Great food, great service, lovely atmosphere.

The food was lovely and the decor was awesome but the server gave us the feeling he would rather not be there - very unengaging and made us feel unwelcome. A definite attitude problem which seems very strange for a customer service role it honestly really spoiled the whole thing for me and I won't be going back again because of this.

We booked into the Travelodge just to come here for breakfast. Hubs had the full Scottish breakfast and I had french toast with bacon and maple syrup. We adore eating here and wish we lived closer.

I stopped here on a recommendation from Craig at the PlyGuys while they were fitting out my VW transporter. Coffee is amazing, the food ( Breakfast and Lunch yes i was here a while) was first class. I asked the guys if it would be ok to do my work from here and they were very accommodating , obviously when it hit peak time i went for walk. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff.

Highlander burger is something that you must try, I've never enjoyed a burger so much.. And sticky toffee pudding 😌🫶

Stopped in for a coffee with friends and the place had such a great vibe, cool staff and excellent service. They had a vast array of foods and drinks available and everyone in there was having a good time. Brilliant atmosphere.

In a nutshell - food was fabulous but the premises needs to be cleaned - thoroughly. Riverhill has always been a place for us when we want to treat ourselves or celebrate a special occasion. We went for breakfast there today and found the place has gone downhill. As we were shown to our seat, I slipped on a large sticky wet patch on the floor. It looked like something had been spilt but not cleaned up. The first table we were seated at was sticky - like it has been cleaned but not rinsed off. We asked to move which was accommodated and we told the staff about the table and the floor. The food however was delicious, not cheap but good quality. An older couple were shown to our previous table without it being cleaned and the floor issue wasn't cleared up before we left. Quite disappointing - we hope it improves.

Birthday treat that was very disappointing especially the wrap - filled with tasteless lettuce, vinegar tasting mayo & hardly any chicken - and well overpriced! I would have complained but l was being treated by my family.

After reading all good reviews about this place I thought i should try it , wasn't overly impressed with the food and presentation of it no salad just looked like it had been thrown together staff were nice.

Had two meals there in the last twoo ths, both have been tremendous. Looking forward to going again soon.

My first time here, for lunch today. WOW. Excellent food. Unbelievably flavoursome. The pakora was outstanding with a lovely dip. The chicken shawarma was just delicious! I will definitely be back! I need more off this menu! Very pleasant surroundings too. Thoroughly recommended! 10/10. Had the baha fish tacos on my latest visit. Just delicious! Any back here for breakfast... just amazing. Had the double big breakfast, which is not for the faint hearted, and the FOUR eggs had to be served on a separate plate...

Breakfast amazing, lunch amazing, evening meal amazing, you get the post is going, can't recommend enough.

Such a little hidden gem, so beautiful inside and outside. From chatting to the staff it seem to be an old chruch renovated to the beautiful restaurant and bar downstairs. I had few of their special cocktails, but I think their mocktails are a definitely go for, another place with homemade syrups. The blueberry one was delicious. And on the food ❤❤❤❤ truly beautiful and delicious. Honestly thought they had a star. I prefer the lamb over the spaghetti, the lamb was so tender🤤 the starter was the most interesting dish would have been the duck and watermelon salad. It somehow worked.

Great server, very helpful and accommodating with young kids, lovely place food amazing only small issue square sausage to hard but I didn't ask for it to be done any particular way just my preference

Very amazing all around, while it can get a bit crowded, the taste of the food makes it understandable why it was packed. The service was very nice, food tasted phenomenal, drinks hit hard yet went down easy, and the atmosphere was very pleasing. Honestly my only issue was the patty on my burger fell apart very easily.

Food very nice. Service quite slow. Best to book, especially if you have mobility issues. It's on two levels. Drinks were really expensive. Coffee was very nice.

This is one of the few restaurants I visit where I feel I could eat the whole menu.

This place has become famous with me for rushing people out the door my wife was there a couple of nights ago and was sitting there when someone showed up with the bill and we were not even finished and would have spent more no explanation or anything so so rude and this has happened a few times to us what made it even more of an insult was there was a party of six who arrived a wee while later than us and while we were sitting in the square in helensburgh a couple of hours later we seen the party of six leave so they were not rushed out the door... So I'm done not going back again....thanks riverhill

Tried Riverhill for the first time today for breakfast. We arrived at 9.50am. The sign on the door said opened at 10am. The door was open so we went in, to be met by a waitress who said can I help. I explained we are here for breakfast, she said we are not open yet. I said I can see we are a few mins early, we thought you would already be open. She shortly replied we’re not open yet & told us we couldn’t wait in the restaurant due to insurance reasons! What a lot of rubbish, as I business owner & a hospitality business owner I’ve never seen this restriction on insurance policies. Most places would tell you kitchen not open for another 10 mins but have a seat. No! we were told to stand outside & wait, on a cold damp morning in Helensburgh! We went back in at 10.03am & said waitresses face was tripping her when she seen us come in. I assume she was having a bad morning & this isn’t how paying customers are usually welcomed to the venue. Food was lovely, restaurant quickly filled up & the place looks nice. Just such a shame about the unwelcoming reception we received, which has put me off going again.

A great venue with an equally good atmosphere and service. The food was also good, but having looked at the menu online we were disappointed to learn that many of the dishes shown online were not on the menu in the restaurant. They should sort this out, as we were looking forward to the truffle Mac and cheese!

A perfect start to the day! This has quickly become my favourite breakfast place, we went 3 times this week and it didn't disappoint. The French toast and American style pancakes are out of this world. Husband said it was one of the best full Scottish breakfasts that he's ever had. Staff are friendly and super helpful

Delicious food at good prices and staff give excellent service. Not our first visit abd it certainly won't be our last. Could nit hear the music very clearly is my only negative comment but the restaurant was very busy.

Hadn't booked but accommodated easily as they had just opened and it was my birthday so felt like treating myself. Lovely, large dining areas so you didn't feel hemmed in or squashed. Food was quick, hot and fresh and I was under no pressure to hurry up and leave. Really great selection from the menu. Good value for money too. Having eaten elsewhere, locally, recently, this was waaaay beyond the previous poor experience of the more expensive establishment in terms of quality, service, choice and value for money. Toilet could do with a wipe-down and airfreshner though. 🙂

We got a nice table without a reservation. The food was delicious and the service was very accommodating. Music was really good and the volume was A1. Because the meal took longer, we got drinks on the house. Recommended! ♡

Chic little restaurant. The service staff are super friendly and attentive. In addition, 2x cappuccino, 1x espresso and 1x Coke were deducted from our bill because the waiter said we had to wait too long for our food. Super nice!

Great café bar. Food was well prepared, presented and tasty. Staff were attentive polite and very efficient.

In the main the food was very good although my breakfast was let down by a cheap sausage. The service was a bit hap hazard as we were forgotten about a couple of times. As regards cleanliness etc it is really starting to look grubby & neglected.

We were unlucky the night before to book a table for dinner, yet happy to have breakfast there! The service was so good, so professional and friendly. Stuff there are all smiling and helpful, beautiful faces to start your morning by! 🤗 I had cappuccino, and ordered double espresso as well, coffee was a little bit light not that strong but had a good effect so I was fine with it. Their full Scottish breakfast is more than fulfilling and tasty. Ordered haggis on the side which was also tasty, served hot and fresh. The eggs Benedict were so delicious as well. Highly recommended for the vibes there are amazing and stuff's friendliness made our visit warm and worthy.

Food was terrible and way too overpriced. Burgers made from cheap meat and you can tell.

Have eaten here before and had great food and service. Went in with 3 friends for drinks today and had terrible service from short red headed bar maid. Nippy and unfriendly, argumentative over a repeat order. Terrible.

We turned up for lunch without booking and had the most amazing lunch. Considering we were a party of five we were very happy they had room. The food was lovely and everyone in our party was very happy with their choice. I had haddock and chips - the fish was perfectly cooked and the hand cut chips were next level! My son recently moved to Helensburgh and we will make sure to visit again next time we come. Thanks guys!

Have liked this place ever since it opened and foodwise never fails to please... East Asian dishes along side trade and absolutely yummy. If you've never teide the food try it....worth it. Good choice of drinks and cocktails. Over the years service luke any other place has been up and down but generally good. Recently had really great service from a wonderful guy but he took a little time to warm up...all GOOD.

Great spot for food. Varied many, plenty of choice. Plumped for the fish tacos and they were a good choice, beautifully presented and very tasty. Washed down with a nice bottle of Schiehallion beer. Pretty fair prices and service was prompt and courteous.

Went in for a quick coffee. Hardly anyone in there. Lots of staff about. I was shown to a table. I waited ten minutes to be given a menu or acknowledged, but nothing. Went home and had a nicer coffee in nicer surroundings. A shame as I believe it's important we support local businesses, and these small things matter - whether a quick coffee or a big family celebration. If you can't get the small things right ... What I tend to hear about Riverhill from friends is the food is fantastic but the service is dire. I can see why. Also, in that short time in there, the smell of old oil lingering on my clothes meant I had to change again. I think there needs to be better ventilation and filtration in there, or at least change the oil.

The level on offer here is absolutely amazing. I would never have expected it to be in a place like Helensburgh. Great balanced card, well beyond the basics. Good cocktails and service top. Great shop for a relaxing evening.

This place is a wee gem! We came across it whilst wandering through the town centre. The food was delicious, the service great, and the decor is beautiful. We'll definitely be back!

We would have given 5/5, but after making a reservation 3 days before they did not enter it into their system so when we arrived there was not table f available or booking on their computer’s Having said that a table was found and we had excellent meal and service

We come to Scotland a few times a year and only just found this place. We wish we had found it sooner. One of the best lunches we have ever had. The place itself is very interesting in a lovely building tucked down a ginnel just off the main street. The staff were unbelievable, so polite and helpful they were spot on. The food was top notch came out quickly all together and nice and hot, perfect sized portions. I can't recommend this place enough, we will be going back as soon as we can we loved it

Today my friends and I have had another great lunch. I've been here loads of times with friends, family and as a couple. It never disappoints. The menu is varied, the food is yummy, the service is spot on and always a good atmosphere. A popular place for people in Helensburgh, one of the best.

Popped in for coffee and stickies, very nice billionaires shortbread and good coffee in a very nice setting.

Forehead injury resulting in massive facial bruising sustained on a wrought iron decoration. Staff totally unconcerned when it was reported. No accident write up and no follow up. Photographic evidence of bruising held on my camera.

Stumbled across this place and had a really enjoyable family meal. Staff were great and accommodating and understanding to us having 2 young children. Food was good but not great but won't stop us going back in future.

I had the big bad chicken burger. It was ok but it was quite greasy and the fried chicken could have done with more seasoning and I didn't like the bite feel, it was dry and a touch on the tough side. The chips were nice. The onion rings were mostly batter, I found it unpleasant. It was ok overall. £20.50

Hidden jem! Exceptional food, bursting with flavour. We choose a selection of starter and dined 'tapas' style sharing. Chilled out vibe. Just great.

Higher end Gastro Restaurant with good quality delicious freshly prepared food, on point service and niche setting. Quick service Limited Menu but all delicious all the same, tried two of the dishes both were very good quality for the price. Excellent service, lovely people, happy jolly place , can get noisy and disturbing if you have tinitus like me. So best to book the quite time if you can we found 2p-4pm best.

Absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish Staff were very welcoming and friendly, shown to a great table upstairs. Menu is varied with something for everyone with dishes that are just a little bit different from the usual run of the mill restaurants The service was quick and efficient and the food was delicious, Will definitely come here.

I have dined at Riverhill for years and have loved and recommended the great food and atmosphere but the last four times I have been here my once infallible opinion of the place has reached a new low. Every time I have gone recently the main waiter - Kyle has rushed us no end. "Your order needs to be in by 8pm" "we need this table back by six" "order straight away" " we will have to move you" I drop at least £130 every time I visit - as I visit with family, and honestly this attitude has made me reach the opinion that I refuse to go back. My most recently visit we were rushed again, we paid £110 for food and drinks and when we left he didn't even say "Thank you" the most basic remark in hospitality. Due to this lack of appreciation for custom - I am not going back. There are other restaurants in Helensburgh what have the common courtesy of being appreciative of our custom and have the decency to thank you for the money you spend at their establishment. I'm really disappointed. I have spent so many birthdays, lunches, dinners, catch up, drinks and coffees here. Now though, I'm done.

What a gem. Tucked away from the high street up a small alleyway. Lived up to all its reviews on TripAdvisor. Booked dinner for my wife and I plus son. Great welcome and good vibe. Very friendly welcoming staff. My wife and I had the venison ragu, truly amazing. Son had the burger and was equally impressed. It is a venue where you could go alone, as a couple or group and feel equaly welcome. Definitely go again

Lovely place. Stumbled across it during a very cold trip to town with my husband and our young daughter while looking for some warm, delicious food to heat us up and I am so glad we did. Luckily they were able to seat us upstairs. The decor is fab and my daughter really enjoyed sitting up high and having a birds eye view of the place. Service was great and the food was gorgeous. The only thing that I would point out is that the flat bread that came with my meal was a little tough and quite hard to cut with the knife provided. Reasonably priced also. We will most definitely be back next time we are in town. It's a little hidden gem as the entrance is down an alley way so make sure that you don't miss it.

This was a late Christmas Celebration dinner with friends that could not be fitted in before Christmas and it was so worth waiting for! As always the service here is impeccable but add in the awesome food and ambiance in Riverhill and you are always onto a winner. Grateful thanks to the whole team x
