Stereo Cafe Bar in Glasgow City

I went to a gig in Stereo for the first time. Great venue, sound was fantastic. I'll be watching out for more gigs at this venue

Terminamos volviendo al día siguiente para el brunch y para más bebidas. El menú es totalmente vegano. El personal era amable, el servicio era genial y se sentía acogedor y “seguro”. Me gustó mucho el sándwich de haggis vegano y patatas fritas, así como los cafés y bebidas. Volvería aquí si estuviera en Glasgow de nuevo y recomendaría a otros para disfrutar.

My go to place in Glasgow for food. Absolutely love every dish I've had. Especially like the burger and Welsh rarebit!

Delicious food! I have tried most of the dishes on the menu and they are healthy and tasty! I was particularly blown away by the polenta w/ mushrooms - the combination of flavours was an experience in and of itself! I would strongly recommend the restaurant, it's my go-to every time I am in Glasgow.

Estéreo es acogedor y se siente como entrar en la casa de un amigo. Sin duda uno de los mejores lugares veganos de Glasgow - sin duda volverá para un concierto algún tiempo!

I go here for lunch, probably about once a month. I've always thought the prices were pretty reasonable. However, today, I chose the special, which was cauliflower 'cheez', and it was inedible. The cauliflower was undercooked, and the sauce was off. I'm not even sure how that's possible when not using cow's milk. I mentioned this, and they gave me 15% off. They charged me £10 for inedible food. I had eaten one bite. I'll not be going back, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

My absolute favourite spot in Glasgow. I’ve spent many, many hours in Stereo from student days to working nearby and now popping in for lunch or dinner at least once a month. Menu changes regularly - the head chef Rachel is a bloody gem. No other pub switches up their menu so frequently with new innovative dishes. The attention to detail is more befitting of a high end place, not a bar and gig space with prices that reflect that. Over the years highlights have been ramen, the bourguignon and the buffalo cauliflower is insane. Oh and the pierogi. Oh and the Vietnamese rice salad. The new lunch menu deals are fab and service is really quick on these so you can easily fit in your lunch hour. The Welsh rarebit is godly. Staff are always super friendly and efficient and the drinks selection is good. Cocktails can be hit and miss depending who is working and if there’s a gig on it can be packed. Absolute gem of a place and after losing so many vegan places in Glasgow recently, please support this amazing space

Went with a friend who’s vegan and gluten free and there menu is great for this!

Had a great meal here the other day. Food was fantastic and staff were lovely.

We were welcomed by an incredibly rude member of staff, I was then served a flat spritz, when asked to make a new one, you could see the rage in her face. Not cheap, rude staff and awful cocktails, not the one.

We were very surprised by the energy of this place, super cool people and very delicious food. Would love to be a local here if lived in Glasgow :)

Was very excited to go here on our trip and arrived at 8:30 to be told the kitchen had closed and they’d run out of food - despite it saying it closed at 9 on the website. Insane because it’s so early and the place was packed. So annoying to have a night screwed up like this.

Stereo is one of the best places for Vegan Pub food in Glasgow. When your feeling the need for a good burger this is the place to go. Great selection of beers and cocktails too.

I was waited by a very nice staff member. Had their soup of the day (curried lentils) and their Welsh rarebit toast, both of which were delicious (10/10!).

Generally friendly and dog friendly!

I’ve been going to stereo for just over a year now and every time it’s one of the best nights. First time was a year ago for a gig, and the atmosphere is lovely and the sound is great. Then started going for food and drinks. Most recent trip was this Thursday, I had their congee (pictured) and my friends had a few other things. Everything was lovely, my friends (who are all non vegans) rated the meal so highly as well. I constantly take vegans and non vegans here alike because it’s one of the best places in Glasgow to eat. I always get a pint of hogans draught cider as stereo is the only place that does a decent cider on draught in Glasgow so it’s always a nice treat to go and get that too. It’s a nice dry cider that kind of has the taste of scrumpy I used to drink when I was living back in Somerset. Anyway, been meaning to leave this review for a long time! But I was reminded to do so after remembering the great customer service from the staff and how polite and attentive they all are towards me and my Friends. As I imagine they are to any guests they have in. Cheers for the great night!

Didn't eat in the restaurant we were only there for the gig downstairs. I am partially disabled with a walking stick.awkwd to walk on cobbles outside,a good few stairs inside to get down and standing room with extremely hard cold benches to sit on to view bands.was directed to this seating and it looked ok until the place filled up.my view was completely blocked by everyone and I never even caught a glimpse of the headline band, couldn't see a thing.i waited 35 years to see this band and my night was ruined by no proper set up for the disabled.not fair in this day and age.we left after half an hour which I have never in years of gigging ,had to do. Get your finger out stereo.

Downstairs for a gig by the postcards, it was really good night out, the basement gets quite warm when it is busy but they do seem to put some select bands on 👍

Went for lunch. Really good vegetarian food. Wide range and everything is vegetarian. Haggis bonbons were excellent. Had a hot dog special which was great, with very spicy dressing. Puddings were superb and it was hard to tell they were vegan and contained no dairy. Good beer and wine range.

The food and service are both excellent. We go there fairly often as we both enjoy every visit.

My new go-to place when visiting Glasgow now! Staff are super friendly, top grub, great beer selection. Hope to catch a gig here next time!

Excellent inclusive pub with cool staff and lovely atmosphere. The concert venue downstairs is also good.

It's a nice space but full of pointless decor like political flags. Who wants politics when they eat. Activists and pretend trend setters will love how off the wall there trying to be. Signs like no racism no sexism no fascism, like there common traits in restaurants. The food was average There is way better food in Glasgow for vegans. Having said that buffalo cauliflower was really nice. Tom should work on his noddles Overall a less than enjoyable visit.

We were positively shocked about the fantastic food and nice staff. There is excellent gluten-free options on a separate menu. Everything's vegan (vegan Haggis included). We would have loved to come here again or take home some recipes

I attended a concert here and had an amazing time! The atmosphere was fun and exciting, and I really enjoyed myself. The staff were very friendly, and even the security team was pleasant. The only downside was that the phone signal didn’t work, and there was no Wi-Fi available.

Very greasy food, even smelt very greasy in there. Also looked and felt grubby, why do they think that is what vegans want! Expensive given the standard of the food served, staff felt uninterested. Far better places to eat and drink in Glasgow, one to avoid.

The food was beyond delicious. Had the potato dumpling as a starter and the polenta as a main. My partner had vegan haggis and absolutely loved it as well. Too bad we‘re leaving Glasgow. If we come back, I won‘t be thinking about where we have our next meal! Cheers!

This is a great place to catch up with a friend. It's got a mellow student feel, staff are nice and helpful with any questions. The food is a bit more hit and miss, but have it 4 stars for the black forest tiramasu - ridiculously nice, unbelievable that it's vegan. Next time just going to have their yummy chips and nooch (a crumbly umami sprinkle) so I can guarantee I have room for dessert.

Great wee place. Unrivaled atmosphere and tasty as hell vegan food. The bathroom has graffiti of a Shakespearean sonnet. 10/10 no notes

I was eager to dine here after reading so many positive reviews, but unfortunately, politics overshadowed the experience. As an Israeli woman, I didn’t feel welcome.

Fantastic venue for music downstairs. It's a shame the bar staff up top are so moody. Someone needs to tell the fella with the highlights if he doesn't like serving a busy bar he probably wants to find another job. Never seen someone so actively pissed off pouring pints. My partner has also experienced the staff being moody / aggro arseholes when they went there for lunch and it was empty, had to leave. As they are representing us vegan / queer folk they need to sort out their act

Delicious food and friendly staff, pretty noisy and very busy when we went as a live band on downstairs but still enjoyed it all. And they're dog friendly too and brought out a water bowl for the dogs which was appreciated 👍

Band fantastic. Service for food awesome! Greeting at the beginning absolutely awful! Warned aggressively that that if there was any carry on we would be out immediately! We were 6 women 2 men! All in our 40s !!! And the bouncers are extremely aggressive. Won't return

❤️‍🔥Good club❤️‍🔥 I was there at the bRAVE rave on Ukraine's Independence Day. ✨A small club for local events. 🍸There is a bar at the top, and to go down to the club itself, you need to go through the entire bar and go down several flights of stairs. 🫠There is a place around the dance floor to sit if you are tired. 💦There was free water and glasses at the rave, thank you so much for that! 🌩️The club itself has a good sound system and lighting. There is not much light and not little. 😎The guards are also kind, they opened the doors for us when we ran to smoke😁 I liked the place, I would like to go there again for a techno party)

Other reviews are spot on. Nice food and atmosphere but (management) staff have an attitude. People on the ground are sound but seems like the managers have a chip on their shoulder. Not impressed.

The Greek salad is honestly a triumph. I was surprised they made such a humble set of ingredients stand out, but they really did! The chips are everything you want from chios- crispy, soft inside, salty. And the stereo burger was phenomenal, really nice texture. Also highly recommend the hummus plate, some of the best hummus I've ever had at a restaurant. On top of all the great food, the service was top tier, our server was attentive and really friendly, and everything came to the table in a timely way. Definitely will be going back! P.S. - also the toilets are fab

I never post reviews and I always feel a bit critical of the food. The food we had was genuinely the best meal I have ever tasted. I emplore who ever is reading this to try this place

A lovely date night for my partner and I, completely ruined by a very incompetent member of staff called Anna. From the moment we got there (we were on time for our pre-booked table) we were met by Anna at the door who looked pretty bored and non-plussed to see customers walking in, Anna pointed to where our table was and walked off to do something else. No basic communication, a smile or even a Hello. It felt pretty award to say the least. Shortly after this Anna came over to our table and due to the music being exceptionally (nightclub level) loud - we couldn't hear what Anna asked. My partner politely asked her to repeat the question and suddenly Anna shouted at us both "DRINKS!" she yelled over the table while rolling her eyes and looking highly irritated. My partner calmly asked if the music could be turned down so we could hear each other and her to which again, she sighed, looked very unhappy about the (fairly basic) request and stormed off. A couple of minutes later the music was at last turned down to an okay level. Why Anna believed it was okay to become highly exasperated and shout as us was totally unacceptable. My partner and I were on time, polite, sober and looking forward to the evening. We were made to feel like we were anything but. Anna appears to have no basic communication skills, manners or social awareness. These skills are critical for working in hospitality and clearly she isn't able to work with people. Maybe it's best Anna doesn't work in a place with people? The food was okay overall, the drinks were average (quite overpriced for the quality of them) and the atmosphere was average. The couple beside us commented to us later on that the "shouting waitress seemed very unprofessional and a bit shocking". We were utterly mortified by the whole situation and that another table had been disturbed by Anna's behaviour. After our main courses we sat for another 10 mins with no offer of coffees / desserts and no one asked us at any point how everything had been. Not that Anna probably cares but shouting at customers is really dangerous - it can triggers people's Anxiety / PDST and really insult hard of hearing / deaf people - if people were to have any or some of those conditions. Maybe if Anna learned to speak kindly to people she would get a much better verbal transaction, in turn making it a much kindnest atmosphere for everyone at Stereo. We won't be back.

No greeting staff member slammed her mobile on the bar because she had to ask kitchen staff a question for me. Awful, unfriendly, unwelcoming.

Ive been here good few times over the last decade. It used to serve really tasty food but in last few years it has been going down the hill. Food is definitely no longer worth a visit. I dont think I will be back after today. On a positive note customer service is good .

VEGAN pub/sandwich shop a little hidden in the center of Glasgow. Despite not being vegan, we ate two truly excellent seitan and seitan + lentil burger sandwiches, and the accompanying chips were amazing!! The atmosphere is also excellent, the soft lights make the place very chill and welcoming. A young and quiet place to eat something at the end of the day. Very reasonable prices.

Love this place , great atmosphere and brilliant food. Also a great little gig pit underneath (two of the best gigs I've been to this year). Can't recommend enough, only bad thing I can say is it's a bit small but that's not really a downside.

Rlly cool vibes, i love wooden structures so the interior is rlly nice for me. Also the food is real tasty. 😊 Staff very lackluster, you can tall they aren't trying for tips, they already are paid a living wage which is cool. :)) nice album/cd shop at the back too which is nice.

Was here for a concert and aside from it being basement level making it a bit stuffy and hot (staff had fans on help with this as much as possible) it was a really good night out I enjoyed myself and staff kept the service at a steady attentive rate. It really gives giant group hang vibes and although I didn't eat in the food side of the place it smelled great on the way by and I might even go back to try it out.

It's a bit of a mixed bag there. The food and selection of beers and drinks great , but the thing that has put me off quite a few times now are the staff. They are often unwelcoming and just give off an up tight feeling. It's a shame because it used to be really laid back and comfortable.

I was there for the first time for Affleck's Palace gig. Security on the door were friendly and helpful. The bar staff were great and still smiling even after people moaned, as they had to explain to everyone 1 drink per person. The cider was lovely. The sound in the venue was great. Definitely would go back. Within walking distance of buchanan St bus station/concert car park. Stairs down into the venue, toilets halfway down the stairs.

Stereo is an excellent venue. Great atmosphere, nice staff and good food (haven’t eaten there since 2018 but it smells great). Accessibility to the downstairs venue isn’t great as there is only stairs however there is a wheelchair lift from street level up to the bar/restaurant. ALSO - minimal to negligible phone reception in downstairs venue! If you can, get WiFi password from behind the bar.

Everything we ordered was great, but I have not stopped thinking about the Silesian Potato Dumplings ever since we’ve ordered 3 portions in one sitting! To whoever created it, well done, I will now be spending every day in my kitchen until I manage to recreate it. Good choice of non alcoholic drinks is a huge plus as well!

The best vegan food I've ever had! The haggis and cannoli were so good!

The food and cocktails were great. However, we have to wait extremely long (at least 20 mins) for someone to take our order. It was a Monday afternoon and the place was empty. We waited another 20 minutes, or more, to get the bill. At that point the place was still empty. It almost felt like we were bothering staff members who were there to socialise with each other.

Loved the vegan Haggis. Would highly recommend coming here
