We had our staff night out in the back room of oneills last night and we had a great time. Staff were very nice and pizzas were tasty. Special shoutout to Heather who kept coming in to check we were having a good time and continued to pour us shot after shot!

Great live music. Good place for people watching. Usual waiting at the bar. Waitress cleaned spilt drinks from table into the chairs!!

Good vibes and not too busy for a Saturday evening (got there around 6pm). Quickly served at the bar, and prices were quite reasonable for the city centre. Lots of large screen TV's for sports.

We had a small breakfast each the tomato and hash brown tasted awful. It was very quiet when we went in about 11.30 but was getting busier when we left. I

We usually go to union street O'Neil but we thought we give a try this O'Neil. It was great here. Food were fresh and yummy. Nice clean place with nice decor. Staff were lovely. Definitely coming back. I would recommend friends to come here.

Decent place for groups, a good amount of screens for sport and the food is good. But pricey for a pint compared to some other places but not wild

Nothing Irish about this place. Disappointed with the Guinness, staff need to learn how to pour a pint not just sit the glass flat and let the tap run.

Atmosphere on a saturday night is brilliant especially having a band on, got recommended some lovely cocktails by Chelsea can’t thank her enough for her help!

I simply could not recommend Tommy enough. Not only did he make me feel welcome, he gave me enough lime to cure a galleon's crew worth of scurvy

Dropped in for lunch (all 9 of us)…had a great meal and we were well looked after. Mark was the man of the moment, made sure we felt welcome and went above and beyond with the friendly service…….try the Guinness BBQ sauce!!

Good service altho we were offered table service we first came in. Nothing after that. Also as booked a table had a deposit used as bar tab but there was no receipts to let us know when this ran out.

Visited Oneills for some food and drinks with friends on a Friday afternoon, and what an excellent place this was😃 After buying some drinks from the extensive drinks menu, we ordered the drunken mushrooms, the smothered chicken with fries, and a steak and Guinness pie with peas, mash, and gravy. The food tasted absolutely excellent, and I can highly recommend Oneills for both food and drinks. And if you find the place a bit noisy, you have the option to sit in the area overlooking the Merchant Square if you want to have a conversation without saying huh every other minute 😂

Love a wee Rhubarb gin with ginger beer! Ailsa gave me orange as requested 😋 awesome! ☺️ 💚

Went for a spice bag and a quiz. Quiz was cancelled and the spice bag felt a bit like a hate crime.

Atmosphere was 10/10 Staff all friendly.

On arrival tables were ready. Staff were all friendly and very helpful especially the girl attending to our arrival and Buffett (sorry can’t remember her name). Buffett was delicious plenty of choice something for everyone

Booked my retirement night in the courtyard- Food was great and really good value. The drinks and service was fab. Can’t thank the staff enough.

Restaurant-bar that doesn't accept children, it is unacceptable ! Rude security person who kicks you out without even saying hello... I am really disappointed.

Took my wife and father for lunch yesterday and asked the chap behind the bar if we could sit at the table outside and move a chair over,the answer was no the chairs stay where they are I can't go moving chairs for you,three paying customers had to move on and spend our money elsewhere.Have now had a reply saying at no time I mentioned anything to do with chairs, this is a complete lie.

I’ve been in Glasgow a few days and came across this gem. Live music, sports including gaa on tv, friendly staff and door staff, good food and drink. I’ve ended up here every night drinking rockfall cocktails listening to music and having craic with everyone. I like to try local bars around the world and this is one of my favourites

Great pub in the heart of Glasgow's Merchant City. The food in here is far superior to your normal "pub grub" especially that service at the 'Spoons', however the price is still fair. I'd highly recommend the Staked Chicken Burger it's phenomenal, especially with the Guinness BBQ sauce which you'll find on your table. The pints are pulled well in here too, by friend staff who work hard to keep the ques down. Definitely a place to start or end your night in Glasgow.

Popped in here last night (Thursday) for some food and drinks. We both ordered fish & chips. The portion size was good but the chips were brick hard and inedible. We let the waitress know and she was very apologetic. There was a quiz on while we were there and we found it to be far too long & somewhat boring. Music was being played in between and we enjoyed that element and the atmosphere was overall good too.

One of the most well known merchant city pubs serving good food and presenting live music at weekends. Most of all it is known for being a sports pub with lots of football fans. The Merchant City is slowly turning into a Templebar, Dublin type area with a handful of Irish pubs now all in a close area proximity.The seating is not ideal in places for watching the TV'S and the roll down projection screens ,frankly have terrible ghostly picture quality which for me was unwatchable A pint of Innes and Gunn lager comes in at a hefty £6.30. Oh! for the old days when you could have bought a round for that. Showing ma age now.🥺

Went for lunch today with 2 other friends, we all had steak ,table 5 , very tough , couldn't eat it , left it on plate . Told bar guy never said anything, £30 odd pounds wasted for 3 meals , very disappointed.

Good location, and really big place. Plenty of seats when we went. Clean and tables kept clear. Good value lunchtime deal. Food was pretty much as you would expect in a pub. Staff were excellent - and so friendly.

Came in for a few drinks and we were very happy with everything! Drinks prices were a little cheaper than metropolitan, nice surprise. The barman was friendly and explained all the different vodkas we could choose from (large of course!) For being Easter Saturday we expected it to be a madhouse but it was a very well run pub with attentive staff.

Again a great night. Busy busy but great. DJ played bangers and the band were pretty decent too. We had a great start to our Easter weekend!

Party time! Woohoo! My friends and I don’t often get away from the children and husbands so we decided to make a full on day of it! Breakfast somewhere else and then straight to O’Neills to get the best table possible! The door security were so polite and friendly(not often seen in this day!) The music was all amazing and we barely sat down from all the dancing! The girls dancing was sure a highlight and brought back memories of yesteryear! The staff working were great too and especially how busy it was and how rude people were, they deserved a well earned drink after that night! I’ve seen people complaining about the toilets but my friends and I saw young ladies in cleaning all the time what I couldn’t believe was someone unlocking a door and then complain it was disgusting! Common sense honestly! We had such a fabulous night and can 1000% say we’ll all be back again soon!

Came in to celebrate St Patrick’s day and it didn’t disappoint! The music was first class and the ones playing half way through the day were phenomenal! The staff were super friendly and all dressed up, they even gave me and my friends transfers😂 absolutely mental night and definitely the no 1 spot to go to. Toilets were a bit rough but we saw people going to clean them a lot. Great craic O’Neills!

Well what can I say !! Was in here on St Patrick's night, wasn't that busy. My partner went to the toilet he said it was in some state!!. Eventually I had to go to the ladies.. OMG!! Never seen anything like it !! Sick in 2 of the toilets it was an absolutely disgusting!!🤢. Toilet roll everywhere but none in the toilet!!I know it was a busy day but they should be someone checking them. The service was diabolical.. Won't be back.

We had to wue to get in a bit of a pet hate, I think the majority of people in there were under twenty five, the night we were in. Good atmosphere but a young crowd, good music, twenty four pounds for a single gin, a double rum & coke, and a double vodka. To me that's almost double a spoons round, so not cheep. Not the worst place in the world but not the best either.

O'Neill's has been in this Merchant city location for years. This visit was for lunch and I arrived just as the bar opened at noon. I ordered from the table using the O'Neill's app on my phone. My drink was brought without delay and the staff were very friendly. I enjoyed my food and had a good experience.

Great atmosphere for St Patricks day. They has spent time decorating the venue with lots of freebies for all. Although busy, they had enough staff on to serve so there was no more than a 5-7 min wait at the bar. Had a great time.

Tried to find somewhere to watch the Newcastle vs Chelsea match! Walked in and though this place has potential, very spacious, plenty of TV Screen, being a Monday night we had no issues being served or finding a good table. Major let down, they wouldnt put any volume on the football what so ever! It's just a little thing but made the night that little bit poorer (along with the result obvs)

Brilliant Friday night! DJ was great and the band were fantastic! We had only been for lunch before and thought we’d give it a try for a night out. Very impressed by the whole evening. Toilets were less than great but that is people not being tidy themselves!

Had an amazing time here! Food was fantastic and booking was so easy. We requested the courtyard and they gave us brilliant seats! The staff were so lovely and great at helping us deciding what to order. We’ll defo be back!

A very bland 'Irish' pub, no Irish lager, no Irish food - could as easily be called Smith's, Adamson's, or Jones's. Seemed like a good bar for watching live sport but can't see me going back
