Riverside Café in Bexley

Service was relatively quick even though it was very busy. The southern fried chicken wraps were most excellent

Too busy and too slow. Took over 10 minutes to queue for just one coffee because there is not enough people serving and making drinks. The chai latte I ordered was basically the same as a shop bought one and must have only had one scoop as it basically tasted like hot milk. The only way to get an Easter trail is to queue up in the cafe queue which took forever as old biddies order all their teas, coffees and multiple Lunches on multiple Cards. Simple changes would improve the efficiency of the place.

Slow service. Waited almost 10 minutes in a short line to be told they only have a machine for iced coffee & can't do a dairy free one (allergy) because they don't have ice. A café without ice?! Used to be a decent café, but it's really not what it once was.

Great service and food staff are kind and helpful visit on a regular basis and it is always good

Unable to comment on food as the service at till was so slow I left. Needs to improve.

Was told at 16:10 that they couldn't do an all day breakfast because they close in 20mins when google shows 17:00 👎

Simply wonderful. The staff could not have been more accommodating and the food was so delicious that even the enormous portions didn’t prevent us from clearing our plates. I imagine it’s even better on a warm sunny day watching the river babble past but, as we visited on a freezing day in February, we will just have to return to find out.

The food menu is very expensive especially for us pensioners so we only had tea and coffee and a slice of cake.

A lovely cafe, especially if you sit outside with a view of the gardens. A sandwich and a coffee cost me £10, so definitely not a cheap place for the family.

Went for a walk and some food on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Service was excellent from the young man that served us. What I ordered was a little underwhelming than I expected. Had the all day breakfast at £9 I think. The sausage (1) casing was very hard and dry and so was the two bacon. Would’ve loved to have a bit more on my plate than I did. I would’ve loved mushrooms on my plate too but it is what it is. Friend had the chillie con carne which he said was good but portion was (according to him) a bit smaller than he’d expected. Coffees were great! Ambiance was great on the outdoor balcony. Brilliant view! Thank you for a pleasant Sunday afternoon see you again soon. 🩵🩵

After buying our teas and food, we were told to leave the riverside area in 5 minutes. After 5 minutes we were ordered to move by the manager. No please or thank you, very rude. No way to treat your customers.

Extensive menu in a great setting - by the river in open parkland. The service is a bit slow on sunny days because it is always busy. Not expensive. Very large car park.

A lovely place for Sunday lunch with a good menu at reasonable prices. There are plenty of tables inside and out. The service was efficient, especially as it was quite busy. However, clearing of tables is sometimes a bit slow.

It's OK. Coffee products need a bit of training and supervision, but the coffee quality is alright. Honest prices.

The location. Is excellent, the food and coffees are good and good value for money, though some of the prices have risen sharply, they were probably too low to start with As regards service it's a tale of two cafes. One where the staff and atmosphere are lovely and one where just on occasions it isn't as sharp and I feel as if my presence is just seen as less than convenient. The majority of my service experience has been good or better and nearly all the staff polite and friendly.

We've been here many times. The staff are a friendly bunch, and somehow manage to remain polite and helpful even when they are ridiculously, non-stop busy (like today). The food is great and reasonably priced, the tables are clean when you sit down, and the view along and over the river is really pleasant. Definitely recommend them for coffee or lunch in peaceful, verdant surroundings.

Decent little cafe. Good food, nice location, friendly staff, fairly priced. What’s not to like?

Had the chicken & Bacon salad,it was very well presented and the best I tasted for a long time. Will definitely go again.

Can't fault this place, so nice to have the option to eat outside (just warn enough!) It was Sunday lunchtime so a but of a queue but not too bad. We ordered the curry special and an afternoon tea, all came to the table in good time and the scones (yes, 2) were fresh and very tasty, even served warm. Very pleasant. Staff were busy but still friendly.

Accused by “manager” quite rudely of receiving 2 of a part of our order and not paying for it! Whilst we were trying to eat our lunch (fully paid for in sync with the items we ordered). No customer focus and no checking with chef to check, just accusatory.

Went in Bank Holiday Monday with my husband, daughter and grandaughter. We were pleasantly surprised . Food was great, plenty if variety Gluten free options were great. Will definitely go again. Prices were fair.

A very cute little cafe in Hall Place Gardens. Great tasting cakes and hot drinks! Decently priced as well. You get a beautiful view of the park from the cafe. I’d recommend trying their avocado and courgette cake, it’s really lovely! Great place to have a day out in the park and visit the cafe too.
