The Fellsider Bar and Kitchen in Gateshead

Delicious fish and chips but unfortunately the peas were colder than cold. Meal came with salad but restaurant doesn’t have salad cream?? Batter on fish was really lovely and chips were lovely although a few were under cooked. Often go to this pub always been a good meal. Tonight was very busy and quite noisy. Drop the salad.

Today for lunch with friend Margaret met owners Arron and Scott very friendly took time to chat as for the food fabulous I had black pudding my friend had prawn cocktail going back next week with my husband I can’t recommend the fellsider enough thank you for a relaxing lunch 👍🙂

I had high expectations coming here from reviews I had seen, so when my pizza arrived with jalapenos that were asked not to be on I was disappointed to say the least. I was even more disappointed when the replacement arrived and in my opinion the base dough was not cooked properly. No bottled water either which I was surprised at in the world we live in or fruit shoot option for the kids ( I nipped next door to the coop to fix these). The table next to us had issues from what I saw too. I can honestly say I will never be back in here for food again.

There were 10 of us celebrating a family birthday. We were given a nice area in the bar to ourselves, especially when they were so busy, which we appreciated. Meals were all lovely and all came out together, which is excellent when there were so many of us. Staff were fab and really friendly. Most of our party were regular visitors but it was me and my partner's first visit and I can definitely say we will be back. I would highly recommend it.

We were very excited to try this pub since seeing their new menu. Food was actually very tasty and the barman who served us was lovely. However.. food took 55 minutes to come initially and we had to send back one dish as it was so burned it was black! This then took another half an hour although we were told it was cooked fresh so thought this was reasonable. Of note this was a Friday lunchtime whilst it was very quiet. We would not return or recommend unfortunately.

We went today for a last minute roast. The food was lovely, the beef was 10/10. The service was great too, each member of staff was so friendly and made us feel really welcome. We'll be back!

Visited around 12:30 with my partner to meet his mam for lunch and a catch up. The decor inside is lovely and well looked after , appeared clean but maybe hold back on the bleach a bit, we had to move tables as it was getting to my chest a bit. Walked into a cold restaurant with not a member of staff in sight. Walked to the bar where a young lady was leaning over the bar on her phone, no “hello” or customer sever just confirmed we could sit anywhere. We then had to get up to ask for menus and after being in about 30 minutes had to get up and order at the bar. We weren’t too bother by the above until another 2 tables came in and the waitresses mannerism completely changed, greeting customers at the door, giving them menus, properly setting their tables and going over to the table to take there order. The food was alright but a bit overpriced for what you received, I had a Margherita pizza (not much veggie options) for £9.95 and it was maybe 9 inch so not very big and the service for our table was little to none simply because of what my partner was wearing and we were the youngest customers. We run a restaurant ourselves and were a little bit embarrassed and wanted to leave so we probably wouldn’t visit again but do wish the business all the best and hopefully it succeeds.

Ha a gorgeous meal at the Fellsider on Tuesday. My friend and I had the Beef Bourguignon and our partners had the Hanging Kebabs. All the dishes were very tasty. Beef that was so tender was accompanied by an excellent selection of fresh vegetables. The men were really impressed with their hanging chicken kebabs which were accompanied by a sauce of choice and homecooked chips. 3 of us also squeezed in deserts. 2 sticky toffee and 1 ginger sponge all absolutely gorgeous. Lovely friendly staff. A very pleasant bar / restaurant and the most beautiful Xmas tree made for a very pleasant get-together with friends.

Just been here for Sunday Lunch with my mam and it was absolutely fantastic. I literally can’t fault a thing, we had the three courses (only £14.95!!!) and every single one was perfect. The meat was so tender, vegetables lovely and the ginger sponge afterwards was divine. Service was fantastic and the people are lovely. Really pleased this place has started doing food and I’m only down the road. Will definitely be back and very soon. Thanks

Just enjoyed a beautiful meal at the fellsider pub..we started with the king prawns with garlic and white wine on crostini and it was delicious. For main course, We had the hanging chicken kebab which was lovely and tender with a beautiful marinade served with triple cooked chips and side salad with a garlic butter dressing 10/10 I would highly recomend it.We then had the sticky toffee pudding and I'm so glad we did as it's probably the best I've had in ages compliments to the chef...give it a try it was well worth it, we had great service from Aaron too which was very much appreciated.

Great food and service. Only negative was that there was no hand pulled ale.

Excellent value Sunday lunch 3 course menu and its clearly caught on as the place was pretty busy. Starters a bit slow. The mince and dumplings need to be improved as its far too runny but otherwise a much enjoyed afternoon with friends. Will definitely return. Seems to be more popular with the new owners.

Came today as a family of 5 with a dog as a last minute walk in. Had a Sunday lunch and it was delicious! £12.95 for two courses on a Sunday is incredibly great value for money and I cannot fault the lunch at all. They even had treats for the dog! The server who took our order was so lovely, he said they had only been there 7 weeks! Couldn’t ask for better customer service or food. We will definitely be back

Recently visited for Sunday lunch. Food was lovely and very reasonably priced. Staff were also very nice and friendly, especially Aaron and Scott. Will definitely be returning with my dogs. (As it’s dog friendly 😄)

Partners Vegetarian sandwich was tasty. Menu said it came with salad. It arrived without but when we queried they brought a side salad. Main course Caprese salad was small, a starter really. It did taste nice. Had to come back home to eat. Only 4 to 5 Vegetarian options on the menu. Staff friendly. Wine was nice

As an aussie lad I struggle a bit with the north England accent but the staff were lovely and took the time to slowly go through everything. While nothing beats a good aussie pub feed like chicken Schnitty or chicken parmi, this place also had a pretty good feed

Dog friendly, pleasant staff. Only had a pint (Moretti) but it was a good pint. Can't comment on food or atmosphere, cleanliness as i didn't use the facilities.

Poped in for quick pint of mereti couldn’t believe how bad the pint was, certainly won’t be back, the manager needs to look as himself if he thinks that’s acceptable!!

We had Sunday lunch and I'm pleased to say that it was very nice.

Went for a meal last night, restaurant just reopened with new chef...amazing food, such high quality..staff so warm, friendly and accommodating. Child friendly as well. Will definitely be going back in the future. Recommend to anyone :)

Local estate pub. Friendly and great for sport. Limited range of beers. Food looks decent but not tried it yet.

We haven’t visited the fellsider for a while since the last owners left decided to pop in for Sunday lunch, ordered at the bar I opted for the beef and other half had pie didn’t have to wait to long and it arrived at our table from a friendly waitress, didn’t look much to be honest, no mash but roast potatoes the other half had my roasties as he was still hungry,I think they forgot the mash few frozen peas few carrots and broccoli lucky I had 2 Yorkshire s small but nice and the gravy was lovely but the beef was tough as anything and chewy didn’t help with the cheap cutlery cutting it . The other half said his pie was ok we might try again as maybe they were having a off day but we honestly weren’t impressed at all.

Friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. Food is tasty and a responsible price. The quiz on a Tuesday night is one of the best around!

This pub has had its ups and downs over the years and I am delighted that it is certainly on the UP with the current landlord Jim and Gillian who have transformed this pub . A happy mixture of great food mixed with a bar atmosphere whilst serving enjoyable drinks.Plus regular musicians on a Friday / Saturday night Well done to Jim and Gillian

Popped in for a quick lunch with a couple of pals the other week, and delighted find that they do a ‘pensioners’ lunch....basically the same as main course, just a smaller portion, which is great for us older folks, whose food capacity ain’t what it used to be. My preference is the black pudding starter and then the fish dish.....but whatever you choose, I am sure you will be happy. All the public areas are spotlessly clean, which is lovely to see. And ladies, yes, the facilities do not disappoint.....and brownie point for providing paper towels as well as those awful air things !! Go and enjoy -

Just moved into the area and decided to give it a go, we were not disappointed as the food was excellent, staff are very friendly and polite, nice atmosphere and they welcomed our dog with doggy biscuits. You may have to wait a little bit for food if they are busy but atmosphere and the beer is good.( Been back again and it's still all good)

The village has a number of pubs in the village and within a half mile radius. They all have problems one way and another. We have gone back to the Fellsider because it is a comfortable inside with a nice ambience. No noise, no loud customers to infringe your comfort zone. Like both their real ales, just the right temperature arguably slightly expensive but we think all in all it is a decent location for an evening drink

Not so good, the waitress put a reserved sign on my table just as I sat down. Then explained the reservation was for 8pm! This was at 3.30pm! Her reason for doing so...she might forget! The food was ok. I had grilled chicken which was very dry and my partner had mince n dumplings which was very fatty! Pull ur socks up Jim n Gillian n have a word with staff who only want to turn tables over in 4 hours!

Four of us . myself my wife and grandson and his fiancée.greeted by friendly staff.although it was late.shown table and quickly took drinks order then Sunday lunch/dinner three of us had the beef and one the pork .meals quickly served large plates of food and separate selection of vegetables. very enjoyable all plates cleaned.grandson and fiancee had pudding which by all accounts was very good. Will definitely be going again good food and good staff

We wanted to eat before our Circus visit in Blaydon & found this lovely pub by accident. What an enjoyable meal my son ate the mince & dumpling with veg hubby ate a massive burger with chunky chips & huge onion rings. I ate scampi & chips served with mushy peas it was all very nice. We only waited about 15 minutes which was great. The staff were very friendly & helpful we will certainly visit in the future what a lovely find excellent service with a smile.

Went last Saturday for food with friends. Texas burger was delicious. Staff so helpful and friendly couldn't do enough. Singer on aswell so bonus. Definitely recommend and be back again.

Since Coachman, Luntz and Woodmans all in my area show improvements, Fellsider is slowly falling behind. Really towards the food, opened with breakfast, but just failed completely. Breakfast seemed to be warmed up bacon, sausages and coffee just is poor. Do a great fish and chips though. Anyhow this is just my opinion.

Enjoyable family meal out, value for money, tasty and great service. The menu caters for children, veggies & vegans and the desserts were also lovely. The atmosphere was warm & friendly. We'll be returning and would recommend others in the area who haven't been recently to pop in.

First time I visited it was average (a 3 rating), got a steak it was ok, nothing special but also extremely slow service. Second time, the place was dead but it still took nearly an hour for our food to arrive and then 2 out of 3 meals we ordered were incorrect (including getting beef when a veggie meal was ordered, luckily not a vegetarian in our group but the veggie option was preferred to beef) but the staff vanished and never came near us again. Will not be returning.

A large group of us went for our Christmas lunch. It was our first time there, really nice lunch, well organised. Definitely would go back.

Best in the West. Always good meats always plentiful, and tender with excellent vegetables, never had a problem and we go every Sunday because we've tried all the others. We have found this one to be the Best in the West. Well done.

Visited here with two friends on a Friday evening and ordered 3 meals, all of which were lovely (2 x scampi and chips and a pasta dish) and found that their bottles of prosecco were only £15 each on a Friday, so enjoyed a couple of bottles between us. Borderland were playing and were brilliant with the sound levels being just right. Lots of dancing to be had. A great night all round.

My great uncle organised a funeral wake here for his mother’s passing. There was about 30 of us. The pub was very nicely decorated, clean and spacious. The buffet that was put on was amazing! We all thoroughly enjoyed the food. The staff were very friendly too. Thank you :)

Had a party there after getting married abroad .. what a fabulous night. The place was busy all night Gillian and Jimmy and the staff we’re fantastic considering how busy it was and the wonderful Jonny sax were playing.. everyone loved the hog roast sandwiches.. thanks for making our night so special !

First time I’ve been in this bar for 25 years. Had lunch with family I had steak with the trimmings. Staff were great and friendly. Keep it up.

Nice atmosphere, pleasant service - but extremely expensive for a bar in a housing estate paying higher than city centre prices (most expensive bar in Whickham) - £20 for an average bottle of Prosecco and £4.20 per pint. Dearer than the Marriott Hotel! We used to be regulars, as it is only a 10 minute walk, but unfortunately we can have 3 nights out locally for the price of only one in the Fellsider (shame). Our main reason for visiting was to watch a band who we all like...

Thoroughly recommend the Fellsider for its excellent service, food and value for money. Will definitely be back soon.

Nice pub that serves lovely food in a comfortable atmosphere. No loud music which is a blessing that allows you to meet up with friends and hear the conversation. They also hold music evenings which are always well attended and free.

Food was excellent 2 steaks and a bottle of wine £25 Staff made sure we were well looked after Lots of choice on the menu Will definitely be calling again
