Riverside Delight in Gateshead

Had been once before and it was nice. Ordered toastie instead got sandwiches which were made on thin white bread with cheese that was tasteless. Poor quality ingredients. The price list stated £2.20 for tea but charged an additional 50p for being in a pot. For nearly £6 it was very poor value. Place itself is very nice and quite quirky which I like just the food on this occasion did not match up.

Very friendly staff and a good range of cakes, snacks, drinks and ice cream. Good value and handily located not far from the Staithes and some nice local walks, so good to visit either before or after a leisurely stroll.

Wasnt very impressed; the very hot tea and coffee were over-filled in takeaway beakers. Very clear the focus is on takeaways. Cakes looked nice but pricey.

Won a kids treat box in a competition run on their Facebook page. I expected it to be good as we've had gorgeous treats from here before but this was above and beyond! Also came with ice cream and slushie but couldn't get a photo as my daughter was straight in! Best ice cream ever! The staff treat you like friends. Love this place ❤

Found this amazing shop on fb, so glad I did, amazing products at amazing prices. Extremely helpful staff who go above and beyond. Well worth a visit.

By chance came across this smashing cafe after doing a wrong turn.Food excellent. Beautiful presentation....a standard I have never come across before (and have visited numerous establishments over the years). Clearly someone who cares. A generous portion of lovely cake and two scoops of icecream with a nice pot of tea certainly cheered my day!Wish you well.Thank you.

When we arrived, the place wasn't busy - one customer was being served with a takeaway order and another small group were seated at a table. Despite this, it took over 20 minutes from us arriving to getting our food - we actually considered leaving without our food because we were getting fed up. No acknowledgements when we arrived, no conversation at the till when ordering, quite unfriendly to be honest. We both had sundaes - neither were anything to write home about, just made with cheap soft ice cream(bland) from a machine rather than the nice looking ice cream on display in the counter. We both left without finishing them. Never again.

I visited this little gem with my daughter and oh my goodness I am so pleased I did! The choice was vast and we quite simply couldn’t decide what to have! We opted for waffle with fruit and Nutella, an after eight milkshake, chocolate fudge cake and a latte. The portion sizes were huge, the service was good and we were delighted with our choices. The prices were amazing too! We will definitely be back to sample more of the menu. I would highly recommend this place!

Fantastic little spot. Plenty of parking in car park just round corner. Lovely attentive staff, fab menu of treats at decent prices. Nice and clean, cute decor what more could you ask for?!We had nachos, staff happy to exchange chilli for olives. Halloumi salad was a good portion and well cooked. Had puffstachio after which was dreamy ! Caramel egg sundae was everything you would want it to be. Thanks to the cafe for a great new treat stop!!

My children visited with friends. They all had different things and really enjoyed it. They were treated warmly.My daughter misplaced her camera during the day out I contacted the cafe and they immediately checked CCTV to confirm she had it when she left.Will definitely revisit as a family
