Enjoyable evening meal with family and friends (party of 8 plus dog). Very friendly staff, looked after the dog with treats, water and blanket. Food was tasty and arrived quickly. Any minor issues were quickly resolved. Thanks Matt for looking after us

Second time going to the ring o bells for our lunch. Food was lovely both times, ordered the fish and chips and hunters chicken, parents had mixed grills. Service was outstanding, especially Stacey, she made us feel welcome and couldn’t help enough. She was polite and friendly all the way through our visits. 5* food and 5* service.

Fantastic. What a beautiful pub. The food was exceptional as were the surroundings and atmosphere. We had a lovely welcome from Chloe and the service from her was superb. It was an absolute pleasure to be served by her and the meal was piping hot and delicious. My compliments to the chef for the quality of service too. 100 percent we will be visiting again soon. Went for a meal with hubby and daughter, been once before and Stacey served us, she was very polite and welcoming both times and kept checking we were ok with our meal and drinks. Would definitely go again.

Lovely Sunday lunch with family and Ruby the Jack Russel. Great menu with a nice choice, most of us opted for the Sunday roast, the beef just melted, highly recommended. Staff we're nice and friendly. Will definitely return. We booked a table for 6pm, we arrived a little early so didn't expect it to be ready and we're happy to sit and have a drink after being assured it would be ready for 6pm, we were eventually seated at 6.15. We ordered about 6.25 and it was 7pm before our meals started to arrive. All meals came except for the child's meal, we eventually had to ask for this as we had almost finished our meals. When it arrived we were told they were waiting for the sausages to finish cooking and that we would not have to pay for it. 5 mins later another member of staff came to apologise and said they had to wait for the beans to heat! 2 people ordered chicken breast in BBQ sauce, this was not a chicken breast just a couple of breast fillets, the seasonal salad with the steak was just a bit of frilly lettuce nothing else...to me this should not be classed as a salad! Upon asking for the bill they had still charged for the child's meal that they had said we would not be charged for. This was our first visit and will also be our last.

Went here with 3 friends for a Friday evening meal. Friends all described their meal as “ok but nothing special”. My meal was very poor. I’d ordered the Korean chicken…..I hadn’t realised that the Koreans like to present their chicken breast over cooked, no tenderness and hard to chew. I think that rather than avoid Korean offerings in future, I’ll avoid returning to this pub, which makes Wetherspoons look like fine dining. Service was very good from the waiting staff. Difficult to understand why the kitchen/bar staff congregate at the entrance to the car park for a chat and cigarettes. Harder to understand why they refuse to move off the driveway to allow cars to pass them.

New kitchen team delivered a great breakfast for us all including the little ones. Staff were helpful and friendly and gave us lots of room for the pram and little one to move around. Coffee was also great!

One of the nicest pub gardens we have visited. Sitting out on a sunny March day after a lovely local walk with our sprocker. Food was excellent and staff friendly. We will be back.

I took a break during a long walk in the countryside and found that lunch had just begun to be served. So I dedided to get a meal going for the Whitby Scampi, chips and peas. This arrived very well cooked and went down a treat indeed being very tasty. And the price, £8.49 was very good too.

Let’s start with the positive. The food was lovely and we received a discount with the desserts and coffee taken off the bill. However, it seems that so much of order was delayed, had errors - incorrect orders, with the main one being a replacement by the chef of the vegan ice cream with vanilla ice cream as they had run out of vegan kind. Fortunately spotted before a disaster. Given the question about allergens at the beginning that was a major faux par. Sadly overall a poor experience.

Came here with my girlfriend for brunch and the food was excellent! We came early on a Sunday so it was quiet but the decor was lovely and the food was very good. The surroundings were nice as well and we'll definitely be coming back again soon!

"Have you booked?" were the opening words from the waitress when my friend and I took our seats. "No I havent, is it booking only now?" I enquired. "The staff need time to prepare meals, and we're short, so its booking only." I asked as to whether I should go and was informed that I could have drinks only. This was about 1.50pm on Wednesday 14th February 2024. The pub was hardly bursting at the seams, and had plenty of space although quite a few folk were enjoying their meals. In essence, I felt like we were an inconvenience, and not welcome. As we left, I asked the barmaid if this was a new thing, or just today. She replied that they still do "Some walk ins." I found this whole episode bizarre, as we have had many great meals here, and even held our mother's funeral gathering at Ring O bells. The reception we got today, was brisk and frosty, and it was almost like we had walked into the middle of an argument or something. Very, very odd. No mention of booking only on your website or Google maps. Come on Ring O bells, you can do better than this

Visited today 14/2 /24 walked from canal we were not greeted on arrival waiting had to approach a member of staff and ask if we could have a table for 4 and we were told we had to book a table very rude and unhelpful it didn’t seem that busy it was lunch time would not recommend this pub at lunchtime we visited last Saturday night and had a different experience it was first class hence why we returned what a difference one member of staff makes will not return

First time trying this place, food seemed a little cold & 1 dish had to be returned. Nice pub inside & staff were fine, but disappointing meals, but I would give it a 2nd chance at some point.

It was very nice the furniture was very stained and the toilets were a but worn and shabby. Could do with furniture being cleaned. Food was really tasty with a good selection. A little pricey for lunch though.

If I could give 0 stars for food I would. Food was freezing, ridiculously over priced and genuinely looked and tasted like everything had been in a microwave. Staff didn't look like they knew what day it was. Do not recommend. Unsure if this place is under new management but needs attention ASAP.

We went here for Christmas day and never haveing been out for Christmas Dinner before we didn't know what to expect. Safe to say that after today we have decided we will be going out every year from now on and have already booked our table for next year. The atmosphere was lovely, friendly and relaxed and the food absolutely gorgeous. The team were wonderful, nothing was to much for them and can not thank them all enough for such a enjoyable meal today.

Went for Christmas meal recently. Main course, turkey, was very nice, but the dessert, a sort of ice cream Sundae was quite frozen and not that pleasant to eat. Service was poor TBQH and very slow.

My wife and wider family had a Christmas evening here last night and unfortunately there experience was awful. It appeared that the managers that we have known for years where not in and the team left in charge just did not have a clue about service. No Christmas music or atmosphere, food took absolutely ages to arrive, every course had to be chased and when it arrived it was very poor to say the least. The bar top was full of used glasses, very poor presentation when you walk through the door. It’s a great pity as the restaurant used to be consistently great, with lovely service

Just called in for a family meal, and it was amazing.

Food was great, service was exceptionally slow, food came out warm not piping hot, edible hot but not what was expected from a restaurant. The place was fairly busy, but if food is played, serve it, don’t let it sit and go warm. Sunday at 4:30 we arrived. Ordered drinks which also took over 20 minutes to come, food was then ordered and it was sadly 35 mins before 3 out of the four got our meals, a further 5 mins before the fourth meal arrived. Bad service that. Staff were lovely, and attentive when we seen them, but what’s the point if no one even says ‘look we are busy so service might be a little slower than normal, hope that is okay’ we’d have accepted it but it was silence.

Awful, this is the 2nd time in three months that we have had a bad experience, table of six of us, they kept us waiting on both occaisions for over an hour and a half for our food, drinks not brought to the table when ordered them for ages, we complained to be told they are short staffed and due to us having had starters that was why our main courses took so long!! People were coming in and being served before us. Food below average, we will definately not be going back.

Seemed nice enough, but insisting on putting us on a tiny table in a corridor, when the pub was empty soured the experience, didn't stay, went to The Hatton Arms instead.

Fish, chips and peas. Fish lukewarm, chips cold, mushy peas freezing. Other peoples food was good. Wouldn't complain due to it being a celebration party and didn't want to spoil the occasion.

When I complained about some aspects of my meal, I was refunded without any fuss, which I think is good service. The Beer was well kept.

A half hr wait on food which arrived cold and had to be replaced table was put right in corner as only two people requested a move which they did but no apology for wait time service etc

Fantastic atmosphere, lovely young lady serving and great food, reasonable price. Arrived with my friend just prior to opening, so had a pot of tea each, ordered food later. Car park was empty bar staff vehicles and a white car behind me. It became very busy very quickly here as too did the car park. Onlg gripe I have, which is not the Ring O Bells fault AT ALL, but the car park is not the biggest...came back to my car after a visit and if I had had a passenger in my car they wouldn't have been able to get in..so much so I don't know how the inconsiderate car owner got out of theirs!! Only thing that sadly would put me off future visits.

Food is fantastic, pub is large but lots of small rooms so it feels nice and cosy, our waiter Matt was exactly the right amount of attentive, it was great.

Went here for a christening and the food is sublime and on another level to other pubs I've been to. Staff were lovely and friendly, atmosphere was good and the Sunday roasts looked gorgeous.

Really nice and cosy pub. Friendly staff and some really nice glasses to have our drinks in, enjoyed the atmosphere and the old coins embedded in the table was a classic touch!

Whilst the staff were quite pleasant, we waited a long time for our food to come on a night which was not busy. When the food did come, all 4 of our table had different main meals, which were bland and the pies in particular were inedible, they had a very hard pastry, a small amount of filling and the vegetables were cold. When you are paying £14-15 for a pie, you expect more.

we came here for lunch and the food was delicious. staff were lovely and great service. dog friendly as well which we love. Sat in Marvin's corner and our dog chloe even got her photo on the mirror. 100% will be back
