Eight Towers in Halton

The Eight Towers has now become our favourite pub for food. We call in at least once a week and have done for a quite a while. Honestly, we've never had a bad meal there. The menu is quite extensive with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. Today, Sun 4th of May we called in for Sunday lunch. Had the Leek soup with nice bread and Prawn Cocktail for starters. Soup was nice and hot with lovely bread and the Prawn Cocktail was delicious. We then had a small beef lunch and a large Turkey lunch. So nice. Plenty of food on the plate. Meat, roasties, mash, loads of veg, pigs in blankets, Yorkshires, stuffing and nice gravy. We ordered extra roasties which we had to take home as the large dinner completely filled me up and I have a massive appetite. What I like about the Eight Towers is that it's a very friendly pub, with 2 distinct sections. There's a side for those who just want to have a few drinks, pool table etc and on the other side, lots of tables for people to eat. There's also a conservatory with tables. The place is always spotless clean and every time we go, a member of staff checks our order to make sure it's correct. I don't know why other places don't do the same, as it cuts down on any potential wrong food orders. Also, the staff here are really friendly and on the ball with everything. We never seem to wait long for our food, even when the place is really busy. All in all, The Eight Towers is a pub we really like and enjoy going to. Would highly recommend a visit for drinks and definitely for food.

Nice to see space between tables as a lot of pubs seem to cram tables in but plenty of room. Out waitress Ellie was a credit to you . She got the care spot on making sure everything was going fine without being intrusive and even handled my husband when he said the food was dreadful even though his plate was cleared. Was our first visit and will be first of many.

Never had a bad meal here. The staff always look after you well and tables are always cleared very quickly. Great local pub.

Good service both to make and check the order for the food and drinks were right, which doesn't usually happen in other places, so we were impressed. Friendly staff and the food was very nice and cooked how we requested. Checks were made to make sure we were happy with the food and if we needed anything else. Overall a very pleasant visit, thank you We will be back again

We have been coming here to eat and drink as a family for 11 years as we live on the Weates.. Our 4 year old is an extremely fussy eater and at her current age, she will only eat and drink certain things, this being drink milk or as a treat, a milkshake. Previously when we have been here and we have asked for milk for her and we have been told they don’t do milk so she can only have water. Today, we have come here as a family of 5 to eat and drink for lunch and have taken with us a Mcdonalds milkshake for our 4 yr old with us for our daughter so she had a drink she likes before ordering food and drinks for the rest of us. Upon being seated we was told by the barman that we cannot bring a milkshake in for her. We explained that she wont drink anything there which is why we brought her milkshake as she only drinks milk or milkshake. He then said they do offer milk (last month the same barman told me she couldnt have milk??).. we asked to speak to the manager and he also said we couldn’t bring her milkshake in.. We were gobsmacked by this. I could understand if we was bringing in a bottle of wine or whisky to drink but this is a 4 year old girl who who is fussy and they don't provide drinks she likes.. Considering the amount of money we have spent in there over the past 11 years and to be regulars, the service we got today was absolutely appalling. Is the management new? After attempting to explain with reason and to no avail, I find what happened today as absolutely gobsmacking and struggle to see the logical thought process of their thinking and decision making! The past few visits have resulted in poor cooked food (steak) that was served and while we wanted to try again today as it can be hit and miss, we will no longer eat or drink there again and and they have now lost a long standing family customer! Subsequently, we went on to the Church View Inn, who welcomed us very well. We explained what happened and asked if we was allowed to bring our 4 yr old daughter in with her milkshake and the barman, while looking dumbfounded said yes of course no problem… Likely response to this - its Marstons company policy… Maybe so, however, know your customers, treat them well and they will continue return if the quality and service is good! We are just one family of 5, our eldest child has been coming here from age 5, the second and third child both from birth and thats now 11 years custom ceased - over a milkshake for a 4 year old child - Not to worry eh!

Came with my mum for her birthday as a little treat. Lovely food, enjoyed every bite. The staff are really friendly and polite, especially the girl who was dropping our food etc (young girl, dark hair and glasses) Will definitely be back again soon!

I don’t normally do reviews but I think this definitely was the right time I’ve just tried chips peas and chicken an mushroom pie honestly it was the best dinner I’ve had in a long time it’s off the new menu I will definitely be getting it again well worth a try

The boss of the pub is horrible he kicked me, my sister and my mum out the pub, he said we were drunk when we weren't being aggressive or angry he mentioned we were talking about the bar staff when we were talking about something else he reported to ring the police but police wouldn't of done anything because we weren't aggressive or giving staff abuse we will not be coming here again

Attended the Amazing Towers Jam event yesterday for an end of summer family day out. The whole day was brilliant, our boys danced none stop from start to finish (with one ending the evening on stage living his best life with oasis and a tambourine) The staff worked so hard and deserve a massive well done. All of the acts were really good. We enjoyed the whole day and are looking forward to next year! Thanks for a wonderful day out!

Visited PM Thursday 9th Aug 2024 for lunch. The pub has a nice, traditional feel with a bar area where you walk in then there's lots of tables and a conservatory for people dining. The staff are extremely friendly and efficient. Drinks were served straight away and our food was delivered very quickly. We were asked if we had any allergies prior to eating which was very considerate. We had starters and mains which were absolutely delicious and very nicely presented. Staff checked again to make sure food was to our liking. No wait either between starter and mains which was great. We would have no hesitation in recommending The 8 Towers for food, or even just a relaxed drink if that's what you want.

Went with friends, great tasty meal and great service. Very reasonably priced as well - had a lovely time - good atmosphere - Definitely go again

Ate here on Sunday after family gathering, ordered 2 steaks mine was lovely, wifes was undercooked sent it back only to have it returned on the same plate[blood still on plate) with same chips and half eaten tomato, steak was still underdone, waitress said i will speak to chef, but nobody came back to us, really poor service and will not go again and would not recommend

I ordered a turkey roast ,which was chicken and overcooked I wouldn’t have even give it my dog ! the service was miserable. Most of all the pigs in blankets where white and peeling the so called bacon was more like crisp ham I honestly couldn’t swallow this my friend gagged from this roast dinner in the car park it was beyond a bad experience no wonder it had 30 percent off !!

Lovely evening so went with my partner and daughter for a meal. On the more expensive side for pub food but thought it’d be nice to sit outside and eat, felt the quality will be good. I’m sure there was still marks on the steak when the jockey was whipping it in the national. The majority of my 8oz steak was fat and gristle but I ate what I could. There was no seasoning on the steak so it was just a hunk of meat. There wasn’t much in the way of accompaniment, a pathetic couple of chips, a few peas and two of the smallest onion rings I’ve seen. In short goto Spoons, cheaper as it includes your drink, more food and better quality… Never thought I’d say that!

Went to the eight towers for some lunch with the family and can not complain one bit! Food was lovely and served very hot. All staff was very welcoming and lovely to even have a chat with or a bit of banter. Will be going again soon!!

Tried the new menu, which was the new kebab on pita bread. Have to say it was lovely, couldn't fault it at all. Staff friendly and helpful

Turned up with 10 of us and staff was happy to find us a table all together all starters come out together then mains was cooked perfectly

We are 4 ladies who meet up every couple of months for a meal and a catch up. Last night 7th February we had a meal at 8 towers . Not a lot if people in wd sat in the conservatory . We all had different meals and every meal was beautiful . Taste presentation and quantity. Can totally recommend this place and will be going back . The staff were lovely friendly and helpful . The tikka masala I had was gorgeous and the best nan bread I've ever tasted . Well done 👏

Went for food and a few drinks with the family, the service was spectacular. The food is delicious, you definetly get what you pay for. I would recommend the veg chilli or the cauliflower wings, and I confidently say I will be returning some time soon
