Booked last minute on a Saturday evening and we were seated without problem. Ciara was attentive and friendly throughout the evening, and the food was delicious - especially the brownie.

Great food and reasonably priced!

We put in a Google map search for a pub with a decent review score off the M56 whilst we were travelling home. The Ring O’Bells came up with a decent reviews. The pub is lovely, staff friendly and we were served by Ciara who was really friendly and helpful. We had a late lunch and both went for the 4oz Rump steak sandwich with fries. It was really tasty and we ordered some sides which we didn’t really need as the meal itself was deceptively filling. Really lovely pub and tasty food and would definitely go again.

Enjoyed my visit to this pub/restaurant yesterday. Food was very good, just would have preferred the batter to be lighter on the hake I ordered, other than that, it was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. The automated telephone system was a bit frustrating when trying to get in touch but they explained when we arrived that we should just ask to speak to a member of staff and that will get us through to a person

Visited on a Monday evening, it was quiet but it could not be faulted. Service from Matt was amazing.

Ellis and the team took exceptional care of us during our visit. The beef roast was outstanding, accompanied by top-notch Yorkshire puddings. The food was served promptly and at the perfect temperature. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. I couldn't find a single fault with the experience. Highly recommended!

I only put 1 star to enable the review. I booked a table for the burns night menu, we arrived by taxi to be told you had run out of several items and specifically haggis, the main ingredient for a burns night dinner. I asked why you were accepting bookings when you had run out (I only booked shortly before we came) and was told it’s not their fault they can’t turn the booking system off. Well it certainly isn’t your customers fault! So taxi booked to return home leaving us over £20 out of pocket on taxis and not having eaten. Very disappointing

Absolutely love coming to the Ring O Bells in Daresbury. A really cozy atmosphere, amazing food and super friendly staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the front of house, and back of house teams. Their friendly and accomdating service keeps us coming back time after time. Also... the kitche staff know how to cook steak to perfection. Special shout out to ciara, we were an absolute pain, but you were so helpful and lovely. Thank you.

I booked the Ring O Bells for a Burns night meal on Saturday. When we decided to order, many of the items weren't on the menu, including the haggis. I said "but it's Burns Night, how can you not have haggis "?.I was told that they had a busy Friday night and they had ran out of some items. My fiancee persuaded me not to make a fuss but I wasn't happy. I'd paid for taxis to and from the place and was promised a Burns Night meal. I wouldn't have gone if I'd have known that the main meal wasn't even available. We chose other options but if I had driven to the place, we would have left.I feel cheated.

We had a really lovely Sunday lunch. The food was perfect, the surroundings are lovely and the experience was made all the better by our wonderful server Nemo. We enjoyed so much we have already booked our next visit!

A Burns Night disappointment. This evening was booked 4 months ago. Arrived only to be told the advertised Carefully curated 4 course menu, was not available. The evening just felt like a normal night, nothing Scottish at all. In previous years they'd had a Piper, so we all felt very misled. The serving staff did their best, but this disappointment falls on the management team, if they even have one any more, as recent visits have been a similar let down with cold food being a regular occurance. It isn't cheap to eat out anymore, so it saddens me to say we won't be visiting the Ring O Bells again.

This was the worst dining experience I have ever had. Booked a table for the 4 course Burns Night dinner at 6pm. After being informed of they has already run out of one of the starter and main options, we waited an hour before any food arrived and they then tried to bring out the first two courses together so that one plate of food was going cold while we ate the other. After complaining, the second course was taken back into the kitchen. We then waited a further 30 minutes only to be told that they had now run out of the second course which was the haggis which is the main dish for Burns night. We finally gave up after this and left

Had such a lovely time at the Ring O’ Bells, the food and drinks are amazing. Special shout-out to our server Emily who was on hand to make our first visit memorable!! We will definitely be back for more!!

Had a mid week meal very disappointed very poor for the price we paid 2 course meal for two.I am sorry but we will not be visiting ever again the main courses was dreadful and the only reason I did not complain to the staff was I did not want to cause a scene in front of other diners.

We have been regularly customers at this pub for the last ten years whilst Jo and Dave were the landlords. We went in last Thursday evening to be greeted by a new member of staff who asked had we booked a table. When I stated no, he keenly informed us we couldn’t have a table due to how busy they were and a lack of staff. He came across quite rude. After we left the pub I checked the app they had available bookings all evening. We won’t be going there again which is such a shame as it was by far our favourite pub. Bring back Jo and Dave.

Had pork belly dish tonight and it was lovely. Apple pie and custard to finish. Would recommend both. Sat by the open fire with mum. Lovely evening spent at ring o bells, daresbury.

Not as good as in the past. welcome wasn't very festive considering it was Christmas Day. The starters and main was served promptly and the steak was to a high standard, although the presentation wasn't good and certainly not as good as in the past visits. We were served our free glasses of prosecco with a diet coke. The waitress came again with the same order but stated that we may as well have the prosecco but surprisingly, we were charged for it, which wasn't made clear. We had to wait a long time for dessert so the experience as a whole wasn't the best we have had at this venue. We have been regular customers here for a long time, so we hope this is a one off

Visited with grown up children (19yrs and 16yrs). Food was amazing, it always is when we go. We were served by Ciara and the service was excellent too.

Visited the Ring O Bells for lunch on Saturday while out for a walk. The pub was warm and welcoming and Richard found us a table in the bar/dog friendly area. Nice relaxing and informal surroundings with a good range of drinks and food to pick from.

We visited the Ring O'Bells on New Year's day to be greeted straight away by Nemo the manager, we were shown to a table adjacent to a lovely warming open fire, just the job on a miserable wet day outside. The place has an interesting if not macarbre history being a former court and gallows as well as the Louis Carroll village connection. Being vegan, we were given plenty of options on the menu and the food arrived quickly after ordering. Hearty mains with desserts made with fantastic flavours and more than enough portions. An excellent meal and we will be back to try more. Well done to all the staff who made this an enjoyable experience for us.

We visited tonight booked table for 7.30 when we came to order the food was told there was no beef turkey pork or chicken the menu was very limited they had fish and chips pie and mash or steak the food was very poor the carrot not carrots was burnt and rubbery after telling us they had no chicken chef said that they had one left it was dry and covered in barbecue sauce not very tasty They good part of the meal was the desert was nice The staff very friendly The Baileys coffee tasted of very strong coffee very little baileys All in all not a great experience Sorry don’t normally do reviews but didn’t enjoy.

Absolutely fantastic experience. 👏 Couldn't have received better service from Nemo, who knows exactly how to look after guests. He put us at ease straight away and gave us such a warm welcome.

Attended for our office Christmas lunch as we have for the past 5 years. Very disappointed this year. There was no Christmas Crackers despite us booking and pre-ordering the Christmas Fayre. Quality of meal was not as good as it has been previously. Food was barely warm. Carrots rock hard. One desert had to be sent back as it was still frozen. Overall we weren't as happy as we have been

Food was 7 out of 10 and prices were a little high, the pub is local to me and I have been several times. A very nice place to go with a friendly atmosphere.

We often come here on a Sunday for a roast dinner , it's become a regular for us now. We love the lamb shank pie and the rib of beef. I've also tried a lot of there specials. The salmon wellington was lovely.

Probably the best pub around offering the biggest variety of gluten free options. Lovely atmosphere, food was fantastic, and Ciara was very attentive and was knowledgable about the gluten free menu and allergy requirements. Highly recommend and we will be back.

We called on for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Although the restaurant was quite busy, the service from Nemo was truly excellent - he was friendly, attentive and very efficient, showing a real commitment to delivering the best customer experience. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced - we ordered fish & chips, scampi, and a chicken & bacon wrap. The sticky toffee pudding and Bramley apple pie with ice cream desserts were in generous portions, and delicious too. Highly recommended!

Visited with friends for lunch. Beautiful food and surroundings and server Nemo was very attentive and friendly. Only downside, not being able to tip by card when none of us had any cash. Will remember this for our next visit.

Excellent service, lovely staff, and lovely food with great choice. It was quieter than usual, the Manager explained that this was due to the roadworks on Daresbury Express Way.

Last minute booking for Sunday lunch, no problem getting a table. We arrived early and were met by a very friendly young lady who promptly showed us to our table. It was in the older part of the building which was lovely with wood panelled walls and a nice warming fire (even though it wasn’t real fire) Nemo our server was very efficient taking our drink order after a few minutes at the table. The drinks came quickly and food order was taken. I made small adjustment to my meal which was no problem. For came very quickly and was piping hot and very tasty. Hubby had a problem with his pint which was quickly apologised about and replaced. Nemo our server was very helpful and efficient. Definitely recommend for Sunday lunch.

Having read some of the recent reviews, it looks like this place is a sinking ship. "Have you booked?" were the frosty opening words from the waitress when my friend and I took our seats. "No, I haven't, is it booking only now?" I enquired. "The staff need time to prepare meals, and we're short, so its booking only" was the chilly response! I asked as to whether I should leave, and was informed that I could have drinks only and no food. This was about 1.50pm on Wednesday 14th February 2024. The pub was hardly bursting at the seams, and had plenty of space although quite a few folk were enjoying their meals. In essence, I felt like we were an inconvenience and not welcome. As we left, I asked the barmaid if this was a new thing, or just today. She replied that they still do "Some walk ins." I found this whole episode bizarre, as we have had many great meals here in the past, and even held our mother's funeral gathering at Ring O bells. The reception we got today was brisk and frosty, and it was almost like we had walked into the middle of an argument or something. There are obviously some serious staffing issues here, and they all look demoralised. Very, very odd. NO mention of booking only on your website or Google maps. How are your customers meant to know its booking only, if you dont advertise it? Come on Ring O bells, you can do much better than this, sort yourselves out!

Travelled from North Wales to see my son on Daresbury park. Googled places to eat and this came up,booked for the 5 of us. We all had the Sunday Roast. Ones of the best ones I've had. Def recommend here. We were well looked after by Nemo.

We visited the Ring O' Bells on Wednesday evening without a reservation but the staff were happy to find a table for my family of 3. Everything we ordered was lovely. My husband had the soup to start and mixed grill. I opted for the Hunters chicken and my son had the fish & chips and chocolate brownie for dessert. Ciara was so helpful and friendly. Most definitely the nicest waitress we have met. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and would love to pop in, if we were ever in the area again 😁

Booked for a party of 25 to celebrate my mother's life. We had a separate room which was well set out when we arrived and tea and coffee were waiting for us.The buffet was of a very high standard and dishes were even replenished when empty.Excellent deserts were also provided.Thanks so much to all involved for making this such a pleasant experience.

We had a fantastic breakfast this morning on the latest of a few visits this year. We were lucky to have a table next to the warm fire and were looked after as always by the staff! Highly recommended for breakfast, Sunday roast or an evening meal.

Nimo was attentive and did an ex ellent job.

Terribly slow service. Took 3.5 hours to have our meal. Things came out at wrong time, items were missing off plates, food was tepid and had clearly been waiting a long time to be served. Waitress passed food down the table rather than serve to the right person, table very close together. . We had to look for staff to give us the bill, it arrived within a very few minutes. No apology was offered for service

Sunday Lunch. A treat not to cook in a Sunday especially with a Sunday offer. 2 courses £20 each. Garlic mushrooms on sourdough was lovely. Trio of meats with rosemary potatoes plenty of veg and a Yorkshire pudding. Very nice pub great atmosphere and super service for our waitress Ciara, very friendly and helpful. Always worth a visit to the Ring o Bells at Daresbury

Went for Sunday dinner. We've been a few times and it's always been great. It was a massive disappointment this time. I had the beef, which the menu said was served pink. It was bone dry! There was a lot of it, though. It said it was served with seasonal root vegetables. There was one, very small parsnip! The roast potatoes were a weird texture. Crispy but greasy. The mashed carrot and swede was only half mashed and half diced. The gravy was only on the meat, so the Yorkshire pudding was dry. The gravy was extremely thick and dark brown. I looked like Bisto and didn't taste of much. For pudding I ordered the sticky toffee pudding. On the menu is said it was served with coconut icecream and had a sugar crumb. There was no sugar crumb and it was plain icecream and only half a scoop. The pudding was very tasty but there was a lot of sultanas in the toffee sauce, which was just odd. The service was terribly slow. For a good 45 minutes there was only one person serving the whole of the very busy conservatory section. Finally, only one disabled parking spot on the property isn't very accessible friendly.

Awful service today, staff could not have cared less. Food took over an hour to arrive and was cold. Honestly would not return.

I go most weeks here, never actually left a review! In short; in the summer it's got a really well kept beer garden, really nice in the sunset around 6, then in the winter it's got a roaring fireplace in the bar area which we love. We have a dog and he loves it and gets lots of fuss. Going to pubs after a dog walk is where most of my disposable income goes and this is a top3 pub for me.

Amazing pub. So dog friendly, the staff are always lovely and welcoming and the food and drink is reliably excellent. There are plenty of veggie options and we always really enjoy the food.
