Great food, had classic mixed grill. Good atmosphere, clean area. Staff very friendly and service was quick aswell as good!

I visit the highwayman regularly at all different days and times and each time it's great. The staff and management are very friendly and they can't do enough to help with anything. The regulars in the bar are very friendly too I could listen to there banter all day. It's reasonable prices and the Carling pint is always a good pint.

Came up with my mother in law and family for her birthday. The food was perfect and the service exceptional. The outside looks very tired and could put some people off but once you get inside it's lovely. Staff are very friendly definitely worth a visit.

Just to say a great big thank you to the staff at the Highwayman on Saturday night. It was a fantastic private party, great food, decoration and a fun time. A lot of hard work must have gone into the preparation to deliver an excellent party atmosphere. We'll done.

Great for brunch, lunch, dinner, snack or quiet (even not so quiet) drink! Been many times, always good grub, decent prices and excellent staff service. So friendly! My partner has to be careful what she eats and asst manager Vicky so helpful and knowledgeable with allergens and menu choices. I realise it's a chain restaurant but we're not locals as not all of this chain are equal. The Highwayman is one of the best in our opinion!

This was the first pub I visited after lockdown was lifted and I was SO impressed. The team have really gone out of their way to make sure the guests are able to enjoy their visits safely whilst still maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Social distancing is very well managed within the pub and every visitor is asked to register with track and trace which I found very reassuring. The host explained the ordering process and let us know in advance about wait times and some menu items that were not available. The food was excellent and there wasn’t even a wait! Hats off to Joanne and the whole team for doing a great job during these uncertain times, I’ll definitely be back for another visit.

First visit to a pub since February as we have been very apprehensive but we came to The Highwayman not realising it would be so busy. We were a bit unsure as to whether to stay or go but Joanne greeted us and showed us hiw the tables were spaced out and the marking system she explained how we would get our food and drunks served she let us make our own decision to stay or go no pressure at all. We were very reassured and stayed and had an amazing chicken platter and fish and chips better than the chippys we waited longer than normal for our food but under current circumstances and seeing how busy the place was we had no. Issue with this. This pub is doing an amazing job and we will have no quarms about returning again.

The place was dirty along with the cutlery and glasses when you expect things to be more hygienic due to covid 19, I got a cup of tea and a coffee and the milk was off and curdled so I asked the server and so they brought us another and then gave us more milk which again was gone off so we didn't say anything as didn't want to be seen as complaining as there were little staff on duty and they were run off their feet. The chefs must have also been rushed off her feet as the fish I had was burnt and mushy, not much in stock as most meals were off (along with the milk) but all the meals we did get were burnt and couldn't be eaten but we only spent £11 so left buy it was a waste of the governments money and also our, so won't be going back anytime soon.

Ellen kindly explained with a huge smile on her face where to stand in the bar and how to get served. Service very prompt, efficient and friendly from Peter on the bar, fantastic table service from Donna when she brought everything we needed and our food. Very clean, bright, relaxing atmosphere inside and perfect well laid out sun trap on the patio where we sat and ate, not a stray leaf or piece of litter in sight. Excellent visit, felt very safe, comfortable and welcome. Will definitely be back as soon as possible, this pub sets the new standard for pub visits. Loved it!

We used to use this restaurant on a weekly bases but after a change in management we just felt like we were in the way and a nuisance to the new management. Decided to give it another go last night and the food was fare slightly over cooked on the kebab never mind but once again the management just comes across as Abrupt n rude. So I’d like to say sorry that my family and I came into your pub and got in your way spending over £100 it won’t happen again.

Thus pub never fails to provide a great night. Friendly staff, nice pub food and the quiz on a Wed is excellent.

We visit here regular. The staff are always pleased to see you even when they are rushed off their feet they just get on with it ensuring your visit is perfect everytime. Visited one evening a little while ago and we both ordered barbecue burgers, the barbecue sauce comes in small ceramic pots. But on this occasion they had tomato sauce in - on asking the staff member (smallish chap with glasses and a dark moustache) he told us their supplier had changed, and it couldn't be tomato as there was none in the kitchen. We suspected he might be having a laugh ....We went back a couple of weeks later just to check, and there was the usual barbecue sauce.We too have a good laugh about it now, every time we tell people never to go there.

Came here for a meal with a group of six, the pub was rather empty apart from another group next to us who were incredibly noisy, yelling and laughing while the floor staff were joining in, made the whole experience rather off putting. Food was mediocre. On the way out of the restaurant I noticed a staff member hiding round the outside smoking, coughing up their lungs, proceeded to projectile vomit into a nearby bush and then carried on smoking as if nothing had happened. Incredibly disgusted to think that people in that kind of condition would be near the food that I’d be eating. Definitely won’t return.

Go here quite regularly it’s a great pub. The atmosphere is great staff are always friendly and the Carling tastes amazing. Definitely recommend this pub for a bite to eat or a few pints. It also look amazing from outside the flowers are fabulous.

After being out for a lovely walk in Sunday morning we came home and decided to go out for a late dinner so we set off with our son and decided on the highwayman as not been for a while. I ordered Sunday lunch (beef) hubby had mega mixed grill and son had a burger. They were both very happy with their plates hubby 's mixed grill was a fair size but we didn't realise until later on it didn't have an egg on not sure if it was meant to but it certainly did not spoil the meal. My Sunday roast was beautiful the veg was cooked perfectly and the beef just feel apart and it seemed to have a peppery taste too it which made it even nicer if that was possible just the right amount on the plate as well. Just over £33.00 for all meals, 2 pints and a diet coke not bad at all will definately be back.

Popped in last Tuesday afternoon about 3.15 for an impromptu visit with a friend, we planned on moving on but enjoyed the fab friendly , welcoming atmosphere from manager and staff so much that we decided to stay for the rest of the evening , our families joined us later and we all had food which was absolutely beautiful. We were so relaxed enjoying ourselves that we remained there until 11pm .

Popped in for tea about 4 pm. Sat and places order. Wife had jacket with chilli,salad. I ordered chicken grilled burger,chips,salad. Only 3 other tables with people, not much food for th em.waited for nearly 20 mins, good came. Wife's was go od, for some reason I got a standard beef burger.I decided to eat it but when the waiter.came.over later.asking.If I'm I told him. The wrong.good was delivered, I decided to eat as if I had complained I would be waiting another 20 mins.for the.food I ordered so I ate it instead.. No one came over from management to apoligise, I could have had allergies with red meat, bitten into it and taken bad but they were not concerned at all of this did happen.. The logo,uniform were new so I t think new owners might have taken over,hence service. If I went again and it happens,the wrong food brought out I would complain straight away. Visited the Highwayman tonight for a meal with my wife.The place was quite busy & we were served our food within 30 mins . This was served piping hot & was very tasty. Service was second to none with very friendly staff. I would highly recommend this place for food & drinks.

Had an excellent night at the Highwayman on Sunday 5th May the staff are so friendly as this was a charity do they laid on an excellent buffet and helped raise a lot of money for a well worth charity I can well recommend this pub for a night out or to have food, the atmosphere is always excellent and the the staff really friendly and go out of there way to make you feel welcome.
