Ring O'Bells in Halton

We called on for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Although the restaurant was quite busy, the service from Nemo was truly excellent - he was friendly, attentive and very efficient, showing a real commitment to delivering the best customer experience. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced - we ordered fish & chips, scampi, and a chicken & bacon wrap. The sticky toffee pudding and Bramley apple pie with ice cream desserts were in generous portions, and delicious too. Highly recommended!

Excellent service, lovely staff, and lovely food with great choice. It was quieter than usual, the Manager explained that this was due to the roadworks on Daresbury Express Way.

Nemo gave great table service and was very informative about the menu's. The food, the Guinness and wine was excellent as usual and we will be returning very soon.

Visited with friends for lunch. Beautiful food and surroundings and server Nemo was very attentive and friendly. Only downside, not being able to tip by card when none of us had any cash. Will remember this for our next visit.

Lovely impromptu Saturday afternoon lunch, great vegan options, good portion sizes and cosy atmosphere and fabulous service from Nemo x Nothing was too much trouble, always leave feeling content! We will be back x

Booked for a party of 25 to celebrate my mother's life. We had a separate room which was well set out when we arrived and tea and coffee were waiting for us.The buffet was of a very high standard and dishes were even replenished when empty.Excellent deserts were also provided.Thanks so much to all involved for making this such a pleasant experience.

We had a fantastic breakfast this morning on the latest of a few visits this year. We were lucky to have a table next to the warm fire and were looked after as always by the staff! Highly recommended for breakfast, Sunday roast or an evening meal.

Nimo was attentive and did an ex ellent job.

Terribly slow service. Took 3.5 hours to have our meal. Things came out at wrong time, items were missing off plates, food was tepid and had clearly been waiting a long time to be served. Waitress passed food down the table rather than serve to the right person, table very close together. . We had to look for staff to give us the bill, it arrived within a very few minutes. No apology was offered for service

Having read some of the recent reviews, it looks like this place is a sinking ship. "Have you booked?" were the frosty opening words from the waitress when my friend and I took our seats. "No, I haven't, is it booking only now?" I enquired. "The staff need time to prepare meals, and we're short, so its booking only" was the chilly response. I asked as to whether I should leave, and was informed that I could have drinks only and no food. This was about 1.50pm on Wednesday 14th February 2024. The pub was hardly bursting at the seams, and had plenty of space although quite a few folk were enjoying their meals. In essence, I felt like we were an inconvenience and not welcome. As we left, I asked the barmaid if this was a new thing, or just today. She replied that they still do "Some walk ins." I found this whole episode bizarre, as we have had many great meals here in the past, and even held our mother's funeral gathering at Ring O bells. The reception we got today was brisk and frosty, and it was almost like we had walked into the middle of an argument or something. There are obviously some serious staffing issues here, and they all look demoralised. Very, very odd. NO mention of booking only on your website or Google maps. How are your customers meant to know its booking only, if you dont advertise it? Come on Ring O bells, you can do much better than this, sort yourselves out!

Sunday Lunch. A treat not to cook in a Sunday especially with a Sunday offer. 2 courses £20 each. Garlic mushrooms on sourdough was lovely. Trio of meats with rosemary potatoes plenty of veg and a Yorkshire pudding. Very nice pub great atmosphere and super service for our waitress Ciara, very friendly and helpful. Went for Sunday dinner. We've been a few times and it's always been great. It was a massive disappointment this time. I had the beef, which the menu said was served pink. It was bone dry! There was a lot of it, though. It said it was served with seasonal root vegetables. There was one, very small parsnip! The roast potatoes were a weird texture. Crispy but greasy. The mashed carrot and swede was only half mashed and half diced. The gravy was only on the meat, so the Yorkshire pudding was dry. The gravy was extremely thick and dark brown. I looked like Bisto and didn't taste of much. For pudding I ordered the sticky toffee pudding. On the menu is said it was served with coconut icecream and had a sugar crumb. There was no sugar crumb and it was plain icecream and only half a scoop. The pudding was very tasty but there was a lot of sultanas in the toffee sauce, which was just odd. The service was terribly slow. For a good 45 minutes there was only one person serving the whole of the very busy conservatory section. Finally, only one disabled parking spot on the property isn't very accessible friendly.

Awful service today, staff could not have cared less. Food took over an hour to arrive and was cold. Honestly would not return.

I go most weeks here, never actually left a review! In short; in the summer it's got a really well kept beer garden, really nice in the sunset around 6, then in the winter it's got a roaring fireplace in the bar area which we love. We have a dog and he loves it and gets lots of fuss. Going to pubs after a dog walk is where most of my disposable income goes and this is a top3 pub for me.

Amazing pub. So dog friendly, the staff are always lovely and welcoming and the food and drink is reliably excellent. There are plenty of veggie options and we always really enjoy the food.

Went for a birthday lunch with my family. Myself and my partner ordered the 8oz rump stake. When it arrived, I found that mine was so tough I could not eat it. My partners was similar, but she was just about managed to eat hers. When I complained, I was told it was a problem with the meat supplier, and there was nothing they could other than swap it for something else. So i just set it back i didn't think the response was very good at all. I have been here in the past and had very good food and service, but I have since discovered that this pub has been taken over one of the big food chains. I don't think I will be going again.

We really enjoyed our meal there tonight! The food was amazing and it was a very warm and friendly atmosphere! They went above and beyond to cater for our needs, all the staff were lovely and helpful. Our dog loved it there too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a wonderful first date here. I rarely find a vegan dessert option when at a pub, never mind multiple! Beautiful Bakewell tart, very sweet and patient service. Would love to return for a full meal and try more beers. Thank you!

Very bad experience with the food but drinks were not charged for. Still unlikely to return. Steak sandwich was the worst! Overcooked, no roasted or crispy onion. Chunks of raw onion instead. Usually delicious merlot and beef dripping gravy not given either. Just a basic gravy. Massive disappointment. Server was lovely however.

We sat down at 4pm and waited 10 minutes to take our order. At 4.50pm we had not received our starter, yet the table behind us who ordered after us had eaten their meal. 5 minutes later our meal arrived but it was not our starter but our main course. We sent it back, waited another 5 minutes before our starter turned up. In the meantime another table with 5 people had ordered and we're eating their meal and we were still waiting. What a shambles. We paid for our drinks and left. By the way the soup starter was nearly cold. Won't be returning anytime soon

Great country pub that offers tasty food in a relaxed setting. Ample parking and lovely outdoor seating areas. Been many times and food is hot, well presented and quick service. Staff were attentive and always helpful. Will be back soon.

I didn't know this place existed. I had to pull over in my truck for the night and parked up the road. Very friendly staff. Ordered a bacon burger and was spot on. Will definitely come again.

After a really busy day yesterday, we decided not to cook today and came to the Ring o'Bells instead. We were not disappointed and enjoyed our Sunday roast. The staff were as cheerful and helpful as ever, despite having served 288 people when they would normally have expected 150. Thanks, everyone!

Following a visit to All Saints Daresbury on Sunday 8th September we had booked in here for lunch as the Ring O Bells is always a great place to meet and have a good catch up, never too busy and never too noisy. We had excellent service this time from Ellie and the food was good but certain elements of the Sunday roasts were not up to usual the beef in particular was not as pink or tender as we have previously enjoyed. Overall though a great lunch and catch up Thank You!

Took our Australian granddaughter & partner for a meal after a visit to the Lewis Carroll church. We all enjoyed both places. The meals we had were very well prepared and the main comment was this is the best meal we've had. We have been eating out for a number of days, so high praise indeed!

Prompt service, clean tables and nice, ordinary pub food. Ciara was a friendly server who has lots of good interpersonal skills…. essential in the role, but not always evident when you go out for a meal. An asset to the management.

Visited a few times now as it’s one of our locals and the staff are so friendly and attentive- especially the female owner/manager. We’re always made to feel so welcome and the dog gets a fuss too which he absolutely loves 😂 and he got a cooked sausage and biscuits too - in his element 🥰 The food is stunning and service is prompt and friendly.

We’ve been here three times for Sunday lunch and loved it every time. Our favorite is slow cooked beef rib. They also have a large and beautiful beer garden. Service is always great, and atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Ciara was lovely and helpful. Will definitely come again.

Stopped off for lunch and we shared the Chef's board. It was absolutely delicious. The food on the platter was classics with a twist and I can't recommend it highly enough. Great value for money.
