Good salad and sandwich options. The portions size could be quite filling though, better keep it to medium bowl for salad.

I love it. Fresh ingredients, get it made up how I like. Salads are great value for money. I eat half at lunch and rest for my dinner. Staff are very friendly. I think it's great value for money.

Expensive and can have quite a queue but worth the wait for me. Best salad I’ve ever purchased in Glasgow. Highly recommend! Nice staff and establishment.

The sandwiches are OK, but expensive for what I received. My friend asked for cheese on her ham sandwich and was charged an extra £2 for a slice of basic cheddar. For what we paid, there are more interesting options nearby.

Disappointing I was second in the que but was waiting over 15mins to be served and ended up with a wrap which was mainly bread and weird half warm half cold. Staff were friendly though

Had a quick lunch/salad order, it was confusing a little bit, because I am vegan, and vary options and you have to choose on the line. I wish there was a quicker menu item and I can buy it quickly.

Bought a brown bread tuna mayo sandwich, no salad and a packet crisps. £5.35........ Will not be back!!!

Went here for a quick lunch and ended up waiting 10 minutes for 2 toasted baguettes. I say toasted but they were practically raw, cold chicken and unmelted cheese. The service was also so slow, they had no clue what was going on and they overcharged us by £3. Won’t be back!!

I had a lovely roll and sausage. However, at £2.75 it was expensive. Pre covid you could get a drink and a roll and ??? for less than this.

Management are abysmal. Front of house staff clearly work hard to serve customers, keeping up with demand. However management clearly have very little people or management skills. The manager/ supervisor (he was ginger) seemed to have woken up on the wrong side of the bed when we visited. He had a very condescending attitude to the barista making our coffees. Bully’s don’t make for good management or good staff retention.

I went last week and the prices were £3.10 per sandwich. Now there has been a change of menu and prices now an extortionate £4.50 for same exact sandwich. An utter utter disgrace. They have lost me as a customer despite the fresh food being prepared. I hope no one buys from there as a protest. Shocking. Unjustified.

I visit Philpotts several times a week as I work close by.the quality of food is good and the staff friendly but look to be Stressed.i have noticed in a few occasions the young male supervisor shouting at the female staff while he seems to stand about and do nothing.not a good look for a Business.

I stopped by here yesterday to have a sandwich. Nothing fancy, just a sandwich. I had the special of the day which was a chicken salad with slices of Cumberland sausage in it. It was really interesting since I have no idea what Cumberland sausage is, but it was very tasty. I had some bottled water and crisps with the sandwich. The restaurant was spacious and well lit. It was a nice place

What is the point stating you're open till 3pm, while you finish serving any food except sandwiches half an hour of even more in advance? You declare you open till 3, you serve till 3! No excuses, you do the cleanup and stuff after closure. Why do I need to track your internal timing preferences?? The salads are nice, but tbh the baked potato was underbaked a couple of times.

It's a big sandwich shop. The made - up sandwiches are not so great, but the made - to-order sandwiches and salads are good. They do hot food as well, which looks scrummy, but I've never had it so don't know.

Only had a quick coffee in here, but it was airy, spacious and bright. Very nice ambience. My only niggle is that they could do with some plug points around the place, but not a big deal.

Near empty, 13:45, one other person in queue, 4 staff behind counter, 3 of whom thought it would a good idea to ignore me for 10 minutes while they cleared up. Can't comment on the food because I have better things to do with my life than hang around empty sandwich bars while being ignored by staff. Went to Pret, got served in under 30 seconds. It's not rocket science people!

Myself and a colleague go to Philpotts for lunch most days.The service is Excellent Especially the Salad Counter.The staff are friendly and Efficient.One staff member in particular stands out Mary.Always has a smile and on the Ball.Excellent place for lunch .

Here's a very nice place for lunch. It can get busy there, but I found it worth queuing for the food. Sandwiches, wraps, hot food, there's a good range of food to choose from.

Great place to hit for an inventive salad during the working day. Set said ideas, which you can alter to taste or health needs. Can be a little slow at check out when you are needing to ‘get on’ with the working day, but generally good service and friendly staff.

Went on Tue 9th for quick lunch & had a pastrami on rye with jalapenos with their outstanding coffee..awsome as usual.

I love Philpotts, I occasionally go there for my breakfast and sometimes lunch. The noodles are amazing and very filling, however it would make them much more tasty if you could have some fresh chillies, fresh garlic and some fresh ginger, and to top it all some sesame seed oil and not everyone likes the sauces. Mary at the hot counter is a lovely friendly person and she is a pleasure to speak too. Thank you

I had not heard of this chain of eateries prior to buying a Groupon Voucher. I had bought a couple of vouchers, as they have several locations around the UK, including Manchester and Liverpool, where I am visiting in the next couple of months. The one in Glasgow is very easy to find. When I queued, and presented my voucher, it caused a slight issue!! Now I am not sure if it was the first time that the server had come across a voucher, but she passed it onto the Manageress, who soon sorted it out. The voucher was for a hot baguette, gateau/cake and soft drink, coming in at £6. Going by the individual prices, I would have paid around £10!! I decided on the Duck with Hoisin Sauce baguette, a San Palegrino Orange Juice and a Vanilla Slice. The baguette was lovely, although not that warm. My Vanilla Slice was excellent, and my drink was good. After the initial "blip" with the voucher, everything else was excellent. Nice staff, and even though it was very busy, the staff soon sorted out the orders for the various customers.

What can I say about Phill-Potts that hasn't been replicated in the comments below, the place is unparalleled value for money ! Quality - Check Quickness - Check Friendly Staff - Check Value - Check !! If you are visiting ... drop by ! If you work in Glasgow ... get in there ! I work in the Student Loans Company across the road, so it's handy going there. I always get the noodles made in front of you. I have to say, every member of staff have been fantastic and give excellent recommendations (if they have maybe ran out of chicken etc). The woman who normally serves me is on annual leave, so there has been a new woman I think her name is "Mary", however the noodles she has been making are off the scales! Sheer taste sensation! Party going on in your mouth kinda stuff! Highly recommended. Cheers Phillpotts :-)

If minus stars could be awarded.... I have never had such a poor experience in my life. The service or lack there of is so slow. The queue system is all over the place. The staff were rude, slow and had such glum faces. Could be so much better but alas.... AVOID at all cost

I have been visiting Philpotts for years now, it starts my working day off well with lovely friendly service, fantastic food always made with a quick chat and smile. Coffee is always great and extra hot just how I like it. All round great experience every time. Thanks for making my mornings a little easier.

¡Amo este lugar! He tenido un almuerzo para llevar de aquí algunas veces recientemente y volveré. Es un buen lugar para ir y tomar el almuerzo cuando está en un descanso laboral. Hay algunas mesas adentro pero es muy popular como comida para llevar. La selección de comida es genial. Puede hacer sus propios sándwiches, ensaladas o puede comer fideos o papas al horno y hacer que agreguen los ingredientes que desee. Lucho por encontrar cosas que me gusten en los lugares para llevar, así que este lugar es perfecto para mí debido a la variedad que ofrecen. Aunque es un poco caro, probablemente no sean los niños de lugar que visitarías todos los días.

Used to frequent this place a lot. Thought I would take my better half for breakfast when on business . I won't name the name but the lady at the cooked breakfast bar had a face like fizz and the world on her shoulders by all accounts. Desperately needing lessons on customer friendliness . Then my wife forgot to order an egg. I think that nearly tipped the woman over the edge. Food excellent as usual but cold. Also eating in. Steel forks please and not plastic would be good.

Good for a simple bit to eat, there is a huge range of options, but this leads to very long wait times to order and then pay. Best to plan visits between rush times

Es el mismo con bocadillos, tienen un montón de llenado. Las sopas diarias son siempre encantador y vienen en varios tamaños. Este lugar puede estar muy concurrido, así que recomiendo ir hacia 12:00 si es posible, ya que este período es generalmente el más tranquilo durante el almuerzo. I enjoyed my lunch at Philpotts, great choice of hot and cold food and good coffee too. I'm not a native to Glasgow and always enjoy being summoned to order with the cheery shout of "first".

Supongo que se podría decir que soy un cliente muy regular a Phipotts. Yo trabajo en el centro de la ciudad de Glasgow y que visita la tienda de casi cada semana. Voy en mi café de la mañana que es regular realizado a la perfección por el encantador y sonriente Nikki y a veces el encantador y muy educado Lynne. Entonces ir en los tiempos de la tarde y tengo mi almuerzo tarde y tengo mi "hacer su propia ensalada" por el muy educado, champán, divertida Kate. Las ensaladas son siempre tan fresco y delicioso! El director Kris siempre es asegurarse de que yo (y yo siempre le vi caminando por asegurarse otros clientes son los mismos) todo el mundo está bien y disfrutar hay almuerzos y asegurarse de que no necesitas nada más, etc. Yo creo que es simplemente genial. I pop in here regularly for coffee - their coffee is just the best! You can forget your Starbucks and your Costas - by far the nicest coffee in my opinion.

Used to like going here as the quality of food was good but its just went downhill. The food has definitely been compromised for cost with the breakfast in particular being most noticeable. The sausages are now huge and you can tell they are simply bunged in the deep fat fryer for quickness and are very tough due to being over cooked, with an overpowering herby taste. Tattie scones are pulled apart from frozen and are disgusting to taste. You charge a premium price, so you really need to get the quality back as hardly anyone in my work now goes here. The staff are nice though.

As other reviwers have noted, food is decent but place is quite depressing. Went in for the ONLY morning deal they do which is 99p for a drink and a sandwich. Got the sandwich first from the counter (after having asked which one i need to get for the deal) and was instead charged £2.45. Staff is half asleep in the morning. They will never go out of business though due to corproate provisioning and the location.

Stumbled on this place by accident and have become a regular visitor over the last year or so. It offers a huge range of hot and cold food as well as cakes and snacks, all of the highest quality. Located in the heart of one...

The most depressing place with the most depressed looking staff. Been in twice now and the food was mediocre and overpriced. Clearly the owner or manager of this place doesn't really care about it, at least hire pleasant staff if the food isn't that good.

This place is great for breakfast and lunch. They have some really good value breakfast deals with toast and a drink or a filled roll and a drink. For lunch they have a hot food counter with a noodle station, a salad counter and a sandwich counter making food to order

Get there before 12 noon to avoid the lunchtime rush 👌

The breakfast and coffee are really good but it can be frustratingly disorganised in the morning when you're trying to grab a quick bite before work. Always return though as the food is superior to most other places in the area in my opinion.

Ok food, payment queue a bit disorganised. The card machine wasn't working which caused major disruption. Food was just ok, for what you get.

I work around the corner from Philpotts and it's great for lunch. A large selection of pre-packed sandwiches and they will also make to order along with their salad boxes. There's also a hot selection of food at the back of the shop. You can have a selection of roasts (with potatoes and veg) or have the roast made into one of their noodle boxes (highly recommended). Only downside is that the coffee service in the morning could be a whole lot quicker.

The food is very nice and you can have just about anything you want from a nice coffee to a posh noodle dish, all cooked as you need and sandwiches made to order so very fresh.My Chicken Stew looked like baby food which nearly put me of but tasted very nice, wanted a roll and was given a French stick at 50p, you can’t be making any profit on this as it was huge at 50p, need to look at your margins!Service is really slow, due to poor layout of shop and only two tills with one girl who just stands behind the till doing nothing when she could be getting things for the two girls on the till, poor management controls, if I Worked in town would never use it as could not get in and out quick enough, as I was skiving as I am the boss had loads of time,LOL.Staff are lovely and try their best but the setup is poor for them! I will be back but will check no queue, as its all windows you can see and walk on to somewhere else with a smaller queue.

I found the food here ok, limited pre packed sandwiches mean you need to queue, which means you get fresh but then you move from one queue to get your lunch to then another queue to pay! Found the system confusing and un necessary! Pleasant enough to staff - bit pricy for lunch!

the caesar salad is very good, I substitute the cucumbers with red onion and get an extra scoop of dressing...yumThe queue is horrific at lunch and you can't tell where to stand.

Great lunchtime filling station. I had the hot noodles with chicken and vegetables; the food is prepared to order and taylored to your wishes. It was very good. Staff are friendly and well trained. The atmosphere was buzzing and the dining area itself although sparsely furnished with tables to share, was a treat.

It does good food. It's just disorganised, you have to queue twice, once for the food and then again to pay. It's also disorientating the first couple of times. Did you know they do a meal deal? There isn't a sign for it or for any thing else except for prices.

Wow! What can I say? Just had an amazing salad & want to go back for more! This place is my idea of food heaven :) Had an Itison voucher to get a sandwich/salad/baguette, packet of crisps & drink for half price (£3.50). Hadn't been before so had looked the online menu to get an idea of what to expect but the place exceeded those expectations. I asked someone at the cash desk what was included in the deal and was met with a very friendly & helpful response. I was advised that the pre-packed sandwiches were included as were the cans of soft drink/bottled water together with Kettle chips. I was also advised that I could have the standard size salad/sandwich made up per the pre-set list (which is pretty extensive). Helpfully she explained that if I wanted any additional items, I would need to pay for these separately - good to know.After some perusal, I opted for the New England salad with salad leaves as the base (you have a choice of leaves, pasta, rice or cous cous) and this consisted of peppered mackerel (whole fillet cut into pieces), coleslaw, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, red onion & french dressing. To be honest, I don't think the coleslaw is required but that's a personal choice. After measuring out the leaves into the size of tub for takeaway, she put all of the ingredients into a large bowl and mixed everything through. This for me is one of the great positives as I like to have the dressing through the whole salad & not just on top. It was then returned to the tub for me to take away & enjoy, which I certainly did. So full of flavour & plenty of eating in it.I went in just around 12 noon & it was quiet however it was getting busier as I was getting served with a queue for the salads (I can understand why!). They were bringing out extra staff though to deal with this. They have a seating area too which seems nice & spacious & I think I will be heading for that next week when I have more time. I can see why some people consider the prices as expensive however when you consider the quality of the food alongside a supermarket bought salad, I don't think there's any question over value for money. I personally wouldn't spend this every day but as a nice treat, this is the place for me.

I purchased the Wowcher offer for a lunch deal of sandwich,salad, wrap, drink and crisps for £3.95 with a supposed price normally of £7.45. When we arrived we were told it was only from the pre packed stuff which appeared to be priced around £3.50/3.95, told you could have water , coke or Tango and a packet of crisps. These 3 items do not add up to £7.45 so a fair bit of false advertising here IMO. To be fair the staff are really nice but the sandwich was actually really bland and tasteless (much better tasting one from Pret-a-Manger!!!!). Not the best deal in the world and I wont be making the trek again for a pre packed sandwich. Disappointed overall.

Lovely breakfast specials, go each morning before work for my coffee and toast. You will not get friendlier staff especially from John who has your order ready before you even have to ask.Fair priced and delicious food/coffee always served with a friendly face that sets you up for the day.

I went in at lunch today for a baguette and was amazed at the eventual cost. On the board it was £3.10 for the Chicken Tikka take-away then 60p added for the speciality bread (it was just a baguette - not fancy or special) and 10p extra per salad item. So I went to pay and was charged £4.30 - when I questioned this cost increase of an extra £1.20 over the board price they advised that as it was toasted it would have to be charged at 'eat-in' prices!!! I paid it grudgingly as I was hungry and limited for time but it wasn't blow me away, top quality, setting my taste buds alight, kind of thing - it was a Chicken Tikka baguette toasted. The last time it was there I am sure I paid £3.50 odd so would like to know how costs have increased so much. I'll not be back.Don't get me wrong Philpotts looks nice and in a great corner location and I think they play on this a bit - the food is average and the service is actually quite poor and impersonal. There are plenty of other nice, friendly, welcoming places within the vicinity that will not screw you with price add-ons like Philpotts do.

Everything is over priced.But the worst bit was I asked for a salad on the side. This consisted of browning lettuce. Nothing else, no dressing nothing.

I was so surprised and impressed by Philpotts. It manages to pull off a curious balance of old-meets-new.The old is the traditional signage, staff uniforms and a carvery option for lunch. The new is a bright modern interior, quick service and fresh up-to-date salads and sandwiches.I bought a takeaway salad. They have a brilliant system where you choose the base of your salad, the size and then select from a wide range of centrepieces (I choose beef and mustard). Then they make up your salad fresh in front of you. This is how all salads should be done!They have plenty of tables inside but I liked how they kept things uncluttered and spacious, so queueing for food didn't feel like a chore.I'll definitely be back if I'm in Glasgow again.

Went there for breakfast. Ordered tea, bacon, eggs, and sausage. The sausage was not great. Kinda doughy, Bacon was a large lump. Generous yes, but had not been separated from the packaging and just cooked as a large lump. When my breakfast was served, i also noticed that the egg was only just the one. so i ordered another, because everything was too salty to be eaten with the just the one egg. overall, the meal cost around £8-9 which is completely not worthwhile. Go to Carluccio's, a 10-minute walk away for much better value overall.
