect brothels than this lovely establishment. I recommend every wandering traveller who finds themselves at a stopping point while traversing the Trent

Nice place first time here for a long while sad that no blue light card on a Sunday good job i would still offer my services on a Sunday. Lovley mixed grill but forgot my egg.....

Not a bad visit, except for the fact the the lady serving the food was a bit abrupt. I only asked for the gravy pot to be swapped for the peppercorn sauce but was told no you should have ordered it when planning the order. It was my son's 18th birthday and it was his sauce for his meal. Quite disappointed that for something quite easy to do just couldn't be taken care of. Other than that it was okay.

I came in for the unlimited breakfast on Sunday morning and the food was really nice, can't go wrong for the price, I would definitely recommend. Paul behind the bar(think he was the manager) was friendly and helpful so was the female staff member(didn't get her name) they both was welcoming and I'll definitely be returning this Sunday. This was our first visit here, we came in the door from the road (not the car park) found a table and went to sit down, a lady approached us asking if we were sitting ourselves, I said yes, she told us there was a sign saying, "wait to be seated" I laughed and said we'd not seen it, she was so rude making it clear the sign was there, I didn't say it wasn't, I just said we'd not seen it, then she instructed a young lad to sit us somewhere she'd chosen. The other staff we encountered were lovely, the bar and restaurant was lovely and clean, the carvery was ok, lots of things to choose from.

Lovely pub. Popped in for dinner; my companions had carvery, and I was a little regretful that I had not done the same as it looked amazing. However, when my order of the Yorkshire pudding wrap arrived, I no longer felt any regret whatsoever. Food was delicious, staff friendly and service swift. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!

Went for a late afternoon carvery, not too busy for 4pm. Just sat down to eat & daughter felt faint & almost collapsed. Asked for first aider & the manager came to help. He was attentive, took my daughter & myself to the cellar so she could cool down & rest away from the pub area. He got her some chocolate to boost her sugar levels, then took us to a new table that was in a cooler area of the pub & a bit quieter. Also made sure that we were able to get fresh plates at the carvery. Couldn’t fault the service & the help of the manager Paul. Food was also lovely once we had chance to eat it! Many thanks

Manager & one member of staff had bad attitude when questioned about being over charged, everything seems to be an inconvenience to them when asked about anything even more so after they had been proven wrong about what they had charged me, it totally spoiled the experience & when talking to other customers next to our table it seems we were not the only ones the manager had attitude with, not be returning in a hurry

Very busy, went on a Sunday for carvery. Food good and plenty of vegetables to help yourself to. Beer and soft drinks a expensive

Carvery was okay, had to wait a while to be served though and had to ask. There are 2 different menus in the pub with different prices on, perhaps the old ones should be disposed of. Just given soft drinks, not offered ice or lemon.

Great Assistant Managers and floor staff excellent customer services always made welcome, even asked if I had any allergies, nice not to hear staff moaning all smiles. Food spot on especially the cakes and ice cream

If you want a cold carvery/buffet, with very slow service. Brownie desserts with no brownies. Drinks that come out when you've finished your food ,this is the place to come! Absolutely awful.

Deep fried everything and the blandest steak ever and all for £60? Staff were very apologetic and gave us free drinks and cakes

If I could give zero stars I would. Staff are helpful, but overrun. Carvery on Sunday at 6pm was (we left at quarter past) awful. Unsure if the timings were incorrect, most food was old, or fresh out of big tub… Gravy was absolutely appalling, doesn’t help it went over everything.. Also no peas on a carvery? What is this blasphemy? A waste of money!

Food was cold there was no Yorkshire pudding stuffing and gravy it went in the bin will not be ordering from here again I think in the last few months not been happy with the food from here so definitely will not be eating from Riverside again

Disgusting service, was told they were no tables when they loads of them uncleared. In a nutshell, an absolute disgrace. Proper rude bar maid aswell. Would have given a 0 if possible.

Cakes where missing from the order, the main reason we ordered was for the cake.

I looked online for where the best carvery is in Nottingham, and this name came up several times. I was excited to try it out, especially for my husband who had not been to a carvery before. The food itself was very good. I got the turkey, which was very moist and tender. Others around the table got the gammon and beef, and also said it was excellent. The roast potatoes were very dry and hard, but it was the end of the evening. The only downside was the service. Particularly the tea - 2 people at our table requested the pot of tea, and the teapot was not even full. 1 of them asked the teapot to be filled even more, and it still wasn't full. The amount of tea in the cup was laughable.

Well cooked meal but they advertise real ales. Utterly dreadful no real ales just a massive poster. My wife given a pale yellow syrup and called it Shiraz. But they did exchange it. Brilliant meal but come on pull your socks up and give the public a proper drink please

The whole time I was here I felt very welcomed by staff a special shout-out to Kayleigh our waitress and kaat the bartender who serviced us were both extremely friendly. The food was delicious really recommended

Excellent carvery and great service from staff. Food portions are excellent ( plenty of meat) and a variety of vegetables to choose from. The puddings were amazing. Ended up taking half home with us as we're too good to leave. Venue was spotless. Toilets were very clean

We had prebooked a table and arrived at The Riverside at 7.50pm only to find out that they were ceasing to serve main meals at 8pm. The website said they served until 10pm. However, we were informed that they were short staffed. Our guests were coming from London and hadn't arrived but were en route. I explained this to Jo, the manager, who suggested we find out what they wanted and they would delay closing the kitchen. Thanks Jo, for being so accommodating! We all managed to get a delicious carvery. And the cake was huge and delicious! Thanks again, Jo.

A good meal for a fair price. The meat and vegetables were cooked nicely and the staff were friendly. We were seated quickly and the place was reasonably clean.

Excellent carvery was had here today. Lots of meat given and veg was nicely cooked. Onion gravy was nice and normal gravy aswell. Puddings were amazing. Size was huge and had to take half home with me.

All food, carvery and main menu, is normally exceptionally good. Service is efficient and staff pleasant and helpful. I had a small grievance over menu availability on Boxing Day but this was solved, to my surprise, exceptionally quickly and I was extremely happy with the apology.

A little disappointed, it was Christmas day staff so busy and lovely, food average at best, so noisy but it was Christmas 🎄

We went there for a meal at 7pm on Saturday which was advertised as open till 11pm. on there website. We were then to be told that we are closed! Our evening plans were ruined as it was then to late to rearrange. Not a very good customer relations is it !! We'll think again before visiting.

Been here twice now and the food was great first time was a carvery second time was food off the menu. The first time the staff were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful the second time we went I had the feeling that they didn’t want to be there and couldn’t be bothered. I could also over hear the one server talking about my partner to other staff which is highly un professional. The pub its self is good with a lovely atmosphere and it was dressed up lovely for Christmas too. I just think the staff should be a little more careful with their attitude and how loud they are talking around customers.

The driver rang us to say he couldn’t find us. But he was in the wrong street. So by the time he hot to us the food was cold.

Pre-boooked table not ready and one member of staff could only say that it wasn't on the computer. Other staff much more helpful.

After eating here for many years we were astonished when we went on 23rd November at 5 pm we were told if we had not booked we could not eat as they were doing Christmas parties. There was hardly anyone in and very few tables had reserved on. So we have not been in since. We used to go every other week with my sister and brother in law .

Visited for cake and a drink. The restaurant was very busy and there were no tables available. I asked if we could sit at the bar which there were 2 tables available to use. Through our time there, there were lots of bookable tables not actually being used! We had cake and a drink, but the cake was dry and not that enjoyable.

The food was freezing and was small portions for the price compared to past orders we’ve had there before. Delivery was fast from store so don’t get why it was all so cold.

I always enjoy a good carvery, and never disappointed here, however, on this occasion, I felt the carvery wasn't quite upto their usual standard which is all I'm going say because it was very busy, so I sort of get the reason why.

Had brekkie for the first time great choice off food tea / coffee was a little disappointing, but will deffo come again. Waiteres was lovely xx

Great service, great veg at carvery with huge Yorkshire pud. I would have liked a 3rd slice of meat - I ordered standard so got just the 2 - and the sundae was a bit too sickly. Crumbles were very big and Great value for money

Came with a group the service was good but the carvery was cold and the toilets nead a good clean with one had no working lock
