Ring O'Bells in Halton

Poor experience, after booking table for six in advance, we were told inno uncertain terms that we would not be served at our table in the bar. We had to move ten feet into the quiet restaurant where food was eventually served at the table. Waitress spent most of her time talking to the barman in the bar! Won't be returning.

Loved visiting this gorgeous pub, it has a lovely atmosphere and is full of history, lots of show . The outdoor area is beautiful with plenty of spaces to sit and enjoy. Staff friendly and helpful.

Great food, maybe a little pricey but lovely service. We were there early on a Wednesday evening so it was very quiet hence only 3 stars for atmosphere, the background music could be a little higher during quiet periods so it feels more atmospheric. Good pub though.

I had same chicken burger item as another person on our table but requested without bacon on mine. When they arrived together I said mine is the one without bacon and then they were taken back to kitchen without explanation. We both got no bacon on return and the burger was subpar having been rushed with unmelted grated cheese on top. Need to improve training and not send poorly finished food out.

Lovely pub in a gorgeous setting. We went for a family meal, we were greeted by friendly staff who were very attentive. Our waiter Matt was extremely helpful We were served quickly and all our table had meals served at the same time Food was absolutely delicious 😋 we will return Manager Jamie is a kind host too We will return to enjoy sitting out in the patio area and trying the lunches

Food was all fine and as expected. Kids meals were good value at £8 for main and pudding. Went on a Monday evening. Hadn't booked but were told we could sit in the bar. Wasn't a particularly warm welcome though - maybe an off day. Seemed to be a little short staffed or have new staff as had a bit of an issue ordering but it was all resolved in the end.

Lovely Sunday roast with family.

Steak pie :) a proper pie, good n meaty with a complete crust.. 10/10. The wife had a fish dish which she enjoyed too. Highly Recommend *****

Had a lovely meal with friends on Monday night. We were served by Matt who made sure we had everything we needed and was very friendly. Food was lovely and arrived quickly. We will be coming back again.

Visited with 2 friends on a quiet Saturday lunchtime. Unfortunately it didn't go well, we had to return 3 out the 6 dishes we ordered. Even then none of the 3 returned meals were satisfactory. 2 of us ordered the fishcake starter which comes with a poached egg on top. Both eggs were overcooked & hard, so we commented to the wait staff & they offered to redo the dish. After some time, approx 20 mins, during which the other person felt uncomfortable eating her meal, the fishcakes returned with new poached eggs. Unfortunately it then became obvious that the original fishcake had been kept warm under a heat lamp along with the original salad, lemon wedge & sauce ! Not nice. We then tried desserts, the sticky toffee pudding arrived cold, really cold & again the wait staff offered to return it to the kitchen. Again when it came back it was marginally warmer & a dense solid. Inedible What a disaster, somebody in the kitchen didn't know what they were doing. Even though the cost of the 3 meals was removed from the bill we won't be returning.

me and my girlfriend of 2 years went here for a nice relaxing evening meal and we had the best service by salem they had a warm and welcoming smile and it really helped improve the atmosphere for the time we spent also the food was magnificent it was one of the best meals i’d ate in a good few months overall very happy with all being said

Our sever today was Salem she went above and beyond for myself and my family from the moment we walked in to the time we left no job was too big or too small for us she entertained our children too one is highly autistic and sometimes quite the handful whatever he asked for she done it for him even entertaining him a little while we enjoyed our meal which never happens in any other place that we go we will 110% be coming back after today Just want to say thank you to Salem for everything by far one of the best servers we’ve ever had thank you to all your staff for the amazing meal and service but especially Salem she’s renewed out trust with servers because some can be down right ignorant towards our son

Came here for a meal with my family and the food was fantastic. Fair prices and the waitress Salem was very helpful and cheerful.

Local produce it seems, loved the sausages and mash , the peas could be better but overall really tasty food.

came here for the first time to try the sunday roast and was greeted by salem. salem had a smile on her face everytime we saw her and was always quick to be with us when we needed her.

we were very disappointed this time we arrived for our booked table .We had to wait for drinks and then had to wait over 45 mins for the food to arrive when it did it was dried up and uneatable at no point were we advised the food would be delayed we were offered a replacement but couldn’t wait another 45 mins for food so we just left What a shame

Unfortunately are latest visit on the 10th April was not the best we have had here . The real ale beer was awful and I am a regular cask ale drinker but could not finish this drink . Ordered drinks but never came , found them sitting on the bar when we left . Food wise was just ok , chips very over done or recooked . Vegetables had seen better days also and looked like they have been sitting around for a while . Had an issue with a food voucher email we had from Chef and brewers , took a long time at the till to sort out , the gentleman helping us did do his best to fix this issue so credit is due here to him . I would say it appeared there was new staff on and although not busy at all , the pub area didn’t look clean and service was very slow . Unfortunately it wouldn’t be my 1st place to think of for a meal until they up their game a little more which hopefully they will

The garlic bread and cheese was extremely cheesy and atmosphere was really dead and quiet. Had amazing service from elisha the waitress who made me feel at home.

The barbecue chicken strips were absolutely delightful almost as delightful as our waitress Elisha she was lovely to have and made me feel so welcomed as soon as we arrived.

Kris is an asset to the place, lovely, friendly professional. Food was exquisite, will definately return. Highly recommend for a nice family meal. Pistachio and white Chocolate tart is amazing

We had a lovely family get together at the Ring of Bells. We were made very welcome all the staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly. Stacey was our server and she went over and above to make sure we had a good time.

Such a shame. We had been a few weeks ago and it was great, so decided to return. Sadly this wasn't a good experience. Drinks were confused or forgotten Chefs sharing board was like a n Iceland party food platter, sea bass was ok but potatoes were burnt. Smothered chicken was burnt and tough. The manager was great, he listened and reduced the bill. I definitely won't be returning.

The food was mediocre. Two friends had steaks that were barely warm. The meat pies were a bit "industrial". No5 very inspiring.

If I could award 6 stars for staff I would, the manager was extremely helpful letting my mum taste wine before buying shame he is temp . All other staff lovely , my mum had risotto she loved it , I only had steak sandwich , definitely be returning, back on our go to, after a few years forgetting how nice the pub is .

We visited today on our way home from a weekend away in wales. A lady called Stacey greeted us with a warm welcome served us drinks and seated us for our meal. The food was amazing and we loved the nod to Lewis carol’s Alice in wonderland. Highly recommend. We’re all mad here

Friendly staff and an ok pub meal but nothing to rave about, hard to get fish and chips wrong but definitely overcooked. Also we booked well in advance but the table was not the best with staff squeezing by. So no complaints but not a repeat venue of choice for us . Sorry chaps 😢

We put in a Google map search for a pub with a decent review score off the M56 whilst we were travelling home. The Ring O’Bells came up with a decent reviews. The pub is lovely, staff friendly and we were served by Ciara who was really friendly and helpful. We had a late lunch and both went for the 4oz Rump steak sandwich with fries. It was really tasty and we ordered some sides which we didn’t really need as the meal itself was deceptively filling. Really lovely pub and tasty food and would definitely go again.

Excellent birthday celebration meal. Ciara was superb, bril table service with a smile.

Enjoyed my visit to this pub/restaurant yesterday. Food was very good, just would have preferred the batter to be lighter on the hake I ordered, other than that, it was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. The automated telephone system was a bit frustrating when trying to get in touch but they explained when we arrived that we should just ask to speak to a member of staff and that will get us through to a person

I love service with a smile and Stacey who was our waitress done just that and was very sociable. We only had a main course and a pint and the service was very quick and I would highly recommend.

Visited on a Monday evening, it was quiet but it could not be faulted. Service from Matt was amazing.

Ellis and the team took exceptional care of us during our visit. The beef roast was outstanding, accompanied by top-notch Yorkshire puddings. The food was served promptly and at the perfect temperature. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. I couldn't find a single fault with the experience. Highly recommended!

I only put 1 star to enable the review. I booked a table for the burns night menu, we arrived by taxi to be told you had run out of several items and specifically haggis, the main ingredient for a burns night dinner. I asked why you were accepting bookings when you had run out (I only booked shortly before we came) and was told it’s not their fault they can’t turn the booking system off. Well it certainly isn’t your customers fault! So taxi booked to return home leaving us over £20 out of pocket on taxis and not having eaten. Very disappointing

Absolutely love coming to the Ring O Bells in Daresbury. A really cozy atmosphere, amazing food and super friendly staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the front of house, and back of house teams. Their friendly and accomdating service keeps us coming back time after time. Also... the kitche staff know how to cook steak to perfection. Special shout out to ciara, we were an absolute pain, but you were so helpful and lovely. Thank you.

I booked the Ring O Bells for a Burns night meal on Saturday. When we decided to order, many of the items weren't on the menu, including the haggis. I said "but it's Burns Night, how can you not have haggis "?.I was told that they had a busy Friday night and they had ran out of some items. My fiancee persuaded me not to make a fuss but I wasn't happy. I'd paid for taxis to and from the place and was promised a Burns Night meal. I wouldn't have gone if I'd have known that the main meal wasn't even available. We chose other options but if I had driven to the place, we would have left.I feel cheated.

A Burns Night disappointment. This evening was booked 4 months ago. Arrived only to be told the advertised Carefully curated 4 course menu, was not available. The evening just felt like a normal night, nothing Scottish at all. In previous years they'd had a Piper, so we all felt very misled. The serving staff did their best, but this disappointment falls on the management team, if they even have one any more, as recent visits have been a similar let down with cold food being a regular occurance. It isn't cheap to eat out anymore, so it saddens me to say we won't be visiting the Ring O Bells again.

We had a really lovely Sunday lunch. The food was perfect, the surroundings are lovely and the experience was made all the better by our wonderful server Nemo. We enjoyed so much we have already booked our next visit!

This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. Booked a table for the 4 course Burns Night dinner at 6pm. After being informed of they has already run out of one of the starter and main options, we waited an hour before any food arrived and they then tried to bring out the first two courses together so that one plate of food was going cold while we ate the other. After complaining, the second course was taken back into the kitchen. We then waited a further 30 minutes only to be told that they had now run out of the second course which was the haggis which is the main dish for Burns night. We finally gave up after this and left
