This was a great little stop off on the way to the coast for us. The cafe does delicious food and drinks; family friendly and doggy snacks too. A nearby park for a walk and swings and slides too.

This little cafe is well worth a visit. Excellent coffee, exceptional cakes and a simple but well done menu. The Park is a wonderful setting and there's plenty of space for children to play.

Brilliant cafe and beautiful location. A group of eight of us called in for lunch on our way to the Yeovil car museum. The food was wonderful, best coffee in the UK so far, and very friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable.

Very good first impressions, nice clean building with a lovely atmosphere and parking right outside. Whilst looking for a cafe as we drove through the area we chose this because of its ratings. The reason we didn’t give it 5 stars was the eggs. Mine was supposed to be scrambled but was more like an omelette under my smoked salmon and my husbands fried eggs were hard, even though he asked for them to make sure they were runny fried eggs. Oh and on here you are supposed to be closed on a Monday, but are obviously not, as we are sat here now. This will not help avid reviewers chose your establishment. Other than those things mentioned above the place is amazing, very sufficient service from some hard working ladies. I would return and I would recommend. I’m very sorry to be the first review that’s not 5 star

I recently met up with friends here for brunch. The friends were local and recommended the River Cale Cafe and I am so glad that they did Everyone enjoyed their food, the vegetarian was very happy. The serving sizes were more than adequate. The staff were cheerful and helpful despite being rushed off their feet

I found this little gem (in a lovely little park in Wincanton), online whilst searching for somewhere to stop for breakfast, as we travel back towards home in the North of England, after holidaying in Dorset. I am disabled and often find obstacles to parking and accessibility, so try to locate suitable venues beforehand. Unfortunately when we arrived the usual entrance/access was blocked by scaffolding, but I am sure that will be short term. My husband still managed to get my wheelchair around the other side of the building, though that would have been very difficult in the event of any rainfall - soggy grass and all that. All of the above notwithstanding, we found River Cale Cafe to be lovely and bright, well thought out with plenty of space, good facilities, and very friendly staff. We had a full English breakfast, and very nice it was too, at a very good price. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely make a return visit. Thank you for creating the lovely eatery that you have.

Lovely staff, coffee made with care and hearty well cooked breakfast using locally sourced ingredients. Every town needs a Cale Cafe and I hope to see some in neighbouring towns nearby in the future because it is the success this well run establishment deserves.

Lovely community run little cafe opposite the church in Martock in a beautiful building made from the local stone, if only the stone could tell the stories it must of witnessed over the years. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and especially as they were in the midst of chaos after losing Internet and card payment facilities they relied on good old paper and pen. Ordered some delicious looking cakes and cream tea for the kids, all giving a big thumbs up. I looked at the specials board and went with a simple cheese and ham toasted sandwich in white bread. Served with a side salad and crisps. Nothing special but also nothing wrong with it, all tasted as expected, freshly made with a pleasing cheese pull without totally burning my mouth. Lovely, welcoming would love to visit again.

Lovely big cups of coffee, cheese scone and bacon on crumpets, followed by a slice of 'cake of the day'. Yummy food and good service.
