I was visiting the Riverside museum with my four-year-old son and I just wanted somewhere to sit and have a bite to eat. The staff were very helpful and friendly I got a bacon roll which was just right and a nice cup of tea. My son had some toast and butter along with some snacks from home. The view of the tall ship is really the best part of the cafe although I was pleasantly surprised to see they do serve alcohol during the lunch service. I've included pictures of the menu to help others.

Excellent little café for taking a break in this bright, fun museum. Nice simple food and good service. We had a light lunch there which was delicious and reasonably priced. Will go there again.

Very well run cafe .Exceptional service by a very together team .Tables cleared and cleaned immediately after people left .It was very busy on the Sunday we visited but our drinks are food came quickly .We didn’t feel rushed and spent an hour there .The food for a cafe like this was well prepared. My husband had the aubergine and feta salad and I had the egg and lettuce sandwich and although not gormet were good .Our one year old granddaughter had haddock goujons , chips and peas .This children’s lunch was really good .Chips excellent and the goujons so much better than fish fingers .

We’ve been twice during our stay as we love the view of the ship and river front n the cafes large glass windows. Both times we’ve had great service. The chips are nicely done and there’s no one rushing you to finish your meal.

Went in for lunch. The service was initially brusque and we were ushered to the nearest table without asking if there was a preferred one. There were others free. We ordered soup and the server acknowledged that they would return to take the order for coffee and cake. She left the menus for us. Soup delivered by another server who uplifted the menus. Having finished our soup we tried to catch a server's attention for around 5 minutes. All 3 of them were preoccupied with going round wiping table. One moment they were brusque, rushing about and the next in a world of table wiping. We left and went 500m up the Clyde to the Clydeside Distillery for coffee and cake which was of a superior quality and cheaper than the Riverside Cafe.

The worst "breakfast" in my 20 year world travels. waited 40 minutes with 6 customers in total to start. My friend had his meal and was finished while i waited 20 minutes for mine which is a big no no, a table should always have theirs together. My side of chips came and went cold in the 10 minutes my meal arrived. Was promised brown toast but got white then got told they haven't got any when my meal finally did arrive. - I wish i was joking when i say i literally had a spoonful of beans in the smallest pot that looked like a big thimble. - Chorizo sausage completely burned - Overcooked black pudding - Eggs completely frazzled and solid inside as you can see in this picture - Potato scones were stale and inedible - Square sausage burned like a british tourist in ibiza The only item/s that was passable was the thick bacon and tomatoes but i should add the plate was swimming in grease and had to use my tissues to soak some up. the only condiments you get are salt and pepper and zero sauces. At one stage there was an eastern european who looked like he came out of a stock clearance primark store with a puffy black coat, poorly dressed chap who worked there and cleared a table and smashed everything on the floor then laughed about it and someone's dog inside the cafe jumped out of his skin. Coffee was very nice on the other hand. If you dont mind animals being around your food, a clown waiter who sits down with his mates at the table, burned food then come here because hands down its the very worst and ive travelled the world nearly every week for 20 years doing this. Some advice, train your staff and watch them because its slowly killing your cafe. Good luck

Friendly spot within the museum to get a bite to eat - mainly sandwiches, soups and soft drinks. The food quality is ok, its just a nice convenient place to get something to eat while in the museum.

Managed to get the last table available and it was good to see the table being sanitised and the floor swept before we were shown to the table.we just had a couple of sarnies and a bowl of chips wit a latte to wash it down. Service was swift courteous and friendly. Food was very good but a wee bit expensive but assume it goes towards the museum

Nothing against the museum, it's a nice day out. However, I had a terrible experience in the cafe. I have food allergies and declared this before I ordered. Then another waiter came to drop off drinks and brought a glass of milk (which I had just explained my severe allergy to). Original waitress insisted I had ordered it, then found it hilarious that she had written milk and not milk allergy on her pad. (She also hadn't even written down nut allergy). They reluctantly went back to the kitchen to inform them of the allergy, all while insisting the chips would be fine because they were "gluten free" (Not helpful for a milk/nut allergy). Food eventually arrived and was nothing to write home about, but I am grateful I only ordered chips and not something even more complicated because I doubt they could have prepared anything safely. They clearly do not take allergies seriously and with that attitude it is only a matter of time before something goes wrong. I paid in cash and left the cafe, only to be chased down by a waitress (not the one who had served us) accusing me of not paying. I showed her the receipt still in my hand and she returned to the cafe, but perhaps she should check with her colleagues before making baseless accusations and shouting across the museum.

Having partly completed our tour of museum, it was time for lunch. Cafe was really busy by then but the staff went out of their way to find us 2 tables together for our party. Food was very reasonably priced, well presented and most of all, tasty.( I had fish and chips, freshly cooked fish along with frozen but decent quality chips and peas. 2 others in the party had Beefburgers and chips, both with changes to the original ingredients which were carried out and Macaroni Cheese which I was told was delicious. Had 2 babies with us and they both devoured the home made lentil soup as well) What really made the biggest difference was the staff, they couldn't do enough for not only us but all other customers as well. Really friendly and even though they were very busy, made the time to make everyone welcome, a definite bonus to the Cafe.

Located within the Riverside museum Glasgow this eaterie is expensive and you can pay upto £6 for sandwiches. I'd recommend the burger trailer outside in the carpark if your on a budget . The museum is a fantastic place but let down by this overpriced cafe .

Popped in for lunch and got the last table. We we told it would take 10/15 minutes to get our order. Had a drink while we waited for our food. Could see what a great team they were, working with a smile. The gentleman supervising was pulling his weight sweeping under tables, clearing tables and bringing drinks. When you hear so many negative comments about the hospitality industry these people were showing how it should be done. The management should be proud of them.

With our time in Glasgow for the day (down from Aberdeen by train) being constrained by the first day of Scotrail's much reduced morning and evening timetables, we were in need of a quick, light lunch. Having made this museum our first priority, it made sense to use its cafe. The menu is limited, as befits a cafe, but not so restricted as to prevent the two of us from enjoying what we had. A freshly baked scone and coffee for my wife, and a Scotch broth livened up with haggis in it for me. Both choices were delicious and good value. We were made to feel welcome. Staff were very friendly, service was quick, and the surroundings light and spacious, with a fine view of the River Clyde. Also important to us, the museum was on site: the main purpose for our Glasgow visit. So .... ideal for our purposes at the time. A restaurant meal came later that same day, by which time the museum (and its cafe) was closed. We found the museum interesting enough to keep us there for 4 hours. The cafe saved us vital time in what was a tight schedule.

Located inside the Riverside Museum, this is a sizeable cafe/restaurant with a good number of well-spaced tables. We were greeted at the door and shown to a table. The service was “Glasgow-friendly” - the way I like it - that’s polite and helpful without being in your face. The restaurant is airy, with high double-height ceilings and a great view out onto the River Clyde. The menu has a decent choice of sandwiches and a number of main courses. There are a few kids choices too. The good came pretty quickly (it was just sandwiches with a side of fries so nothing too complex) and it was ok. I was here with my son and youngest grandson. The food was £22.50 for 2 lots of sandwiches (which come with a bit of salad), one side of fries, 2 soft drinks and a Kids boxed meal (with a small sandwich, an apple, a juice and a yoghurt drink). It was probably on the high side of acceptable and would be worse if you had a larger party (though the museum actively encourages you to bring to your own food, with outside -and inside- picnic areas). I would go back.

What a lovely way to start the day. My pal and I on a bit of a big cycle around Scotland, decided to stop here on a Wednesday morning, thanks to it being recommended by our waitress the night before. We locked up our bikes and headed over to naked soup dropping our heavy backpacker bags at a table before heading in to order. 1 confit caprese bagel 1 chicken and sun-dried tomato bagel 1 curried cauliflower soup 1 roast squash soup Absolutely stunning. The soups are super smooth and soul warming. The bagels are perfect accompaniments, dipping them into the soups to get this complete mouthful of flavours. This is not just a one time place to go and enjoy this is a spot to make your daily go to a part of your routine if you are a local. I'll be getting the train back up from London with the plans of stepping inside naked soup again. A place that understands having a small menu and perfecting each element. I tip my hat to you naked soup.

I have got to be totally honest here. The staff were absolutely fantastic 11/10 but the food was inedible. I mean really bad. The chicken burger although it was very big....was bad. Funny texture.....one of the worst I've had anywhere. The curry was very bland and watery. The steak pie thing was.....I actually doesn't know what to say......I'll stick to real...bad. Absolutely go for the alcohol as they do good offers and it's cheap. The staff honestly just couldn't have been better. Also brilliant with dogs. For food I just couldn't ever recommend.....so so soooooo unfortunate :( x
